Nah yours is probably the same size if not larger
how has other tech gotten so small
but gpus so big
like i have the entire human existence's knowledge in my phone in my pocket
but my gpu is like quadruple the size of my phone
Introducing the iPhone 10070 XT
*Holds tablet up to face
no matter if pricing turns out good tmr and performance also good
i cant forgive them for the naming scheme
its so stupid imo
8700 XT sounds so much better
hell 8700 XT and 8700 XTX
is better
That yeston design goes hard
im glad I needed an anime woman to dance around with it that helped me see the design
Fr ima just look up an image instead
besides the anime girl on the other side i like it ngl
but my gpu is like quadruple the size of my phone
Think how big all the servers are hosting the info you acess via your phone
Well the sapphire doesnt look that bad in this shot
the yeston was there the whole time i just never paid attention
Gigabyte card is really ugly
They really made an intake for the fan
Hope that looks better when face down in the case
CyberPowerPC will check all GeForce RTX 50 if they have correct ROP count before shipping Premium experience. Well, that’s a first. Gaming systems integrator CyberPowerPC has launched a new program to ensure that each of the RTX 50 cards shipped to customers meets the full advertised specifications. NVIDIA is under fire for its mishandling of [...

What's #9?
Not sure I was gonna ask too but forgot
Interesting design
I think it would look good in a white case
yeah i liked the 7000 series reference
Huh
now you can build a full Sakura theme PC
with a Yeston GPU, fans, AIO and keyboard
Use some white case, motherboard and RAM and you're full waifu
550 for the 9070 makes complete sense to me now
They're doing that to avoid a price war with nvidia
It'll change after release
It's so obvious that's what they're up to now
It'll drop to 500 post release
I thought it was to upsell the 9070xt ngl 😭
Nah I am very confident they're hiding intentions to a 5070 with their number rn
5070 drops just before the 9070
AMD I reckon will pull that outta the hat last minute
So to sum it up u think amd is waiting for independent performance reviews of the 5070 and once they have those numbers they’re gonna drop the price based on the price to perf of the 5070 meanwhile within that time they’re letting the 9070xt hype rise
Crap did they rework their marketing team or smth
They'll annoy people with the last minute change but I reckon there's a rug pull from amd comin
Whole new lead apparently
Dude must be devious for this cuz this is quite a bold move
Cuz typically when a company announces a product line they always try to upsell to the higher end model
But this way
They’re gonna be upselling both the 9070 and 9070xt
Could even be 80
Then it will replace the 7800xt as a value kinh
Rip to stores that still haven’t sold out 7800xts if the price drop happens
Lol
But eh they can afford to discount those ig
7800xt production is still going right?
That's an optimistic stance
But hope you're right
these cards are so pretty man why cant they be real
so weird how much marketing they made for the cards just for them to not be real
hopefully they make them eventually or something
I don't think anyone is actually buying MAB cards
Lots of people did
It's just that, relatively speaking they were very very rare at a price that made sense
not really. If they don't have at least a concept of a ref design what are they gonna do? just be like "ok X brand, you're the new face of our 9000 series marketing"
They can't have such overt favoring of one of their AIB partners or else some of their other partners will take offence. As such, they need to have some sort of marketing design not related to any AIBs, even if they just have to make it up. Though it is possible that they jury rigged some reference cards for internal testing over at AMD

GeForce RTX...
Hub covered a lot
Lol you are taking this too seriously
Its not this deep man
They just need a face to a name so they made a concept to attach the 9000 series to
Thats all
I think fsr 4 will be pretty good
I might f around and get a 9060 xt

What I am not the biggest fan of is the vega 56 thing they got going on
Except well the 56 was noticeably cheaper than the 64
A $50 difference at $600 is really not a lot
Lets say you get a chungus 9070. you are almost spending as much as the xt
Maybe its like 570 for a chungus cooler
You would be at like 600 at checkout
They should have made it 530 at the highest, so that way even cards with chungus coolers would have enough of a price gap
But what will most likely happen is that the 9070 will be like the 7900 xt where it falls even more than the higher model they are upselling you to
Hub showed the 7900 xt and how its price fell more relative to the msrp compared to the xtx
I think thats gonna happen again after a few months
But what these guys are saying in the comments does make sense. The 9070 is the xt that failed the binning to become one, so the volume would be more limited
In a few months the 9070 would be a very good option
If you have a 9070, you can have an unstable 9070 XT
Chips in a nutshell
Intel
Reminds me of the 7900xtx and xt situation
Priced so closely that people just picked the xtx
Let the xtx sell for a while and then significantly dropped the price on the xt next year
I know I know but to have such a nice design marketed and attached to the product for so long just for it to not exist is disappointing
3-10x means little when there were like 5 5090s 😭
There were hundreds of 5080s
But actually hopefully the extra few months gave them time to build stock
Do you think you are committing to a 9070 XT? @sleek phoenix
Yeah 600 is way more attractive, I wish the non XT was below 450 tbh but hopefully their 60 class cards are actually good value and performance for once
Ik the 7600 series was kinda mid
Would be nice to get something like a 6600series again, seems like those have become good value entry level cards as they’ve aged
Did you decide what model? I think you maybe mentioned XFX or Gigabyte I saw
Gaming OC or pure I reckon
XFX maybe still
Idk, really want something that fits in a fractal north
Yeah hopefully the cards aren’t gigantic considering they are all mostly below 300w if they aren’t the OC
I’m sure some will be overbuild, the nitro+ looked massive
The nitro I would buy if not the damn 12vhpwr
I hate that they did the nitro+ connector like that but I trust sapphire to do it out of everyone
Plus it’s not drawing 500w
Idk if I see a load balance on that PCB I might still consider nitro
But I really
Really
REAALLYYY
Hate that connector
I had months of anxiety over my 4090 with that stupid thing
Not gonna go through that again
Wasn’t the nitro+ a 16 pin
Yes
big power
Is that different than the 12vphr
That is 12vhpwr
Oh
Asus prime I'm also thinking about
Idk why this whole time I thought the 12 in the name also meant the number of pins
It's small af and will be loud but also 3x8 pin and fits in a north
Used to with 30 series
Get a sapphire pulse or xfx base model
Pulse also on the cards as well as pure
I would've liked an xfx magnetic tho
Those are 360mm tho
But impressively powerful
XFX bins cards
So even though they look a bit ???
I'd be willing if it fit
Wdym by bin
I hear that term a lot
I’ve just been not super sure on what it means entirely
Sapphire first for sure
Even their idea of 12vhpwr on the nitro has me slightly compelled due to airflow over it
They've thought it through
Then it'd be I think XFX
They have good warranties
And the card binning
Cards are often cheap af with tricks worth a few $ extra
Then powercolor I think
Asus is just
Ew
If I'm picking a prime btw I'm forcing myself
Lmfao
Gigabyte I would honestly put higher than asus at this point for radeon
In US tho I'd consider it only marginally ahead
But the OG 3 are much nicer imo
Power color, xfx, and sapphire are the only main aibs who do just Radeon right
Obv asus and gigabyte do both
Ye
But I'd say those three are pretty good tbh
Asus and gigabyte I'm on the fence over due to warranty
XTX nitro+ is so clean
if money wasnt an issue and if I had more tech knowledge/more reason to id love to try a sapphire card
tbh ive never understood the powercolor hype
the red devils look okay to me
but im not a huge fan
ik some people like swear by them
They're usually good for the price

NVIDIA shipped RTX 5090, RTX 5090D, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti GPUs with missing ROPs. We're not sure if that'll affect the 5070 cards yet. This is a major defect that can have a performance impact, with NVIDIA itself confirming a 4% impact to at least some situations with (it see...

bro is not sleeping he is dropping these at 1am lol
LOL NO WAY
9070 XT is about to match the (defective batch) 5080
Woah
That WOULD put it in 4080 territory
That's like
Really good depending on price (especially with RT that's about 4070 Ti Super tier)
We're already expecting it to consistently beat the 7900 GRE and slightly lose to the XTX so yes it's in spitting distance to the 4080
If it is lower than 420k HUF (roughly XTX pricing)
I'm getting it
But I'm expecting it to be about that much
Despite the lower MSRP
MSRP is 600 USD
So it's like
About the same deal
But regional pricing will vary
Yes
EU MSRP is always higher
Because the Euro is weaker
So I was extrapolating from previous gens
I don't think it'll be cheaper than a used 4080/new XTX here
So I'm like a little depressed
Cuz that kinda ruins the value proposition
On the flip side
At least it's not more expensive than the XTX
9070 is gonna be like the 7900 xt where its price drops a lot over time relative to msrp
Depressing statement lmao
Good for AMD obviously but depressing how bad the market is right now
Maybe amd raytracing will finally match nvidia next generation since their launch was so lackluster

Even accounting for that it can still be more
Some things are priced accordingly but some are still higher
Imagine selling your 4080S for a 5080
Only to get the same or worse performance
Weird how they're supposed to just work but they really don't
Nvidia hire some human engineers and stop using AI for your drivers please
Yeah well the new model just came out you gotta let it mature
This thing came out like the ugly duckling mate
Baby screamin like a mandrake and Dr. Nvidia yelling "IT'S FINE, SHE'S A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL" while the parents ears are bleeding
The child is also violently thrashing
And has hurt several children (the 3000/4000 series)
Dude is always scaring the crap outta pcmr
@sleek phoenix
Except it's on the same architecture as the last gen model, just with a beefier AI engine and GDDR7

We've seen a number of user reports pop-up about ASRock motherboard and 9800X3D CPU instability or failures, including CPUs dying (or sometimes, seeming "dead" due to instability -- but then working again with a new BIOS). We put together this report as we research and monitor th...
Assrock returns?
It looks like it's the opposite problem that Intel had. The boards aren't supplying enough voltage instead of too much. BIOS update fixes it usually, unless you're one of the 4 people with burned CPUs.
So it's probably the better type of failure?
How does that burn the cpu though
it's a different issue apparently
something something "this is unrelated to the cpu burning issue" something
Do we know what company that is?

Really just a slightly budget cut 4070 super
4070 Super less $30?
Reminds me of how disappointed I was with the 4070 being effectively a direct replacement for the 3080 but at least this time it costs less not more (if you can even find stock. Now known to have virtually no 5070 stock out there, yet again
The fact that it matches my 4070 Super 💀
Wow I could sell my 4070 Super for $600 and then buy a 5070 for probably $900 (no FE card, so whatever the AIBs are being charged at)
You should watch the GN review
He keeps saying where the 9070XT is not on his charts
Throughout the whole thing LMAO
He turned it into a running joke
I can't watch it rn lol. Between what GPUs is he saying the 9070 XT is between?
I'm kinda considernig a 9070 XT lol
Only if it's a decent(ish) upgrade from my 4070 Super of course
Ok so foreword
I was slightly off about that card
But on average I'm mostly correct
Think 7900XTX but more RT and a bit less raster
The value is definitely present
So basically a very slightly worse 7900 XTX
If it's an XTX -10% ish card that's really good imo
I'll for sure get one of the AI capabilities are there. I have plans with that in that case
You have a lian li case I thought
Never heard of ai
Lmao what
Lmao what lmao
Lmao what lmao what
Lmao what lmao what lmao

no the company that took over EK
Subsidiary funded startup I would think
Never heard of LM TEK
I see
Heh
I'm guessing it's a bankruptcy/legal move?
My guess too
Shed bad finances, bankrupt EK, start over
It would make sense, but we'd have to look into it
Didn't take long...
It's literally just a shell company to keep the assets

This FSR 4 review shows tons of side by sides vs FSR 3.1, DLSS 3, and DLSS 4 at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K resolutions. I also look at the performance of FSR 4 vs FSR 3.1, and discuss supported games. All video capture was done using an HDMI capture card on a second PC. The FSR footage, and Native TAA footage was captured using an RX 9070 XT. The DLSS...

So uhh
9070xt is damn close to a 5070ti at $150 lower MSRP, plus FSR 4 is a huge leap
Congrats AMD
Of course we'll need to see how much stock they put out bc that will affect what price you can actually buy the cards for
So far it seems like AMD hasn't screwed it up but there's still time
I wonder with the 5070 price announced as $550 if AMD will drop the 9070 non-xt to like $500 or $525
Nah the 5070 is a huge flop
Not that you can buy one, there's even less stock than the 5080
The 5070 was what, 25% worse than the 5070 ti?
True. But I'm slightly disappointed that the 9070xt is better value than the 9070
Looking at the charts up there it's between 20-25% yeah
Not accounting for price though, it has (barely) better cost per frame
Just how good is AMD's FSR 4 upscaling and to what extent is Nvidia upscaling advantage mitigated or even nullified by the Radeon team's machine learning based technology? Let's just say that the Radeon team has delivered something very, very impressive here.

larger perf hit i think though

There are two separate rails
Still not ideal cos the banks are parallel
Yeah
But better than 50 series at least
It would take a very specific method of failure to still melt with the fuses
One wire per group would have to carry the entire load
And it would need to be a bad cable to begin with that would melt at only 15A
Huge
Nvidia just recalled 5090s
Sure seems like
Well yeah fire hazard
But a recall is rather extreme
Do we have details on the scope of the recall? Is it all of them or just certain ones?
Very scant info atm
Fire hazard isn't even confirmed
It appears to be a very real recall though
Bit of a psa
It's not so much news as the fear itself is very real and very scary
Be wary of this buying one of these 90 cards
To be clear he means there's only 90 of them available, not referring to the AMD 90 series
Yeah that's what was expected here
720 as I said was borderline good which is the tangent of what steve is saying
At 730 you bleed into 5070ti msrp
And it becomes a horrible narrative
And even at 900 it's a difficult discussion
I said this before release but them holding on at 599 then pushing 649 later for a 9070XT will go over really well at this point
The 9070 however should stay at least $80 apart from the XT though
Guess it wasn't fake msrp after all
🥳
its fake msrp for everyone who doesnt have a microcenter
and newegg has already raised the cheapest model $120
The key words here being "encouraged" and "excluding specific region tariffs and/or taxes"
They can't stop a brand putting the price up
Not something anyone here can do about it either
either way, most people arent getting these cards at the announced MSRP
9000x3d drops on my birthday thats cool https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-699-ryzen-9-9950x3d-and-599-ryzen-9-9900x3d-pricing-march-12-launch

$700
AMD is really taking the lack of competition... Exactly the same way Intel did
wasnt the 7950x3d like 899
$700 is wild
Man I kinda wanted 16 X3D cores :/
Just bought a car I can't afford computers rn lmao
You still need epyc for all X3D
Rip
as i was told in another server, "you always have the option of just not buying it" kek
Yeah that’s true. I have a 7900X. I don't need it lol
It's really so I can have a better CPU than my friend who had a 9900X
i found it funny that criticizing the price rewarded me with that response
will be $2k for just a GPU and CPU the way things are going
just dont be poor i guess
I mean, it is a luxury item. They have no obligation to make it cheap. It's also the absolute top of the line, not everyone needs to buy it
if they would fix the weird gaming ccd issues with the higher core x3ds id buy a 9900x3d
I mean I would go for one but I just bought a car lol
i could afford it no problem, doesnt mean i enjoy paying that much for one component
even gpus are a hard pill to swallow these days
^
and realistically, for new gpus, this is the cheapest theyll ever be again in our lifetime
so its only going to get worse
and if retailers like newegg continue to not use their lottery system for new launches, scalpers and bots are always gonna win
whatever next gen radeon is as long as its not over like 850 usd ill buy it i think
i cant justify spending that much on a gpu
but zen6 x3d? 👀
i had a 9070xt ordered for $850 yesterday but was convinced to cancel it
Yeah 250 over msrp just isn’t worth
theyll be $700+ MSRP within 3 months most likely
and its the same price i paid for my 3080 which i can turn around and sell for ~$400
yeah I can't justify upgrading anything but my psu atm
i just like upgrading lol
i dont need more performance in anything rn realistically
6950xt is still a beast in what i play for the most part
It wasn't this way until a few years ago when the shortage hit and Nvidia realized they could get away with charging $2000 for a GPU and people will still only buy from them
In games with an issue just disable the second CCD. You can even do it with a single toggle in Ryzen Master.
In my experience, with the 7900X3D, most games run just fine. They've improved a lot. I switched my preferred cores option to 3D vcache cores in BIOS and that fixed a couple games entirely. DX12 ones with anti cheat are the only ones you need to disable the entire CCD now. Anti cheat makes it ignore core assignments from the firmware and driver level.
Most anticheat is more malware than actual malware now
Kernel-level anticheat should be illegal
Basically a rootkit yeah
You can't cheat on a kernel level anyway
Oh yeah and even if you uninstall the game
You can't remove the anticheat
The best mfing spyware out there
Having kernel level access means they can access and monitor all of the system
And yet they still fail to detect the cheaters that exist in every online game
but i thought their anti cheat was flawless 😉
Oh yeah there's totally not paid services for tarkov where someone spawns in, insta kills everyone, and you get to loot everything
tarkov isnt kernel though now is it?
battleye is kernel
but not on the level of riots right?
It goes far enough to automatically kill programs that interact with the hardware like speedfan
The Anti-Cheat Gold Standard
Technically correct since they all suck at their jobs equally, so they can claim a win by default
Bro but they need to be a step ahead bro

Woah when he zooms in 500% in last of us 2 its actually really close to dlss 4
And the next one in spiderman is in between 3 and 4
This is really good considering it just came out
But in ratchet and clank its more like dlss 3 when walking towards the stairs
Ive seen FS4 described as DLSS 3.7 by a fair few people recently
It depends
Sometimes is very similar to it, sometimes it will handle something specific better than both of them
Or will just be in between the two
Woulda been nice to have that for older hardware tho ngl
Or for less powerful hardware like handhelds
All kernel-level is the same tier useless anticheat + effective spywaer
@sleek phoenix
We could say tho
nGreedAI SHOULD recall the 5090s because they ARE fire hazards

No the fun part is the poor worker at HP that has to break down pallets and unbox all the laptops that they just loaded
I'm sorry worker #836 you aren't going to see your family for the next week
I can't comprehend these numbers. Is this good?
AMD bounced back 7% in one quarter. Yes, that's a lot
Startup moment. lol I actually doubt that. Maybe faster in one thing but not some others
Wow okay that's great
Oh yeah, it's funny at best
News worthy tho
Maybe fast at AI I guess lol
I see whole memory modules in the shape of SODIMMs. So maybe that's like a 128GB GPU that's specifically for AI lol
(I also didn't read the article)
(I can't read)
(How are we talking)

Is that just from 9070s?
Oh wait nvm I can’t read
Yeah I knew the recall wasn't going to be real. It doesn't make any sense to do one. Just replace the cards as they die, it's cheaper and less public. It's the crappy way of doing it but that's the business way.
Maybe they're AI generating the performance using a 10x algorithm when nvidia isn't allowed to use one. A taste of their own medicine for the 5070.
Their site is full of AI images
Dual PCIe interfaces is crazy. I also just realized that there's an Ethernet plugged into it
The company says that its Zeus GPU not only supports features like upgradeable memory and built-in Ethernet interfaces, but it can also beat Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5090 by around 10 times in path tracing workloads, according to slide published by ServeTheHome. There is one major catch: Zeus can only beat the RTX 5090 GPU in path tracing and FP64 compute workloads because it does not support traditional rendering techniques.
With a die that small? Also its risc v based so its doa
That thing gonna be as powerful as a raspberry pi

Broken and yet kinda great at OC despite that
"We are competing with the 5070 Ti" (actually competes with the 5080)
Fr
Decides to underclock it
Yeah bro those xfx cards hurt amds value pretty bad
Silly pricing from them
This whole launch makes no sense
How does the 9070 steel legend cost more than the xt steel legend

Paying 40% over for the same card is just goofy
msrp defenders in shambles
11 of 39 cards across all retailers at msrp
It was good while it lasted, and amd shot itself in the foot by not having reference models
Maybe it was part of the plan for them to not have their own ref model
I think I only saw 2 5070ti msrp models at micro center so its still better than that at least
Amd once again just following nvidias shadow
this is my thinking, it gives them deniability
and they can ride the wave of people saying they got it at msrp from microcenter
the posts complaining on social media are drowned out by the people who got it at msrp from MC
and theyre well aware MC customers are barely even a fraction of people wanting cards at msrp
its great for those people, now what about 99% of the rest of the world?
i mean i know felix says they had some poking a bit ahead of msrp by like 20-30USD in australia but i havent seen much of that myself here
Ye about $20 difference
no way this thing doesnt melt
NVIDIA set to launch RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPU, the closest we get to TITAN Following the disclosure of the card’s name, a simple web search reveals the specs of the upcoming workstation card from NVIDIA. According to the Leadtek website, the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell will feature 24,064 CUDA cores. Not only is the […]
ik this article is a few days old but still
Yeah I have no idea what they are thinking
Yeah lets draw 600 watts from a 600 watt connector

Correction:
"Ah yes, let's draw 600 watts from a 600 watt connector with effectively zero safety buffer on it AND deny that it wasn't predictable when the connectors predictably melt!"

AMD shipped more RDNA4 cards in one week than NVIDIA sold RTX 50 cards in two months Recently, ComputerBase held a survey about the RDNA4 launch, its general response from the community, and how it compares to the NVIDIA Blackwell launch. There are many interesting questions there, so check it out, but the most interesting […]
I was in that 40% but now probably in the 18%
Yeah I wonder why
A "product" that's badly priced, plagued with issues, and one that consumers can't even buy
Versus a decent launch price + decent availability
It's a very low bar to cross
I mean yeah. They didn’t limit their stock to like five GPUs per outlet
Damn people were more desperate to upgrade than i thought
fomo gonna fomo
I know at least a few people who are considering putting themselves in a hole to get a card
and a few ive seen in discord doing really dumb things to get one
"Fixed" by covering up the actual problem in a way that doesn't work in every game
But it is very much improved
Ofc if you're on Linux the issue barely ever existed and every game runs like it's supposed to
Not accounting for, you know, it being Linux
It's funny how RTX user's been having issues on windows
While somehow my linux nvidia drivers are stable
It's just the same as the 7950X3D experience but you see the mature drivers in review instead of spotty launch
There's nothing special going on there
Hell, process lasso did the trick more than enough to give this experience from early on
I'm definitely in the was interested not anymore
Nvidias paper launch and AMD's microcenter exclusive is just not a nice place for pc gaming lol
THEY'VE SHIPPED TWICE AS MUCH AS THE LAST HALO CARD
LMFAOOOOOOO
🧢
Hmm so the physically damaged cpus might not be an asrock exclusive thing
How much of that was shipped directly to scalpers and server farms
there's also that rumor of that company in singapore stealing a bunch and sending them to china, but no proof of that
I love lying with statistics
That's one of the first things they teach you in high school statistics. You can present the same numbers in different ways to different people and they'll come to different conclusions.
That makes it easy to manipulate people by only presenting statistics that are favorable to what you want their conclusion to be.
wasnt it just the 4090 for the first few weeks of ada??
Damn that's crazzyyy. I cant believe the 5090, 5080, 5070Ti, and 5070 combined sales is higher than just the 4090 sales in a 5 week time span. Actually just unbelievable. Truly an unheard of thing. What has this world come to, allowing such a thing to happen?
Lack of education
It's more like intentionally cherry picked statistics to support their argument, which is a form of misinformation
The evga situation is basically confirmed now
Congrats nvidia you're now exposed for aggressive pricing

It was always intentional
nGreedAI is building a monopoly, and AIBs are now a THREAT to that monopoly
Anyone looking at their profit margins recently could tell that they are doing this on purpose to kill off their AIB partnerships without burning bridges publically. Their margins were hanging out at about 12% right before 10 series launched and it has exploded to 56% now
There is a big yellow sticker that says remove foam
You see that yellow right there, it extends to the peel so you’re gonna peel it and see in bold letters remove foam before install
That being said it’s annoying as hell to remove
Why’d you ping me? I’m not that incompetent
Never said you were lol
I ping anyone if it's relevant to them
Completely unrelated to any measure of competence
You own a pulse, I remembered this, therefore ping
It’s le joke

ASUS again caught increasing prices for RTX 5090 Even the RX 9070 isn’t safe. ASUS RTX 5090 Pricing Although the GeForce RTX 5090 launched six weeks ago, there’s been no change in terms of availability. In fact, pricing, which skyrocketed to or beyond $3,000, has only been going up since launch. ASUS, which has its […]

It was pita to remove though

i think i saw smth about that
i want to see the side profile

Intel's incoming CEO Lip-Bu Tan has considered significant changes to its chip manufacturing methods and artificial intelligence strategies ahead of his return to the company on Tuesday, two people familiar with Tan's thinking told Reuters, in a sweeping bid to revive the ailing technology giant.
Bruh we shouldn't have to turn it on lol
At least not on what is supposed to be a high end GPU
I could see needing it with a 4060
But needing it for 1440p on a 4080? Nah something is wrong there
Yeah these techs were a win more type of feature at first because games weren’t made with them in mind
But now they might be mandatory to be the same amount of playable relative to a few years ago
45% is wild
what a UNIT https://videocardz.com/newz/lenovo-launches-geforce-rtx-5090d-and-rtx-5080-legion-graphics-cards

that fin stack is huge
Would it fit in a Fractal Ridge?
its prob bigger liter wise than the ridge lmaoo
nah
technically
the Ridge CAN take a 3+ slot card
it DOES have 3 expansion slots
its scary that we are getting close to that point tho lol
I'd be more concerned about length actuallyy
when i got my xfx 6950xt i was like yeah this is as big as they get
then i took a trip to MC with my buddy last summer to build his pc and saw a 4090 in person on display
Yeah they are jarring
they in fact get bigger
whats the biggest 5090 yk of rn
i imagine the strix?
i want to compare my 6950 to it lol
Astral is 358mm long, 76mm wide, 150mm tall
And it is not the largest actually
Leadtek WinFast RTX 5090 HURRICANE
crap
since length is the main thing it seems like that limits matx stuff
their 5090 fe is the only thing that 50 series has impressed me with
besides the fact the liquid metal will eventually leak prob
thats so nice
stuff like that makes me want to build a small pc in the future
GALAX RTX 5090 1-Click OC would fit probably
Update for anyone that uses plex. Tldr: price is jumping significantly for plex pass and they now have a separate subscription to watch media outside your home network
Bruh they have no reason to increase the price lol
It's a self hosted server like bruh I'M the one running it 💀💀💀
Self hosted service developers be like:
Self hoster: I am going to buy the hardware, pay for Internet access, pay for the networking equipment, a VPN, domain name, and reverse proxy all of it securely (like anybody should do)
Devs for some reason: here's a service you could host. You can use it on your own hardware but like you have to pay me
Usually with these services you are paying for the software, organization tools, and their servers which you still need to access for some things
"You pay for Windows. Why is this different?" I don't pay for Windows 💀 (I’m not mentioning how here though)

Jellyfin gang
Oh cool, time to switch to jellyfin when my annual billing period is up in August
Thing is that jellyfish is actually idiotic
oh wait I thought they were the same thing lol
lol what
I was thinking of the Jellyfish DAS boxes
not the streaming software
Haven't heard of those lol. Probably a good thing though
I like my Terramaster :)
Big chonky enterprise-grade 16TB drives
it's something that Linus made a vid of like 5 years ago
he made a similar thing out of all solid state instead of hard drives like the Jellyfin used
then he made a follow up video of making the same thing for a 5th the price
Lmaoo typical Linus
"We understand that we have all of these tools and infrastructure while you guys don't have that kind of stuff at home. So we're doing it all over again for a fifth of the price!"
Just read this in Linus's voice
I mean it wasn't hard dunking on it because the Jellyfish DAS is a POS
It's like 40 thousand dollars and it's not even based on solid state
And that's for the 120tb model
They even use commodity consumer hardware
There's no special sauce
Just fleecing their customers
I want a petabyte server
Well now you can get one cheap, with today's sponsor server part deals...
This also slipped my radar
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/amd-rdna4-navi-48-is-25-percent-denser-than-nvidia-blackwell-gpus-53-9-billion-transistors-in-a-die-smaller-than-gb203
they get smaller but the coolers/power draw keep getting bigger
This is why mobile phones are way more interesting rn
Well the 9070 xt isnt that bad for what it can do, but its so much more than the 9070 because its a higher clocked 9070
The 9070 draws like 200 or 220 or something like that which is not a lot at all
Considering its like 90% of the xt thats little
My 6700 xt uses like 155 max
9060 xt is gonna have one 8 pin connector and be somewhere around a 7700 xt
Bigger die as well
They're mostly the same yes but the XT has a bigger die as well
Oh thats interesting
I thought the 9070 was a repurposed xt that couldn’t qualify to be one
But still, the xt has way higher clocks which is most likely the main contributor. They are pushing that one pretty hard which is why it uses 300+ despite a difference of 8 CUs
3ghz gpu is kinda crazy ngl
9070 has much lower clock speeds
Wait no tpu says they have the same die size
@sleek phoenix
Radeon RX 9070 “OEM” tested: 67°C under full load A Chiphell user bought one of these cards, although they are not officially available for sale. We are going back to the Radeon RX 9070 graphics card design, specifically an OEM version that looks like the unreleased reference design. It is not a straight copy of […]
It sucks lol
Works but the temps are kinda high for the nature of a 9070
That hotspot would be worrying
Yeah I figured from such a simple design
Still wish the MBA cards existed
At this point just so msrp could maybe be real
Not even that I want one
Still neat to see these floating around
@flint crystal @jade pagoda @plain gorge can you test this pls
Supposed huge boost to 50 series but I don't have a card to test EDIT: Repeatedly failed to be proven
EDIT: Seems untrue.
How do I test
The commands are in the screenshots, you need to use powershell or cmd prompt
If true I'll buy a 50 card ig
Nothing shows up but I can get 100% gpu utilization
Unfortunately I can't do much to help from my end
The reddit thread has all the information though
wait what's with that one comment about 40 series and sm_89
This won’t cook my card right?
this guy is an attention hog
So fake?
The supposition is that changing the SM version unlocks a huge amount of performance
Seems like it
Reason I'm asking is I can't see the OP
So I can't tell if it's truly real
The guy who wrote it doesn't speak like an idiot so I figured you guys could check in my stead
one comment says it was a phone pic of the 3dmark score screen
The implication was essentially a software lock for performance
Profanity
But understand
I just wanted to be sure regardless
Since it won't kill the gpu to check this lol
Alr guess it was a red herring then?
I wouldn't have been surprised if it was true tho, considering everything I heard prior to blackwell
And what blackwell in ES is capable of
Wouldn't have been the first time either. Intel did this with extra core dlc back in the 2000's lmao
Oh yeah this was the guy that said you can unlock 40% performance because his gpu went from 60% usage to 100
I do find it a bit odd that the nvidia mods are removing the posts rather than like flairing them as misleading and leaving a pinned mod comment on them

wait lemme see if i need to update
Built on Tue_Sep_15_19:12:04_Pacific_Daylight_Time_2020
Cuda compilation tools, release 11.1, V11.1.74
Build cuda_11.1.relgpu_drvr455TC455_06.29069683_0
i think i might
Well this whole rabbit whole did give me something of value
maybe the guy just has an outdated cuda version
Could be LOL
He still hasn't posted
I got 120 now after updating
code fails to compile dunno how to use cuda code tho
But it works enough for me to know it’s there
So good enough
If you notice any uplift it could be something
Likely not aligned to 40% but you might find something essential
Worth keeping an eye on
Prolly just going to lead to a ceast and desist. If the dude has released anything yet, prolly should download now
It was "fun" talking to the dev of the ampere vbios editor back in the day and them suddenly going like "oop, cant do this not that I got c&d lol"
The situation has changed in the last few hours
He now can't post an accurate screenshot to prove himself
If anything it looks more like he had a badly optimised rig that now performs more normally
Ok but I got a 40% performance increase please pay attention to me
Hey at the very least you can't say I'm not open minded
Open yo mouth for my meat
Crap i ran out of meat pics
Ig this will do
Wait i thought this was in general 💀
💀💀💀
inb4 conspiracy theory theyre doing it on purpose to make people buy new cards
Oh they 100% are
They’re pulling an Apple
yeah show me the proof
Yeah I saw the account was deleted

💀
Is it legit?
Lots of people on Reddit said it was BS
But with how hard he got censored I'm not sure anymore
The guy on techpowerup forums started this
He said something about nvidia locking away performance for money and this guy replied saying dont give them any ideas
This is clearly all his fault

On one hand this is legitimately just a scam if true
And the way guy was silenced lends credibility
However, there's no way nGreedAI would risk a huge class action lawsuit for performance they include anyway (because it's a software lock and we all know that software locks if found get cracked super quickly)
Ngreedeez
He had many chances to show actual proof and kept skirting around it
Pretty sure the reddit thread got nuked in like 15 minutes
Software differences between consumer and professional hardware has existed for a very long time. Find it pretty hard to imagine Nvidia would get in any legal trouble from what seems like just normal business practices assuming this is all true
I thought it was 40 series not using it while being capable of it while 50 series has it enabled
cuz they are the same architecture ultimately
maybe I misunderstood it
I didnt really look into what it was tbh. Assuming that's how it worked, still dont see how that gets Nvidia in any legal trouble
Lot of consumer backlash sure, but until Nvidia actually makes new statements about how Ada cant do something it can do, it's eh
Like for example, Nvidia stating that Turing/Ampere OFA had huge issues dealing with frame generation and it happened to be false at the time of making the statement (around Ada launch) would get them in legal trouble. So far no proof has been made that Nvidia lied, so nothing came up from it apart from consumer backlash
Oh the account posting about that was also suspended
Alternate offering B-stock GeForce RTX 5090 officially with missing ROPs One of the kind offer. What recall? If you can sell them for hundreds of euros. Just as we thought that the ROP-gate issue was over, a German retailer reminds us that these cards still exist on the market. In fact, only one card is on […]

T... Too many?!
they are trying to turn it into a gacha
You know I have to wonder how hwbot is going to handle all these unintentional hardware revisions. Will the GPU with extra ROPs be allowed to compete with one that's missing them?
Or will the ones with incorrect counts be blanket banned?
Wth is going on at the production line?
Whatever it is, clearly it's worse than we assumed
this is hilarious if true...
Benchmark highscore chasers are gonna want those lol
Wish that wasn't April Fools
Lmao..a win
Oh...its a joke....
Here's a Summary of the switch 2 direct
||SWITCH 2 SPECS:
1080p handheld, up to 4k when docked, 256 GB of storage, joycons are now magnetic so they dont slip and slide at all. Game share is also on switch 2. Backwards compatible with most switch 1 games. Theres also a gamechat feature that is super similar to discord
Nintendo Exclusive Launch Titles: Mario Kart World and Switch 2 Editions of games like BOTW, TOTK, along with a few games no one rly cares about as well as the ability to transfer data from your old switch to the new switch.
3rd party switch launch title notables: Cyberpunk 2077, Deltarune, SF6, Yakuza
Games announced for the Switch 2:
New 3d DK game, Elden Ring, Hades 2, Kirby Air Riders 2, New Hyrule Warriors Game, New FromSoft game (looks like a sequel to Bloodborne), Enter the Gungeon 2, and Silksong
These are probably the most popular games coming out and there is other games that I didn't mention
also switch 2 games will be $80 for digital and $90 for physical, and the games arent on the cartridges, youll need to download them after inserting the cartridge
So physical is digital with more waste
Congrats Nintendo, you have outdone yourself in scumminess
id never pay $80-90 for a standard edition of a game, especially with how bad most releases are nowadays
so glad i became a patient gamer
Thanks bungie for turning me into a conscious consumer
I buy as little as I can and the newest game I bought was three years ago

blows my mind people still support bungie
one of their lawsuits they had to use streamer footage for because the content being discussed was deleted from the game
Yeah I remember that
I think the people who still do just like being taken advantage of I guess
Abusive relationship

Yeah just spend another hundred this year itll be over bro dont worry
Although annual pass for just under 50 is not bad really
Might actually support the credit card fraud websites one day
breaking free from the content release cycles of 'mmo' games was such a freeing experience for me
I feel if they can run cyberpunk on the switch 2 why not make a little side money with Microsoft about forza perhaps
60 is already a lot for how bad a lot of titles are nowadays
more money doesnt just make it better lmao
give us quality, not graphics
i would be stoked if my sf6 copy on steam could somehow translate to switch
but i dont see that ever happening unfort
Believe it or not $60-70 for modern AAA games is cheap when you look at inflation. They make up for that cheap price with micro transactions typically.
tbf AAA games are also cheap nowadays
(in play quality not price)
id rather spend 80 on something like baldurs gate 3
Yeah they somehow take the previous game in the series, use the same engine, and still spend $400m making the sequel
Which of course the sequel sucks
and then indie devs making something better for 10k
corpos making things suck flawlessly
On an open source engine lol
all the modern gaming industry has taught me is "wait"
buying new games before reviews come out is like asking to burn your money
unless its a indie dev you trust, because their failures actually matter for their market
those big companies can get away with brand name and religiously ignoring issues
by putting a chocolate bar in your face
patient gaming is king, buy the game years later for a fraction of the price after years of bug fixing
It's not even good chocolate too it's American chocolate
nah its just hershey, at least some american chocolate is fine
although some belgian dark chocolate rn would be 🫦
We have specialty brands that are good. All the mass produced stuff is fine at best and taste like vomit when Hershey or Hershey imitating
Oh yeah those are good
When it's not just sludge and sugar
American chocolate can be quite good
To be fair that applies to any mass produced food too
Apparently American Cadbury tastes different to British Cadbury
It is made by Hershey

🤣
