If you wana keep farming and not require braincells you can always pick yi
Or if you actually wana use your brain lillia is also a good powerfarming jungler
the only reason why i pick vieg is bcs idk how to counter enemy champs and vieg is my go to champs thats why i always pick him
for yi ppl says that hes a situational chmps so i rarely pick him
He kinda is but if your not sov its fine
Besides hes busted af rn with rageblade
so whats the build n rune
Depends on your play style.
Depends on your gameplay/style
Most jgs has special treats such heca/lee having early gank and snowball damage in early game as these types of champs is relay to ganks but less DPS
Amumu/rammus/Lilia can be also be in this category I could scale amumu/nunu high but their cc is not like ls/heca damage in early game yes do had the ccs
As these champs I mentioned are for aggressive such us me
Since you play voli you obviously will be Infront line
don't pick yi vro
the champ isn't easy to handle
if you want safe choices
pick xin - shyvana - vi
As a jungler:
1 / Focus on your gold. You should always try to create a gold gap over the enemy team if possible; you’ll have more freedom in the game afterward.
2 / Mute all if you don’t want to be disturbed by allies during the laning phase. You can unmute them later. Sometimes they are good players who can give useful pings, but in most cases it’s just because they’re getting destroyed in lane. So, not relevant.
3 / Only gank if it brings you something. Don’t gank just to gank, it’s useless.
You risk revealing your position to the enemies = the enemy jungler can steal your camps on the opposite side of the map, destroy the laner on the other side of the map or mid.
You lose time; time is money.
4 / Look a bit everywhere on the map while you’re farming. You’ll be able to make good decisions based on that, establish where you are going, will it waste your time ? ( time is money )
5 / Get ready to choose between dragon or Rift Herald a few seconds before they spawn. You’ll need to position yourself properly and see if your allies will be able to help you. If you think you’re not going to win the fight, go take the other objective or go back to farming.
6 / And because time is money, always find the best way to optimize your jungle pathing ( you should only have 1 camp left when the scuttle spawns at 1:30 usually ) example of basic pathing : Krugs -> Red -> Birds -> Wolves -> Blue -> Scuttle ( or gromp, if you the scuttle has already been done ), Gank or Recall, If you recalled -> try to see if the other scuttle has not been done yet ( you may already know it by predicting where the enemy jungler is ) When you are about to finish a camp, be ready to move to the next one, if you can’t picture what I am saying, watch how a « pro » cleans his jungle, you will see him hit and run.
7 / You are free to do anything, don’t strictly apply some ideas, sometimes, it depends on the situation. You are not expected to know everything, just play and learn, but mainly have fun.
common knowledge:
Ward the camp opposite to where you start the game. You can use a control ward like most people or use a simple ward that laners won’t be able to deward.
Use the sweeper (the red thing that spins) before going through a bush or from the river (people sometimes place wards very far from their lane) when you're ganking a lane.
If you have a spell that can burst in your kit, use it together with Smite to increase the chances of securing the objective.
Ocean dragon is trash tier, you’re not forced to do it.
Try to track enemy camps, so you can take them or know where the enemy jungler is.
In terms of invading, if you can invade, do it; otherwise don’t risk dying stupidly. Generally, taking 2 enemy camps is worth it.
You can help your laner hit towers after a gank when you don’t have camps on the opposite side of the map; otherwise they might steal them. Also watch your HP, if the enemy jungler comes and kills you, that would be bad.
You can kinda predict when the enemy jgler will be ganking, by looking at where your teammates are ( if they are close to the enemy's tower, low hp etc.. blabla )
and if the enemy jgler is nearby ( jungle tracking )
some basic stuff
as someone that has never tried jungle, but would like to some time. This info was amazing. Thank you
Thank you very much !!
I got an updated version ( basically the same but with a little bit more of some ideas
As a Jungler
Core Mindset
1 / Focus on your gold. You should always try to create a gold gap over the enemy team if possible. You will have more freedom in the game afterward.
2 / You are free to do anything, do not follow ideas too strictly. It always depends on the situation. You are not expected to know everything, just play, learn, and most importantly have fun.
You have a brain, do not follow strict patterns. Analyze the situation and make quick decisions. Things will not always go as expected because your teammates are random. You can try to predict how they will play, and the same goes for your enemies.
Some games are winnable. If you really want to win, you can sometimes turn the game around even if you are far behind. Try. It will be exhausting, but the victory will feel much sweeter, and you may even get addicted to carrying losing games.
Some games are lost because of mistakes, from your allies, your enemies, or yourself. Be patient. Do not be harsh on your teammates, they will not play better if you flame them.
Communication & Focus
3 / Mute all if you do not want to be disturbed by your allies during the laning phase. You can unmute them later. Sometimes they are good players who give useful pings, but in most cases it is just because they are losing their lane, so it is not relevant.
It is better to unmute them in the late game so you can understand when they want to go for Baron, catches, and other plays. It becomes more useful to know what your allies are thinking once they are focused on winning the game rather than just their lane.
Time Management & Efficiency
4 / Only gank if it brings you a tangible benefit. Do not gank "just to gank"; it is useless most of the time. However, a gank can be valuable even without a kill if it:
Relieves pressure for a struggling teammate.
Forces the enemy laner to step back, allowing your ally to farm safely if they are behind.
The Risks:
Exposure: You reveal your position, allowing the enemy jungler to steal your opposite-side camps or pressure another lane.
Opportunity Cost: You lose time, and time is money. Ensure the trade-off is worth the gold and XP you are sacrificing.
It may not be worth to sacrifice yourself for a random laner.
5 / Look around the map while farming. This helps you make better decisions, plan your next move, and evaluate whether something is worth your time.
6 / Because time is money, always optimize your jungle pathing. You should ideally have only one camp left when the scuttle spawns at 1:30.
Example of a basic pathing:
Krugs → Red → Raptors → Wolves → Blue → Scuttle (or Gromp if Scuttle is already taken), then gank or recall.
If you recall, check if the other Scuttle is still available. You can often predict this based on the enemy jungler’s position.
When you are about to finish a camp, already think about moving to the next one. If you cannot picture it, watch how a pro clears the jungle, they constantly hit and move.
Objectives Control
7 / Prepare in advance for Dragon or Rift Herald before they spawn. Position yourself properly and check if your teammates can help.
If you think you will lose the fight, go for the other objective or continue farming.
Invading & Resource Denial
8 / After a successful gank, if you suspect the enemy still has camps nearby, you can try to take them to deny their farm or help your teammate take turret plates, but only if you are sure you will not die.
Be careful if you still have camps on the opposite side of the map, as the enemy jungler may take them since you revealed your position by ganking.
Jungle Tracking & Decision Making
9 / Get inside the enemy jungler’s head. Constantly ask yourself: "Where is he, and what is his next move?" By predicting his pathing, you transition from reactive to proactive play.
Execute the "Cross-Map Trade": If the enemy jungler shows himself on the opposite side of the map (e.g., ganking Top while you are Bottom), don't just watch. Punish him by invading his jungle to steal camps, securing a neutral objective, or forcing a dive on the opposite lane.
Anticipate Vulnerabilities: Predict ganks by looking at your teammates through the enemy's eyes. If an ally is low on HP or overextended, they are a magnet for the jungler. Use this logic to stay one step ahead.
Counter-Gank or Communicate: Once you pinpoint his location, take decisive action. If your teammate is in danger, ping them back immediately. Alternatively, if you are nearby, hide and prepare a counter-gank to turn the tide of the fight.
Common Knowledge & Practical Tips
- Ward the camp opposite to where you start. You can use a control ward or a normal ward ( yellow ) that is harder to detect, and the enemy laner won’t be able to gain the small amount of gold and xp from your pink ward ( red one )
- Use the sweeper (the red thing that spins) before going through bushes or from the river when ganking, as wards are often placed far from lanes. It will disable the enemy’s ward so you will not appear on their minimap. Be careful though, if they are paying attention, they may notice the ward being disabled and fall back. Most of the time, they are busy farming or focusing on their opponent. Do not destroy the ward immediately, go for the gank first. If the enemy backs off, then you can destroy the ward.
- If your champion has burst damage, combine it with Smite to secure objectives more reliably.
- Ocean Dragon is low priority. You are not forced to take it, and if the soul is denied, a dragon is optional.
- Track enemy camps to know where the enemy jungler is or to take their resources.
- When invading, only do it if it is safe. Taking two enemy camps is generally worth it.
Mainly keep in mind :
- Efficiency: Never waste time. Every second must result in either Gold or Gold.
- Punishment: If the enemy jungler makes a move, you must take something back elsewhere if possible. The game is a constant trade; never let them act for free.
- Anticipation: Don't just watch what is happening, predict what will happen. Constantly check lane states (HP and positioning) and track the enemy jungler by checking which of his camps are up or cleared.
Note: Also, just chill. You will make mistakes, and sometimes you will be tilted. Things aren't written in stone; what I’ve said is just a preview of what happens inside a "good" jungler's mind. These are just words.
I am not an insane jungler either. I make tons of mistakes that cost games, mostly because I like having fun with the enemies and end up giving them 1,000 gold for free.
I also get tilted and lose the will to tryhard, It happens.
Feel free to question me.
