Hello, I'd like to know which champion to play in the top lane. I prefer tanky champions with high health, most of the time (Sett is my main at the moment). I tend to dive into the fray. I'd like to have a second choice in case Sett gets banned.

Renekton isn't a great suggestion. He's a skirmishing bruiser and you'll probably die a whole lot. It sounds like you're interested in a warden tank or an engage tank. Something that can absorb a ton of damage but encourages team fights and jumps right in. I suggest you try Shen and Malphite. Similar principle but approach it differently. Neither are difficult to play but reward map awareness and team fight engages.

Shen is like playing a tank support in baron lane, sort of. He's a tank with a bit of mobility (3rd) and a global ult similar to Galio. Except when you're charging your ult, you're putting a fat shield on someone during the charge time instead of dropping in doing AOE damage.

No no, you play him baron lane. He has a global shield so he's all about supporting 'the map' in a macro sense. He rewards macro decsion making and map awareness.

He deals some single target damage but his wave clear is pretty slow.

He isn't about 1v1 lane skirmishing. He has a more relaxed early game, you're goal is mostly to just not die and if you can impede your opponent then great. As soon as you hit level 5, you're watching the map like a hawk whenever your ult is up to see if you can make an impact somewhere

Just play aggro early with blade positioning

Then after lvl5 try to make plays around the map but dont give too much

For example if u got 3 stacked waves dont r

When u do so your empowered aa deal more dmg

And slow

Most people dont expect you to deal that much dmg so they'll lose the trade

From that point on just try to deny them as much xp and gold as possible

Until they are forced to recall

Goredrinker helps with waveclear and if you don’t need stridebreaker it helps with fights

But I rarely build it

Unless I’m fighting an easy matchup like malphite or smth
