I was one of those victims
like what are we looking at that cant be pc right?
It's wilds delivering that nostaglic ps2 experience yo
but how was that even signed off on
They knew it would sell anyway
sad that its come to that
and this is why i get to rest easy knowing my money aint getting wasted LOL
because i dont buy on fomo
I wait a few months for every game now
I have zero trust
Has capcom officially said anything about this?
calling it elden ring syndrome
to bad there arent more studios like larian, GGG
I'll be honest idk
day 1 they were telling ppl to be sure to have the latest drivers
@craggy pier yo
the monitor u recommended me
this is my current one
Dell S2721HGF 144Hz curved gaming monitor built with AMD FreeSync Premium technology ensures a stutter-free and tear-free gaming experience. Equipped with a 27 inch screen, the Dell S2721HGF curved gaming monitor displays an incredibly smooth, detailed Full HD resolution (1920 x1080 pixels) at a ...
is it even much of an upgrade
Atleast I didnt pay full price lol
its 1080..
now, why LMAO
i wasnt paying attention but im about 90% sure he recd a 1440
oh no, does that mean its bad
its not the same resolution
oh is that the one you already own?
ohhhhhhhhh
if youre asking if you should buy that, not with a 32 foot pole
yes
now im the one that is braindead...
(facepalm)
youd definitely enjoy an upgrade w/ your 9070xt
i think its the non xt
regardless
even on my gre it almost maxes out 1440p value
on a 9070xt you hard chillin good
or 9070
just turn that 1080p into a second monitor
yeah its the non xt, but like is it even a worth upgrade, that mlknitor i currently have, and then this one u told me to get
thats the setup im rocking, 1440p main 1080p secondary
its way more value than anything else you could pair with your 9070 honestly
how dumb of a purchase is my current monitor?
it cant be that abd
bad*
if your cpu can run ofc
how old is it?
my cpu is gonna be the 9700x
maybe likee
4 years
i think
nearly 4 years
at least 2 years is what i knowo
just ask ping @ thetruebacca the day you plan on buying your cpu for a link to 7700 off ali
its official
nah itd be fine then
not the craziest value at the time but still plenty good
i already bought it
at microparts
See if you can return it
what would that chip be
7700
Its marginal loss in perf, thats better suited for your 9070
Hm fair
Your call really
I do adobe and blender on a 7600x no prob
can it run papas pizzeria
💀 yea probably
what about 2048
That game, I remember playing it in class.
lol thats wild, looking at the 9070xt prices two cards both selling on amazon by scalpers one being 1400 the other being 1800
Yeah the msrp ones got sniped fast
I got it added to cart like 5 times but failed over here
I was logged in and everything
I have a gigabyte aorus master 4090, got it for around 1950 around 2 years ago, its currently going for 4k. my heart goes out to the peeps looking to upgrade their cards in this current market
Stay with that
I have a suprim I got for 1750
siiiiiiiiiiiick
thats absolutely absurd
Yeah man, 4090 owners made bank this launch
Stay on that card there's nothing worth upgrading to rn outside of a 7800XT, 7600 or msrp non existent launch stock
that and imaginary cards LOL, there totally wasnt a 5000 series launch
why the 7800xt is going for 1100 is beyond me
I see them for 520-530
The only card that seems stable rn
found one for 489 lol
used tho
so nevermind
i clicked on the link from pc part picker for the card thats supposedly for 1100, the price on amazon showed 489. the 1100 price is because it was coming from germany
Yeah it's messed up rn
There's some refurbished cards floating around
Like a 490$ 6950xt gaming x trio earlier
man i just dont know if i could trust refurbished cards. I feel like you're playing triple roulette
We've had very rare issues with refurbished
More common you get doa ram or power cables lol
Zotac for example has lots of refurbished 40 series, their stock originally was sent in pretty rudimentary boxes
Had one card arrive bent
sheeeeeeeeeesh
yikes
4080 btw
thats even worse lol sheeeeesh
its surprising at how people treat their products so poorly for the amount of money they spend on it
The ones handling it get paid basic wages
Capitalism at it's finest hour
Lol
But this is why warranties and replacement legislation exists, they get amended in these situations
ahhhh gotcha
Ye it exists for these things especially
Laws that go beyond warranty to protect a buyer
too bad they dont protect against scalping
Unfortunately lol
huh?
I like the left one honestly
Left one reminds me of 7000 reference
yeah thats what i thought when i first saw the promo art
the side facade looks like the reference 9070xt
but it just isnt it
wish they made those cards lol
Hasn't
Nice paper launch by Newegg on the 9070XT. I was on at 8AM EST and nothing was in stock.
they did an announcement here yesterday for another drop in the late afternoon and pretty much no one saw them ever go in stock
if only they had a system they could have used to discourage botting and scalpers, a lottery of sorts, call it a shuffle or something........oh wait
even better was being charged for a card from a successful order then having it cancelled an hour later
but this is the reality of online ordering, if you cant write code or buy a bot/script for purchasing from someone, youll never stand a chance
because the retailers refuse to do anything to help the consumer because to them the money is all the same
The honest buyer always gets screwed. I saw people price gouging the 9070XT for $1,500.
Yep, GPU market will be like this for the rest of time
Just saw an article that the 9070XT for $599.99 MSRP won’t last long. But we all knew that already.
one of the AMD executives said MSRP will remain but only for certain areas
it'll likely only be available at MSRP in person at micro centers
OverClockers in the UK said they cant afford to sell them at MSRP after the first shipment
lol newegg already raising past msrp
listed at 599 yesterday
Oh wow
my gre sitting pretty will marginally less performance
7090xt honestly isnt even great value for most people purely because of the effort it takes to even grab one
unless youre a lucky microcenter customer
though also to be fair, we probably would have a shortage of amd gpus if they did sell at msrp
as long as the prices drop to msrp or lower after all this craze ends, i'll be happy
i might even upgrade at that point
there was going to be a shortage either way
gpus will never be readily available on launch
and the price wont go back to msrp for months, if ever
AI will make GPU's scarce forever
Yeah this is just what happens when one of the two big players has a paper launch
So got my coil whine to go away.. had to turn the shadows and water quality to low. Everything else can stay at ultra kinda insane
Also random question I have an old 1060 6gb that I kept from my first build. Is it worth selling? Seems like new they are listed for 350$ but that seems ridiculous
depends on how willing you are to deal with FB Marketplace/Reddit/Ebay
Someone with a 5090 might buy it for a physx card lol
Morons buy it for that price 😭
So games that use physx run worse on 5xxx cards than on older ones?
How much can I sell my old gigabyte 2080 oc for?
Yes
Well to be more specific, a subset of physx games run worse
It's confusing. There's hardware physx vs software physx, 32bit cuda vs 64bit cuda. People have made lists though, just google if you want to know which specific games would run worse
Damn I wonder why they haven't been able to make it run as well virtually
Thanks, I don't think any of the games I play or am planing on playing use physx though
They could do it, they just don't want to support 32bit cuda anymore
And by "worse" what you really mean is "unplayable" because it runs at 10 fps because they need to process the physics on the CPU in the most inefficient way possible
To be fair, that's how physx always worked with AMD cards
Don't get me wrong it sucks that they didn't it this soon and without telling people beforehand, but I don't think its that big of a deal
You can't play Batman Arkham Asylum on a 5090
I call that a moderately big deal, imo
The physics were always broken in that game to begin with
I thought you could turn physx off
Fair I don’t even use Fb that’s why I never got rid of it to begin with. Figured if I could get like 100-200 back for it that would be decent to put towards either a new GPU or monitor
That only disables some of the features like cape flowing
i cant stand selling electronics, hate dealing with people trying to scam/trade or are just generally braindead when it comes to etiquette
yea thats fair. ill just mount it on the wall or something lol
You sound like a good candidate for a Jawa.gg sale. They take care of most of the logistics and have better selling policies than eBay.
That might be something I will look into, I am terrified of selling higher value items on ebay. I feel like people can just say it never arrived or was broken and get their money back leaving me with nothing
Since I couldn't wait for the GPUs, I decided to sell my current PC and put that money towards buying a pre built (there are plenty of pre builts with 9070s and 9070 XTs for sale)
👀
fomo gonna fomo
I'd probably be way better off just waiting but I'm just not the most patient for this kind of thing
what are the specs of your current pc that you sold/selling
6700 XT, 5700X3D, 32GB 3200 DDR4, 1TB SSD
and the prebuilt specs and where is the prebuilt from?
From Skytech via Newegg.
https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-000Z-002B0?tpk=1&Item=3D5-000Z-002B0
It is if I'm selling my current PC to offset the cost. RAM can be upgraded later. The massive GPU upgrade greatly outweighs the slight CPU downgrade
i cant speak as i have a heavy bias against intel cpus these days
I wouldn't necessarily consider 6700xt to 9070 "massive"
i would think it would be quite a leap
most benchmarks from the reviews didnt even include a 6700
And keep in mind ddr5 doesn't run 4 sticks well, so you'd need to sell the 16fb and buy 32
although i see now its not an xt 9070
I've looked at comparisons between the 14400F and the 5700X3D and they're not that far apart aside from specific games like Baldur's Gate 3, but even then 14400F seems to beorenthan enough
It's decent for sure but not worth panic selling your already capable PC and buying a prebuilt
its less about what is supposed to be able to do for me and more about reliability, ive heard so many bad things about intel chips in the last few years it heavily causes bias in me
Heck, with a 5700x3d you could just put a 9070xt in there
A base 9070 is still a pretty big jump as far as I can tell.
it is, but all signs point to the 9070 only existing to upsell the xt
True but I'm selling my PC at $1000 so for me the new PC is really around $350. Compare that to trading in my GPU for a 9070 XT and I'm paying less overall. Only a few 9070 XTs would even fit my current PC, and those happen to be the ones that the scalpers are upcharging the most.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qvVf2x
this gets you a better cpu, better ram (32gb), better power supply, likely better storage, and a 9070xt (@$700)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 9070 XT, DIYPC ARGB-N1 MicroATX Mid Tower
lol newegg doesnt even tell you the mobo type in these prebuilts, wild
Issue there is that I'd have to wait for the GPU, at that point I wouldn't even need to be doing this
what is the rush exactly? do you game professionally or have a job that relies on your machine?
Ok so bro is just falling for FOMO
Waste your money however you want then, I'll peace out
Like I said I'm just very impatient. I know it's stupid of me but I'd rather pay a little extra to get it now than wait for months for the chance of possibly getting it for cheaper.
So yeah I guess it is FOMO
To each their own, Im the last person who should talk about fomo as Ive made many fomo purchases in my life that I wish I could take back.
That’s pretty cold and unfeeling Microcenter…
I know it’s just an automated message. Still hurts tho!! Lol
microcenter tryna get u to buy over msrp
how they be looking
I had one of those ordered yesterday too, but cancelled it as well
Apparently newegg canceled a lot of 7090/xt orders, i think to put em in prebuilts and bundles if I'm not mistaken?
I had mine cancelled 45 minutes after ordering yesterday morning, my order was in a few minutes after the launch
which is especially ironic since they released more cards later in the day
Okay nerds
Do I un install and clear my pc of all nvidia stuff and drivers before putting this sucker in?
?ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
need? no
recommended? yes
same.. and wait did they really? thats total BS.
yes they made an announcement here and right after the announcement they were all gone and no one even saw any
so they got botted most likely
wow. thats really bs. i very much woulda rathered have my purchase "held in que" like i got the confirmation email and went about my day an hour later told nope and then everything was sold out. and i had no chance to do anything else
they shouldve used their lottery system shuffle, instead of encouraging botting and scalping
The shuffle only works when there's limited stock available. There were several hundred GPUs available, possibly over 1000.
The bots are just that fast though
and yet, most people didn't get one
Okay all set up, running mh wilds ultra settings ray tracing on at 165 -195 fps steady no stuttering !
That's why I ordered a second 5070TI on launch day. I was worried one of my orders would get canceled
i probably shouldve just kept the magnetic air and ate the cost
but im hoping if this nonsense goes on long enough ill just lose interest
dont need a new gpu to sit in discord all day
Are there any signs this GPU situation improves in the near future?
no, just empty words from AMD reps saying 'we will restock soon'
and since theyre being scalped to hell already, itll be several months before they stop being botted for every shipment
Feels weird to just have nothing on the market outside of scalpers these days
thats what happens when retailers enable that behavior
and people paying scalpers
Yea I refuse to give them money. I'd rather play in 1080p
a few sapphire pulse cards hit amazon earlier for $950 from a scalper and they all sold instantly
seems people will pay for the XT way over MSRP but not the base models
the non XT asus cards are listed for $1800
Always baffles me because I don't know anyone who would pay something stupid like that
fomo makes people do crazy things
there was someone in here earlier who sold his entire pc for a prebuilt just to get a 9070 non xt
it was an upgrade over his existing machine, but not good value
but he flat out said fomo makes him do stuff like that
i had the magnetic air ordered for $850 because i fomo'ed, but people here convinced me it's stupid to pay that much and i cancelled it
btw do you have a microcenter near you?
Unfortunately no. I have a Best Buy but they are useless
ah bummer, microcenter is the only realistic way to get one without getting mega lucky, waiting or buying/writing a bot/script to auto buy
and its going to be the only way to get them at msrp
Yea that's what it seems like. In person is definitely a better option to combat the bots
and newegg already raised the price on one of the only models available for the msrp price
ive yet to see any of the msrp cards on amazon even for a second
so only three cards online for under $700 realistically
everything else will be $730+
Not a great time for GPUs lol
and if you dont like gigabyte it goes down to 2
its real annoying how cards come up on amazon and have all the purchase options but it just fails every time
i should go find a bot to buy
so DDU didnt remove a lot of nvidia stuff, why
still has al the containers and everything
To me, that’s AMDs downfall. The card will sell well at $600 but if only $750+ variants are available then it’s game over. When the 7900xt hit $650 over the summer they started selling.
I think most gamers dont actually use data now, they just want the 'better' card and dont care about value proposition or cost per frames. With how quickly theyre selling out, even the most expensive models, I dont think most people care about the price enough to let ~$200 sway them.
It seems similar to games with cash shops. Voting with your wallet is basically useless because whales will always outspend the rest.
Everyone in this server told me I was dumb for paying $850 for the magnetic air, but everyone in a different server I am in says I was stupid for cancelling the order.
I thought "vote with your wallet" was a meme
and since Nvidia shows no signs of improving their situation, all the fomo people are going to flock to these cards.
it pretty much is
In hindsight we all should have just bought during black friday. If you need the upgrade I can see someone buying a card if they were able to actually get one purchased. I am sitting on a 3070 8GB right now, so it would be nice to upgrade. I wish they would have kept the previous generation around instead of stopping everything all together
If you were forced into online purchases, who is the best online retailer these days?
for gpus youre basically tied to Newegg or Amazon
you can get lucky on sites like B&H photo or Best Buy, but theyre very few and far between
There's a lot of combining factors that get us here, its not as simple as "gamers don't care about price"
Sure, I wasnt talking about how we got here.
I was addressing TopCorn's comment about how it's game over for AMD if the only available cards are the $750+ ones.
Oh I read that as more for AMD gaining marketshare over Nvidia
So I didnt realize thats what you were responding to. My mistake!
lol no worries
the gpu market is absurdly complicated, especially with how demanding AI is for GPU's
I think GPUs will squeeze the market more than crypto ever could
Its why Microsoft and Facebook want to hook up their AI to a nuclear reactor
Yeah I think its just less clear now. Before we could see miners competing for the same cards as gamers, now the competition is in fab time
That's how we end up with Nvidia's paper launch
yeah and the scalpers/bots have had several releases now to refine their system
I just wish retailers/manufacturers cared more, but I completely understand why they dont.
I made two mistakes. Firstly, I made a mistake in thinking anyone living in the middle of Kansas would be interested in buying a gaming PC. Second was buying the new PC before selling the first one. So most likely, I will now be stuck with two PCs. At least I get to have a 9070....
one of the most bruh moments of all time
seek help for that fomo
also if you ordered that PC today you can cancel it
It says it's too late to cancel (can't cancel when it's at "packaging")
I'll manage. This way I could put one of them in the living room or something
And who knows maybe someone will buy my PC in the next few days. Only just put up the listing this morning. I'm just impatient
Is there anything I need to know to use this site? It looks like I can get around $500 for my GPU, wouldn't mind giving it a shot.
It's because they still make money no matter who buys it
Nothing in particular. It's pretty easy.
They'll take a cut of the sale, like any other auction style site
It's like every time you look the price gets higher...
Yup
It's just wild
Like I definitely want to get either one of them
But there's no way in hell I'm spending $900 for a 5070ti lmao
Most I'd do is $50-100 over msrp if it's a good version of the card
But that one is $940 and it's not even a high end version of it
The prime is supposed to be a MSRP model right?
I think the OC prime started at $900
Oh really? Still pretty expensive for a 5070ti
Asus prices have mostly been high from the start
Asus too 🤢
Yep
There’s a smaller chain of “computer and electronics” stores in Texas called “Altex.” To me its more of an Installer’s supply house masquerading as a store. One of these stores is on my way home. Decided i’d stop in just in case there was a small chance they had gotten any 9070’s. As soon as i walked in, i was set upon by a salesman. “Anything i can help you find?”
“Just thought i’d stop in and see if just maybe you guys got some 9070’s in”. “Oh, uh.. maybe. <starts looking behind the counter where some motherboards are> have you found any 9070’s in here before?” 😂 “No, they just came out yesterday.” Found the one shelf that had any video cards on it. The highest/newest thing on it being a 3060ti. The only amd there was a vision tek radeon hd. Lol
Got plenty of server racks, chassis’s, UPS’s, cat 6 cables in every color, tools out the wazoo, etc. and the token ‘gamer’s gear!!’ A chair, a monitor, actually a decent selection of cases, tho!
So yeah, supply house disguised as a storefront, lol
lmao
Just in case anyone didn't get this email
Okay so March 10th 1pm est got it lol
I hope I manage to find an MSRP card
The power color reaper is a good card right?
It's the only one left at MSRP besides a white xfx swift, an asrock and a gigabyte one
Bc the black xfx swift, Asus prime and Sapphire pulse are up to $729
Power color is supposed to be good, I think the red devil is the highest model
But I know next to nothing about that brand
I almost got a red devil on launch but it was way to expensive $799
That's what I've seen too
That it's very good
Yeah the red devil is one of the most expensive. I've heard the MSRP on the more fancy models is higher than $599
Like the magnetic air xfx is supposed to basically be the best cooler which is why it's $850
I don't see how Monday will be any different, the bots will just scoop it all up
Yup, but that's way too much for me hahaha
I've been able to almost fully check out with 5070tis but they're all to expensive
So I've just let them go
Like $979 for a gigabyte one
Or $950 for an Asus prime
If I find one at less than $800 I'd buy it instantly haha
Yep sadly it'll be launch all over again but more expensive lol
All my brother in law had to do to get an msrp card was get to Microcenter an hour early. So jealous of people with MCs
hell i even got one at 3:00 pm at MC
Are you serious ab the pulse?
Also jealous lol
I think it would be cheaper to buy a plane ticket to a mc location and back than pay a scalper haha
Yeah it's my favorite one of the "MSRP" cards
And yeah it went up in price at least on newegg
How does anybody even beat out all the bots on Newegg?
Which card did he get?
Damn that’s bs MC still restocking at msrp. I spoke to a rep today he said he doesn’t know if it has an end date but they do not plan to adjust prices as of now
Reaper
Damn wish I lived near one
Word I have family near a few. It’s cheaper to buy one there and pay for shipping
We sponsored ourselves: Grab a GN Modmat, solder mat, dice kit, or shirt on the store! https://store.gamersnexus.net/
We've spent multiple videos covering NVIDIA's partners' absurd GPU launches, including the Dark Obelisk, Midnight Kaleidoscope, and other oddly named video cards. Today, it's time to cover AMD's partners' RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT m...
Write your own bot that's better
Oh, nice
MC will be the only place to get these cards at MSRP, count on it
100000% seems AMD has been trying to make this happen for public appearences
Unfortunately AMD doesn't really control the pricing, retailers/AIB's kinda do what they want
I wonder if they can keep the prices lower because they haven't sold as many (compared to the big online retailers)
I think the rumor is the rebate thing from AMD is only for the first x number of cards sold
I saw a screenshot from Microcenter where cards that are 750-800 online are still $599. Im wondering if all online retailers are raising the price and MC is the only place following the MSRP expectation
or they just dont care about making the money and are selling at cost
Apparently the retailers all bought these from the AIBs at a higher price. The $600 msrp seems like something AMD decided very last minute
I know hahaha
yea but i thikn for MC they are holding that for the "MSRP" models
lol 5070ti in my cart on newegg for $990............tempting
the price to performance isnt there but.. to be fair if your ok with spendign the 990 you can always try for another 30 days to get a 9070xt
i cant even look at it. my dumb a$ will be tempted to buy it too lol
when i removed it from the cart it said 220+ people had it in their cart
if it wasnt gigabyte i probably wouldve bought it
i cant believe how much these things are
like the fact that the 5080 is selling for 1500$... i mean that means i could pay like 1200 for the 9070xt and its still a good deal. jeez
huh they added another $599 card
how is that 70ti still available lol
hilarious that the 4080 super is better than a 5070 ti
finally it sold out
now i can stop being tempted
Yep
I wouldn't get a 5070ti unless it's less than 800 lol
lol well thats never happening
Ik hahahaha
I'll keep holding on for an MSRP 9700xt 🥲
With GPU prices being ridiculously high. I'm needing to reconsider my choice for my GPU upgrade. I want to at least enjoy 1440p @ 60fps with path tracing for all current and hopefully until the next GPU release. I'm still using the RTX 3090 and is unfortunately not enough for 60fps. Should I buy a 4090 or wait till I'm able to purchase a 5090 at MSRP or even the 9700XT @MSRP?
path tracing or ray tracing?
Path tracing is part of RT, but its an optional selection right?
ray tracing = 1 bounce
path tracing = a bunch more light bounces; much more accurate
movies use path tracing, but they take a full day per frame back in the day to process
Right wich requires a beefier card than what I have now 😭
This is about all the info I can provide, this is 1440p with RT
My 5070TI cannot do path tracing in Indiana Jones at 1440p
I'm surprised a 4080 is up there
I imagined 4090
here's a different chart but only for one game
It's from the 5070TI review, so I'm guessing they didn't think it was worth comparing to something like the 4090
9070xt review*
but yeah
also unless you're buying used, plan to spend ~4k for a 4090
And if you're buying used, expect to pay at least 2k
Once gpus are out of production, prices skyrocket
ffs
most of the 5x cards pail in comparison to the 4X cards so its kind of a crappy situation
I'm willing to pay the price, but not at 60% of my entire PCs cost
it's only one subset of data but like lol, 5070ti shouldnt be below a 4080, especially considering the cost
What really?
Considering 3070 ti>2080 ti, 2070 super>1080 ti, and 1070 ti>980 ti, the 5070 ti is an embarrassment
Same with the rest of 5000 series
5090 is cool but not at 2k
Well, maybe at 2k
i was about to drop 1k on a 5070 but once i saw how far below the 4080 it is i couldnt
One stayed in stock for close to an hour at $550 earlier from msi
a 5070ti?
sorry i shouldve added the ti
Nah you're good
there was a white 5070ti that was in stock for almost 30 minutes about an hour ago
$989
gigabyte seems to be the only one coming available frequently lol
Ew 899
amazon keeps getting cards but it feels like getting a card from amazon is actually impossible
Yep I've seen a lot of 5070's and 5070ti's in stock todat
Ewwww
Wich GPU would you guys suggest for 1440p with Full RT? That's not ridiculously over priced
4090 or 5090 are basically your only answers to "full RT"
there's 9070 non XT's all over amazon for $1200-1800
Lmaoo
Path tracing is a gimmick rn, barely anything can feasibly run it, barely any game uses it
you could argue basically all GPU's are overpriced now
This again hahaha
sure the 9070XT is a great price, but that MSRP is actually a lie
and ill die on that hill
if your MSRP is only feasibly obtainable in a single store chain in one country in a very few subset of states, its not the real MSRP, its the sale price for anyone who was lucky enough to live near that store chain
Path tracing has a wildly variable performance hit. I can do Cyberpunk path tracing no problem
PT is a total gimmick
Yup fully agree
who knows what the future holds but if i buy a card this cycle it may be the last time i build a pc
Hell I'll even say this: Some traditional rendering techniques can make games look good like PT, you just don't see it in AAA slop anymore
I was kind of afraid this would happen. msrp has been fake for months in Nvidia land, now it's team reds turn for fake prices
i think its disingenuous how many people are defending the msrp because it's obtainable at MC
AMD did sell more units at msrp than Nvidia. But that's not saying much
these are the only 2 cards i know of online that still have the actual msrp, and theyll never be obtainable unless they start using shuffle
And there were people getting them from Newegg as well
and they already hiked the price on the other 599 card
i guess best buy has two but GL getting one through them
and i believe they usually make you pickup in person, so again only if you have a store near you
but i havent bought anything through them since the 3X series
hopefully im back from my dentist early enough to watch the bots get all the cards monday
or maybe ill get to order one again only for it to be cancelled
i shouldve kept the quicksilver 9070 xt i had through amazon for $760
Actually wtf one store still has an msrp pulse
Damn if I wasn't also down a phone on my account I could save $50 lmao
damn best buy did a restock of the MSRP cards too
or that might be adding the SKU, not sure
i dont see those Yeston or Acer cards anywhere, must be specific to a certain region
👀
Gross
That looks so nice
That barely even fits
Im really becoming a fan of these glass cases, makes me want to dump my Mesh 2
They had to build the case around the gpu
Is the 12v connector on that faulty like on Nvidia gpus?
Same flawed connector, but I believe sapphire did add fuses and current monitoring
Saw something about that in their marketing
I almost got one of them on launch day
It stayed in stock for like 20 mins
But I was worried about the cable catching fire lol
Oh really?
Looks to just be fused
I don't think the 2nd point was related
Up to 3060 MHz, 16GB/256 bit DDR6. 20 Gbps Effective
And is that enough?
Im coming around to the look of 2/3 of the PowerColor cards, I may try for one of those Monday
Bc I'd like to get a nitro+ if I get another chance
Yeah, they're not too bad
The cheapest one looks pretty good, same as the hellhound
the power draw on the nitro is one of the highest i believe
the Red Devil is the craziest one tho
Ah damn, my psu probably wont be enough then
Has nvidia fixed their drivers?
let me try to find the power draw chart, cant remember where i saw it
this isn't the one I am looking for but it's a start
seems like 320-340w on average
Thanks
Do you think 750w (PSU is a 2018 RM750x I got in 2020) would be fine for it with a 5600x w/o OC
I'll eventually upgrade everything else next year
Thanks let me save these
Yes
From Sapphires website
You could upgrade to a 7600/x, 7/9700x, 78/9800x3d and still be fine on that psu
Thanks again, I really am clueless on calculating wattage
Damn nice
Your system aside from cpu/gpu will use less than 75w, leaving abt 675w for gpu/cpu
675-350=325, plenty for cpu and some headroom
I think I would just stay with the 5600x untill I can buy everything else
If i find a cheap 5700x3d I would get that tho
doesnt shuffle exist? why not just use it until a 'better solution' can be found
But they're nearly extinct now haha
right?
And as for the 12v connector, how do I plug it in? Do they come with an adapter?
Something like a Y for it
x2 6+2pin to x1 12v
Im not sure if the gpu will or not
oh damn it's for x3 8pin lol
i just realized that was in the first screenshot i posted too showing the power watt minimum lol
Sorry haha didn't see it
It isn't all that helpful

yup just saw this on the page
it really does
I'd need to measure if it fits with my radiator haha
yep lol
Oh really?
My current gpu's dimensions are these
The nitro +
It's a pretty big boy haha
It's almost 2 more inches longer
if i cant get an MSRP i might just hold out and wait. ive seen a few videos of people talking about the last few times NVDA has slips like this and Jensen literally walked into meetings saying "who did this to me", i always forget it was literally his company so it seems he takes it personal. They were saying that NVDA typically responds with strong showings afterwards. Also some leaks that AMD might go after the 5080 with a card in Q2-Q3
That's my plan as well
If AMD can make a 5080 competitor for like 799-850 I'd get that.
100% same
hey so trouble shooting question, PC is displaying an image from the GPU but it seems like my system isnt recognizing my GPU any thoughts?
They already have? They didn't even have to release a new card for that
i feel like mounting it vertically inside the case is the best otpion
the m2 to x16 riser has 4 pcie lanes yay :]
8GB!?!
5060 is suggested to be 8gb and 16gb too
But a new one haha
Y’all seen the 9600XT?
gpu can't sag now
Yeah also gonna be 8/16 gb
Idk I think 16 is too much for that card. Wouldn’t be using all of that but lets see how that will play in the future
Also think the 60 cards should be at least 10g
Selling an 8 gig card in 2025 is kinda brutal ngl
There’s only one video and it’s by GN. Literally one person told this story. Steve is credible, but he admittedly heard this 3rd hand himself.
the reference of what jensen said was more kinda funny. and that he might actually take these things personal when things look bad. but I think i recall Jay saying something about "failures" that thye had and then coming back with strong responses 2080TI to the 3080 with pricing and things like that. i could be wrong tho
Jay might have mentioned something similar, I don’t doubt you on that. I am personally not expecting nVidia to change course. They knew there would be a shortage. This is their plan, why would they change it when they are charging whatever they want (I.e, the plan is working as they expected)
they dont HAVE to do anything, but i also do think that this was a launch that people started to realize that NVDA is not the "good guys" and that potentially could hurt them. This of course only happens if AMD keeps up and intel figures out they are an actual company
Arguably AMD already did go after the 5080
The performance difference is REALLY small for how much cheaper it is
Or rather AMD overshot competing with the 5070 Ti by ending up completely whooping nGreedAI in value
Cuz the 5070 Ti is IMO
I think Moores law said that AIBs were getting briefed for a like extreme variant or something
Honestly uncomfortably close in perf to the 5080
You can make an argument at least
isnt this the smallest version of the 80 class weve seen? overly cut down i mean
It's quite cut down iirc yes
The 4080 gets uncomfortably close without MFG
Like within 10%
So realistically a used 4080 is going to destroy it in value
5080 is not even close to worthy upgrade
agreed. hopefully something changes bc being a pc gamer really doesnt feel good on the gpu front rn
Do you guys think the RTX 50 series prices will never go below MSRP?
Most likely
Cause I think the 40 series have yet to do so
nGreedAI has zero reason to lower prices
They have an effective monopoly
If prices change at all
They'll only ever go upwards
So we're stuck at paying scalpers prices?
It's not "scalper prices"
It's pre-scalped by the manufacturer
Scalpers only come in later
Whats a decent price for an Asus RTX 5090 Astral OC with Tax & Shipping included. $5,200?
$3080+tax
I wish I can get that lucky, I doubt I'll ever buy at that price
Should not be paying off and encouraging scalpers when possible lol
I agree with you, but there really isn't anyway for us to get lucky enough
Being near a micro center might be the only way, but even that's a slim chance
I placed a bid on ebay for $4,800
Don't pay scalpers. I refuse to give them anything. Theoretically, scalpers would go away if there were no customers.
Buying from a scalper is almost as bad as being a scalper
Honestly, I started using the HotStock app which hasn't been that useful yet because stuff sells so quickly (probably bots). There is also a discord server NowInStock which can be beneficial. I really just hope it all settles to where we can buy a card when we need and/or want one.
I have joined a bunch of discords and stock tracking apps. I even managed to place a 5090 order at one point. The real issue is the price
It just felt bad looking at the over $3000 charge so I just cancelled
Yea that price tag is hard to swallow for one component. I feel jealous of the people that live near Micro Centers.
At that point it would have been more expensive than my last two builds... combined
lol same
Bro you better hope someone one-ups you because you are feeding the problem if that sale goes through

I live very close to one and within an hour of another
They really need to open better spots
I am near two and there are many states that have 0
Doesnt california have like 3 or 4 locations

At least amd msrp situation isnt as bad as nvidia
But partners are making really silly choices with their models
Idk if this helps you
https://www.zotacstore.com/us/zt-a30820j-10plhr-r
Let me catch my son paying 850 for the xt
$400 3080 12gb
Completely kills amds value proposition with that model
California only has 1 microcenter at the moment. They used to have more, but they couldn't break into the market when Frys was still a thing
Oh I confused the one that says opening as a third one
But thats the second one
Ohh it was new york
Bro they have 4 new york spots
Is it true that newegg is restocking the 9070xt tomorrow?
Pretty sure
Bet thank you
Damn I feel bad for y'all that are looking for the 5090 lol
Does anyone know what's the best kind of 9070 xt to get or are they all pretty similar?
is Galax 4070 for 643 usd a good deal?
whichever one is cheapest
Depends on the market in your country
4070 super is 786.02 to 844.66 usd
Do you need an nvidia card?
7800xt, 7900 gre, and 9070 are worth checking
Think the better way to pose this
What's the pc being used for @little kernel ?
Just games? Any work involved?
Which games or work if you know?
I edit a lot
AE and that stuff
With complicated timeline
And ofc games
yeah ive heard about them but im running out of patience
If they're all more expensive then the 4070 is a fine choice
Just the extra vram on them is nice (and better perf on the gre and 9070)
What country are you in?
9070xt undervolted by 170 mV
saudi arabia
Ah alr, yeah if the 4070 is the cheapest gpu around that performance go for it
6800xt/3080 would be good too if they're cheaper
nah they are way too expensive
no wait not they only the 3080 idk about the 6800xt
this is ridiculous its about 1800 usd to 932
Would have to look on the used market for cards that are no longer in production
Has there been any word on if shuffle will be used tomorrow? Or open season for bots again?
I got a 3080FE for 450 USD
Yeah
Yes but in excellent condition
Box and everything
It ships to
Tommorow
lol now they raised the price of this by $100
12 of 39 cards across all retailers at MSRP
and its actually 11 because newegg changed the price after the video launched
AMD really fulfilling its paper MSRP after its microcenter exclusive paper launch
I'm still not fully settled on this tbh
AU for once had brilliant access to msrp
The absolute 599 cards went fast but we had access to $620 pulse for like 3 days
I sorta am in two minds
Aud?
Joking btw
If only i were australian
Because the rest of the world got it pretty rough
Im struggling to decide what cards to go for today. I know bots will get them all, but I want to focus on only a couple. All the cheaper models have lower clocks and lower power connections. Not sure if I am putting myself at a disadvantage or not.
Aud it was like reaper for 1139 was actual msrp (This wasn't really inflated btw) and 1171 or so for pulse
If you want no real disadvantage, best looking cards to me are xfx swift and sapphire pulse
But they all seem very functional, even the basic stuff like prime seems ok, just not as nice of a bin possibly?
The super premium cards do not look worth, I'd say nitro were it not for the 2x6 connector
The swift looks like the nicest msrp
Xfx was selling the best amd asic chips at the lowest prices during rdna 3
Merc310 is actually fast af at the lowest price lol
Skip quicksilver and red devil
Pure I've seen for like 50 upcharge in some places, it's just a white pulse
Not too bad
Swift is great, reaper fine
Pulse solid
Hellhound solid
Like I said if not for 2x6 the nitro would be the high end pick but alas
Quicksilver would be up there but that price is dumb
Paying for a similar quality but less intelligent design from xfx at a higher price
That would be how I'd interpret all those
I wish both Swift's were the same price
720 is the rough cutoff for XT 660-ish I would say for non xt
Beyond that you can def do better
And I say this cos we don't know what the adjustments are, whether tariffs are involved or not for US price changes
So a broader leeway I'm mentioning here cos that may just be how it is from now on for all cards
Hard to say
Especially with the trigger finger hovering over electronics rn from the white house
Most seem to think the tariffs are already included in the pricing, but I don't know
I have never believed that only hoped lol
even GN says it is in his latest vid
I mean unless you hear it from the horse's mouth tho
I like GN but it's a very rapidly changing situation
He's not textbook perfect (nobody is honestly)
Retailers may just use the tariffs as an excuse
Everyone's trying to gouge the market for every dollar rn
I wish they'd use shuffle today, feels like bots will get it all again
I might give some caution to you here
Given my position, I'd say maybe steer clear of newegg
There's nothing to say they won't cancel orders again
oh yeah my expectations are as low as they can be for today 😄
Try track best buy, local stores, mc if available
Just making sure
My first instinct as well is msrp will be sniped fast
Aim a notch above and you'll improve your chances if it's only a handful extra
That's what I got away with here. Basically 620 pulse. All the 599 cards evaporated in minutes
20-30 is not bad for a guarantee and a preferable model
Oh wow it's probably not far away is it
I just realised the time
Good luck man
Thanks, and thanks for the insights 🙂
You probably already knew all that but yeah mentioning it anyway cos the bots will go for msrp first
how accurate is this?
Good luck y’all
because I heard the prices went up
i doubt we’ll still have $599 cards at all to be honest
Not currently known why, retailers will do anything to milk it
there's only 1 card at 599 left on newegg
Genuinely despicable
Which one?
white xfx swift
Damn I can barely fit the 9070 XT in my current build lol
I messed the measurements slightly
On 2 cases

Capture card covers half a fan lol
This is also pre tariff pricing too
I'll need to go for a "normal sized" variant lmao
I dont think the nitro + fits with my rad
theres no way to confirm this as of right now, many people have claimed these prices include the tariffs
it'll have like a couple mm of clearance with it haha
I don’t believe that for a second
and plenty of people believe it so its just speculative either way
even GN claimed it as fact in a video
this is the cheapest GPU's will ever be again in our lifetime
so its only going to get worse
Sad but true
EVGA got out of the business for precisely this reason
GN also mentions that in his video
at one point they were making $4 per card
Wouldn't do that one anyway cos 16 pin
If 9070 never is available for us due to over demand… what is the next best graphics card? I need a new one for gaming..
7800XT has been reliably 520-ish
About the only one that can be argued rn in the current market
im gonna buy the $850 magnetic air 😄
Is that the best because of the price or performance wise?
Value, at 520 it's largely unaffected by the gpu climate
Everything else has a 10-20% tack-on for the most part
Ok. Thank you. I’m just not quick enough for a 9070. It would’ve been nice.
youre likely quick enough to make an order, but itll just get cancelled 😄
520 is fine for that
Yeah I got the Instock app and this discord hopefully the gods will smile on me lol
isnt the restock 3 hours from now?
Is it?
10AM PST is what the email said
I didn't know I was just posting cos this was the time on launch day
I'm currently shopping cases lol
I'm not even USA man
Paying this much and not getting Fsr 4 is kinda sad
I would have no idea
The idea is that they can't get a new card
7800XT was one of the best value last gen cards
true
Won't beat a 9070 sure, but it's a good settle for second
i feel like settling is worse than waiting, but i guess it depends on the situation
That XFX is like one of the last cards that you can settle on a pre-tariff/50 series chaos price
Lol
Vast majority of the good ones were sold out and settled on a while ago now
Like the 620 7900XT
530 GRE
570 4070S
etc
this is the first time ive seen Copilot beat ChatGPT, it gave me the code with a single prompt too
four prompts and chatgpt still hasnt given me what i asked
Edge kinda a bit based with the copilot attachment tbh
I sometimes use it for google searching cos it parses fast af
its also hilarious you can just selenium which is used for software automation testing
lol what prompt did you guys use
my company has an enterprise license with copilot i just used that 😄
I just said "Write me a code in chromium for buying something online" or something to that effect
for copilot i asked for the code to auto-purchase GPUs from Newegg or Amazon, gave me the full code
It gave me a 4 page setup tutorial
Lol
Yeah it just straight up just handed it over

ChatGPT keeps getting hung up on captchas and cloudflare or getting ip banned
hahahaha
I didn't say anything about gpus
my copilot has morals 😂
Thats interesting, almost identical to my prompt and mine gave me two sets of code
You got the subscriber treatment maybe lol
it must be
is it against TOS for newegg? cause they definitely let bots buy
You slipped on the first sentence
Ima be honest I have no idea? But also, I don't work for them
They don't pay me anything
I would say it's largely "Frowned upon"
But beyond that? I can't barely even shop there man, I don't get to read that ToS lol
Lol
Rip
seems odd since it happens for every release
Ok let's not go filling the chat then with it lol]
Ikr
i didnt post any code 😄
Guess they just get smarter maybe
im not looking to give people an advantage over me 😄
im just waiting for the white swift to get bumped in price leaving no MSRP cards
Which case should I try make work bois
Lian Li SUP01
Or Fractal North
I'm leaning heavy towards north
I think I need to fashion half a loop to use one though

the north has that cool wood front
i saw an insane water cooling build with that yesterday that had copper looking pipes
was one of the most unique builds ive ever seen
Wood goes pretty hard now that you mention it
EK tho
EK ick
Lol
it was similar to this but without the blue and pink
Hey I have one of those gpu blocks
Is mindfactory in germany closing down ?
same 🤞
and is it only new egg or best buy and stuff too?
imagine we’re able to order one just for it to get canceled
MSRP gigabyte bless my sole.
If it would disapear immidiatly I'll try to get the XFX MSRP, one after which I'll try Gigabyte OC one
Tho I really don't want to pay more then MSRP
Happaned to me last time
dont you mean disappointment is dropping in 3 minutes 😉
here we go guys! good luck
Anyone see stock?
not yet
i bagged one let’s see if it goes through
2 gigabyte cards looks to have been it
Hmm I haven’t gotten anything to populate
Isn't it in an hour?
no
got the gigabyte gaming one for $777
Smh. No MSRP
honestly out of my budget but if it arrives i’ll either keep it or sell it
For the 9070 XT
or return it
gigabyte + way over msrp rippers
Like Damn not even one MSRP 😭
Nope it is already sold out
Lmao
Yp
looks like only the gigabyte
making an announcement for only 2 cards that lasted 2 minutes lol
cancelled
Yp I put in my cart for newegg to tell me that I'm signed out
Wow don’t even see any pop up
It was the OC gigabyte
i checked out and it got cancelled
Same to when I signed it
theyre showing in stock again for me
I got a funny message that 150+ people have this product in there cart
They do show in stock, but you can't checkout with them in your cart
lay cookie I was able to get one because of you
originally I had a list of only the swift power cooler and the sapphire in a list on newegg but
I added the gigabyte last second because you said that
Good for you honestly hope you will enjoy your card ❤️
Now lets also hope they would not canncel your order, make sure it goes trough
thank you so much, i’m not fully excited yet because as we’ve seen they can cancel last second but
hopefully it does
to be honest i don’t even like this gigabyte one too much i wanted one with RGB like the steel legend but
i cant fathom spending ~$700 and settling for something i dont like/didnt necessarily want
Gigabyte has a bit of RGB on the side
I guess finding one of these cards at actual msrp is basically a pipe dream now?
Yep
I just saw that actually
Me neither, this is an insanely expensive purchase for me but
I’m selling my 7800xt for $10 more than I bought it for so $515 so
Unless you have a microcenter yes, they will likely never be obtainable online for $599
It’s $260 out of pocket for me
Yp they haven't removed all of there listings so I was hoping they would also try restocking them but it looks like they are not even trying.
They will probably bring them back after a while, but by then AMD cards would again be considered NVIDIA -50$ cards with much worse software, so no one would care about them again.
basically paid $138 more than i should’ve, i pulled the trigger regardless because i can return or resell it if i want to
can't get anything through 😦
Maybe i should sell my 4090 for 4k like everybody else
even at microcenter it's kind of hard to get
