I think we both share a very cynical view of most companies motives. While the first part is certainly true, consumers have been asking for some type of fair queue system and I think this does provide some benefits.

I agree. EVGA gets to see "actual" interests. And not just someone constantly pushing F5 over and over. So instead of 100 people showing 200M pageviews, it'll show the actual 100 people who do want it, giving them a realistic number to work with. As for the consumers, I think just having that 5 hour window is great. So instead of getting a notification, and then it being sold out before you can even click check out. You'll have time to actually put in your credit card and shipping information.

@woeful jasper the reason I started with a 1660 super is because the base 1660 is on average under $250.00 but the 1060 6gb is still superior to a 1650 4gb model

I am using a 1060 6gb with a 3800xt and its okay but not what I wanted, I happen to own several 1060's and cant get a 3080 card so I use what I have while I wait.

That statement, that right there, by using the word "Obsolete", you basically just implied, that CPU upgrades will make it so you won't need a GPU anymore. Meaning, you can run your games without any graphics cards whatsoever. Using ONLY integrated graphics.
