Cadbury isn't even Cadbury anymore, it was owned by Kraft and then Mondelez since 2010
And Mondelez shunted production from Canada, the US, Ireland and NZ to China, India, Brazil and Mexico
Mexican chocolate
I wonder if the modern mexicans have their own take on chocolate
Since ya know
That's literally where chocolate came from
I'd love a cup of Aztec style cocoa
Iirc there is one major Mexican brand and they put cinnamon in their chocolate
All ive gotta say is food culture is dying out in america, its all different flavours of the same thing at this point, pure sugar fat and salt with plenty of carbs to go around
Taco Bell tried to come to Australia
Got absolutely destroyed by the local competition
Having worked at taco bell, not remotely surprised
If you saw how the food is before its made
God
Australian food culture values the quality of food a lot
Which surprises me even more that McDonalds still makes money... Somehow
Also Mexican chocolate is known in general for including cinnamon
Name
Name means a lot
Maccas
The competition unironically offers way better value for money
Thats never been the issue
People like names
Brands
Look at apple
True
Some people arent the brightest, and some just dont know what to look for
And then some people dont care enough
I only ever get fast food for pizza or if Sonic is doing bogo
Those are the people who pay mainstream
And also marketing
Not everyone likes researching into a niche
It's funny because the McDonald's in shopping centres are surrounded by indian food outlets, kebab shops, other fast food
And yet...
Id rather grab some good indian grub any day
Although indian varies in quality ofc
It really just comes down to knowing how consumers work
For sure
When they do bogo you can get a burger with two of their big patties for about $3 each
It's funny because the kebab shops next door will literally fill you up for the same price of a burger
People like products that give off an aura of quality and recognition
The only time I can justify
Or just trust
One of the nice things about Australia is that there's A LOT of authentic food
People expect a consistent experience
Even in shopping centres
So major brands and chains don't have as large of a hold on consumers as in America
Wait a minute this is #tech-industry-news how did the convo become food
I think I made an analogy about how early access gives you cheap crap
Hence american chocolate
Ah
Remember the fallout 76 pre-order items?
I remember the Fallout 4 bag
The fallout 76 pre order edition was cheap as hell
It's like being promised a chocolate bar and then getting Hershey's
Oh wait, the nylon bag was 76
Fallout 4 was fine
Dont forget its modding community
On its own its fine
That is the only real redeeming factor, otherwise it is good gameplay with trash story and terrible dialogue compounded with half baked settlement mechanics and outdated even for the time models and animations
^
Although i still enjoyed it as a kid
I was excited when it came out
How old is it now?
I forget
The only thing I appreciate with the dialogue is Nick Valentine and the fact they voice acted a ton of names for Codsworth
Boy
Boyt? Boty??

Amd is once again using less power than nvidia thanks to their blunder
But 3.3ghz gpu is nutty
But there is no leaked date or anything
Looks like this card will come out even later
I dont think we have seen any models for it either
I assume the 9060 will have half the core count of the 9070
I think they are killing arc by not fixing this

Is 8GB of VRAM enough in the newest games? With the rumors stating that there will be an 8GB version of the 5060 Ti, this discussion is heating up again. With the 4060 Ti 16GB we can directly compare identical GPUs with 8GB of VRAM vs 16GB of VRAM and measure exactly how much performance the 8GB GPU is leaving on the table.

The games he show barely go above 8
For this card 12 would be the right combo but at least 10 bro come on
You know what I was expecting a few months ago? That the 9060 xt would have 12 and 9060 have 10
Makes arc look kinda compelling but you need a nutty cpu for it. They are stopping arc from getting more popular with that issue
Arc is such a good idea
They are stunting its growth with that driver issue
They seem to just not care enough to fix it
Or maybe it is not fixed yet because they would have to rewrite the driver
Jay said the 16 gig 5060ti should be 380 which is the 8 gig version
And the 8 gig version should just not exist

It would be nice if amd adopts that and undercuts by $50
I'm getting arc bc it's cheap and I have the software. Also bc I hate nvidia rn.
Oh you have a new cpu so you could get it and chill
Its not for me though unfortunately

Although this is different
This is because intel was underestimating the potential, so they had conservative clocks and voltage probably out of fear of restarting instability issues
So performance was left on the table
When does 265k get that

It is expected that the 9060 xt will come out in june
Alright so this makes the 5060ti 8gb even more of a waste, in my opinion at least. I think that 8 gig sku will be even more dead than the 5060
both SKUs are a joke, but ti 8GB is worse
it's baffling that these cards even exist, the cost to double the memory is like $20 plus $5 or whatever for the added cost of clamshelling it
Well gddr7 is not cheap like g6 which is why intel and amd are still using it
Yup
5060/ti also use G7? i thought they were on 6
Yeah they are also using 7
price is probably a fair bit more in that case, but still not a ton unless they're really really volume limited
wacky. ig that's one way to make up for the tiny bus width (except that blackwell seems not to benefit from extra bandwidth for some reason)
Yeah thats why they still kept bus width really low
G7 gives a lot of bandwidth without them having to expand the bus
more to do with laptop compatibility, but yah
true in theory, but blackwell seems to just not benefit from it. 5080 as an example has like 40% more bandwidth than 4080/super off the top of my head with slightly more shaders and it's a whopping... 10% faster. with extra power draw to boot
blackwell is just a bad architecture made worse with poor design decisions (12v highfailurerate connector included)
I think its because it wasnt limited by it in the first place, so for that card it was basically like higher clocked ram and a few hundred more cuda cores
Yeah they doubled down on it and I g uess its staying
So like a 4080 super oc I guess
But you can oc it even further and gain more
4080 super plus ultra bin

possibly. it seems 5060 ti isn't a huge uplift over 4060 ti though, despite being almost the same die size with again tons more bandwidth
the stupidest thing is you can very very very easily prevent the melting issue, and in fact Nvidia had this solution in place on the 3090 ti before the official PCI SIG spec was finished. but the spec (which afaik Nvidia helped work on) requires that ALL 12v pins run into a single 12v input plane. all you need to do is split the 12v pins into individual planes, throw a current sense circuit on there, and you can very easily detect off balance load between pins
70% more bandwidth, 12.5% higher TDP, and admittedly a 4% smaller die area. and you only get 10% better performance? bruh moment imo
lisa su loves me though, i adore my 9070. i'm hard modding it this sunday for moar gainz
Although it has a couple hundred more cores like the 80 skus, its more relative to the original core count. 4350 vs 4600. Which is still pitiful, but relative to the 4060ti core count its a larger increase It seems that the cards werent affected by bandwidth too much in the first place, which may be why the bandwidth isnt helping that much. To me its basically some more cores, some small architectural changes and higher clocked memory
But maybe the additional bandwidth might help in a few years from now
I do remember something about the 3060ti not being too far behind the 4060ti in some scenarios, so maybe the gap between these two instead might grow over time
the 4060 ti was severely hampered by bandwidth, in fact so much so that in original reviews it relatively frequently lost to the 3060 ti which only outmatched it in mem bandwidth. in raw compute the 4060 ti was ahead. yet increasing bandwidth by 70% with 5060 ti does not really rectify this...
Right
My memory is spotty with that card
Clearly
Ig my brain literally faded this thing

To me its basically some more cores, some small architectural changes and higher clocked memory
if it were this then you'd expect 5060 ti to notably overperform where it's actually at. overclocking the vram to not even close to what GDDR7 hits on the 4060 ti will basically close the gap between 40 and 5060 ti
i sincerely believe that a 4060 ti (which uses the SAME NODE) packed with faster GDDR6 memory would outperform a 5060 ti 9 times out of 10
provided you normalize for power draw especially
But you know
They deliberately made it worse over the years
Which is nutty
The 3090ti had 3 rails to split the current, 40 had 2, 50 has 1
So all the current is going to one rail
yea ranks
But we did a lot of yapping so you should level soon

gotcha. i was super active on here a couple years ago but had to terminate that acc so now i'm a pleb again
i didn't realize the 4090 split the inputs tbh. it's impressive that they still manage to melt like that lol
Yeah I guess 3 was the limit
But since 50 series has one, sense pins are pointless
Novideo trippin rn
Asus's astral cards literally split every single pin individually before combining into a big unified power plane, but they're not allowed to do anything with their improved telemetry bc PCI SIG spec, so they have to use their app to let you know if your cable is badly seated lol
it's a solved problem on so many fronts but Nvidia insists on being extremely silly
Yeah it will just show an alert but if you dont notice, it will still melt because of no balancing
Better than nothing I guess but still
You seen the video from jay and derbauer where they cut the wires and the card still runs at full load?
The true jank
yeah exactly. but if the spec wasn't scuffed, or if Nvidia let them ignore it, they could do a hw solution and have the card just shut off instead of requiring an app that you start with windows to give you an alert lol
i don't think so no, i kinda tuned out after a while bc the cable/standard just sucks for so many reasons
True I only found out about the current balancing stuff because of the buildzoid video a few months ago
it's a huge reason i went RDNA 4 actually. originally i was going to spring a little extra for 5070 ti because ngl i'm a sucker for DLSS 4 (upscaling). it looks so unbelievably good on my 4060 ti. but i'm really into modding and OC and stuff, and pushing 500+w on a 12vhpwr cable is not something i want to do on a card that i'm terminating warranty support for haha
But yeah derbauer I think got it running with just two wires lmfao
so now i have my 9070 that i can abuse on sunday
on a 5090?
You could see the wires on flir
Yeah
bruh moment lmfao

Thing was literally glowing man
Surprisingly the connector did not melt. Also when jay tried to get the 4090 to melt too, it also wouldnt do it. Even when he did the 5090
that's like 4x what a PCIE 6/8 12v pin can safely handle, and 8x what they're rated for, AND the 12vhpwr pins are smaller and thus not able to effectively carry as much current as the PCIE 6/8 pins 😭
I guess the change they made with 2x6 forcing it to make better contact did help
4090 is like a 350w card in most scenarios tbf, a lot of the time it won't even hit 100% TDP in games
Thats why i am surprised it didnt melt in their videos
Right, but you can see northridgefix videos of how many cards he is getting. I think jay just got lucky in that video
In fact I think to this day he still gets cards to fix
bruh
Havent checked in a while

tldr, PCIE 6 pin is based and two of em can handle 600w. wish they would have done that and provided pigtail 2x 6/8 pin female to 1x 6 pin male adapters instead of goofy 12vhpwr schenanigans
Yeah but you know nvidia
They are frickin sleek man
They need that apple look bro
So they made a single connector that can deliver a lot of power
And tried to fix it to make it better so they can stick with it, but then made the spec worse
This is truly something learned from apple
shame they fumbled the mac contracts back in the day lmfao
lovely chatting with you man but i have to get to sleep. i've slept like 2-4h the last several nights bc of finals and opening shifts at work 💀 i am fried lmfao
they stacked all my exams on the days i opened. it's been hell lol. but i passed so we ball

So, a 3060ti
Maybe if they dont oc it
But the card uses up to 145w
Well thats the max
So they could maybe go lower but even like 130 would be a lot for one fan I think
I mean there are blower 2080 cards which is technically one fan
There's also this single fan 3060 and I'm pretty sure the 3060 is like 160-170w tdp?
Just with a quick pcpp search I see a similar style of 2060, 4060ti, 6600xt, 1070,
So 150W tdp is definitely doable on one fan

Radeon competitor? 👀
Will intel take market share because of amd only slightly undercutting nvidia to keep their margins as high as possible?
Only if they have enough stock
and no crazy driver overhead
They confirmed they are working on it, so now its just a matter of time
Yeah this is probably what will stop them from going above 1%
But tsmc is kinda overloaded right now. They raised their quotation rates because of that, and amd, nvidia and intel are all splitting their cake slices with the majority of them going towards ai customers/datacenters to get the most they can with the competing supply
What is left over after all the orders are then divided into things we can buy
I think intel may be able to alleviate this a little bit if they can get their node situation together, and it seems that yields are actually improving if I remember right

9070 xt is the fastest out of all of those in gaming so this is kinda baseless
But this is about 2/3 of the 9070 xt
I think this will still be just a tad bit faster than the 7700 xt
Or average out to be roughly the same
not beating the 7700 is a huge letdown
You see how the 9070 xt is worse than the 7900 xt, yet it can beat the xtx in some games?
I think it will be a slightly better 7700 xt
This comparison isn’t doing it well. This is just a point of reference, and the 9060 xt is about 2/3 of the 9070 xt
This is just an estimate from tpu but they estimate the card being 6800 xt perf
9070 xt is estimated to be 157% faster. 100/157 is ~64% so this checks out

kinda baity headline but at least they cover this later
On the surface, the specifications and benchmark results suggest that the G100 is a severely underpowered GPU – at least a decade behind modern offerings from Nvidia and AMD. However, it seems unlikely that a 6nm card would actually ship with such outdated hardware in 2025.
What likely happened here is that the test was conducted during the sampling stage, where unoptimized firmware and drivers resulted in the low reported VRAM and clock speeds. As for the FP32 performance, it can't be accurately determined without knowing the GPU's execution unit subsystem configuration.

Either the roadmap is crowded or it actually comes out in 2027 https://www.guru3d.com/story/tsmc-n2x-node-slippage-could-impact-amd-zen-6-timeline/
AMD’s anticipated Zen 6 architecture may not arrive until 2027, marking a significant shift from the company’s established release rhythm. Originally targeted for mid-2026, the Ryzen 11000 series could be facing a year-long delay attributed to changes in TSMC’s advanced node production plan.
N3C is coming out 2026
So that picture is real
N2X will come out in 2027

I knew zen 6 was in a tricky spot because of the timing of these nodes
I was debating whether it would be x or p, thinking p to keep up with their release schedule
Zen 6 laptops will use p but they are wanting desktop to use x
So it’s really not a delay, we just interpret it as such
Tsmc was vague with their release date for n2x
They say “in 2026 or later” in a 2023 roadmap
So kind of a delay but not really but also kind of a delay
“It could come out in 2026 but this node is too far away right now so don’t hold your breath” let’s say. Doesn’t really count as a true delay because they never had an official release for it

What architecture will we get too before there is a roadblock? If that’s even possible.
Word is that amd will probably release a 9950x3d variant with two v-cache ccds as a stopgap until zen 6 comes out
I am skeptical though
Is it speculated to be alot better then the one we have now?
Also like we will eventually get up to zen 10? Or is there going to be diminishing returns at some point?
That is up to amd or whatever limitations they encounter
If they need to make something new again then they will
The highest as far as we know is 7, but I think zen probably could do 10 because they do not seem to be running out of things to improve with each iteration
It will be a pretty small gain
It's just a stopgap solution, and that is if it even comes out at all
Yeah true just curious how much better it actually gets. Also interested in how well intel is going to adapt.
Lol why in this channel
e core spam is how

The only consumers who will benefit from two CCDs with V-CACHE will be those running Servers, LLMs, and other applications that benefit from the cache and don't suffer from latency penalties caused by the cross-ccd communication.
Gamers will have 0% benefit from a dual v-cache CCD design, unless the CCDs happen to have a higher boost clock then the v-cache ccd on the 9950x3D in which case you are just paying for a highly binned 9800x3D as you will need to limit games to only use one ccd.
Thanks for clarifying

My dad paid $500 in electricity earlier this year
The reason that happened is because of electricity is more expensive
why the hell is the american econmoy and chip market now predicated on virtually useless technology
it's not useless to run ai, but to mass market ai? yes
that's wasteful
using all that compute to fold proteins is way more beneficial to humanity as a whole than running ai chatbots and generation
or even to accelerate researches and automate certain processes and eliminate human error
but of course, money is sweet
(which is spent in a circle btw, the circle of ai market)
nvidia provides ai startup with sone cash
and said startups buy hardware from.. guess who, nvidia!
Yeah eventually this stuff will die down and models will become more tailored towards specific tasks
There will be a car designing model that makes an organic chassis design (already real) or a protein folding model, or a model for something else
Purpose built models for something specific rather than supergrok
I use grok for searching really specific things, like why is my vram changing power states while recording something in a game, and if this is something related to how the mesa driver is managing power or overclocking
At first the power state throttling was happening because I pushed my vram too far, but it was still happening with recording, even at stock, and grok searched a shit load of pages to find out that there is some kind of power management priority thing going on where it does not deem the vcn to be important enough and yet it constantly consumes more of the power budget, so it will throttle the memory for stability
And that tracks because at a lower load, the stutter from the memory changing power states is not as noticeable
So when I am playing solo in deep rock and my gpu is at like 60% utilization, the throttling is not as severe
yeah, like beneficial ais are great
like protein folding, organic design, neural processors
I think these models are good at search because that is what they started out as

Apparently, it’s a 6700xt power with 8gb of vram
But it’s supposedly better due to optimizations
No way it will be 6700xt
It's got the specs of a 7600m
With OC and optimizations it will probably be a bit closer to 6700/7600
Ehhhh
I just hope developers optimize for it as good as they do with consoles
4K on that thing better give me at least 60fps
I guess you can use FSR with it
I don’t see how it can hit 4K 60fps without FSR
Are you guys really expecting to get 60 fps on this thing
Maybe if you play 5+ year old games yeah
This thing is smaller than the big bottles you get at a pizza chain
i won't expect 4k native
that's too much to ask for what is rumored to be about 6600xt perf
which lands it behind current gen consoles
Even performance will be tough with new games
You are not playing new stuff on a 4 liter cube
thats barely 1440p native
4k perf is 1080p
So a 6600 xt isnt terrible
Actually for older stuff it is pretty good
I was on a 6600 for a good bit
This configuration will have its place
You can play some warframe or some other lighter game on here no problem
Especially on a tv where it will be harder to tell the issues fsr has
I wonder if this is why that linux engineer from valve basically one man army'd his way into getting fsr 4 working on rdna 3....
This was a good bit before radeon did that intentional oopsie github release
It was earlier this year
I remember reading basically a dev blog thing about it. It showed the menu of spiderman. Initially it had some artifacting and nutty stuff going on, but at that time the fact that it even worked at all was crazy
After some more work it was properly working and it developed further
Now ge-proton automatically turns this on in games that support this
So there are a bunch of smaller things like this that make the gabecube seem a little better than the paper shows
still, if the rumors are true its nearing 800$ it wont be worth it
Not trying to cope or anything but you are also paying for the form factor
This thing is 4 liters in volume, with an internal power supply
that is cope...
but that also means its gonna be HOT
It is in between a mini pc and a really tiny and expensive sff pc
I am thinking like 700 but really nobody knows
All numbers going around are speculation
To be fair I think that handhelds are expensive and look how popular they are
They have a fat fan in the back that can move a lot of air
The rear of it is basically completely unimpeded
still a 4L pc with what, almost 200w of power?
thats gonna be hot
It'll be like 150
Not so bad, but what I don't like is how they are using paste on the gpu die
If you are gonna use pcm then use it on both dies, not just one
And there are gonna be people that make front panels with more ventilation too
Also there is a little ridge in between the rear feet that stops more warm air from being recirculated
And the heat generated is not coming from one spot, so it shoulf be fine. Over time though...
