Yo that's wild
The first one came out like 10 years ago, but they recently revamped it
Shop Kuru Toga here: https://to.jetpens.com/3KHmAdv The Uni Kuru Toga keeps your lead sharp and writing crisp. In this video we’ll explain what makes the Kuru Toga so special and show you all the different models the line has to offer.

Yea it’s pretty nice, I have an older model tho
I just ordered the advanced upgrade off ebay for $15, it's supposed to have the quicker rotation for english
Nice blue color
that rainbow is a bit intense lol but second
gotcha
Qwen-image is great
that took 4 mins
for two images at 1080p
this was the better option
A beest
Pretty nice but the lower half of image could use just a tiny bit of light
Kodak might be going out of business, so if you've been interested in film photography, do it now before film goes up even more
alr ill see if i can get it once im outta school
A slr + cost of film pretty much kills it for me
Although
F mount lenses would work with older slrs
So I could probably snag a body
OOOOOOOOO
Yoooo that's not too bad (I think?)
I wonder what DSLR prices are like, now that people are going for mirrorless cameras
Should I get a SLR and a roll of 35
D7000 is cheap
Then you have to figure out how to develop the film lol
Wow yeah those Nike D7000s are actually pretty cheap used
I already have a Canon EOS Rebel T3 (I think that's the model)
Something just to learn on
The good thing about nikon is the lens platform
There's a lotta Nikon F lenses out there
Hmm
Kinds tempted
lol try parting out the rest of the equipment needed to develop it
To get the camera and a roll of cheap film just to test it out
Cheaper to get it developed at a shop
Obviously Kodak, but they're going out of business. So who else could develop it? Local places
I'm not a camera guy (yet) so I wouldn't know lol
Yeah local shops
God damn
The cost of a slr + film + battery & charger is going to mount up to the cost of a dslr
Yeah no this is not cheap 💀
Lowkey I wanna do this

I wasn’t using my old Ender 3 3D printer anymore, so I hacked it into a fully motorized robotic camera rig. This DIY build can record smooth cinematic shots and even create 3D models using photogrammetry, letting me turn real-world objects into ...
I have a spare Ender 3 for this
Unironically a good idea
I could see an indie film maker using this
Wtf
Unironically cheaper to get this
Compared to a SLR
I wonder if the newer dslrs are going to get cheaper
Kinda want an upgrade to my d7000
I bet you they will. The hype for mirrorless cameras is gaining traction
It better
imo DSLRs aren't bad either. But I'm not a photographer, so I wouldn't have that perspective
I mean the d7000 is still a great camera but like
Really? The D7200 is a decade old why does it still cost this much used?
Camera market is funky
Doesn't even come with lenses smh
That being said
16MP on the D7000 still obliterates any smartphone
I was going to do this
it was a $1200 body when it released and dlsr tech hasn't improved drastically enough to make its specs (24MP, 25000iso, and 50 focus points) obsolete
*also $1200 2015 dollars
Yeahhhhhhhh
It's pretty pricey
For a decade old camera
Especially when you take into account the remaining shutter count
Supposedly it has a very high shutter life but I suppose if it was used by a professional that could still get eaten through
Most cameras on the market are probably professionals
On one hand they take very good care on their equipment
On the other hand
It's been extensively used
It'd be fine if the price could be a bit lower
usually you can get a pretty good idea by checking the shutter count. if it was used professionally an older camera can easily have over 200,000 images taken
Beautiful
Cool reflection caustic from my sunglasses onto my leg
How should I photograph this soap bottle?
lol that is interesting one. I would prob try with a flat color background that gives it some contrast. If using lights I'd get at least one strong light but watch for glare. have to shoot an area of the bottle that is very clear. you can also do closeup where some of those lines might make interesting shapes
Do not the bottle
…
the soap got used to the point where there are no more swirls before i remembered to take a picture
:(
Damn
It looks like either a snake or a fish
Loll
damn
they finally came out with a internal zoom version but I only just bought the original a couple months ago
Ye i don’t feel too bad about getting the old one cuz I think I paid like half of that for mine lol
How do I get cloud photos to look closer to real life? Whenever the cloud's like orange it always makes it yellow or white
I don't do these kinds of pics very often but I would say it probably has to do with clipping. Usually I would take an HDR image, with a camera that is in the form of exposure bracketing. taking multiple pictures purposefully under and over exposing some to get more color information in the very bright and very dark areas
shot in RAW, and edit it in lightroom on your phone
Alr
Or any raw editing software
You should be able to use various color tools to adjust colors how you like
yeah
all the good photos out there
they're almost never "as shot"
you have to do some color correction to get it to look good
Mhm
At work and spotted this vibrant beauty

Networking issue on mobile
Used over 300gb of data so it’s bugging out with discord
Dude what are you trying to upload💀
I love how the rainbow is going from one red car to the other red car in the lot
Lol
is this an anime reference to thrice upon a time
nah idk what ur talking abt
😔
I just have a rather eloquent form of speech, dost ye understand?
yea yea
I do a lot of stuff at work that requires data out the wazoo
oh
Lotta rentals and a lotta information
To be fair it's a pretty common issue on discord mobile
@green condor back in Brazil. Bought my camera this time
Go to Venezuela and see the repeating thunderstorms
@green condor or anyone else got any recommendations as to where i can learn to shoot or at least get examples of stills/shots for a desk or table? or just anything for inspiration like this image? I want to try and learn how to setup shots like these rather than just taking a picture of my mice and mousepads straight on
i guess adobe stock would be a place to look since its all over the picture
It’s a mixture of photography and styling, might be able to look around the commercial photography space. I’ve watched tim house studio but he usually hires a stylist for the placement of items and such he mostly does lighting
Also even pinterest is a decent place to get some inspiration
time to figure out the password for my old pintrest account 🗿

Will post images soon
our favorite critter
also after this past week doing several sports, portrait, and engagement shoots... I should really stop cheaping out and just get identical camera bodies. having 1 dslr and 1 mirrorless made me screw up the focus and exposure of so many images...
do I buy magnetic filter kit
If that guy has red under those wings, kill it
nikon just launched first cinema camera with red collab https://www.nikonusa.com/p/zr/2006/overview
I had a nice park picture with a nice louge area in Sao Paulo but after inspecting it, the metering mode I chose ruined it. so rip
Bruh my camera is falling apart, now the grips are falling off
Ahh, that’s why i always check the histograms on the previews to double check myself
whar camera and how old?
Nikon z6ii. Idk when it was originally purchased but ive been using it as my primary for maybe 2 years
I'll take it
lol
I've been debating selling all my cams and picking up a pair of z8's or z6iii's
How much is a used mirrorless these days
Higher end DSLR prices do not look encouraging
I wonder if it'd be a better investment to just get a mirrorless lol
Then again... Lenses
It's always the lenses 💀
Yes
Maybe like 1k for an older model
/r/photomarket is a pretty good resource
A bunch of camera bodies were on eBay from Japan, but I bet the tariffs make those not worth it
I should mention its around 1k for used mid tier bodies. Some entry level mirrorless can be had cheaper
The Canon r10 is great
I still don't understand camera pricing. Like is $1K overpriced? Cheap? Worth it?
Or is that like as scummy as 5080 and 5090 pricing?
1k is about normal
For a good one
But you're not paying a price that makes you say "I paid that much and this is all I get?" (Like buying a 5080 lol)
Hm....not really
GPUs are more disappointing
Seems like it lol
not really, cameras are very robust and you pretty much get what you pay for from the major brands. although some like leica or hasselblad might have you thinking that.. paying over 5k for a point and shoot
Mmhhmm
Idk about Nokia and Sony, but this is a really good mirrorless that you can grow into. This is a good deal imo.
Compared to an iPhone
Yes
My decade old Nikon D7000 still takes decent photos (absolutely destroys a phone)
Think it was like $350 total with lenses
Mirrorless are great because they take good video as well
If you just want to get into photography, an older DSLR would be a decent starting point
I wouldn't go too old tho
Not sure if I'd consider 16MP absolutely destroying a phone
depends on the body and lens. it's not too far off from standard 24MP
I mean it's 2/3 the pixels (yes resolution isn't everything but it plays a factor)
iirc the iPhone cameras these days are 48MP and then use pixel binning. I assume other brands are similar
yeah but im no scientist but tbh pretty much all phones I've seen at 48MP have significantly less detail than a professional 24MP camera. tbh the megapixels don't mean a whole lot.
Few months back I was shooting with a iPhone 16 Pro and a Nikon Z6ii on a trip and the difference was very apparent
Yeah I’m not saying MP is a direct comparison
But I doubt a 10 15 year old 12MP dslr is “destroying” a phone shooting 48mp and binning to 24mp or whatever
Does shooting in raw on a phone make no adequate difference
Mostly to the colors. Actually I found that the default raw modes on iphone often came out quite soft
How’s the new iPhone camera?
Nowhere as good a real modern camera
Still gonna use my 16 Pro Max camera for media creation for work lol
Probably not a good example because Fuji filters, but here's iPhone 13 pro max vs Fuji x-t4
Pretty sure it would tbh
Lowlight it likely will, cause sensor size matters a lot for that
Modern phone cameras are still constrained by sensor size
Videos, however
Absolutely not
Pretty sure even in a well lit environment it'd still be better on average
The problem isn't because phone cameras are bad or anything
They're just constrained
I'm sure it's comparable but I'm mostly being pedantic about the "destroys"
I'd argue it still stands
If you compare the details and colour accuracy
And the amount of control you get
Control is a big bonus yeah
A lot of problems I have when taking pictures on phones are the lack of control
That's what I mean when I say it would still destroy a smartphone
The larger sensor allows for finer details to be captured even despite the lower resolution
And you have greater control over how those details are captured
Now, if we're comparing a phone to a point and shoot then it wouldn't matter because... Just use a phone lol (The sensor size usually aren't that much bigger than a modern smartphone sensor, maybe you get some zoom but that's it)
Which is its intended market anyways and it's great at that
this isn't one to one but here was a side by side I had near edge of frame. slightly different angle but both are at 100% zoom, both are raw images one from a iPhone 16 Pro and one from a Nikon Z6ii
Are you on iOS 26? I feel like my pictures look blurrier on the new update.
No idea how reputable this is but
https://www.tenorshare.com/ios-26/ios-26-photos-app-issues.html
Aww it didn't work
Blurry 48MP Photos After Update
Several users with the iPhone 14 Pro or the new version have been reporting "iOS 26 photo blurry fix" issue, missing from the library, or are over-processed.
This issue is likely to have occurred due to the unfinished ProRAW optimization in the iOS 26. To avoid facing the ''iPhone 48MP photos missing'' issue, you may update to the new iOS after a week when the new update comes.
At that time no it was ios 18, but now I do have 26
I have also been trying out Project Indigo as an alternative camera app
Is it fair though
To compare digital zoom with optical zoom
Because in that case you can zoom in even further with the Nikon
If you don't mind losing some details
No no, they were both shot on a native focal length, that is just the image blown up to 100% for both. On phones I never zoom because of the digital crop
Checking your images at 100% help you accurately see the level of detail captured and give you an idea of what to expect in print
I also don’t show full image cuz my cousin is in it lol
Even with discord compression, the NiKon RAW looks better.
Nice
Yeah, look at the details in the rocks too
Ah I see
I'm pretty sure it's mostly due to the sensor size
There's physically more area to capture the (light) image with
Also sharper optics
Yes
From the moment I noticed the weakness of my phone's camera sensor, it disgusted me.
I craved the strength and certainty of the dedicated camera.
Optics for sure is a big part of it. Id be pretty sad if my phone in my pocket was sharper than my 7lb $2k lens
I agree
this made me lol so hard it scared my cat
Lol
Not sure this is the right place for it, but if I wanted to start vlogging, what would I need? D:
Something like this?
https://store.dji.com/product/pocket-2?site=brandsite&from=landing_page&vid=98631
really you can use anything. small camera, phone. the benefit of devices like these is the stabilization of the gimbal and just how small of a camera it is. I was about to say I liked the pocket 3 especially because of the flipping screen which is quite a bit larger but damn is it expensive
Do you know what Camera he's using here?
tyrception
DJI Osmo I believe
oh wow, DJI Osmo Pocket 1? kk
some of those dji products are so difficult to find now. I waited almost half a year after ordering an accessory before finally canceling
I love it
Is that Canon on the dog's head? Lol!
ngl I thought it was a camera when I first saw the image
wait thats not you?
lol no, not a big pet person
Sick
i think thats whats implied lol
Great shot! How long of an exposure?
I had my camera set to 8 second exposures
I don't have a car for that
Unless #cars wants to design and build me a civetta scintilla
nice.....i did something like thisa few weeks ago
the car looks great, holy crap
"scenic view"
lol. one sec
Fr
Nuclear explosion ts
This was an 8 second exposure too
Damn….the white crush is real
Not sure how to fix that

It js adds to the intensity imo
It does
Like you said….its like a nuke that went off lol
what camera do u use?
Samsung galaxy s25+
you know, it took me a while to realize that you can just keep editing the photo instead of leaving it "good enough"
the editing never ends
it can always be better. For some reason in lightroom my photos look fine, but as soon as I export them they look really dark
could be a color management thing. programs like lightroom are color managed so they use the proper srgb/adobergb/etc color spaces. opening a photo in a non color managed program can render the image incorrectly.
With many modern displays this results in oversaturated colors
for me the colors look pretty similar, it's just the brightness of it that is bad
almost everyone I show my photos to agree that they are too dark
the last one is still pretty bright I would say but the foreground is dark. mostly that is just because of the lack of natural light on the foreground. for similar composition I would probably do a multiexposure hdr photo. the idea is multiple photos at opposite extremes so you can retail more details in the highlights and shadows resulting in a more consistent photo. it's also a popular technique for real estate photography
to be fair I was on a bike moving 15mph along that path, there's no way I would've been able to get 2 identically framed photos
So uh I went to space today
He's from outer space D:
Lol
Jeff bezos is that you????
Bledner
I need a photographer's advice. Is my car facing the wrong direction in comparison to the sun? I probably should've had the car facing the sun for the best front lighting, shouldn't have I?
yeah you'd get more details of the car if it wasn't in shadow
Figured
it would also remove or at least mitigate the reflection of the lot onto the side of the car I think
Still a pretty nice pic though
Also overcast can be nice
Amateur here... Get closer to the car
Also 1/3 sky, 2/3 ground
Lighting is alright
Also get rid of distracting objects in the background like that power pole. It serves no purpose to the image
Would zooming in be better than getting closer to the car? (I might just test both, getting closer and zooming in)
Others have said that I should've turned the car towards the sun though
Get closer
Physically
Still gonna try both lol
Depends on your camera. If it's a phone with fixed focal length then "zooming" is really just cropping in. With a variable focal length I'd probably test 35-55mm
Maybe even higher. Just avoid wide angle
Neeeeedddd
Same
I don't see myself being able to get one unless I do professional work
prob under 1 k gets u a good camera and ok setup
Yeah ... I'm planning on upgrading to the canon r10 or R7
nikon z8 on sale rn for 2900usd refurbished hmmmm
Exxxpensive
Where are all the aurora pics?
I was waiting till later to get out my DSLR but I went out later and it seemed to be over
Yeah, from what I heard the storm is peaking during daytime in North America
Oooh tiltshift
I wasn't even going for a tiltshift but it kinda looks like that, now that you mention it 💀
How does one do that
Idk
There are tilt shift specific lenses. Shifts the plane of focus
2nd one is higher "quality" if you mean resolution/compression
There I rephrased it because my brain wasn't working earlier
However if I don't look for fine details I think the first one looks nicer, probably because there's less reflections and the black paint looks darker
How bout with a phone
@untold spindle what do you think? Bonus points if you can spot which one is the iPhone 16 Pro Max
Lol
Fr tho
Both are iPhone?
guessing the one with more compression artifacts is the phone
1st one
Only one
First one
Bingo
The bokeh on the pole gives it away
Yeah it can't quite decide what to do with the pole huh
That's actually an issue I had in Lightroom. I didn't notice it until after editing the image
Can't tell. Last one?
Second one is the DSLR
Can't tell with mobile compression
Good photos
Thanks bro
The extra bokeh gives that small car effect on the last one.
Maybe I'm just not good with Lightroom yet lolll
I like it.
Still learning but I like taking photos with this DSLR way more than my phone. The results turn out way better and I prefer putting more effort into making them look better
My parents: (get me a brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max so I can take photos for their company)
My Canon EOS Rebel T3 from 2011: lol that's cute
Soo true. Phones cameras pale in comparison with real cameras. All these cameras use cheap software tricks.
Photography takes skill and that's why I like it lol
Same here.
It's a fun hobby
And maybe one day I could take it professionally
Mirrorless is the future
And then something new will come after it lol
Next mission for me: finding what to do with a 250mm lens
lol
Not for a few decades probably
I wouldn't be buying now, but would a Sony A6400 be worth it over the A6100 for a beginner?
not very familiar with those but they look pretty similar and are both 25MP APS-C sensors
maybe the difference is in processing power?
These were back in May 2022
I need a polarizer 💀
I got a cheap K&F polarized filter that my friend suggested
Just some K&F filter
Can't wait to mess with it
I also just ordered a Benro carbon fiber tripod
fancy
I got some NiSi NDs and circular polarizers but haven't had too many opportunities to use them yet
Idk
Photo my dad took of me only photo my dad took that I have digitally rn so yall get to see it
Oh yeah that’s my dads fancy camera
Here’s me normally
that's a pretty nice photo, good light
it was in the afternoon where there were some clouds and rain but sun so ye
overcast makes for some great photos. the sky is your softbox
i like taking photos of me without my glasses and unique cloth combos so i may post more
in the future
I have so few photos of myself. my coworkers probably have more photos of me just from taking test shots lol
i don't do them that often cause i don't use social media
but when i feel cool
i take a photo
if something is really pretty'
then i rember it
like nature
looks great man!
Amazon: Oh you have a polarizer filter coming in today? I’ll deliver your package at 4pm at the earliest
Amazon (at 4pm): You enjoy being let down? Yeah we’re gonna have to deliver your package at 7:45pm at the earliest now lmao
that's what I do to my brother on insta
Nah
Crazy
that's me bro 💀
Oh wtf you're younger than I thought you were lmaoo
Figured you were young but not like a middle school kid lolll
Bro just posts images of himself lmao
At least get a little creative
I stay strapped
I'm trying to print one of these for christmas
all good
Don't have a Camera rn
stuck on i phone 15 plus camera
also
i'm stuck in cities having a hard tome to find places to take photos
so takes so time
Do it. It's worth it
I made two of those with my phone. I actually took a video for all of them and then screen shot the part that I used
And then I used an app called Magic Eraser to turn myself into a transparent PNG. And then Phonto to paste myself into the images
bruh is this a new fashion trend or something
$1759
yeah there are some very decent prices as we get closer to the end of the year
Yo I found something
I see a fellow Beats ™ enjoyer
lol
What headphones? 👀
My daily drivers are meze 109 pros and they are on a apos flow cable
Are Nikons gold hybrid cams? I've been debating between a r6mkii and a a7iv for a while and been wondering what happens over in the Nikon side
r6 is a great all around camera, in the world of nikon the competitor would be the z6iii which has very similar resolution specs, great color, slightly better rear display. the r6 has a digital hotshoe I believe which is nice if you plan on getting accessories for that. AF on both canon and sony is a bit better but the AF in the nikon z6iii, z8, z9 are much better than their previous mirrorless bodies.
imo sony color is more ideal to work with in post specifically for video, nikon has the best out of box color for photo but is building out some great video cameras with the z6iii and zr, canon has a nice blend of both worlds
I would really recommend also looking at the lenses on the systems. you might find something you like for specific system.
also worth mentioning:
r6mkii uses dual SD
z6iii uses CFExpress B & SD
a7iv uses CFExpress A & SD
CF cards are really fast but type A is a hell of a lot more expensive than type B
My main concern is low light, af, good ibis,n and the ability to take both good video and photo. Afaik these 3 all have very similar specs and such, but I can't come to a definite conclusion
A7iv has best video, r6mkii has better ibis, Nikon+Sony have many more lenses
They all read blows in the categories that I'm looking at
damn...youre really good, motor
Thanks bro
My friend used to own a Sony A7R III and took some waterfall shots. He told me how to shoot shots like that so I went all the way to Austin because "I knew a spot" lolll. Also went with my girlfriend and taught her how to shoot photos like that
Basically just a quick 1- or 2-second exposure
I could've taken shots like that in my backyard lolll. We have a pool that has some flowing water features
Wonderful
He's getting an A7(R, I think?) IV for Christmas. Lowkey jealous
bruh when the motion blur starts looking like this you know the light flicker is bad
but that looks cool if done right
sure but it doesn't look great when there are dark scan lines all over the images and they start asking why xD
the light flicker is causing this weird coloration on the black curtain too
You live in Japan?
I’m visiting Japan
Oh HHhH
Amazing
some bird hanging out in my yard
That's a weird looking pidgeon
Penguin?
Didn’t know they could climb trees
I tried something lol
Haha I did something similar years ago when I got my first car. Drove through Hoover dam. This was before GoPros
Sick. What kind of lens did you use for that?
Epic
My favorite lens. The canon RF 100-400mm 5.6f
This reminds me of a photo i got of some friends tubing over the summer. I was just sitting on the back of the boat taking pics
oh nice.
ik you wont show them, but i can see it in my head
yeah I only don't want to post because I had 1 or 2 photos of that series publicly posted
'lil tilt-shift-ish fun
Yeah the first is just the unedited lol
I like taking the pics that didn't really come out how I imagined them and doing fun edits
oh neat
Caught this beautiful sky during work
Hot dang
Oh hey speaking of clouds
Was gonna send earlier but forgot
Nice clouds
Fr
Oh yeah don’t know if I ever posted, got myself a xmas present
haven't even had it a full month and the shutter count is already almost 10,000
This came out really well for the little effort I put into it
Lol
bruh
I decided to treat myself (Tamron 17-70mm F2.8)
Love my Nikon Z6ii
Can I not yet add photos? Bummer
Just have to chat a little bit and the first level up role will allow you to send media
yeah z6ii has gotten me through a lot but the af has been starting to really frustrate me
OH NICE
F2.8 is more powerful than I thought
whats the specs on that lens and camera? im not familiar with Sony gear
for light gathering power, true
didnt read above. great lens
now start shooting!
f2.8 is wonderful
I'm going to start shooting things at work today
taking photos of random things around my house
the catalog I use for work can't fit on my local drives anymore. hopefully it's usable running from a nas
I should probably take some of my gear in for repairs
I love having to use wacky shutter speeds for concert events
game stuff
go to scenic place
sun has an absolute blast over-exposing this photo (I wanted a long exposure of a water fall. This is only 1/13 seconds with other settings set for proper exposure)
And yes this was even when using a CPL filter. I don't have an ND filter and now I know I should've gotten one lol
This is ASS
Some water I guess lol
yeah this is why having nd's for landscape is nice. also picking which time of day you go
Low aperture and slow shutter. Example: F22 and maybe like 2"
I took this. I had my camera set to one 1" and f/25. ISO at 100
What camera are you using?
Samsung galaxy S25+
Yeah that might be a problem lol
guh
Maybe on an iPhone you can use night mode. Idk about Android though
It's easiest to achieve that look on a real camera
Phones can't do everything lol
sadge
You can start with something like a Sony a6400. I got mine with the kit lens, but I'd say it's best to start with something like a 25mm prime lens and just buy the body
Like either 20mm or 25mm unless you have the money to get a decent zoom lens
Take a live photo and then set it to "long exposure" in the photos gallery
Need to make sure the phone is well stabilized while taking the live photo
Some 3rd party camera apps will have more control as well
Whoop misread phone as iphone
Presumably there are android apps that can do a similar thing. It isn't a real long exposure, just stacking frames.
you can kinda do it
Iphone huh
first collection with Nikon D810
rest have my classmates so rather not have them here
which is majority of them
@green condor or anyone, anyway or recommendations, on how to use or what to use for using a phone as a monitor for a camera, everything im seeing is hdmi cable to capture card to hdmi to usbc out cables unless thats really the only way to do it
potentially using a canon rebel t6i
idk yet if imma bring the rebel t6i or the eos m on my trip
yeah there isn't a super easy way to do that. I remember using a 3rd party ios app at some point with a weird usb adapter that kind of worked in some ways. There are some slightly more robust options like the phone processor/adapter thing by atomos for video monitoring and recording but I am told it is expensive and finicky. I would also look to see if the first party apps have anything available. In what way were you planning on using a monitor?
seems canon camera connect is something that can be used but the reviews on it that ive seen, granted are old, but they arent great or super positive on the app but looking at it on the store page it looks ok from a ui standpoint, installing it right now to test it.
main reason for using it is just so i can see better. eos m is just a screen that cant be moved in any way and since its old its not accurate to the picture im taking.
the rebel t6i, screen is better than the eos m, but still hard for me to see cause bad eye sight and my glasses make it hard/awkward to actually look through the eyepiece
I feel the struggle of using viewfinders as a glasses user. yeah I would give some of the apps a try but typically they can be pretty laggy or low framerate when going over usb
biggest problem of all this is im going to have to use my kit lens that came with the rebel t6i as my main lens on my trip to japan
buy new lens while you are there 🙂
give money
poor 🙁
give lens
I only got spare nikkor, no canon 🙁
i have adapter
actually wait no
the adapter i have is for canon to fit my eos m
ill just bring the kit lens and 24mm lens for food pics 🗿
pray and hope the kit lens is good enough for landscapes
i also have another lens i plan on bringing for landscapes just to test out since i bought it a while back, holga hl-c 60mm f/8, suppose to be like vintage kinda look
24mm is also pretty nice for landscape. just watch the edge to edge clarity of a kit lens at wider focal lengths
oh neat. I wanted to pick up a vintage lens for fun at some point
Now I just need the cables and capture card assuming canon connection doesn’t work
Looks funny
whelp, hdmi cable might have to be the move
cmf phone doesnt support for nfc but my iphone does but i dont want to use my iphone since i have to use it for everything else
Yea no, just gonna get cables and a capture card. This is cooked
theres also like a 1-2 second delay depending on how fast stuff is moving in front of the camera and will just freeze sometimes
yup
some cameras do still have a delay on their hdmi output but shouldn't be nearly as bad. I think my nikon z6ii was near the worse end of the spectrum in that regard having like a half a second delay or something
$60 for a capture card and hdmi cable that wont get here till 5 days before i leave because i dont have amazon prime
might just tough it out and hope i can take pictures in focus using the built in monitor on my camera
if you can zoom in on the preview from the monitor that always helps
just realized, im locked into bringing the rebel t6i cause i only have 1 battery for the eos m. i have 2 for the t6i
irony in that being i use the t6i as a webcam so i have a dummy battery in it and the eos m has been my main actual camera for all the mice/mousepad pictures ive taken
Lol
i just visited the magiclantern site in forever and they finally have a build for the rebel t6i
i dont have a extra sd card
Always gotta have spare sd cards. Luckily they are pretty cheap now
both my batteries are dead for the t6i cause i havent used them in so long so now i have to wait for them to charge
it takes time i know, but the current build for magiclatern for the t6i is super super basic, just more of a "hey, we managed to get it on the camera" kind of build
i dont have all the features as i do on my eos m build
mainly like focus peak and magic zoom feature on the eos m build
Yeah focus peaking can be really nice to have
focus peak has been really helpful on the eos m since as i said, the screen i cant move and its lower res so its harder to see without a monitor but focus peak tells me what is in focus or not
w mom, she bought me the capture card and hdmi cable

Brian Head, UT
Taken with my phone (sorry yeah it's a boring photo)
love those colors
interesting vehicle lol if I was able to I'd prob try turning it the other way toward the camera
I love the shadows coming from those trees
Oh it was locked, I just saw it on my way to the lake lol
Looks like a scene from outdoor boys lmao
You mean… you tried to get in??
yes
Yes
Aperture affects the amount of light a censor gets. I think it indirectly affects focus. But what affects what's in focus or not?
It affects depth of field
On iPhone, all I did was tap to focus right. And didn't change aperture at all
What makes it so oj kirkland box is in focus vs the blue downy bottle being in focus?
Aperture/depth of field is how "deep" the focus area is. Changing the focus point moves the center of that depth
How do you change the focus point? On auto focus, it's by clicking on the screen. What about manually?
Is it just called focus distance?
Yeah the iphones exaggerate this affect with post processing. but with cameras you always have a focus plane. objects that lie on the focus plane are where they will be sharpest, as you move further in either direction from the focus plane the image gets softer. You adjust the focus plane by turning a focus ring but many phone apps simplify this to simply tapping on an area of the image. if you lower the aperture (make it wider) the focus fall off is much quicker from the focus plane and a narrow aperture has a much wider fall off so more objects will appear in focus
Some apps with more advanced settings do have a “focus ring” of sorts
what are some general pros and cons of dslr vs mirrorless cameras
Quick Summary:
DSLR: Bigger, optical viewfinder, legacy lens support, longer battery.
Mirrorless: Smaller, EVF, faster live autofocus, modern video features, camera controls electronic aperture.
does that seem right
Yes except mirrorless is also way more expensive
Unless they've come down in price, haven't checked in a while actually
Lots of good deals on dslrs, but repairs can be more difficult to source. Mirrorless has some advantages with the flange distance being smaller, lenses are often lighter weight, they also have more robust video recording options.
The evf vs optical can be a big deal to some but they are so different im not sure i can clearly say one is better than the other
The electronic aperture is going to be important for older lenses. Some much older dslr lenses might have difficulty adapting to mirrorless bodies due to this or older af systems
Looks like canon r100 gets you into mirrorless for sub $600. Only 380 shots on a charge though, oof
Using optical on my SL3 I can get something like 1500
Manually
The lens will have a focus ring
This isn't a videography channel. banned

Love the textures in the clouds
Fr
Nice detail, contrast and texture. Good comp. Nice pic.
I think I nailed the last one.
@green condor i has no pictures of japan, didnt get to go
mom thought it was a great idea for a family trip to instead of buying tickets, just do standby and hope we get seats
im planning to go later in the year by myself and actually buy a ticket

Neither work, I think
You need an e mount lens
Actually the first one will work
Idk if I'd buy any lens less than $100 though...lenses are usually the most expensive part of photography
Only $799
Express your vision in intimate detail an f/2.8 high-speed zoom made for Sony full-frame mirrorless packing cutting-edge technology into a compact body, Tamron has created a high-speed zoom lens specifically designed for Sony mirrorless cameras: the 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III rxd (model a036). a great ...
i'm buying a used camera as well
i figured i'd cheap out on the camera, and get a lense to get started. then slowly buy more lens as i ease into it
Gf ordered a "Lego" camera. This mf got a f23mm lens

Basically a 450mm lens for my a6400
Made it back into LEO
naaaaAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Tamron, how dare you include an SD card that doesn't let me shoot at 100 Mbps (it came with my 17-70mm)
Yeah I started using UHS-III cards now
I’d aim for b&h or Adorama before amazon with photo gear.
Lexar cards are my baseline.
Same but I just saw on Amazon while I was looking for other things
Totally understandable. Amazon’s still uncomfortably cheap for loads of things.
I still haven’t found reasonably cheap CFexpress B cards for my z6ii anywhere else.
Yeah I just stalk b&h for sales
Urryday I’m deal-zonin’
Sigma releasing that 135/1.4 has me sorta depressed I went for Nikon’s Z mount. I felt compelled to order an a7r then canceled it for a z6ii. I’ve heard good and bad things about the megadap etz adapter.
My current goal’s finding an affordable z mc 105/2.8 macro, a laowa 8-15 fisheye and a decent longer, maybe Tamron 150-500 for track days around Waterford Hills speedway and annual cruises and car events. Probably favoring the 24-120/4 for the wider telephoto to minimize swapping and exposing the sensor to dust during rally events with Jankowski Motorsports; Snodrift, namely... Michigan rally.
Slowly working in creative lenses I can apply for car modeling and cosplay modeling. Also an easy selection for things like ren fests. My brother in law has a few cosplays he displays next to his theater screen. Prince Armory Vader and Fett which he also wears to conventions and ren fest. Hoping to work some light painting in with a model so versed in stationary posing.
Lindsay Adler is inspo, Gavin Hoey and Jonny Creative... more crafty and textured work. Need to find an affordable high-detail projector for some backgrounds.
I landed a $500 gvm sd300c for 200 with one of their holiday sales and a pre-owned price.
Light painting some product shots.
...using an Ants on a Melon RGB Critter BT flashlight and sol saber and fiber optic mods.
Here’s some shots with the acrylic writer.
Key: gvm pl60c, fill: Digital Sputnik Voyager, kicker: gvm sd300c w/ 42” glow beauty dish and grid
...the french press shots wer all done with the Critter for light painting and all the product light was waving a Nitecore MH10 v2 around at it. Practicing minimal gear use.
Shutter between 8-15sec on all.
It sucks that the quality is ass because of Discord's compression
I'm sure these look amazing though
Where was the Viper meet?
You can open in browser and it looks a bit better
Not much better
That's why I host an instance of Zipline lol. I can't stand the compression, plus it practically lets me upload at whatever size I want
It’s a road rally. It starts at the Chelsea Provings Grounds and usually leads to a restaurant around Brooklyn, Mi... then turns around and heads to Woodward Ave and a hoteI near the M1 Concourse. It’s called the Kennonball Run, named for my dad in his cheeky way.
He runs it annually. Here’s dad giving a memorial speech for Roy Sjoberg before the start.
I guess this image will be in an article for the next “Viper Quarterly” magazine. Some of my photos will be in it.
Wow
👀
I like the monochromatic choice
@jolly heath next time, if you can, you can pick your favorites, like 5 or so
Got it. I can do that.
Thought all y’all nerds would love this (speaking to myself)
Oh, I see, lines.
All of those are things I learned in school that no one else knows about outside of actual photography people
beats chest “we are the elite!”
Very useful
I fell asleep for 2 whole minutes and ended up here trust
Chat wyd in this situation
haha funny number
you done for
Not cross the event horizon and hope I have something to thrust me away
It's not all doom yet
TIL that a higher aperture number increases the sharpness of a photo
You can easily tell a difference by looking at the top-right of my motherboard
https://zipline.terracontents.com/raw/YGmpEy.jpg
https://zipline.terracontents.com/raw/4oWMKN.jpg
Well, sort of, but not universally? Higher apterture number has a deeper depth of field. I think in the first photo the GPU is in focus but the motherboard/back of the case isn't quite in focus
That makes total sense. I might try again later but with focusing on different areas of my PC
From the first photo, you can see the focus area pretty well on the top fans. Notice how the rear of the case is out of focus, then the middle of the fan is in focus, then the front of the fan is out of focus
This sounds about right. I think the focus point was on the GPU, too, which lines right up with the part you circled
yeah you can see that the gpu heatsink fans are nice and sharp
So I guess a higher aperture basically just puts more things in focus, thus sharper
Technically there’s a sweet spot for each individual lens for general sharpness and that is related to aperture for primes and aperture and focal length for telephotos.
^this too. But in the example of the PC it's definitely just depth of field
I kinda want it lol
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPTDjaZ
surely the optics are garbage
Neither nasa nor Artemis have noticed me yet
Saw their earthrise photo so I did them one better
How's that Framework?
wonderful Cachy OS is extending the battery SO much
Nice. I've never heard of Cachy OS. Arch-based?
yep
Nice pics
screenshot of a photo but I saw some birds at work today
Ooo
Great shots, motor
Thanks pookie bear

That one shallow one in the center must have been a very ancient crater that almost got completely covered by the lava ocean back then.
I shot this photo by using an oreo lol
What

Antigravity A1: The world's first 8K, 360, sub-250g camera drone featuring Insta360 stitching technology, and simple "point-to-fly" controls.
I want the a6400 so baddddd
but then afterwards, i still need lens
UGH
Great photo
Damn….hm….im going to try to post more often then
Great stuff, motor….hows the weight?
It's actually not very heavy. For a 300mm, it seems kinda small lol (until you actually zoom it to 300mm)
Nice. Keep up the great work
Thanks bro. I have a trip to see my friend in Arkansas today. Should be very scenic. Can't wait for the drive
I’ve seen some very decent 18-50mm lenses
I'm looking at a particular 12mm atm
Hm
@winged raptor telephoto club. Whoop whoop!
Photography is so much fun!
The fun:
Lmao did you get that today?
