I already cannot afford any 50 series why bother not jinxing it?
fair
Statement from NVIDIA, apparently some 5070Ti are missing a ROP as we'll
"We have identified a rare issue affecting less than 0.5% (half a percent) of GeForce RTX 5090 / 5090D and 5070 Ti GPUs which have one fewer ROP than specified. The average graphical performance impact is 4%, with no impact on AI and Compute workloads. Affected consumers can contact the board manufacturer for a replacement. The production anomaly has been corrected."

What the heck is wrong with companies
Nvidia, intel, and amd have all had major issues of gpus or cpus disagreeing with life
How many food recalls are there atm?

Asrock boards are somehow killing X3D chips?
@fast trout
Killing x3d
Do they know why
Not yet
I might avoid the 9800X3D for a couple weeks until it's figured out
Kinda worried
Knowing you I’m surprised you haven’t snagged one yet unless AU just hasn’t had good deals
Do you run Asrock boards?
I already have one wym
I meant avoid my current one
Also asus
Oh pfft
I bet it looks nice sitting in the box
Ik you mentioned you have multiple PCs, are they all Ryzen or a mix of that and intel?
Oh you made it sound like you were avoiding buying the product all together
Sorry I misinterpreted what you meant
So how are you avoiding it? Just not running the gaming PC?
ah gotcha gotcha
wait and see if they can figure out whats happening ig
also had this pop up in my recommended for some reason
This is how I would bash Nvidia over the head with RDNA 4, if I was AMD…

XFX falloff
Flagship XFX RDNA4 cards spotted on Amazon We have been over Amazon/XFX leaks for a couple of days now, but we finally got a look at the highest-end models. So, to recap quickly, XFX is preparing the SWIFT, QUICK SILVER, MERCURY, and MERCURY Magnetic Air GPUs. The first two were already leaked on Amazon, while […]
also apparently the missing ROPs are also on 5070tis
the ROP issue is like an actual physical hardware issue right? not something like software related? there are just like actually physically less of them than there should be?
Yes it's a hardware issue. They're a bad batch of chips that somehow passed QC.
The funny thing is the ROPs show up with the basic Microsoft drivers, then you install nvidia drivers and they're gone.
Lesson of the day: NEVER say "how can this get worse"
tbh it seems like this launch was rushed with how low stock everything is so ig I can see how stuff maybe got past QC
I just-
What
What

Btw how's the AM5 socket burning shennaigans
Is that still a real issue or a skill issue

Powercolor cards look genuinely good tho atleast
AMD RX 9070 reference design not for sale The company has reinvited us today for the upcoming Radeon RX 9000 launch event, confirming one important detail. AMD has only once confirmed that there is something that looks like an official reference design. The so-called Made-By-AMD (MBA) design is usually only offered for a limited time […]

When you look at it from that angle it does look fake

ALL USERS ADVISED TO STEER CLEAR OF ALL 572.XX DRIVERS IF NOT ON 50 SERIES.
Users of 30 series and 40 series are advised to roll back to older drivers using DDU should this issue occur. 50 series people will have to wait until further notice for a repaired driver (or alternative).
EDIT 3/3/25:
A number of reports of insane coil whine and unusual temperature behaviour have surfaced as of updating to drivers in branch 572.XX. Will update when I have more concrete information. This is a precautionary FYI, not considered resultant of the driver itself at this stage.
EDIT 24/3/25: Can now confirm the above information. All NVIDIA users on cards that aren't 50 series should avoid 572.XX completely. DDU and roll back to any other driver possible to avoid serious complex issues.
DDU tutorial can be found by typing "?ddu" into any channel on the server, or refer to this link:

NVIDIA responds to black screen complaints with ongoing investigation Still not clear if the problem can be fixed with drivers or BIOS update. We have received numerous reports from users of GeForce RTX 30+ series cards experiencing black screen issues since NVIDIA launched the first dedicated drivers for the RTX 50 series (572 branch). this is freaking funny to me, because the same people who switched over from AMD because of "driver problems" are now facing something stupidly worse
and I know some will claim "Oh, nothing happened with my machine" or "Just a lil bug they'll fix it" bs
not trying to say that amd is any better though, just funny to look at the current situation

GeForce RTX 5070 Ti with 88 our 96 ROPS found Earlier today, NVIDIA issued a formal statement confirming that the company has shipped GB202 and GB203 GPUs with a defect, which basically lowers the specs of ROPs. The company admitted that this may cause performance loss of up to 4%. The statement also revealed that […]
More defective gpus
This launch is insane 💀
Me five years later: "I never buy Nvidia because they have driver issues"
nvidia really said how can we make this launch like actually the worst
and started just going down the list checking off boxes
They've ticked 6/7 major component issues so far
Only thing left is mechanical cooler design and they've actually screwed up everything this gen
And with all those liquid metal FE cards? Hmm...
lmao luckily im on a pretty old version...
That's like a 10% drop in raster performance 💀
Here's a game developer's point of view on this situation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUY-EIclo40
A Game Developer explains why killing PhysX might have big implications...
[SPON: Use "brokensilicon“ at CDKeyOffer to get Win 11 Pro for $23: https://www.cdkeyoffer.com/cko/Moore11

He does have a point, there were games made not that long ago, 10 years or so, that used 32 bit cuda and they've turned into unplayable 15 fps stuttery messes on 50 series.
Hmmm might that increase performance, and therefore value, making Blackwell worth the purchase?
Or is PhysX that irrelevant
I might be asking the wrong questions
It's not, they're forcing obsolescence of games less than 10 years old and not warning developers ahead of time. Indie devs in particular might be targeting lower end hardware with their titles, which can require them to use older software.
There's still millions of people playing Skyrim and the LE version used 32 bit rendering
Solution: buy a 3050 and use it as a PhysX acceleration card, apparently
My question is how does this pass QC?
Like if even the consumer can just boot up that program (forget the name, inspector?) and see the incorrect ROP count, how tf are they missing that in QC
It's somehow related to nGreedAI drivers
With the default Windows device driver it shows up normally
The ROPs only get fused off when the official Nvidia driver is loaded
Huh
Apparently
Ok interesting
And once the ROPs go, they're staying gone more than likely
Perhaps the driver has some accidental code that triggers that specific fuse?
No nvidia has confessed to a manufacturer defect
But then how can it show up initially before the official driver is ever installed?
The windows display adapter being 176 count is now a red herring
Red herring
I'm just speculating tbf
It would've been a soft toggle if at all
But my theory would be (hopefully) accidental code that somehow creates an environment that pops the fuse
But I'm purely speculating
This only affecting a fraction of them wouldn't really make a lot of sense though
I'm not saying it's likely
Would love nvidia cards to have more fuses but they in fact have less than ever this gen
I'm just trying to make sense of it
Lol
Agreed
Like there's only one element missing to put literally every possible failure of a GPU launch into one generation
And IIRC that's also hardcoded into the FEs...
@sleek phoenix you know what I'm thinking right?
GPU-Z, and it reads the firmware from the GPU which doesn't require more access then the BIOS has to read
LM on the FEs?
Yes
Would that count as cooler failure?
Give it time and a vertical mounted GPU with LM will leak
TBF I expected that to be the main issue, not that Nvidia would speedrun all the other possible failure options
@cyan hamlet why laugh me I'm right
I'm laughing about the speedrun part
LM was just the first issue we were aware of since they talked about it publicly
I mean
Am I wrong?
But they managed to make everything else fail before the obvious one failed
how long would something like that take
say the gpu is used under full load daily for a few hours on a vertical mount
It depends on how well it's sealed. It took about a year for PS5s that were supposedly leak proof to leak.
PS5's use LM?
thats news to me
Yep and that's also why they have temperature issues after a while, it all goes to one side
Apparently it is not just RTX 5090 and RTX 5070 Ti, but also 5080 Exactly how widespread is the problem, NVIDIA? Yesterday, NVIDIA announced that two cards may be affected by a production “anomaly” which causes lower ROPs specs in the final configuration. NVIDIA claimed that this can result in up to 4% lower performance, […]
It now affects all of them

Every gpu model now has the bug
how do you check your gpu stats like that
like this thing
this?
Yes
I have more ROPs than that 5080
whats the 128/320
IT GOT WORSE!!! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SvCi8oHsLbc
and ofc it's nvidia
The way this article reads
Feels like this is what should have happened 3 months ago
Maybe this is part the tale of why supply was so crap
Nvidia was holding back until the political climate was established

Bold strategy cotton
Didn't play out well lol
Fascinating
So CoWoS-L seems to be the process for full blackwell chips?
And then what we see leading from that is slices and downbins ig
I think I'm interpreting some of this a bit wrong, they're inferring the process is 2.5D/3D
Pretty sure 50 series is not
Lmao
There might be tangent info to it though influencing everything else
Wth is cowos?
Chip on wafer on substrate
L R and S imply the different methods
Now I'm not very good at this but I'll try, one sec
So the full A.I chips
I think they're G100?
Those are fully packed blackwell dies that are jammed with hbm memory on top
Then balled onto a pcb
CoWoS-L is the process of packing all of that onto the die
The blackwell chip and hbm together with an interposer that helps it all communicate
Desktop blackwell has been suggested multiple times to use downbin blackwell, and this is common practice. Many dies in nvidia and amd skus are cut down or sliced dies
Some maybe fused
I see
So it's like a super advanced fab thing
So basically more GPUs going to servers is the gist
And we're hoping that means more "lesser dies" to go to consumer GPUs?
But because of the HUGE order, by tangent this means we will also see more desktop allocation is likely
Ye
So this by proxy is likely
Where that "stock surge" allegation comes from
This is the first real indicator of it
So TLDR nGreedAI making more chips is more gud
You'll never get a FULL blackwell die lurking on a desktop 50 card, they'll be sliced, fused, etc to make them work
Ye
It will potentially see the supply issues sorted in the next few months
A few months is a long time tbf
Ye it is
And the damage is pretty much already done
Maybe 60 series will be good tho?
Hence me wondering why this wasn't done 3 months ago
We normally see that before launch
But the political climate with trump probably is the reason
I think that was to do with instability and like
Uncertainty?
Lotta money in nvidia rn
Ye
They weren't sure what trump would do
Or even if he would get in
This is my reasoning for this, that is
But very plausible
And as a result, we had the trainwreck of a release instead of a 3 month delay
☠️
Hilarious chronology if true
I mean
It makes sense right?
Jensen made too much of a fuss for a delay that long
Yeah timing was highly unfortunate
Instead the did right between to keep the hype up and failed spectacularly
But again
Commitments be like that
It makes so much sense
And because of this, we had the weird driver issues
Qc problems
Poor power issues
So many things electrically speaking having big issues
Makes it seem like they actually only had a few months to work on this
Cos a lot of blackwell samples used ada arch for the pcb
Actually hard rushed launch is crazy
I mean they reaped what they sowed
They have failed in almost every aspect
And the fact they still get people buying is insane to me
But not my money, is what it is
Lol
Ye I'm hard skipping 50 series entirely too lol
I can already hardly afford 40 series lmao
Jay had a great video yesterday (he's on a bit of a roll)
He tested load balancing on a cable over 100 insertions
The results were surprising and from an engineering standpoint actually very believable
Last pic is a 2x6 running live at 600W
So much for the "12vhpwr fix"
Smh
It didn't melt though
Which was an interesting takeaway
The results are excellent though, it demonstrates a working hypothesis that form fitment tolerance for the connector spec is AWFUL
And with time it in fact GETS BETTER
Due to wear and tear working out the interference of parts
Jay is jay
Like
People won't take him seriously here
But you could really run with something like this just to prove how messed up the spec is
bruh
Some EE could turn this into an engineering report and it would be on the front desk of pci-sig's board the next day
Mechanically speaking this is a solid enough demonstration to conclusively prove this connector is fundamentally flawed
with the amount of attention it is getting, that seems likely to happen eventually
More tests need to come out like this
Proving the spec intolerance
Igor's lab has a good article on the same topic from years ago
One sec
known issue for years, and yet nothing being done about it? the heck?
Took a minute
This article is great
Thing is it's been written off for years as user error, when many repair shops and channels have been saying there's more to it
corporate scumbaggery moment?
You can track back older failures and find connectors with no contact mark showing the connector wasn't in properly
More that they just convinced the masses
It's been called out repeatedly since
But it never caught traction like now
This is the kind of thing that makes me distrust that spec to the point where idk if a fix would even get me to use it
And that's what engineers are saying
I agree with their takes too
A few have said 375W is a good enough limit
I've been saying 300W
Either way we all agree this plug has no FoS
FoS?
(Factor of Safety, standard margin in ALL engineering, without it, things destroy themselves, like so)
oh ok
Ye
FoS in engineering is typically suggested to be anywhere between
1.5x and 4x spec
Depending on the scenario
Sometimes way more
The normal 8-pin connectors have a huge safety factor lol
The suggested spec tolerance is 1.1
Ye
8 pins have a safety factor of 1.8
Which is good
Actual safety goes well over that
In fact you could argue at 375W, EPS is safer than 12vhpwr
the good old 8-pin has yet to let me down
Build EPS properly and it'll not let you down
Seems like a case of fixing something that was not broken, and breaking it in the process
Well you look at what it was for the 3090Ti and it was built to the point failure was in fact difficult to do
They had 3 planes balanced by controllers so it was unlikely to have pins pulling abnormal power as easily
So even though at the time, the spec was worse, the utility of the spec had failsafes and controls
So it wasn't as bad in practice
so load balancing?
Yes
Sadly it seems that AMD is adopting 12V2×6 with the 9070 XT
Load balancing is a very real suggestion
They already did with xtx
Did they?
any chance on AIBs using normal connectors?
I thought 7000 was 3-pins
Asrock had several cards
Plenty
Nitro+ is alleged to be 12V2×6
3.1 version
I'd rather go 3×8
Or rather pick your remedy or poison
same
Lmao
Just so much safer lmao
My PSU also is not ATX 3.x
The original 12 pin spec was fine
It was 375W
Made for replacing 3x8
That turned to 12vhpwr
660W
1.1 FoS which is disgusting
And the spec doesn't even follow itself?
You need single core 16awg to hit spec
But the spec allows more than single core which is worse
Hopefully AMD will not hard force 12vhpwr
At that gauge and voltage, multiple cores is stupid
GN pointed this out ages ago. If you can decipher the white paper for 12vhpwr it's disgusting
Unironically the IDEA behind 12vhpwr IS legit really cool
But the implementation is awful
But they need to keep up this momentum to really kill off or finally fix the dumb spec
Cos manus are being cheap
The original implementation worked
I feel like hardware market rn is absolutely shot
And it'll take time for the economy to heal
Those melted from H+ spec which is fixed
Guess I'll be keeping the 6700 XT for a while longer
It practically writes itself tbh
9800x3d is my only recent HW purchase and I feel good about it
And it ain't even like any of it was something that PCI-SIG or nGreedAI could say "Well that was totally unexpected"
Same
They've had 4 years to work this out by now
It's been long enough
All of this was entirely expected by those who know their stuff (which isn't me but I can listen to people who do)
There's nothing to defend here it's just a bad spec
They put a bandaid on it in what felt like a week of work
But without the 5090 we may have never seen this
50 series proves just how idiotproof the design is
That it's not
At all
💀
Yeah 4090 was the first messenger
50 series is just the harbinger
The narrative is shifting to bad quality cables
3rd party is a red herring
Fair enough
Some cards have melted with included cables
But then now we see it's endemic to the spec itself
The first 12vhpwr
In my 4090 box
THAT THING
The supposed cursed adapter has better QC tolerance than a freaking corsair cable
The material choices too makes it even worse
It's gonna be really interesting to see how it'll develop from here
Molex stated that different metals are not optimal in connectors
Whether they'll ever actually "fix" the spec or if it's just getting killed off
They'll keep going with it until the issue blows up in their face
People still buy the cards
Has it not already?
It has, but people are still buying the cards
Like there's already severe reputation damage
"That connector is so bad they should fix it" *buys 5080 *
So it effectively hasn't needed attention
People are nvidiapilled
Isn't 80 class still "safe enough"?
Cuz those same people are gonna buy it anyway
Melted already
OMFG
5070 Ti is "at risk"
The plot thickens
It's got enough power
This is what's crazy to me
Considering that they go for 1k+
It'll go mid at best
Potentially crap if they're not at the performance of the 4070 TiS
Leaks suggest XTX perf
Cuz it won't be reasonably priced from a consumer perspective
Nvidia's 50 cards can:
Burn the house down
Self brick from a driver install
Self fry from a driver install
Fail to work at all day 1
Have missing render pipes
Be found no where
Have an evaporated paper msrp
And yet people will still avoid AMD cos "RT not good enough"
3DMark score apparently leaked
The power of good marketing
Don't you guys have a spare house?
-Jensen
Then expect it to be 850
(not an actual quote)
Price is bound to suck
make it 1k cuz of lack of supply
I mean if the price was good
Wouldn't you think AMD would've ALREADY blared it loudly into the internet?
They could make that 9070 XT 550 and people will still swear it sucks
I'd take a loan and camp out to buy if it was 550
AMD somehow has this god awful stigma
Do not
Oh who am I kidding I wouldn't get a loan anyway lmao
Decades old drivers limitations
But yes if it's actually available for a 550 MSRP
I 100% will buy it depending on stock
If it was priced at 550 I'll automatically preach for radeon for the time being
I want to believe it will be but it won't
Let me rephrase
If it's less than a used 4080 in price
I'll get it
They have comparisons to the GRE in official slides
Which suggests a good msrp
But I really doubt it now
Huh
Yeah considering how the 50 series launch went..
Oh boy, I can't wait to see a 5050
If I can get it for ~350-400k HUF
I'll get it
There's a LOT to say they came up with something quite affordable
But I do not believe that price anymore
5050, will have 10 less ROPs than promised
Pair it up with an SFF 9800X3D build and profit for many years at 1440p
Specifically 8
Lmao
it's been 8 less ROPs
Some even have 16 missing
with the whole 50 series stack
16..
that means up to 8% loss
that's an entire tier down LOL
@sleek phoenix 9070 XT would warrant a 9800X3D for 1440p right?
7800X3D will do
Esp considering that I play a lot of PDX games which LOVE the cache
Or tuned 13700K+
It's really not any cheaper is the issue
13600K could also do it overclocked but I don't see anyone capable of that kind of voodoo magic here lmao
yes
About 80-ish
Sure it CAN go 160w on power virus
But it's around 7800X3D in games
7800 is lower if you use pbo on both
That 40 watts against a 13700K is pretty meaningful for me
Not sure about pbo off but the tdp on the 9800 is higher
Though I'd rock an LF3 in the 2000D for that build
That adds up to like 10 bucks over a year of constant gaming
Lol
So it's not a cooling question but a power draw
We have like
Almost 75 cents a kWh power costs my guy
LF3 also has case fitment issues in so many cases lol
Hi, same here
10 bucks
Lol
Really?
I've done the math
I'll take your word for it
It's not actually 10 but it's negligible
Like
You'd take more than 10 years
Easy
30?
Lmao
To pay it back
I might actually stick with the CPU that long if nothing dies (Unlikely)
IDK but I really like the LF3
Surely you've heard the saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"
It looks sexy and it performs like a champ
$100 saved from a cpu buy will be more than you'd make back from spending that extra for efficiency
What's the warranty on the LF3 again? 5 years mfg warranty?
IIRC 2000D is confirmed to fit it
Oh alr
But I will explicitly check just in case
Actually
I'll double-check
I already saw someone mount it simple on Reddit
I always second guess an LF3
Cos it's literally like one of two aios that have trouble fitting a LOT of things
Lol
And then struggles against an FX360 or thermalright
Sadly Thermalright AIOs aren't available here for some reason
Or at least I never see them in stock
What about fx360
Who makes that again?
Id cooling
That should be available
id-Cooling is fairly prevalent here
So that could work
Their fans are bad tho
I mean it'll have a much higher ceiling than an arctic tho
The LF3 is good on AMD only for noise normalised
It's not the outright best
I would like to not blast the fans admittedly
But it is a sacrifice I could make if need be
I'll look at them in like half an hour when I get home
Alr
@naive robin
It's confirmed to fit
the LF3
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Guess FX360 it is
The problem with that is I want to match the fans so they have the same RGB hue
and the AS-120 ARGBs on the FX360 Inf that I can buy are oos everywhere
technically I can just
get a replacement heatsink from Arctic for the SSD/use an SSD with a heatsink already on it/clearance it myself
I hope not
Geekbench
also the XT is 64 CU
the GRE for example is 80
XT 84, XTX 96
There is no way AMD would match the perf of 30% more CUs
the comparison to the 7800 XT is 100% fair
which also basically means I'm no longer buying the whole "40% faster than GRE" narrative
also not exactly the source I'd trust the most considering they STILL propagate the notion of a 32gb 9070 XT in spite of AMD itself ruling it out
Effectively a rehashed 7800 XT for like
At least a hundred dollars more than the actual 7800 XT feels super disappointing
This is stagnation at it's finest
Bruh don't tell me I'm born just in time for GPUs to start plateauing
I think so
Match models all you like, but you can get off colors even with fans from the same package
It's just that the mismatch is so bad on my PC rn it actually causes me physical pain
So I wanna give it the best chance for being close in colors
$750 gre is wild
It's not even a GRE tho
?
It's a rehashed 7800 XT with CU count
For 750
It's gonna be purely architecture uplift
The 9070 XT I mean
Geekbench has the 9070 XT at the GRE but Furmark has it at the XTX. The truth probably lies somewhere in between, which is what I've expected for a while.
Oh and the 9070 non XT should slightly beat the 7800 XT
wait what lmao
Id be happy with that, I just hope it's above the gre lol
$750 card that matches their last gens $550 card
That'd be something
Not like you can find a GRE at that price anymore
Lmao now this one
https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/amd-estimates-of-radeon-rx-9070-xt-performance-leaked-42-percent-66-percent-faster-than-radeon-rx-7900-gre
I see wym fal
The fact that their sales pitch is comparing to the GRE is promising
But that's implying some really heavy architecture updates
Or more likely frame gen
Frame gen is likely, no way they pulled off those numbers
FSR frame gen was supposed to be updated soon too
It’s over 3.2 GHz There’s a new leak featuring AMD’s yet unreleased Radeon RX9070 card, specifically the Gigabyte Gaming OC model. Tomasz Gawronski claims to have a screenshot showing the Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card working under Linux. If we are correct, this should be the same card that was purchased early, and the […]
The card boosts to at least 3000, some 3100 oob
So its probably ipc increases and clock speed that are carrying those fewer cores further, among other architectural improvements
Ngl 3ghz gpu is crazy
Maybe they also improved on interconnects too even though the die seems to be monolithic
Gotta wait and see what they cooked up
What about memory clock tho
From what I've seen with Radeons
Memory speed matters a lot

"We simply cannot recommend 50 series at this time" WHOA
Sponsor: Thermal Grizzly Duronaut on Amazon - https://geni.us/tpgcPMw
NVIDIA's RTX 50 series GPUs in the Blackwell family now represent the worst GPU launch we have covered in our history of GPU reviews at GN. It was briefly tied with past AMD and NVIDIA launches for the worst, but now, with the missing ROPs in addition to 12VHPWR issues, fake p...
this is gonna be a good watch
You mess up as a company when GN says such a thing

"Multi Failure Generation"
Ball is in AMD court and they are waiting to fumble the launch
This how the Radeon department is looking at how they can overprice and under deliver the 9070s
A link from NoVideo that shows all their FE cards. If only that poor soul knew about it to be able to say "it doesnt exist lol" and not waste their time
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4756/~/user-guides-for-nvidia-graphics-cards
But anyways, claiming they are lying is really, really reaching. Low level rep thought it 5070Ti FE existed at one point, realised it didnt later on (how much later on is unclear, as their use of language wasnt the nicest [thanks English]), and eventually made note of that. High level rep also thought it existed. Rather likely they only skimmed the convo and not seeing how low level rep changed their stance, most likely taking good note of the more lengthy messages that at a glance just seems like a random customer getting more angry than they should be over nothing.
I don't necessarily believe it was an intentional lie (though it could've been)
But it is indicative that nGreedAI is NOT on top of the situation whatsoever
I'm giving an unusual amount of benefit of doubt to team green here
But it is undeniable that they completely lost control of the 50 series situation and that they DID make significant screwups in the development and distribution
Are they even trying to push out better products with improvements?
Why should they? They're effectively a monopoly
its gross that they can even afford to waste so much resource on a failed launch that could easily been prevented
thats something i dont like about america, there isnt a real cap on businesses
too much industry
We are so cooked https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/s/HCUu24ZZf6
It’s on Reddit so it must be true
Hopefully they’re just higher trim cards (like the difference between Asus Prime and ROG). If that’s the case, I think it's just properly adjusted for inflation. Hopefully that's all it is
Guys new meta controller dropped
Tmr joysticks
2 extra shoulder buttons
2 back buttons
Trigger locks
And a pretty good app
Early listings are just placeholder prices
I'm thinking of getting one of their controllers, but an Xbox version (my steam controller doesn't work on Xbox)
Def wait for a bit they haven’t updated their xbox versions with any new features
What Abt this one
Pretty sure only the ones with Xbox logo, cause Xbox charges for listening or something
Yh ur right in order to use the non xbox licensed ones ur gonna need a special adapter
Gamesir has xbox licensed controllers too but they’re all wired
i hate microsoft
They upcoming g7 pro is said to get a version that works wirelessly with xbox tho
And its pretty feature rich
I mean for what I'll be using it for this seems fine
https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-3-mode-controller-xbox/
it has the back paddles, no extra shoulder buttons but realistically if I'm playing something that needs that many inputs I will play it on my PC
Designed to play cross platform. Officially licensed by Xbox. Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, Apple, and Android.
On Xbox I really only play cod zombies and party games
Yeah its a perfectly good controller then
Make sure to check out reviews tho
Cuz it might not support a wireless connection
Waaaaaait
As versatile as possible. Connect to your Xbox via wired USB, your Windows PC via 2.4G, or your Apple or Android devices via Bluetooth.
Yeah I need wireless to the xbox
Yeah its a weird thing for some reason many xbox licensed controllers dont seem to support a wireless connection to xbox specifically
That's really stupid
Indeed
I can get an official Xbox wireless for $40
But I'd love hall effect for longevity's sake (plus back paddles)
Yeah might wanna wait for the wireless xbox version of the gamesir g7 pro then
8bitdo 2C has done everything i need in a controller for me
(It was originally gonna be wired for xbox again and wireless for pc but then people got mad and they said they would release a wireless xbox version too 💀)
its got hall effect, extra trigger buttons, stupidly impressive battery life,
For $25-30 the 2C is nuts. Not Xbox compatible tho :(
He’s looking for a xbox controller to use that in a xbox he would need an adapter
works for me plugged in
ive grown up with cords so im unbothered
Yeah I need wireless too
yee ik
yeah gamesir would probs be your best bet there
og xbox controllers got some issues imo
Rn no wireless xbox gamesirs are available
Controller market is really dumb ngl
oh damn
Premium options are either too sucky or a major ripoff, good value options always have a noticeable compromise
And then when u think u finally found one that fits all ur needs
It pulls some BS like this
It may not have the best performance when in comes to latency
Circularity
And deadzones
(This is super confusing for some reason)
i know this thing exists
from what i know it works fine for xbox
if youre after the xbox style grip tho
hm
This controller tho prolly has the least compromises so far for pc
Tmr joysticks
Plenty of remappable buttons
Trigger locks
I'm fine with other shapes
And a not so crap software
Their utimate 2c doesn’t have an app
For 60 bucks its a pretty darn good deal
Gotta wait for reviews and testing tho
it comes with a charging dock?
Isn't hall effect the endgame on joysticks?
thats pretty rad ngl
Tmr are magnetic joysticks too
And they’re said to be better
Oh?
A recent tmr joystick controller came out from gamesir and it dominated
Nice
Its the cyclone 2 if u guys are interested
more precise in general
But pretty sure it has an issue with its wireless dongle on pc
And seems to have better stick latency too compared to regular hall effect
Does this let 3rd party controllers connect to Xbox? Cause Xbox console isn't on the left hand side of the diagram
ik theyre supposed to be driftless
im pretty sure only the 2c
it lets it connect to most mainstream consoles
Will this 8bitdo TMR be able to connect to an Xbox?
switch, playstation, xbox
unlikely without an adaptor
Microsoft is poopy so even if the controller has wifi/bt it won't automatically work on an Xbox
xbox has bluetooth, IF you paid for its product
you cant even use 3rd party wireless headphones with xbox
not that id recommend people use wireless headphones for games
will do :)
Will get an SHP9500 tho
with your opinions on oleds i absolutely will judge LMAO
you can get really nice ass cans for 100 to 150
Open backed could be really nice
I'd def need to have my room locked all the time
Which is something I'm trying to avoid
So if you have good closed back cans to recommend I'd look into it @willow copper
Designed for critical music and sound monitoring. The single-sided cable makes the handling of the headphone easy. The cushion system allows the DT 770 Pro to be used comfortably for long periods of time. The DT 770 Pro is a closed dynamic headphone of exceptional quality suitable for the most de...
Oh also that will almost definitely need an amp
no
lol
just choose the 32 ohm option
my phone could run that
if theyre 120-150 usd equivalent
if its europe they should generally be more accessible too, beyerdynamic makes 90% of their headphones in germany
Bro I already can't afford to buy them new
lol yeah try and find used if you can
hmm
how much is it
SHP is a really good open back for the price tbh
itll let your ears breathe lol
ive heard
Like rtings loved it
W headphones fr
impedance built for all people
I blame dankpods for starting my interest in headphones lol
Now i own a pair of sennies
I need to fix the earpad on my Sennheisers
Heaven forbid I drop them and somehow that tears the leather lining
Just buy mesh pads
They lose a smidge of sound but the comfort is hard to beat
I already have a replacement pad I just need to put on
I'd also prefer a mic setup that lets me use my Philips X2HR headphones
My X2HRs are probably my favorite headphones. I can drive them pretty easily but everybody can hear themselves on Discord 😭
Rip
My senny pc38x are what i use to yap at people
The quality on the mic itself isnt groundbreaking, but the innate sound isolation is hard to beat
I just put my own pop filter on it
And its really damn nice
I really want to get 770 pros 😭
I have a standalone condenser mic. And yes it picks up everything lol. Maybe I should get a dynamic mic just for these headphones
mmmm maybe even go with an XLR setup
Or maybe akgs even
Ive been thinking about grabbing a condenser
Only problem is my air purifier
But yeah akg has some good dynamic mic options
Shure sm57 is iconic for a reason
Sm58 is a damn good choice too
AMD Radeon RX 9070 should cost less than $700 Wouldn’t call this a leak, but a teaser for RDNA4 pricing. As we mentioned earlier, AMD has not confirmed the pricing for the Radeon RX 9070 series. The company has stated that the final price will be announced at the February 28 launch event, and there […]
a 9070 for 650 or more is going to be Godawful value
Assuming AMD is actually trying to win market share
that puts the XT to almost 800
and it lines up with my feared pricing
AMD never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity
Ah crap we dont know if he means 9070 as the series of the sku
Both are navi 48
Well the series is being announced and they say that
So the xt should be below 700
Itll make me feel less bad about paying what i did for me gre ig
At a bare mininum lol
Nope, that's the 9070 non-XT
If the XT was sub-700 I'd be shocked like nobody's business
AMD can't see past the tip of it's own nose
They're actively making obstacles for themselves to trip over even when every single star aligns for them to win
Why would they say that and then price the card above it
It's the 9070
Again
To all who are hopeful about well-priced 90 series
If AMD intended to sell the 9070 at 500 or the XT at 600
They're gonna be BLARING that fact loudly since the announcement
Yet nothing actually concrete on pricing
Frankly the 9070 series will either be the biggest positive surprise of the decade for me (in the GPU space)
Or the most disappointing "Wow I called it" moment
@sleek phoenix I swear it just gets worse https://wccftech.com/nvidia-is-suppressing-inventory-levels-for-high-end-rtx-50-series-gpus/amp/
That's exactly what they did with 40 series
I'm 0% surprised
This is how they pushed the 4090 prices above msrp
To mostly quote a comment there "Nvidia doesn't give a stuff about the market, they control basically all of it lol"
Brought to you by US. Use code "ABOUTFKNTIME" for 10% off anything on the GN store while the code is active! https://store.gamersnexus.net/
We've been covering NVIDIA's screw-ups all week, and now it's time to talk through some opinions and some facts about AMD's situation. This video is us talking about AMD's Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT prici...
they already did
GN should've released this video when 90 series was announced
every die is already set
So... how are people supposed to update the vbios if the gpu isn't detected by system bios
Skill issue -Nvidia
@sleek phoenix was this that fix you needed for your 9800x3d?
idk why it didnt embed but whatever
Yeah waiting for some more details first
Came at a good time my desk has been a workshop the last couple weeks lmao
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT might cost $599 AMD surprises with pricing. The Radeon RX 9070 XT series will cost 4999 RMB, and RX 9070 cards will retail at 4499 RMB. These are the official prices of Radeon RX 9070 cards in China. The cards were officially presented during a special event for distributors and […]
Official msrp is 599
And 549
That 9070 price is a bit blegh I think compared to the XT but I haven't seen proper 9070 perf yet
XT price is excellent though
9070 could drop in price like we saw with 7900 XT
I'm thinking that too
XTX was a no brainer when they were both 899/999
Or XT goes up due to demand
Those two prices look good
probably this honestly lmao
Lol
Wait and see
I will probably preorder one
An XT
I'm thinking a gigabyte tbh
The 3x8 is attractive
But I might do like pulse
yeah anything to avoid the 12pin lol
i wonder if they will ever release the AMD reference cards
seems so weird for all their marketing to use them and then just not sell
maybe they will do a limited run or a giveaway with them idk
You should analyse those reference pics
they exist right?
I believe I saw an article saying amd isn't making ref cards
Even if they don't manufacturer reference cards it makes sense to have some sort of imagery for them, they don't wanna use an aib card
I believe it was a concept
But that AMD never intended to actually build reference designs
maybe 9070 vs XT?
But I'm very sure if you look at some of these you see inconsistencies
Maybe
There was a pic a while back where I saw like AI flaws in one of them
The heatsink pattern became like dynamic instead of geometrically aligned
Hence me thinking ai
Who knows
i wouldnt put it past it with the way stuff is going
Yeah they just used that to show the next generation of graphics cards
they look clearer in the china press release ngl
honestly I hope they are real they do look pretty cool
"AMD has presented two reference cards, with the dual-fan model being the non-XT version"
does that mean they physically presented them
But then says they arent going on sale
So yeah they are just using those renders to give something visual to the name
PowerColor RX 9070 XT Hellhound in white As we reported, there are two white RDNA4 models coming. The Hellhound GPU design from PowerColor was presented at CES 2025. The card is confirmed to be a mid-range solution, coming alongside budget-oriented Reaper cards (dual-slot) and Red Devil (three-slot). What all of these cards have in common, […]

AMD FSR4 incoming, only for RDNA4 cards AMD is just about to announce the Radeon RX 9070 series, and one of the questions, besides the new cards’ price, is also FSR4 support. We have some information that you may find interesting. First of all, FSR4 support will depend on whether the game already has FSR […]
might just be dummy shrouds
how are there only 2 pictures from the china event
that reference card has to exist
i am in denial rn
Correct
GALAX HOF LC LAB on GB202 GPU GALAX already announced its HOF (Hall of Fame) Series but the RTX 5090 card was not included until now. The high-end overclocking design known as HOF, GALAX’s most enthusiast-oriented series, will soon be available with the GB202 GPU. The card is seemingly based on the RTX 5090 SKU […]

white pcb is cool lookin
600 over msrp at least
Let's explore it together!

unless she is tiny that 9070 XT is huge lol
I'm so pissed off about the HOF
Look closer
2nd 12vhpwr REMOVED
WHO TF

THAT WOULD'VE MADE IT THE BEST 50 CARD
THEY'VE ALWAYS HAD 2
There will be some chungus 9070 xts, there have been big ones shown earlier this year and in listings
Like the sapphire for example that thing was huge
its insane that my 6950 XT is starting to look small
Oh you right
Next gen the gpu is the case man
We nearly there
Insert itx mobo and cpu inside gpu
gpu becomes the desk
