Find a WELL TREATED VW
It'll be nice back
No end to the problems on my E36 until I sold it
I neglected that thing and it came back to bite me hard
Nope it’s basically the same maintenance as BMW but a bit cheaper
That's fine tbh
I guess I'd be learning about my car more at that point
Just change your oil more often than the manual tells you to and then the regular service intervals
And if something breaks take it to a German car mechanic
Your normal mechanic will destroy it like they did my X5
Yikes okay
The new Corvette ZR1 is here. And it’s absurd. Join us for a walk around of GM’s latest chance to throw everything they have at the C8 platform.

I am actually astounded at the horsepower
Like what
Take a guess before opening the video
three bajillion
Close
Isn't it like ~1000 hp?
Somebody made GM angry fs

No intro or outro, just driving. They nailed Eiger Nordwand and the sounds, but let's be honest, we knew they would.
Check out my Master License video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdQNap7WEuI&t=5s
@trim nacelle If you were to tell somebody to get a Mk7 GTI, what's the highest mileage you'd tell them to get?
The lowest they can find with a good inspection report
Gotcha. Makes sense
I mean, what else would you expect

Lower mileage = less operational cycles = longer mechanical life
Yeah but I was wondering if it was something like "the car takes a dump at X amount of miles" (like my Focus)
Oh
@balmy egret sorry back
Well typical things I said to look for are electrics
I haven't done a huge amount of study on these cars but for a gti I'd look at several things in particular
The quality of the dsg
Does it feel normal?
The tires
Brakes
At 80-100K belts
Nothing else really comes to mind atm
If the car was abused though then any number of things
If I'm not mistaken, inside the compression chamber you can get a lot of build up around the edges due to mistreatment of the engine
Would this be in kilometers or miles?
The solution is to lift the engine and mill out the gunk and metallic parts
It's fixable but NOT cheap
They have to take the top off the compression chamber
yikes okay
So yeah, the better and gentler it looks like it's been treated, it gets exponentially better
That doesn't mean you can't thrash it, but you gotta treat it well for the treatment you give
Kilometers sorry
So somewhere about like, 60-70K miles
I mean yeah. These are German cars. They're gonna want to be driven hard
But this applies to belt not chain driven
As I said, don't know a whole lot about the 4 cylinder, I just don't treat mine like trash
My alternative is a Volvo S60 lol. Just hoping I don't have to result to that
Thinking about facelifted second gen at the oldest
The seats fold down, so that would be great for when I go mountain biking (at least until I get a tow hitch setup for it lol)
A Mk3 would be nice though. They look good if you asked me
If I'm not mistaken those are extremely nice inside
I know barely anything about them tbh. I just saw that they're a thing and I'm like "yo I feel like I'd look good stepping out of that"
Wait wtf I just noticed (in that photo at least) that the gas cap is on the front driver side
European car so yeah
That's weird imo lol
Oh wait
But whatever it still looks good imo
lmaoooo fr
just why is it on the front at all? 💀
Front is whatever
Volvo is weird
But the swedish aren't so weird to do it on the left side

rear passenger side here, as it should be
Euro spec moment
Wth my car appreciated in value again
bro this is what I'm ultimately wanting
but of course America says that we don't need wagons and instead need SUVs
I like wagons but ima be honest, the way that back end converges makes me feel like it's a fold from a paper airplane
@balmy egret
B I C C
I see wym
I like wagons but hatches are good enough for me
I’m watching my stepfather fill his tank. I’m in his truck rn and I just see his "mi to E" go up all the way to 453 miles (729 km). It's a diesel 6.7L V8 and it's currently doing 14.5 mpg lol
Nuts that diesels can do that
Lots of low range torque
Before dieselgate was a thing and diesel was cheap, the whole premise made a ton of ethical and environmental sense
Dieselgate killed a whole future for a technology
Man and I would've gotten a diesel Golf too tbh. It would make sense for my situation
NFS Most Wanted 2 (2012) Beta Build: 60 FPS Gameplay Test
Hello and welcome to another video of the Beta NFS Most Wanted 2012.
So as we all know the game is locked to 30 FPS ingame, however what if there was a way to play the game at 60 FPS?
For a while now i've been trying to figure out a way to play the game at 60 FPS without any success.
At ...
that sound...
Its good for 2012 ig
Better than what polyphony at that time could do thats for sure
Didn’t know they added the Mk7 GTI to GT7 so I bought it immediately after seeing it was available in Brand Central lol
Whatever happened with your Focus??
I'll DM you the long version in a second. But basically, still not diagnosed but it's at least back in my home town (with me as well)
Car is in the shop at a mechanic we trust
Good mechanics are hard to find, sadly.
I'm pretty lucky to have an honest one just a block away
They're the ones that replaced most of my cooling system on my Impala for under 2k
Dashcam recommendations?
TBF diesels were never actually environment friendly
Dieselgate just revealed how shockingly bad they were at the time
No they are
And all the gizmos needed to make them pass regs make them break down all the time (oft catastrophically)
Dieselgate revealed that VW was lying
I hope you're chill with having your diesel constantly sit at the mechanic because it broke again
Diesel is in fact quite economical for fuel thus can be better due to low rev range torque
Cheap
Reliable
Economically friendly
You have have 2 with a diesel
There's a whole industry that relies on diesel
It's called logistics
It's the most efficient for the type of work it is needed for
But dieselgate ruined the notion of diesel as a whole
Cos VW were falsifying their numbers with manipulative engineering
Even before dieselgate
Diesel cars only really took off in Europe because of heavy subsidies
It's all 3
Except they aren't?
It is
Like you can have all the fancy stuff that make a diesel pass emissions
A diesel engine has far more torque at low bands than a petrol one
But you WILL have a maintenance nightmare
I mean my Diesel truck gets 32+ MPG, very econimical half ton full size truck
It's an older one I assume?
And very reliably built in good examples
Yeah you'll need a very friendly mechanic
There's a whole reason Australia refuses to let toyota stop selling the Land cruiser
Nah
There's a lot of smack talk about modern emissions systems but most are pretty reliable now
Again
They will pay 200K+ for a v8 LC
Older ones, not so much
More for a diesel
Economical =/= environment friendly
That's not correct at all
The exhaust coming out of a modern diesel with proper emissions systems is extremely clean
I don't argue they're not economical
Less fuel used = more environmentally friendly in a relative sense
Like, the trucks come to us with 3000 miles on them and the exhaust stack is still shiny metal
Better than cars :/
They were beating petrol cars back in their peak
For mileage
VW had a whole diesel.program with audi at the time in Le Mans about it
Then if they are so perfect
Why are they falling off even to this day
They were going far longer on the same tank of fuel cos it was diesel
Like dieselgate has been so long ago nobody cares anymore
These were audi r10's
Because diesel is smelly and more expensive in the US
Your hands smell after refilling with a pump
Most of Europe (as far as I can tell) have had lower diesel costs than gas
And gas smells here too
Because dieselgate ruined the prospect, and people became objectively adverse to it despite the benefits, suddenly in comes, hello, tesla?
Everyone moved on
Tesla is overrated NGL
I don't hate it, it's pretty cool
But it's not the car, perfected
Diesel is really messy to deal with
Tesla is over rated but at the same time also the largest due to subsidies
It's smelly, it sticks all over the pumps
BEVs in general kinda feel like a scam to me
I don't mind diesel but I also kinda live with it every day lol
It gets on your hands
PHEVs are really amazing tho
BEV's are a stepping stone to hydrogen IMO, which is the way we should go
Diesel is really grotty compared to petrol
But scarce resource with no infrastructure
I also sell electric equipment
It's impressive but also a bit impractical currently
I really, really wish Nissan didn't go full cringe and make the GT-R name dead on arrival by making it a BEV
But they did so
Godzilla is gone
A facility that needs light power like a small office
Ford did the same with the Mustang
Maybe for something like a pool
BEV SUV
Power grid cannot sustain full electric
You'd have truck drivers pulling over every 4 hours for half a day recharging
Cars filling ev queues and paying more per refill than fuel
The grid having to be several magnitudes more dense
Kenworth Toyota Hydrogen semi is impressive
I love the idea, I hate the lipstick on it
Hydrogen cells are a fantastic idea imo
The power requirements to charge the packs on semi's are ridiculous
You need industrial power, 480VAC 3 phase 100 amps or more for a decent charge time
Even our sweeper at that rate takes 2 hours to charge
Absolutely insane
They are but hydrogen is the problem. It's expensive to make currently, best way now is to crack water
Yes
carbon fiber tanks
Hydrogen ice's could've been great
what do you mean could've
They're coming on strong right now
at least in the heavy vehicle segment
Cummins is making one, others are following
Hydrogen storage was the issue along with efficiency
Modern DI tech is making it possible
The interesting thing about this is it may add a lot of benefit to other industries too
Hydrogen powered rather than electric
Less strain on the grid for heavy industry
Ye
Water is also becoming a precious resource with all the droughts etc. Lots of pushback for cracking it for fuel
Well as long as governments don't turn this into fanfare it's fine
Can use seawater but then you get contaminants in it
Absurd to me as we had so many desalination plants shut down and the planet is 70% water surface
Now we recycle our waste for water in most cities.
Osmosis desalination with nuclear for electricity for cracking. Unpopular tho
Fusion is coming along quite quickly as well
We could go on and on honestly
People just don't have the capacity to understand you will never have a perfect choice
No, you wil not
Water however is probably going to be the closest we'll ever get
We need water to survive, so it's perfectly symbiotic to our needs
REcently a tokamak reactor created more power than it took to start the reaction. Big progress there
60 second run time I think?
That's fascinating
Genuinely wonder what the long term effects could be out of that though
Is fusion always safe 💀
Pretty much. Reaction creates plasma and dueterium
Good for making warp drive material 😂
Converts tritium to deuterium
Why is my vision all fuzzy
All we need for that is a superconductor that works at reasonable temperatures, instead of needing to be near absolute zero.
Ya, that's another limitation for reactor time
Ai is working on room temp superconductors tho, shouldn't be long now
i want a gen 2 ford fusion sport and want to mod it like this ngl
yeah it was in korea iirc, they broke their own record of 18 seconds
looks nice af
ngl
ik i thought so too, ive seen tons of mods where they slam and stance them to crap but i just want something clean thats also practical
^^^^
Inneed someone's help
My partner and I are on a road trip, and randomly when we would stop breaking, the car would stall and roll backwards (it's not a manual)
It would only stall for a second and then we'd get control back and gas would work
I think it was because we were in very slow moving traffic and basically idling for too long
Volvo xc70 2012
@timid moth
Not too knowledgeable on cars so imma hand it to these four to help you out @trim nacelle @balmy egret @south yew @silent meteor
Ty
Np
I just pinged the first person I saw lmao
That's a weird one
My first thought was fuses
But maybe something else like transmission
Maybe check for corrosion on the battery terminals. More corrosion = less contact with the battery
Yeah that's a good one
The engine is reliant on the battery in cars, so I'd kind of imagine that
It kinda sounds power related
It only happens when I stop breaking though, which makes me think it's something else
Does the whole car switch off or just the engine
It just won't gas, the car stays on
Won't be battery then, maybe a short
I'll take my foot off the break and hit the gas, it rolls back for a sec then jolts forwards
It's not done this before right
And its not every time, now that we're not in bumper to bumper traffic it's stopped
Nope
And were driving from jersey to CT, which is a 5 hr drive with 2hrs left
Anyways ty, I'll ping you if it happens again
Did you have the AC on a lot
I’m reading the fuel delivery is a common issue on that year/model
Yes
Would it be worse if the tank was over full?
Doubt it
I'm still wondering if it's maybe the clutch or in a rare case the flywheel is slipping
Doubt it because I would've had that issue with my car by now lolll
I'm not really a mechanic per se so I'm probably not the best to ask for this lol
I know a lot about how a car works, worked on one? No
The clutch (on the transmission) engages into the engine's flywheel to make the car move. The clutch disengages to shift gears or when you come to a stop
I can change my oil if I have to and my spark plugs
The flywheel would make sense timing wise
But would it be a consistent issue?
It would probably be the clutch more than it would be the flywheel (at least I'd imagine)
A lot of google is saying similar things but neither I or google are mechanics
Yeah I'd take it to someone you trust soon, when/if you can
Maybe drop it into a mechanic for a quick stopover
Yeah
I would tell them what it sounds like
mention this
Yeah we're going to when we get home I wanted to make sure it was OK to keep going
My dads friend runs a shop so we'll bring it to him
Idk how bad it seems
It hasn't stalled in a hot minute
But if it's fuel it could break down on the road
Been at least an hour without issue, and it was consistently happening while we were in slow moving traffic and idling a lot
Only slow moving traffic huh
Ye aside from that it hasn't happened
It's engaging and disengaging constantly
That makes a lot of sense
(Idk for sure though. My car would be prone to this but it hasn't happened yet)
No lights are on on the dashboard btw
Does it have any difficulty turning on
Have you tried turning all the interior stuff off in traffic
I turned the ac off for a few minutes but it didn't make a difference, I was sweating too much to wait longer lol
Side note, new York and jersey drivers to not give a single F about cars with their hazards on
Oooo ok
Air flow maybe
This seems a bit more plausible given it
it's specifically traffic
When you're on the highway, the car will intake a lot more
@amber rock does it feel rough when it's happening
Or just slipping and stalling
like the engine making a weird noise
Uhh
No noise
When the gas would kick in there mightve been a noise?
Like a sudden jolt
Gas consumption seems low honestly
Also
Not high
You're using the correct fuel right
Yeah
Not mixing low grade or anything
Only regular unleaded, I was worried they put the wrong gas in when we stopped in jersey (they pump for you) but they didn't
We checked the receipt to be sure, that was my first thought tho
You're sure of this or it might be a coincidence?
It seems really low but it could be. The car isn't mine, I've only driven it a handful of times
Sadly no
MMmmm hard to say then
Cos if it was REALLY low compared to the known average, and since you said it's quite warm
Would be sus of fuel pump
Esp. since motor says it's a common issue
We gassed up like at least two and a half hours ago and were just now getting to 3/4 a tank
And it can't do better than 18mpg or so
That does sound low
Lol
Take it to a mechanic and have them check the fuel pump lol
Alr
Ty
So fuel pump, oxygen sensors, clutch, and maybe fuel delivery?
Ofc pump goes with fuel delivery but you get it
Fuel pump, oxygen sensors, EGR, clutch/transmission, spark plugs
Ty
I can most likely rule the last one out
It went for an oil change a few weeks ago and they check the spark plugs at the same time
Yeah I put the sparks at the end cos you never know
I'm not really thinking it is them
thats an interesting issue. I agree that it is likely a fuel pump issue. couldnt be flywheel because automatic cars dont have flywheels. but yeah id check all those things that Felix said to check.
Loose battery terminal is most likely the issue here
@amber rock
It could also be the fuel pumps
That Volvo has two fuel tanks
One transfer pump that moves fuel from one side to the other, and a secondary pump that gives it to the engine
What happens is that the transfer pump weakens or stops and the secondary pump starves for fuel. If no check engine light, could be either one
Or not, that's a different model
I was thinking of the XC90. That's the one with twin tanks. I'll stick with loose battery terminals.
Battery is in the rear under the floor cover. Common issue with these is a leaky rear door seal and the compartment getting water inside with corrossion.....definitely worth a look.
We sat at a rest stop for 30min and left the car off. Afterwards the issue didn't arise again
I think Felix was right abt the clutch overheating but we're going to bring it in to the mechanic tmrw
It's a manual?
Auto's don't have clutches, well they do, but your symptoms don't really describe a clutch issue
Hm alright, I don't think it was battery related however
The only thing that would fail was the gas/engine, nothing else was turning off
You'd let off the brake and it would stall?
Yeah, for about half a second to a second
I'd have my foot on the gas and we'd start rolling back and then jolt forwards
If it doesn't do it again I wouldn't worry too much. Having the fuel pressure checked isn't a bad idea and shouldn't be too expensive. That will reveal a fuel pump or delivery issue
Could also possibly be a small leak in the brake vacuum booster since it only happens when you let off the brake. Might be worth checking that also to make sure it holds vacuum.
Learnt something new lol
I thought all cars had one
Well, ICE's
yeah, automatic cars have flexplates, kinda similar to a flywheel but different
Car go vroom
I've always just assumed they all* had one and it had a direct impact on throttle response
I don't even know what's happening
engines have tiny explosions in them
I mean, it is a fly wheel just with a different name
Technically the auto's have more effect on throttle response because of the torque converter bolted to it full of fluid
So it's still a fly wheel
It serves the same purpose

Connect engine power to transmission
Flywheels do it with a clutch, flexplate does it with the torque converter
Depends on how it's shifted
F1 sequential is air shifted, clutch is just to get you moving
MOST of the sequential gearboxes on the market are auto clutch
IE, solenoid moves clutch when TCM says to
like DCTs
Yes and no
:0
Ford's DCT is just an auto shifting manual
Ooo ok interesting
MOtors to shift gears and actuate clutch
So it's case specific
It's a pile of dookie stay FAR FAR AWAY
There are good and bad of everything
Good trucks and SUVs. Bad hatchbacks and sedans. trucks and SUVs don't interest me so the only Ford I'd buy at this point is a Mustang lol
Still don't get how Ford can't make a working transmission
Sure, if you don't mind a transmission with "lifetime fluid" you can't even check that grenades itself every 100K or so
Mustang trans is French
Nevermind. No Mustang for me. Just learned that it's French
Dad had one, if he had been able to service it, it would have lasted
Stay away from VW/Audi 1.4 turbos or 2.0 turbos
they blow head gaskets like Subaru's
MK7?
Yes
Mmmmmmm
I've heard that they're much better than the Mk6 Golfs
I mean, kinda
same engine as the Audi A4
Watch this video on the 2017 Audi A4 2.0 and let me know if you want to work on it or pay someone else to work on it. Water pump is driven off a shaft on the back of the engine with a tiny belt, turbos prone to go bad, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m67F6CqfbfM
There are times when a car is brought into the shop for one repair, and the mechanic finds another more serious problem that had not made itself known to the owner. That's the case with this 2017 Audi A4 S-Line. ➡️ Don't forget to check out @MrsWizardsWays and her eBay auctions https://www.ebay.com/usr/davidthecarwizard (auctions end 2/14/2024)....
I mean it can't be THAT bad, right?
I mean I knew about the water pump issues. I haven't heard much about the turbo issues
If you get one, don't get one that's been tuned. Be prepared for the "Euro Tax" for repairs. They're neat little cars tho
handle well and good power
If you bring it to neutral right as it starts to die does it come back to life?
Oh nvm I thought it was a manual
Oh I’ve had some fun with those 2L turbos lmaooo
Friend bought a golf with 200k on the engine to immediately swap in a VR6 he had lying around, decided to blow the head gasket for fun
500shot of NOS is beautiful for a second
Oh yeah I’m well aware of the Euro Tax
I watch multiple repair channels on the tubes. One of them is an Audi dealer tech. The issues there are........not great.
Yeahh VW engines in general aren’t fun to repair
Maybe except the 1.9 TDI
I may be biased tho since I’ve stripped that engine down so many times
Only German I find so easy to fix is MB’s OM616 just because it never breaks
That engine is a legend
I thought the 10 speed was pretty good
Unless you are talking about something else
I was referring to an older transmission. Early 10 speeds weren't great, later ones are better
Seems like the 22+ have a trans dipstick but you have to unscrew this stud and it's right next to the exhaust

Dad's was a 2007? 2008?
Not serviceable, crapped out at 105K miles
He fixed it and sold it
I’ve yet to figure out why manufacturers don’t have a drain plug on all transmissions
Like first one that comes to mind is the newest Subaru Impreza with the 5 speed manual, obviously has a drain in it but it’s just been plugged up
Is that a short wheelbase moment
LOL it's hilarious when they go out of their way to plug something that was designed into the hardware
Darn no Grand Prix this weekend :(

Here’s a match-up you didn’t know you needed… Until today!
We’ve got Yianni lining up in a Lamborghini Aventador SV, and he’s about to go head-to-head against Mat in a ridiculous 600hp Toyota GR Yaris!
So let’s take a closer look at this ludicrous Yaris. It rolls...
Isherightyouknow
Well he did beat him towards the end
That is a sick yaris
A distributor cap in this condition is not conducive to making sparky spark. How this thing was even running is beyond me!!
Physics finds a way
Blows my mind
Just a very slight miss at idle sometimes. 50 MPH on the water? No problem, sings like a bird
You’re a smart pc person and a car person? I’m cooked
I need to find one thing to become super smart at
I'd say "google is your friend" but they've been getting much worse lately. Before all this "AI generated" BS you could pretty easily find enough info on just about any niche subject to carry a conversation.
Are we talking about boats now
When I work on it, yes.
My gf sent me a photo of a pink Silvia S14. Idk whether I've won or if I should educate her a little more and say "these aren't dailyable"
don't know if she means she wants it as a project car lol
tbh it's rare that I watch a video that includes a Lamborghini and any other car and the Lambo wins
but that lambo sounds sooooooo goood
it does fr
v12
this one looks sick
Bruh I just wish we had more wagon and hatchback options in the US
it's annoying. it's just all SUVs here
rip
"wagons don't sell good in the US" because we're all idiots here 💀
"Bigger makes me better" bro
never heard of a car called that lol
lol
is that basically just a coupe shaped as a wagon?
want it
cool car under 30k
I don't have that kind of money. I have Golf GTI money
20k ?
here gti cost 20-30k
They're like 15K at the low end here
Trying to see if I can get lucky with a decent one at a low price. If not, I'm probably just gonna get a Volvo S60. A Mk3 would be nice but Mk2 S60s don't seem so bad
They mostly come with multiple owners but they're all at a decent mileage. I haven't heard many bad things about the Mk2s and (maybe) the Mk3s
It’ll break on you so quickly, N54s are horrible engines for reliability and because it’s used previous owner probably already beat tf out of it
yeah rip
how much cost a new engine ?
No clue but off the top of my head I’m guessing about 8-10k for a low mileage one based off when I was looking for a new N55 for my X5
It’s a fine engine and easily makes power if you got the money for repairs
Oh and to fix a lot of the main things that go wrong like your turbos dying or gaskets going bad, you gotta drop the subframe to have access to them to replace them
True but I don't want another Ford tbh
1m are cool
but expensive
Bro is trying to sell me on BMWs lmao
Nah I want a BMW but I can't afford something like that yet
Both to buy and to maintain
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
get a cheap v12 mercedes
You ain’t getting a SEAT in the US lmao
yeap
Spanish Golf
Spolf
I fw the cupra no kizzy
Any civic coupe owners about
@south yew I called the guy at the shop about my car. He said it's possibly the brake pressure sensor
I'm hoping that's what it is because I'd imagine that would be much cheaper than an ABS replacement
"License fee" implies that you have to pay to know how to drive, which also implies that if you don't know how to drive, you don't have to pay
It's more like you're renting your license plates
Practically, yes
What is this
Probably some California stuff
Annual car registration
💀
No, Cali hates GAS cars
You get all kinds of credits, rebates, discounts, etc if you have an electric.
You also need to get smog checks every few years (depending on how old the car is) which you don't need to do on electric
"well electric has no emissions"
and how is the energy being made?
Best make sure it's buried properly
are you sure it's from a nuclear power plant?
Man, electric could've been good
how many cars can a plant power lmao
Why'd they have to ruin it with this green dialogue
Yeah but what about the houses they're attached to
i was assuming it'd just be directly from the plant to the charging stations LOL
imagine that
an entire power plant doing nothing but charge electric cars
So 6.7K cars
yep
I think whereever you got that number from seems a bit off *(Wasn't)
💀
Wait no I'm stupid
No it's not
Wow I'm all mixed up
LOL
Each car is half a house
10 vs 21
So it's 13000 homes roughly
Ok so we assume the grid in either of our countries are maxed out
You'd need half as much power generation again for every household *having an EV to comfortably handle the load on the grid
And that's ignoring all the lithium overhead, entry prices and allat
turns out electric cars suck back a lot of battery
In all fairness it is more efficient for a power plant to make the power than it is for your engine to make it on demand, assuming your utility company uses renewables in at least some of their power production
this is fair
Still find it insane that a cybertruck costs $75 to charge for 1.5 hours at a supercharger and only gets 275 miles range
Yeah it’s only teslas that are like that
I actually enjoyed my KIA EV6 rental
Charge took 20 minutes, cost maybe $25ish at the DC fast chargers and could get 400 miles out of it
And it handled really well for an EV
Only thing is it looked ugly af
nah bro you can add an extra battery on top of your enormous battery to double the range
(i really doubt it's going to give a substantial boost)
it fits in the stupid tunnel bed
Technically yes but then there's additional weight to push so it's less efficient. EVs are a balancing act.
i mean, when the cybertruck is a 3000kg piece of metal
for the base model
what's like 10 more kilos
people aren't gonna be using the cybertruck to do truck things anyway
Only 10 kilos? That wouldn't be enough battery to make any difference at all
well idk how much the battery boost thing is
it's not even out yet lol
well last i looked
it's not real yet
I assume it must be under 100kg if it's supposed to be attached by the consumer
The original cybertruck battery is 721kg
oh holy god
the battery pack is real in fact
and it weighs like 273kg
because it's not supposed to be user replaceable or removeable
Oh cool so it probably extends range like 25%
I musta forgot we were talking about tesla lol
120 miles extra range from advertisements
Let's not forget if you ever go through a car wash or heavy rain your warranty is void
More battery is also more charge time too tho even tho you get like an extra 75 miles
Wasn't the original marketing for the truck also claiming 400 miles of range when it's actually more like 250
So lets assume the same for the accessories and say their claimed 120 miles is more like 70.
Wake me up when we have NDB in cars, I'll trade in then

They discovered some time ago that if you impregnate artifical diamond with nuclear waste, it generates an electric field that can be harnessed in the form of a battery
It's super cheap to make and a lot more environmentally friendly than lithium mining
In short, Fallout cars
(but the ambient radiation they give off is less than your cell phone)
well, nuclear waste is just radioactive material that can't be used for nuclear energy
like way past it's half life
This has a half life of 28,000 years so it's not that lol

what the hell bruh
28000 years
when are we getting pulse engines powered by multiple nuclear explosions
I'd say an antimatter reactor would be more likely than that
Or a fusion reactor instead of fission, once we solve "room temperature" superconductors
AI is working on models for the superconductor so that'll accelerate things a bit
That's the last huge hurdle we can foresee
just fluctuations in the magnetic fields and stuff as well
We already have fusion reactors that can create more energy than it takes to run the reaction but they're not efficient enough for wide use
we sure did get there
but positive power output was a huge step
soon we'll be well on our way to Mjolnir armor
just have to scale it down, and make them have a self destruct feature...
Self destruct is easy, you just shut off magnetic containment
After cutting the flow of coolant
must also vaporize everything in a set radius
render the armor unrecoverable by the covenant
Cut coolant, temp increases to critical (10,000C should do it) and then cut the containment, and it'll melt itself into slag
Along with anything else in the vicinity
yeess, yeeeesss
I'm just going to let the pictures talk.
When your resume includes design work on the Lamborghini Huracán, Bugatti Chiron and a couple of Koenigseggs, what next?
For Sasha Selipanov, it’s creating his own hypercar: the NILU.
This otherworldly wonder is a carbon-tubbed, V12-powered monster, with little to get in the way of the raw driving experience.
Which could be quite something, g...
My first impression is from the front it looks like it has really big nostrils
Absolutely has me wrapped tho
Gorgeous design car
Cannot deny the nostrils part

It's been a while since we've seen something this seriously unique I feel
Not since like, the P1, or Huayra
It's just, so raw
I really can’t tell if I like it or not
Hey, it's unique though isn't it
Oh it is
Next closest in my mind would be the gordan murray t50
Peel P50 is hotter tho
Lmaooo
💀
You see I’d buy that new Bugatti but I just don’t like the big nostrils, that’s why I settled on my WRX

Hey my rent here is actually pretty cheap for what I’m getting
1 kitchen 0 bedroom
$775/month is pretty solid for an almost 1000 sqft apartment
Kitchen, living room, bathroom and a master bedroom is pretty good and utilities included
You’re a serious meme
I'll serious meme u in a minute
Just the way I like it
Laughs in cracked wrx cylinder
Hey now, I don’t got cracked cylinder issues
I got head gasket issues
This keychain even reminds me of it
I mean it is a base model
Hey it's valid
I prefer it over the button start
Priming for oil changes is so much nicer than having to pull fuses with push starts
Oh 100%
The huayra keyfob is something like a volkswagen keyfob with a $0.15 plastic shroud
You wanna feel cheap
Get a huayra
At the same time tho, I wasn’t buying this car with comfort as my #1 priority, so I’m happy with some of the costs being cut on quakity
Sorry it is in fact a merc key underneath
Merc engine, merc key
$0.15 plastic cover
You see? My E450 is just a pagani
They charge $5000 for it
Didn’t feel like spending so much more money for just a name
Did you know the bugattis side mirror knobs are charged 30 grand for on a veyron
Yeah I saw that
They're the exact same parts from a vw transporter
Lol
Ah damn you watched the vid
It’s crazy how much mark up there is
What about how the Lamborghini diablo taillights come from bus parts
And the headlights from a nissan 300zx
☠️
I forgot what it was but there’s some lambo headlights that came from a Nissan
YEAH
Lmfao
Gen 2 mr2
Or a very early gen WRX would be nice
Crazy ass car
Its like a vgt but real life

By popular demand, we decided to publish some bonus onboard footage of the McLaren F1's BMW S70/2 doing what it does best, making pure, awesome V12 noises.
Here's the main F1 video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FytOGr8KuI
In its day, the McLaren F1 seized headlines for its record-breaking top speed, but in reality, that was never one of t...
To date, one of our most highly-regarded films has been “The Ferrari 250 GTO Speaks for Itself”, focused around Derek Hill and—without a doubt—a V12-powered legend. It wasn’t the whole story, however.
See, we capture a lot of footage, and there’s been a clip we’ve wanted to air separately since the moment it was committed to memory: an in-car v...

as to what i will actually be able to maybe afford in this economy
a corvette or mustang would be cool
Corvette is going to branch off as its own brand next year. What would you think about a Corvette minivan?
NGL Corvette truck would probably sell like crazy
Bro don't give them ideas
There's already an SUV concept floating around out there
I hate this
I know a guy that works on the Corvette team, an SUV concept isnt even the database
Just drove the mustang Mach e4 X. Electric cars have such amazing acceleration
I don't want these combustion engines anymore.
Corvette truck would be fire
Nah the new ZR1 would be insane to own
Mustang GTD is fire too but they making you apply for that and only making like 300
Wait when unnecessarily digitized things stop working because thats how they were designed
Its weird how the design of literally everything is different with evs
They should make it like a normal ice car, with buttons for things and a normal design, but instead of having an engine it is an ev. You get what im tryna say?
Rumored then. Thank the lord
That's just a urus
Pretty much 💀
Yes..as things get more electrical, it feels cheap
i like the new lambo but its just kinda the same thing again i feel like
The Toyota GR Forklift (A92) is a forklift that was developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing in response to the problem of slow, unmaneuverable, and underpowered forklifts in grand tourer racing. With a 2UR-GSE naturally aspirated 5.4 L V8 petrol engine producing over 524 brake horsepower, the GR Forklift can accelerate from naught to sixty in 2.8 secon...
It'll probably overheat
Gaht damn
A marvel of engineering
Truly strikes a balance between utility and street performance
TOYOTA, 200k plus miles before the engine starts to lose mpg
I was thinking of the GR Corolla engine. They've been catching on fire lately and Toyota has been trying to keep hush-hush about it
But yeah anything from Toyota that’s not sporty is amazing
They’re naturally aspirated right?
I think? Forgot lol
It’s turbo charged
Kinda makes sense they caught on fire
Maybe it was modded/tuned on the ones that got fire but idk
That’s kinda what I’m thinking
I think some people (rarely) can get like 600hp out of it (I could be wrong)
Yeah some guys are able to get crazy power out of that thing
300hp is already crazy for a 1.6L 💀
Honestly tho
Isn't the base model Taycan only 402hp
Well, in comparison to the 1.6L engine of the GR Corolla
Like a 102hp difference is kinda crazy
Well it’s only the GR Corolla and 86 have issues, the MK5 Supras are really solid
That’s true
86 has issues coming from too much RTV being added to the oil pan on earlier batches of the FA-24 and oil starvation issues in high G applications when making a right turns
Oil starvation is only an issue on the track though and it’s fixed by installing a baffle kit
Who knows what’s going on with the GR Corolla tho, seems like there’s always a new issue with it
i cannot find any ford fusion sports near me 💀
a taraus sho would be really cool too but those like dont exist anywhere
SHO's are arare because police bought them all
you know that would make sense lol
I'm having the masculine urge to get a Fujifilm X100V to get photos at a local cars and coffee event that happens about every two to three weeks
Ya, same exact car, just had an Interceptor badge instead
man so if we wanted an SHO it has to be a used police Ford
As if the police Chargers weren't already bad enough
alll the ones i find are like 150k+ miles and like 50+ miles from me
ford needs to bring back the cheaper sedans and cars
SUV market sucks
i dont think all of them were police
i unironically saw one outside of my work last week i think, pretty sure it was undercover police, it was a dark grey and the plate looked like it had a badge on it
No, not all
But the police bought a TON of them
They were also detective/investigator cars
At least it's not gonna fold like paper
LMAO, forgot we had a car channel. Guess we should be talking here 😦
Real LOL
Been gone for 3 years, what you expect?
I forgot about that lmao
My god I didn’t realize this thing was over 4,000 lbs
That’s Challenger territory
Hellacious braking though. What a beast
Better be for the price point tho
Braking has more to do with the tires than the brakes themselves.
Better brakes mostly just handle heat better so they can handle longer and frequent braking.
Better tires will grip the road better. More contact, more friction, less sliding.
Y'aint gonna outbrake your tires with stock brakes unless it's raining or you really screwed up
Obviously still don't get cheap brakes
No, always go semi-metallic
You get what you pay for
Ceramic is silly on the street, they have to get hot before they work well
Sintered is the pad material you want
Stay away from "green" or organic pads too
Get them carbon ceramics cos you'll always be braking from 280km/h
And even then, your first stop from 280 km/h they won't work worth a darn lol
They do need to warm up yes
Current set of brakes on my work car is ~70K miles and don't need replaced yet
I'm always riding my brakes at 400C (in project cars)
y
or whatever the clamp kind is called
It'll lock up the wheel and you'll slide, or if you have ABS it'll do nothing of use
Then your wheels are like triple wide and have the turning circle of a tank
Instant wheel lock lmao
Plus like 4 master cylinders to pump enough fluid to stop
One by each tire plus a master controller for them
okay, what if instead of brakes you used a thruster
ineffective
car also probably flips on turns
The thrust to stop a multi thousand pound vehicle in the same time as brakes is nuts
time to pull out the kinematic equations again-
Like... An engine of some kind applying an opposing force from the direction of travel? The car would crumple lol
Just get a flying car, no brakes required just dodge
We have several working prototypes of those btw
Including folding wing designs
It's just the FAA in the way
the FAA nightmare
Them and their silly rules, like "you need a pilot's license to fly anything"
Although you gotta admit they run a tight ship that's effective.
Boeing
given a vehicle of 3000kg traveling at 80km/h
how much force must be applied to stop it within 5 seconds
Compared to cars and trucks, FAA has it on lock down lol
Boeing peed in their own cheerios
The FAA also believed Boeing when they said "trust me bro," twice. Still no fines.
Yeah, that's not so great
How will you disengage thrust
What if these are boeing engines
This sounds so unsafe
Boeing doesn't have engine problems. They have airframe problems
Do I get shot if I complain about them not stopping me while I'm using them
Good point, we might want to stop talking about them
Lmao
Obviously cutting the fuel source is enough-
Thank god my work trip is only 2 traffic lights
Each engine is stacked on top of each other
You'd need near instant response on that reverse thruster, good point
The BEST brakes I've ever used in my life was an electromagnetic brake on the driveline of a big truck
6 stages
Stage 6 put you through the windshield
I was genuinely confused
My ui is locking up
I mean, I've done that with a big truck on a sliperry road. Contrary to popular belief, it's NOT fun
I would imagine it's a terrifying experience even for experienced drivers
This reminds me i really gotta upgrade the brakes on my WRX, they’re fine but they’re so much worse than any other brakes I’ve had on other cars
Upgrade package
How old is the fluid?
Brand new basically, car has like 3.3k miles on it
AH
"Huh, put them on the side of the vehicle? Nonsense"
The stock brakes are just really underperforming imo
OEM brakes work they just tend to feel wooden
Oh yeah they definitely do work but i still ain’t 100% used to having to push the pedal so hard in compared to other cars I’ve driven
But OEM ones feel pretty linear
The stock brakes on my BMW X5 and MB C350 and E450 were so much more responsive
That is imo strange for a brand new car to not feel snappy
Probably not bedded properly
What kind of brakes are they
It’s apparently a common thing with the base trim
