You have to learn what it handles well, but generally speaking only use native zoom no digital, wide shots are preferred as they do not handle depth well but if you do want depth you have to exaggerate the distance between objects

How is the modern WRX?

I'm seriously looking into Hawkeye WRXs (especially an STI that already got the forged internals rebuild treatment, and can get it for 32k USD)

So it's curious how you can compare the old to the new

That engine even after being rebuilt has probably been beat on so much its about to blow already

Like STIs are great cars but most used ones these days are completely neglected

The FA-24 in the newest WRX series can do up to about 450-500ish WHP reliably on stock internals and dont have to replace the transmission either if you go the manual option

Stock for stock, the VB definetly is the best handling/performing WRX out there and there is a very large aftermarket support for it too

I got mine for 30k brand new and zero regrets whatsoever

Are these quite literally just like plug and play or do you still have to fool around with it to get the tune perfect

Plug and play but usually OTS tunes are pretty shit and not great for the car in the long run

Ideally you want to get an actual dyno tune but thats not realistic for most people so a professional E tune is best

Basically you get a base map, tuner will tell you specifically what to do to data log, send the logs back to the tuner and he'll make adjustments fkr your car in specific

Rinse and repeat until the tuner is happy with it

OTS tunes are basically a one size fits all which aint great since every car is slightly different, different climates, different driving habits, etc

They're also useless if you have any mods on your engine that arent specified by the tune

Plug it in, the OBD2 connector itself might need a firmware update. For the PowrLink that I got, you just connect your phone to it, make sure you have credits to tune the car, then hit flash and it'll start flashing

More like "slapping a tune on the car" rather than actually tuning it

So basically, at least for specifically Integrated Engineering, you can tune the ECU from your phone, but they have some issues with TCU tune flashing from your phone. When I get to that point, imma use a laptop for TCU tuning. Works a lot smoother for most people

Don't know why and it's a known issue that they still haven't fixed yet

the time spent apart from making the models is in making sure the car works properly in the games rules

and of course there would probably be multiple car developments at once so there isn't just 66 cars since 1992 :)

man I’m torn, driving a ‘24 Corolla right now, which was my first car I’ve ever bought brand new. I think that for quite a few people (especially outside of the bigger cities) they do actually need/use those bigger cars.

My parents got a big SUV because they frequently needed to transport 6-8 people + luggage (also tons of grocieries for events and stuff)

• Harder to stop in the case of an accident
• Harder to maneuver in the case of an accident

Smaller cars:

• Lighter, easier to stop before the accident
• Lighter and much lower center of gravity, much easier to maneuver before the accident

Conclusion: driver skill avoids accidents

Buying a car to protect yourself in the case of an accident is a lazy argument that tells me you don't take the time to avoid an accident 💀

Any 90s or early 00s WRX or STI owners in the chat? Need some measurements.

Specifically, the length and width of the base of the hood scoop (the flared part) , as well as the height of the scoop at the highest point. Preferable in mm.

I need one for my PC as an exhaust duct. Heh.

However, to save you some time, if the scoop is over 2.5" from the base where it flares out then it won't clear my setup and I won't need the other measurements at all.

Mazdaspeed 3 is another option , but I dunno if those have a flat mounting surface or are curved to match the hood. I need a flat surface. : o
