it’s ridiculous
was the gigabyte $600 before?
I don’t think it was right? it was always $720
I wonder why this one was so expensive in relation considering it’s also just a base model right
Exactly
It was actually stocked in my microcenter for MSRP for a fair while, like around 4 hours.
But I really didn't feel like making a 2 hour drive one way for a card.
There's no way in hell I'm paying $130 extra for a base gigabyte card
I have to make a 6 hour drive for my closest MC lol
Ive seen so much Gigabyte hate in the last few days Im not sure I'd buy one at $599
$720 is the OC varient
I believe it was
Oohh
ey the OC is in stock lol
It is not, they show it in stock but you can't checkout with it
thats big dumb
Even tried the combo deal and nothing
it's absolutely hilarious they will use shuffle for nvidia but not amd
I managed to place an order for the Aorus Elite - more than I wanted to spend, but I doubt the $600 ones are coming back with the way things are right now. Hopefully my order actually ships!
To be fair they haven't done it before, and the cards just released, so they might start just a bit later tho
the release seems like the absolute most pertinent time to use it
Damn bro i cant place an order on the aorus elite and ive been trying since 10 am pst
I assume they will be back in 3-6 months when people will just decide that Nvidia cards just make more sense when comparing the AMD ones you could actually buy, to Nvidia
just tells me order exceed limit
if you're gonna pay that much you're likely better off waiting for one of the cards from a brand with better reputation but ymmv
I placed my order about 15 minutes ago, just couldn't post until now due to being at work. Of course I got a work call I had to answer right at 10am and had to try to order and work at the same time!
🤷♂️ id want the asus tuf, but im fine with aorus i really doubt id have issues with that card
I got a 9070 OC. which is a massive change from what i have.... a 2070!
sick that it worked out for u
hate these online drops cause i never am able to push the order through
I praying to the computer gods that i actually get to one... meaning that it doesnt get cancelled
yea mine did with the first launch it sucks
I got lucky for sure (assuming it isn't canceled like some people Thursday)
idk if my order is being cancelled cause just online issues with bots and all that or because its counting my cancelled order as exceeding the limit.
Did u already place an order or are you trying to check out?
nah this time i didnt get the order through jsut tryna check out. Prob just bots buying it out again it tells me inventory either out or customer exceeding the limit of item
I assume it already got sold out, but the store page for the card just hasent updated
yea it 100 sold out already i was just trying in spite of it lol
been trying for 30 mins now since 10 am pst
I also am getting the above limit error and I got one cancelled on release.
Which MC are you by? Everytime I go to MC it sells out in an hour depending on quantity
Yeah that bih sold out in 4 mins
Crazy I tried to purchase within the first minute but it was already sold out.
Tustin
not even i was literally there as it launched getting the same error
oh same here
if it restocks in tustin i might drive over
Ya idk I might just buy it whenever it would finally be widly avalibe again
Newegg should give those with cancelled orders some kind of priority queue for stringing us along like that.
It seems like there are too many scalpers buying things out with bots, and they will not go away until people will stop buying cards from ebay
They should, but they don't have any reason to. You're still gonna buy from them if it comes back in stock
It's a shame MSI isn't making AMD cards anymore. Their site being such 💩 ironically made it more bot resistant
💀
the non is the one i have
and it was $777 after tax so
i guess price went up
Manage to place an order on that one
Yup
I think I managed to grab one as well lol. Says confirmed...
Same
Sooo
NOW WE CAN PLAY THE CANNCEL ROULATE BOYS
Soooo you're saying theres a chance....
WHO IS IN/
In the event of actually getting it, would three fiddy be a fair price for a 3070 XC3 ultra lmao
729
$729 💀
Order updated to packaging?
@visual rune @karmic frigate @sleek willow @hidden pawn @keen flax We all have an order place?
Type in the chat if it will get cannceled for you I really want to know how many of us will win this lol
Still processing
i’m guessing a 25% cancel rate at the most anything above that would be crazy
I placed one too on pulse
same
actually ridiculous
I edited it you on the message
I'm getting regrets now lmaoo
restock pure pls
Buyers remorse? lol
hahahaha
tbh either keep it or sell it to someone else in your area for $20-30
Did I help anyone btw, or did you all catch it before I posted a message?
don’t overcharge though
Nah I'll probably keep it and sell my 3070
It says packaging on mine now
SAME YOOOO CONGRATS EVERYONE WHO GOT IT
same is that a good thing?
tbh idk why but i’m not even as excited as i thought i would be. maybe because of the fact that i wanted the red devil but
Yesss packaging
just having a bad day tbh
I wanted the pulse lol
Now I'm not really happy that I over payed 130$ which I did because pulse was originally MSRP but we will see how it will go in the future, and if I will want to return it
I'm tryna hold out for the Nitro+
hey guys, are any of yall skilled with pc stuff that could help me with something
How's Newegg refund policy for this stuff?
Yp it means the order has proccessed, and should not get cannceled
i had a 7800xt, and now i got the gigabyte one, how would i add the additional connector needed? should i buy it right now
WOOOO time to put my 1080 to rest
Ahh ya just check for a cable in the bag that came with your power supply
Also is rx 9070 xt really worthy of an upgrade for you? I'm upgratting from 1080
to be honest i’m paying like $260 out of pocket for it
your not supposed to mix and match cables, just use the ones that are with your power supply. If you dont have them then honestly maybe you can look up your psu online and maybe they sell cables separately for it? Idk if thats a thing but idk what else you would do
imo it’ll be worth it just because i built my pc around a month ago and i plan to use this for a while
Ohh dam, how did that happen, if you can disclose it?
of course, i had bought a 7800xt from newegg around a month ago for $480 + tax and
i found a buyer for it on fb marketplace i’m selling it to them for $515 so pretty much exactly what i paid for it
😳
Ahh okay ya this makes sense
Manage to get a sapphire pulse card but i don't really like it. Dunno know if i'll keep it. If it was the nitro plus then i would sell my 7900xtx nitro and keep it. But i hate red lol
what won't fit in your case?
Oh yea, i had to get a new one. Went with a corsair 4000D
The pulse
I'll need to measure when I'm home from work
If not my friend needs one for a new build
I'll just ask for what It costed me
that's the good thing about my nitro+ 7900xtx its 320 but I have a havn hs420 so there's plenty of room.
soo next restock when
O NO LOL
Hope it will fit. Honestly worth just checking if it does when it will arive to you as the tollarances are typicly not exectly what they list.
Hold up I have a chunky GPU, I can actually tell you if it will sag or not
Worst case scenerio you will have to move your radiator to the top
320 x 121 x 62 mm
hey laycookie quick question
Dimmantions for anyone who needs them
i can’t figure it out myself, but what type of connectors does this gigabyte one need?
is it a 2x8 split or 3x8 split
Yep
Pulse is like half an inch shorter than the nitro+ no?
size in MM
Also I'm happy that pulse only uses 2 8pin lol
Gotcha thank you
I actually don't mind the 3x connectors, as having 3 of them does not nessarly mean it will draw a lot of power, but it does mean you can push it more
Do you think adding the pin to the PSU is an easy task or will i have to absolutely open everything?
like the extra cable
Is it modular or is an old one?
Modular the corsair750
If it is modular, you just plug in a cable, if it is an old one with all cables attached it is pretty much imposible
750 gold
I prefer it bc my PSU only has X2 single cables lol
It's a good one haha
Ya thats why I just assumed you use a modular one at the begging lol
Ya it should be a matter of just plugging in a new cable in to it.
That’s what I just bought for the 9070 oc
I got myself a 1200w bequite lmao
also are you guys using a 850 or 750w? i looked online and it said 750w is just fine
I've had this PC since dec 2020, I'll be building the rest of the new one next year
750w
Same
How many MHz less?
The clocks don't really mean anything. As long as you know what your doing you and push the clock. Problem is what chip bin you got.
well the 9070xt undervolted and OCed at least the nitro can get you 8 percent average boost.
I still just don't like how the pulse looks but I'll hold on to it and see if i can grab another one.
same imo the pulse is a little overrated looks wise
i think i’m just a bum because i love RGB
I don't like RGB hahaha
I got tired of it after my RGB barf pc
Is there even anyone who actually likes how pulse looks like lmao
Haha lol
Ya no I can see it being nice bottom side, but I feel like up side that you will actually be seeing in your computer does not look good mostly because the heat sink is not painted black
question guys, is the normal gigabyte overclocked? it says OC in its name so i don’t know
This will be my first AMD GPU. The price is much nicer than Nvidia this time, so I'm hopeful. It'll replace my 3070
I feel like MSRP isn't real
its not
Thet have two versions that look the same but one is OC, while the second one is not.
The one for sale today was OC
I KNOW. I'm also fairly confident it was originaly MSRP.
Like I remember seeing it up for $599 on the first day
it was
AMD is getting a lot of bad press for it rn, so I'm hoping they will pressure saphire to change the price back but we will see
hmm, i just got a Swift off Amazon, but for $760
Honestly... At this point I would just go with RTX 5070ti.
Like even for $730 I would probably just pay the extra $20 to go with Nvidia, but the only reason I don't is because I use Linux.
5070ti's arent available for $750 lol
just cancelled mine i'm not paying 729 for an msrp card
the real msrp is closer to $700, AMD rug pulled people with their MSRP
well yeah, msrp only exists for a single store chain
RIP.
I thought it is now getting mildly better with them now tho isn't it?
Like they are still not at MSRP prices, but you can actually buy them now if you just watch out for alerts
so msrp is only real for ~5% of people
I mean if i'm going to spend that much I want one of the other cards
there's a few cards around $750, but most have been raised to $850-1000
i got a nitro+ 7900xtx so I'm in no rush to get one lol screw that. for that price I want a nitro or something
I'll make a refund, if the availability will become even just marginally better in the coming days, and they will not offer me rebait.
it also sucks that most of the brands for 5070 tis have bad reputations
I really like the founders cards from nvidia, but getting them is a pain from what I know
spend $800 and have to RMA with MSI/ASUS/Gigabyte/Zotac....probably gonna be a bad time
You are doing good lol.
The only reason I'm not going for an older card is because I'm a dev, and I want to play with AI a bit, so I need the new AI cores
how soon did you find out if your order didnt go through with newegg if they had too many orders?
First time it was 40 mins. today I got a message within around 7 mins
ohhh ok. so i think im in the clear..... (continue to pray to the computer gods) Its been over an hour now
I have my reasons for wanting the 9070xt. Some think i'm crazy for waiting to pull my current card out for it.
Is it still saying payment processing for you?
It shows as packaging.
Ahh you are in the clear then
you should be fine
I was literally getting into the state of mind to buy a 7800...
kind of annoyed cause i swear my order went in before my sister's and mine got canned and her's made it.
its funny how best buy has the white swift at $750 and black one at $600 while Newegg has the white at $600 and black at $750
I like that it's the least busy looking design haha
Would it be worth upgrading to a 4K monitor with the 9070 XT, or stick with 1440p?
Lol, to be fair it might also be related to how banks process payments.
Ya same on newegg btw lmao
I like the gigabyte one as it is a bit more covered
i should probably cancel, not sure the swift is worth $760
would rather have the hellhound at that price i think
Yaa even $700 is a bit of a stretch
i mean $700 is the realistic MSRP, but still
$700 is already a stretch as all the marketing material used $600 price point as comparison
no the msrp is 599. It was set by amd. Partners don't have to agree to sell it at that. But that's the msrp.
an msrp that is only obtainable at a single store chain that exists for a fraction of the planet aint the real msrp
and ill die on that hill
not to mention only 11 of 39 cards available from ALL retailers were at MSRP
msrp is the manufacture suggested retail price which is set by the manufacture. lol Don't know what to tell you but that is what it is. Albeit its SUGGESTED. Also they sold them at that price the other day they just raised the price today.
Well I agree with you to an extand, but you it isn't like they will advertise like it is $730+ They will continue saying it is $600
Which is also why they don't have price match on that card.
Ya no he is thinking of it as more of a minimum price for a card. Which it technically kinda supposed to be as it is what we culturally think of when talking about MSRP prices. Thats also the reason why we get pissed, when no one is selling the cards for MSRP
On paper, and logistics wise msrp is a different thing tho ya
I don't get upset. I just don't by. When you take a card that's built for msrp and make it 10 and 50 bucks less then your top cards... lol
Zotac 5070 Ti's went in stock for $1000 and $1100 today lol
Do you guys think MSRP will raise after tariffs, or did AMD take them into consideration for the current MSRP?
I've seen people say the latter
But I think they'll pull out an excuse and raise it later
they already have an excuse
they dont control the price, the retailers/aibs do
like the msrp defenders have already said here 😉
it's kinda funny how AMD seems to get a bit more leeway in pricing lies than NV
God dammit this means I gotta get one now if I can
I wonder how much the "new" prices will be
itll probably go to minimum $750-800 like 5070 tis
and the top end models will push 1k
Lmaooo
True lol
Probably starting at $750 or smth
considering they gave retailers a $50 rebate to sell it at $600, its already going to $650 minimum
Is there any news on restocks yet?
I wanted a 5070ti but I can't justify paying basically $250 extra for 2-5% improvement
They're averaging at $940
The card got released post tariffs
We are so cooked
But they were shipping/stocking some of them before tarrifs
Ya but I highly doubt that AMD would advertise msrp releases prices, that would litterly be impossible to sustain.
I mean personally I'm all for companies pointing out the impacts of tarrifs rather than just hiding them within a silently inflated price
Not that AMD has explicitly called them out as far as I know
Think of it this way guys.
The first shipment was made before tariffs were official, so those GPUs reflect more closely the actual price of the GPU.
Subsequent shipments are now subject to a 20% tariff. What's $600+20%? $720, which is what a lot of MSRP models are currently listed at.
How’d it go I was at work
lol you do know none of those proposed Tariffs are in effect yet. They are supposed to start in the next month or two.
actually they may have just went into effect. Hell its hard to know
but hey if anyone got a sapphire 9070xt nitro I'll trade you my xtx 😛
"next month" is already here
it was announced back in feburary that it would start march 4th
it is already march 10th
Actually that might explain the AliExpress 5700x3d price hikes as well
$150 *1.25 = $187.5
Though it could also be the stock is dwindling idk
There's more tariffs incoming April 2nd, and the Canada and Mexico tariffs are still on hold afaik
even more 💀
yep, i bet in a few months ill be kicking myself for canceling the 9070's ive had ordered at $750
I can't find them for those prices 😦
Cheapest I can get is $236 from a reputable seller and in stock
Yeah, you might should have kept that.
err that was wrong reply
Might should have kept that card. Depending on what you already have.
I wasn't married to the Swift/Quicksilver at $750. I think if I am going to pay that much I mine as well get a Hellhound or Red Devil/Mercury for $50 more.
I just want the Aorus or PURE. meanwhile the Hellhound Spectral is a ways away.
Ohh no it would definitely not be that bad, you would definitely be able to get it for $750 or less in 2-4 months.
The demand isn’t as high as 5000s, and it does not appear that there are any manufacturing problems with AMD cards.
prices may be raised higher by then, if nvidia doesnt start releasing more cards, demand will be higher than normal
LOL
Should've bought for $170 on Amazon last year lol
The 9700xt is arriving tomorrow or Wednesday!
Understand... same I was like no way I'm paying this for a card I don't like. Focused too hard to get my build looking what i consider is nice.
GOT ME A CARD AT MSRP BABY!
(have to pay to have it shipped from NY to FL but hey still worth it!!)
Congratz
Thank you! Super excited for it
YOOOOO
Yea lol excited for it. Ended up getting the steel legend. Hoping asrock is doing a good job with these. It will go great with my steel series legend mobo too
Those are fine
I believe they're downbins but for msrp they still perform excellently
The challenger (CL) was the one I was worried about, not steel legend
So the tachi is better?
Was the pulse down binned?
I had a buddy go for the pulse but in the 10 mins it took him to get there they sold over 50 cards and this is what was left lol
@odd siren
Pulse isn't binned either no
Taichi better yes but 12vhpwr so awful
Steel legend is a good one imo
Msrp >>>>> any binned card
Ight cool I liked the white color too so I was happy to get it for msrp
Daaaammm... Wich card and what store?
Steel legend. Had a friend snag it on restock at MC in NY
Wish I had a friend next to an MC store, congrats mate. I'm quite jealous
Gonna cost me like 50-60$ to ship it down but still better then the Newegg prices so I’m all good with it
Thanks man I appreciate it I’m real excited to get things thing working
That seems awfully expensive if you're shipping US->US
Unless you're like paying your friend extra for their time I suppose
That’s what UPS was plus insurance on the item
Oh additional insurance, didn't think of that
Yea I mean I think that was like 10$-15$
And they charged like 10$ for a box or something idek
i'm going to drop by microcenter for the heck of it on thrusday its 2 hours away so.
Got everything. Might need to learn the clock thing but yeah. Starting working on it tomorrow
I will post when I get it
Manufacturers recommended sales price
Wait
Why is the acronym in that order
Wait
Ohh
I remembered it wrong lol
Manufacturers suggested retail price

Huh, so the price that the manifacturers suggested?
If I am not wrong
Don't know for canada.
Around $800 cad it seems
Alright, I pay 889 dollars plus taxes
Not that bad?
So like 620usd
Yes, plus taxes
It's cheaper than a fair bit of the models in the US afaik
Though their prices are probably higher due to the new tarrifs
Don't think it was affected yet when the launch happend
Plus I save at least 400 dollars
A build that I was planing to build fir 3500 ended for 2500
Still think of maybe buying a extended storage for games like flight simulator which takes a lot
But that put of suggest for this channel
At the got lucky on launch.
Iirc 889 in Canada was more or less msrp up there
You could if you want
Klevv c910
It's the default ssd storage rn
This is pretty nice
Turns out under volting 9070 xt oc results in it being comparible to 5080
Nice!
Wh
Let's not forget the XTX being slammed with 700W gave it 4090 numbers in cyberpunk
Being able to do this without an EVC though is still noteworthy
gigabyte aorus 9070xt + 9800X3D, 1000W good enough?
👍
C'mon UPS pick up the card lol
Do I use the same AMD ryzen app for Radeon drivers?
After I DDU Nvidia drivers
Wait no, it should be this one right?
https://www.amd.com/en/products/software/adrenalin.html
hey guys quick question, bagged the gigabyte 9070xt, it requires a 3x8 connection. I have a corsair 750e with two cables attached to it currently, would i need to add a third connector or could i just use the adapter that supposedly comes with it? new to pc building so not sure
i’d prefer to just use an adapter as the wiring and stuff could be kinda confusing
adapter?
you can use these 2 cables to power your gpu
but wouldn’t I need 3 of them total?
I don’t have one of those double connectors I’m pretty sure like in the bottom pic
A bit annoying that it takes UPS 3 days to ship from Ontario to LA
should be included with the psu, looking at the rm750e
Gotcha, I think it may already be plugged in
from ontario CA to LA, CA. USA?
Yp
I believe I do have one of the straight ones that’s on top
that's east coast (almost) to west coast lmao
Both are in CA
but wouldn’t all 3 need to be the split one? like the 3x2 type
Cuz 'Merica
wdym
The same reason there's a London,TX
💀
wouldn’t all 3 connections into the GPU need to be that 6x2 connector that’s in the bottom image?
55 km away from LA
or could I just use a normal 8 pin alongside the other 2
That's how long it's telling me too
But I'm slightly further away than you.
I'm about 5000kms from Ontario lmao
Hello, I will be responsible for you. I live in Turkey and I want to come to America and buy a graphics card. Where is the Newegg store address? Where can I buy a graphics card? Can someone help me buy a 4070ti super graphics card?
P sure the RM750e is not bad
It's A-tier on Cultist
Just overpriced in the bundle
Tbf
With tariffs
That's more like actual price for both
720 for GPU, 90 for PSU
this one seems even better, wonder if I could sell it for half price and get some money back
but if im gonna pay $850 i probably shouldve just kept the magnetic air
It's...
Essentially the same
RMx and RMe are very close to each other
RMe is only slightly less "ideal" (still very good)
they need to hurry up and sell out so i can stop being tempted lol
RMx is golden A-tier, RMe is blue A-tier on Cultist iirc
Yeah so both are good
RMx is only different in that they guarantee exclusively using Japanese parts (which is apparently preferred)
While the RMe doesn't guarantee that
They still are made to the same RM standard
Just dont need a PSU so I'd have to try selling it, not sure what the market for that is like
Fair
im also still on the fence about just waiting for a 5070ti
When was the last time they had 5070ti in stock?
Oh okay! Thats good to know. I hope ill get lucky soon
if these stupid bundles werent sitting out there i wouldnt be so tempted
I just got the 9070xt from them it arrives on Thursday. I’m hoping it performs well
Just curious why the 5070ti vs 9070xt?
Is it more due to RT?
there's very few scenarios where the 9070xt outperforms the 5070ti as far as i can tell, even without RT
Is the value proposition not better tho? It’s about 8% worse for for like 30-40% cheaper
maybe, im basically perma-stunlocked right now with analysis paralysis
That’s fair I saw the MSRP 9070xt come up yesterday so I snapped it up
Otherwise I was in your boat too
i could buy this bundle for $850, sell the PSU for $60-100, get the card for $750-800, then sell my 3080 and recoup 3-400
or just wait for one of the other cards to come around for $730-800
Well isn’t that roughly the same thing?
yes, which is why i am wondering if waiting for a 'higher end' card is the better option, more boost clock, more power pins for OC headroom and maybe 'cooler' looking
So the question becomes how much do you wanna deal with selling it?
Ahh well only you can really answer that. You could always rock the 3080 and see if any refreshes happen or extreme models before the 60 series
I settled on that if I couldn’t get MSRP
Well thankfully all the combo deals just went OOS
weird that they all went at once
unless there was a huge delay
but theyve been up for at least an hour or two
now theyre back lol
with some cheaper ones
They tempting you lol
yeah the cheaper ones they added all got snagged
Finally. After months of waiting. I refuse to pay scalpers.
I can now play, create AND generate. That's like three for the price of one.
Have oculus/meta vr been updating for arc?
Remember the alchemist lineup didn’t like oculus/meta drivers previously
Still don't afaik
@raven wharf my pulse is ready but I'm picking it up tomorrow
Rip on the arc cards again
Seems no one wanted to spend more than $799 on the bundles, all the $800+ ones are still there 😄
What resolution do you game at, do you use ray tracing?
i play 1440 and never tried it
4060's dont even make the benchmark list
Don't quote me but assuming drivers are playing nicely I believe it is in between a 6700non-xt and a 3060ti, with more vram than the 3060ti
so should i ?
Ohh okay that sounds very good if it's msrp
Yes at MSRP (and if you have a capable cpu) it is very good value
no one can decide for you, use the data available and make your own decision
well give me your opinion lol atleast
50 series is only worth considering at msrp, which is hard to get, and even then it's not great value. You could look at used cards or go for a 9070xt
he asked if he should get a 9070 lol
^
hmm maybe it was an edit or i misread
He did edit it
Idk what it originally said
9070 is aight but the 9070xt is much better value
5070 non ti is terrible value, 5070 ti is realistically overpriced and basically not possible to obtain
what i edited was a the ?
i misread then
lol
unless you buy used or overpay, itll be 3-6 months before 5070s are realistically obtainable anywhre near msrp
would any of those go good with my cpu anyway i have the ryzen 7 7800x3d
Any gpu will go good with that lol
the 9070xt would likely slam dunk all over your 4060
It absolutely will
while its less overpriced, its also tremendously difficult to get one unless you want to buy a kekw bundle from newegg
how much is the 9070xt
supposed to be $599, but models go from $599-850
Still a decent buy up to 700 or so then it's ehh
the odds of getting a $599 model if you dont live close to a microcenter are next to 0
and the odds of getting one at 700 or less are barely higher
most retailers have already hiked the prices above 700
and the ones below are the most targeted by bots, scalpers and real people
when will microcenter even restock the 9070xts? The one nearest to me online has no stock rn
without an announcement, no way for us to know
AMD reps say asap, but that could mean anything
yea ig so. Gpu stock just sucks rn, i tried for both this amd launch and the 50 series got nothing like most other ppl lol. I was there on the exact time but u just cant beat the bots
yep, doesnt help that newegg hordes cards for bundles
9000 series launch reminds me of 40 series launch
50 series launch reminds me of stock during the pandemic
yeah this all feels exactly how it felt during the 3X launch
although I was able to get 10 cards during the 3X launch so this is likely worse
but newegg also used shuffle during 3X, but they seem to be unwilling to use it for this
Imo i think 9000 series stock will normalize fairly soon, albeit above msrp from tariffs
Whereas 50 series stock i don't see improving as fast, and imo will still have higher pricing because nvidia is nvidia
Amd doesn't have as much of a market share in non gaming areas for gpus, but nvidias main profits are from AI cards
9070xt same price as my 3080 😄
I'm in two minds about this
Both tsmc
no GPU stock is normalizing anytime soon
not while AI is ramping and ramping and ramping
You know what I reckon lol
I reckon we'll have too many iphones first

Apple is the biggest buyer of tsmc rn iirc
they cant produce stuff fast enough to keep up
Thats true, but amd already had a ton more stock than nvidia has from what I've been told
consumerism goes hard these days on top of large scale purchasing like AI
word, not sure if im happy or sad about that tho. technichally its a tier lower right?
the 3080? yes, but with inflation and tariffs its reasonable
3080 is like almost half as fast
no its about 41% uplift from what ive seen at 4k
It's 18 to some 30
3X series launched right when crypto mining was dying
ahh your doing it reverse
But overclocked the 9070 can double a stock 3080
i could sell the 3080 for ~400 and get a 9070 for around $400
all good my man been there before haha
i got the EVGA ftw3 when i retire it imma mount it since they arent around anymore lol
thats the card i have
I have an evga xc 2080 ti
I sold my 3080 and 3090
Well a 2080 ti with a 2070s xc cooler on it
Both still work tho afaik
my boring ugly build
what do you do to have a 3080 and a 3090?
Ok those gpu cables hurt me
They should :p
idgaf how it looks cause no one cares how it looks unless i show pics to randos on the internet, no friends so who actually cares
From the top is just disrespect /j
lol maybe so but idt you would approve of how close they are to the bottom fans
but im going to go in the complete opposite direction if i do a full build for the 9070 and go all out and do something crazy like this
Try routing them from behind the front fans just to upset more people
now that looks insane
im too lazy to even mess with it, the radiator is also mounted incorrectly and the tubes should be on the bottom
Tubes top is fine
i love the idea of pc building but when the time comes to do it, i hate it
lol bro same
In fact many cases are too big for aios to run tubes bottom
Fully aware
what fans are these
I've used dozens of aios, built plenty of loops
Tubes top is fine
The only proviso is the pump isn't at the top of the loop
And even then that's not a perfect statement
Not sure completely but, These fans have a distinctive ringed LED design, which suggests they could be from a premium brand like Lian Li UNI FAN SL120/SL140, Corsair QL/RGB series, or Phanteks D30/D-RGB series.
Some aios run pump in rad so top mount still happens despite what people think
If there's one thing I've learned since looking at doing an absurd build like this, it's I am going to pay half a builds worth just in fans
8 Lian Li's is like $400
If you shop smart you can avoid that
Uni fans and l connect are only expensive for the convenience or specifically the lcd's
If you're just after the general look there are a bunch of substitutes
Thermalright and sama both come to mind
Pay 4-12 per fan instead of 50
No l connect issues with those either unlike lian li
Yeah, I did some research on alternatives. I figure I should focus on getting the GPU first
Something like this is kind of my goal
thats def lian li
But probably with this case
Yep, when I first researched this case I realized my ambitions come with a price tag
Ive also heavily contemplated doing a white build for the first time
question how big of a difference in OC are the base models vs the increased power ones?
ive seen some pretty insane results from UV/OC on the 9070xt mercury
i think thats largely tied to silicon lottery or whatever
Y1023f iirc does have a good degree of this look
So that would be like $4 per fan instead of the lian li meh-ness for like, $35 per fan?
Lol
Ive found some AsiaHorse versions but theyre out of stock most places
Depending on if they're binning there may be some extent of a performance difference
And yes XFX is known for good binning
Their swift cards are in that category too
of good bins?
(Really wanted a swift [sob] anyway)
I cancelled a swift today at $760
Yeah
do we know how asrock normally does?
Not worth unless sub 720 at absolute most
Middle of the road
i didnt even know they made GPUS lol
Sapphire tends to do well
other than the white swift on newegg and the black swift on best buy, not sure its available below 720 anywhere
oooo
Giga has the best warranty
one of the craziest builds ive seen, cant even find the exact fan models and the cpu block is weird af
sapphire i assume is good too, everyone seems to love them
Giga I have like never seen a good bin lol
Ye
Xfx tho is always known for good asic samples
asic?
I really wanted a swift, sad I couldn't get one but it wouldn't fit
weak mentality
The radeon term for silicon lottery
Here's the fans, found it https://www.newegg.com/jonsbo-za-360b-case-fan-360mm-argb-led/p/1YF-00EV-000G6?item=9SIAY3SKCJ3724
Ah yeah, 46 is not bad there
Way better than unifans
Jonsbo quality is as good or better than lian li too
i didnt know you can just buy a 360mm block of fans lmao
those are jonsbo fans in that picture? they look amazing
jonsbo is sleeper brand ngl
yep, just found the post on reddit
ahh ok. i ended up taking the asrock bc that is all that was left (at MSRP) after the MC restock. legit had a friend there in under 20 mins it was crazy
i like their mobos. decided to get their gpu this time
only regret is not getting a sapphire
I've been saying jonsbo is better than lian li for like 2 years now lol
Msrp >>>>> binning
Always.
case is SSUPD Xhuttle Black
i dont care for how you can see the individual lights
other than that they are really cool
what is AMD chill? i think i heard some random CC mention it in a vid the other day but ive never heard of it
i wont see that when my machine is on the floor 😄 just gotta take a better angled picture for the dopamine on social media 😄
reduces fps
i should say limits
limits fps in games therefore making gpu take less power therefore less heat
i think
im so afraid of gigabytes reputation online, i know its probably not that bad, but damn is it daunting
Think of it like a power saver mode, limits performance to a set fps
thats really funny. the dude was saying its a "one click over clock" but didnt explain what it did. i assumed by the name it did like an auto undervolt
my biggest gripe with the 5070's is i dont love any of the brands now that EVGA is gone
guess not
Their gpus are fine just treat them like glassware cos their warranties suck
Well
They suck in US
In AU I wouldn't have minded a gigglebit
GB here is actually not bad lol
but I have an MSI mobo that had a reputation and it's been stellar, granted I havent done anything with it other than plug it in
my biggest gripe with the 5070 is that it is a 4070 super in disguise
well yeah that too, but who's paying $1800 for 4070s
if i was going to get a 5070ti id probably aim for an MSI
I'd take any at msrp and nothing more
but my wishlist for the 9070 is down to the hellhound, red devil, pure and pulse.
i have the white swift wishlisted on NE but thatll never be a reality
I debated a red devil
ive accepted that I am paying $750-800 for one of these cards, so Im going to get one of the ones i like
I could get away with it, but that gemstone from the demon cauldron marketing is a severe turnoff lmfao
If i get another chance at a mercury, I will probably eat the cost there too
powecolor using chatgpt
Id go for a nitro but the power connectors are a turnoff for me
i think most of the 9070s are pretty mid in terms of looks
honestly this is real
Best looking is pulse/pure by a mile
i liked the sapphire pure but i never caught a restock
i don't like the champagne nitro+
xfx made them weird this time round
the hellhound spectral when it comes out will be nice
i think the backplates on most of the cards look better than the actual cards
My favourite rn is pulse pure for sure
Though the xfx ones with rgb I see why they did that now
You can't tell there's any rgb strip until it turns on
It's supposedly very well hidden
excluding the waifu cards of course, ill shame anyone who has those
but the coolers are mildly interesting....if you like pink and sea shells
also just noticed the waifu cards are $900
Sea salt included
annoys me that the swift is different prices in different colors depending on the site
$130 more for white or black is a joke
i like the pure but not sure if i want to be locked into a white build
do a panda build
such a cool backplate
I pick up the pulse soon
im contemplating it, i have a ton of dust in my house so it will look a lot less dirty if i do a white build
i grabbed the steel legend at MSRP. wanted the pusle but this is all that was left so i took it MSRP is MSRP (shrug)
lol i have the steel legend MOBO so itll match
the colors are offputting to me, it reminds me of old CRT style tvs when the connection cuts out and it gets all weirdly colored
The fans don't look like that unless you try LOL
its a weird choice to show the colors like that tbh
You can set a normal colour I'm sure
Asrock does it on absolutely everything
Lmfao I don’t care if they are off long as the card works
theyre just clear
Would sell 10x better if they didn't even show rgb in marketing

pretty solid in a white RGB build
why cant i buy the 9070xt rn or the 5070?
First time?
This is how GPU launches are now, get lucky or wait 6 months
Or be rich and just buy off scalpers
You can also buy a bundle on Newegg and get a PSU you don't need
Lmao hey at least the psu is strong enough for the GPU
Tbh the Corsair psus aren't bad either
They're a tier on cultist network
Blue and gold tier
They're just not $120 psus
There's a new list
ZTT list
Cultists is out of date
Has some firebombs listed incorrectly as well
I bought one of the bundles earlier but cancelled, if I'm gonna pay that much I'll just buy one of the more expensive cards
They had some reaper bundles for $680, should've just done that
link?
I'm sure it's cause it's tied to a business but I swear the mods in this server are the least cringe of any discord I've been in lol
Gigabyte RTX 5080s are available rn on Newegg.
Oh boy only $1600
💀
why, thank you
crazy
It's strange seeing mods act normal and be relatable 😂
Yep lmao
Fr lol
Hm why yes
I thought about it for a brief second
Nahh
At most I'd spend $1100 for one
Not $1600
I was looking at eBay 5070ti sold listings just for fun
And it's ridiculous how much people are paying for them
It's why scalpers are so prevalent, the whales outspend everyone else no matter the medium
Think it's largely in part cos most of us know each other for ages now and we're largely self-regulated
Lol
They also don't pay us

I'll recommend anything if it even looks mildly worth it
Free worms? Hell yeah
Let's go fishing maybe
I'm used to being insulted and berated by mods for everything
Yep
You said cpu in the gpu channel
BANNED
And its so refreshing for it to not happen here haha
It's fun when mods patronize you over opinions about things that can't be proven one way or another
Been in a few discords like that, I personally try to avoid sparking stupid interactions
I might step in a lot to give my two cents but I don't mind free speech or different opinion if it's not like, blatantly bad lol
Not even talking from a mod POV just in general
Cos everything in PC space is ultimately subjective under any objective means
"There are no bad products, only bad prices" - Anandtech (Someone mentioned this recently)
Yeah wanna get on my goat fast? Do that lol
It might be something we only say here haha
"Get on my goat" means like, "tick me off"
Here the phrase is "get your goat", it's always interesting seeing regional differences like that.
9070xt doesnt like wukong
also nvidia reportedly announcing new 5X cards tomorrow, while not being able to maintain any level of supply for the existing cards. nice
Yeah wukong is a terrible sticking point for amd with RT involved
Tragically bad honestly
So question about upscaling. It If I were to use upscaling at quality settings at 4k could I expect to get something near the render of 1440? Ik there is overhead cost of the upscaling but I’m curious about a rough estimate
I believe that's because it uses a specifically nGreedAI-optimized branch of the engine
like EXPLICITLY made to run on RTX cards
that kinda stuff seeps into my mind when looking at AMD gpus
I mean IMO the game itself is pretty crap
I did not enjoy the little I played it
just one of those things where its clear nvidia's market share size
media just hard simped it because it was made in China
media hard simped it because it was good lol
a lot of media was against it because it didnt have enough DEI type stuff
AAA games in general largely suck anyway lately
still has a 96% on steam with almost 1 million reviews
they either:
-run like 💩
-uninspired in gameplay and content
-end up filled with microtransactions/battlepasses/subscriptions
Some do all three lmao
Yeah, I dont really expect any games to run well anymore
4k at quality upscaling renders at 1440p but the end result is image quality between 1440p and 4k
interesting, either all the bundles sold out at 4am EST or they pulled them and are going to change something
But the nvidia drivers are more staaaaaable ||/s||
The prices have been removed to me
virtually no drops today, the well has dried up
Ok and performance would give something between 1080 and 4k then?
combo wombo's are back
Performance is slightly worse than 1440 and memory usage is a little higher due to overhead from the processing
Oh cool ok so not the worst thing in the world if there was a few games that needed it.
I’m trying to decide if I wanna commit to a 4k display. I’m kinda leaning towards it with the 9070xt. I don’t play a ton of triple A games and I’m not against using FSR (especially seeing how good it’s looking currently) I also don’t use RT
I'm currently doing mental gymnastics over this as well lol
1440 vs 4k?
Currently I use 1440p IPS displays, but wanted to jump to OLED. I am unsure if I should go for 27" 1440p or 32" 4K with the 9070 XT. I only really see benchmarks at ultra settings. This GPU seems like it could be a 4K card but also debatable. I haven't seen medium settings or FSR performance I guess
Ngl with 16 gigs vram, id lean more into 1440p
But both are possible np
You can give it a couple of days and usually people will do the most random benchmarks on YouTube for new cards and check them out
^
I'd lean towards 1440p OLED, you do not get much more out of the extra pixel density at 4k, and the main upgrade will still be switching to OLED
For sure
That's what I was thinking. Best performance out of the 1440p resolution with the big step to OLED
1440 is still extremely good, my literal only complaint is 1440p is a bit more prone to aliasing
Other than that hardly much reason to pick 4k
Text too ig
But
I feel like a small downside is that media isn't always made for 1440p, usually it'll either be 1080p or 4k, but 4k -> 1440p generally looks fine
4k into 1440p is fine yee
Honestly i wish 1440p was more standardized on general media than 4k
It would be nice but 4k is already such an entrenched standard in TVs and monitors already that I don't see it happening much
1000000% my exact boat. I don’t want OLED tho lol
I'm just not sure the 9070 XT pushes enough frames to justify the jump yet. 1440p would be solid though
Obviously it never will, ill just feel sad about it
Would not consider 4k if you're not considering 1440p OLED lol
1440p144+ IPS is like half the price of 4k144+ IPS, the only thing that makes the price of the monitors similar is 1440p OLED being similar to 4k144+ IPS
I would rather have a 1440p 180hz OLED than a 4k 240hz IPS panel
I already have 1440p 165hz so the question really was could the card do do 4k at like medium settings no Rt and FSR
I would too but yea
A lot of the 1440p oleds are 240hz as well iirc
I'm happy with 1440p OLED, I don't have any concerns with getting higher pixel density
1440p OLED is such a sweetspot in so many places it's genuinely hard to beat
I don't see much of a reason to get a 4k monitor unless you're editing (4k tv is understandable)
Dont know if im ready to do OLED. Ik burn in protections exist but idk gotta let that go i guess
I'm as lazy as can be with burn in protection and we'll see how long it takes for me to get burn in lol
At least not in a time period that matters
Just remember that rtings found that image burnt on for MONTHS with the same exact thing were mostly recovered from a refresh cycle
i have a g80SD and I love the monitor
Fair enough. Which 1440 oleds would you guys recommend I’ll look into some. I also think the white pixel oleds are gonna be out later this year (if I remember correctly)
Ill also say burn in tests are usually done at brightnesses that people never really use
Just dont blast that screen to anything insane
look up the rtings reviews
also if youre on a budget, look at fb marketplace
got a $1200+ G80SD essentially brand new in box for 700
Modern OLEDs' lifespans under normal use will last around the same time as any other monitor when it comes to burn in
Ight will do. I don’t use FB (any social media really)
facebook marketplace is so OP man
got a viperV3 pro for $50, apex pro mini wired for $40, headset is a cloud 3 wireless for $70
can save so much money
Also most people who are buying oled monitors also have dark backgrounds on browsers, discord etc
if you have $ to throw then you can get new but yeah
Yea I force dark page on everything
Gamer peripherals 😨 (although at least theyre the nicer quality ones, not bad choices for rgb hell)
Buying used tho is the route for sure
tbh its my first setup and i just wanted the best of the best
God i saw a pair of original sennie HD600s going for 200 on marketplace with minor foam damages and i was so sad i couldnt buy it
hey @craggy pier had a question, so I have a gigabyte 9070xt arriving this saturday, i have a 750w corsair gold power supply that currently has 2 split 6x2 cables running out of it
since my new gpu requires 3, would i have to put another wire in the power supply or
could i just get away with using an adapter or something that allegedly comes with the GPU?
If you can use 3 separate cables, that's the best case scenario, if not, use 1 single cable and 1 daisy chained cable
no idea what daisy chained means, but i'll take a look into it
@red hamlet would also appreciate your help
Notice how they're all connected together. They're daisy chained
What exact PSU do you have? Rm750e? Rm750x? Tx750m? We can just point to the exact cable lol
Gotcha, I was moreso asking about which cable to use
this^
Yeah haha
I already have the two split cables plugged in that were powering my old 7800xt
just wondering what i need for the third connection
Gotcha so triple 8-pin
Did you get a third 8-pin or 6+2-pin connector with your RM750e?
This one, with 2 separate 8 pins on one end, this is the daisy chained 8 pin cable
so this is the other one that i have, the extra
would this work? the power supply comes with two of these: https://assets.corsair.com/image/upload/f_auto,q_auto/v1/akamai/pdp/rm-2021/cables/pcie.png
yes
That should be the one in the image
You can have the extra 6+2-pin connection hanging off. It doesn't have to be plugged into the GPU
or do I need to order another one of these^
so the one in the link at the top is good?
They're the same
oh gotcha
You will be using 1 cable with 8 pin on the PSU side to 1 8 pin on the GPU side, plus 1 cable with 8 pin on the PSU side to 2 8 pins on the GPU side
lol you're talking about this, aren't you?
I don't even see the difference. No point in showing two different images lol
Apparently one of them is just shorter
I guess my question is, is there any difference between this split cable and a 4+4 cable?
If they're both for PCIe devices (should be labelled for you), then no, no difference
yeah one of them says PCLE
gotcha sounds good, thanks a ton guys
my friend was the one who built the pc for me, going to be interesting opening the back up to access trhe power supply and stuff
4+4 is for CPU only
Card arrives friday
6+2 is for pcie only
i have a 4+4 that says PCIE
You should have two of these
Yup I have two
Yeah just use both of those
Wait pause
There will be a 6+2-pin dangling from the GPU (this is fine. There's just no power going to that plug lol)
Spec sheet said 1 daisy chain 1 non- daisy chained
I don't think I have any that has 2 daisy chained together
At least from what I'm looking at
I think I'll open this thing up on Friday the day my card comes and take a look
I mean if you have two cables that split into two 6+2-pin cables, then you're good
If not, you'll have to get another cable
This is the cable that the reviewer found in the box for rm750e, double check.
You need two of those
Yeah, let me check and see
You need one of those plus either another one of those or a single 8 pin to 8 pin
I already have another 8pin x 8 pin, if nothing else I could just use that right?
Yeah
