A confession from a AP rakan player

I play AP Rakan supp. Most supp would pair with adc as duo, but I prefer my duo to be jg or mid because my early game is weak, and my focus isn’t on protecting my adc, more like to kill enemy carries.

So, usually, my adc hates me because I will take their farm if they aren’t good enough, and the same applies to other roles, of course. I know my play style is selfish and all that, but I can carry most of the game with it.

Anyways, I’m not sure if I’m doing the right thing or not because I do get yelled a lot because my play style is more of focusing on myself instead of being a team player. So I need a second opinion about my play style.

So as fellow rakan enjoyer (but mostly healkan) i can say is ap rakan is late game nuke if you see that you can carry taking resources is fair but dont take them from teammates that perform decent you are not 1v9 champ you can win fights easy but you cannot win game alone

Yeah, I usually doing grab from late game champ like vlad or ori, but sometimes when I see a 0/7/2 Vic…? Yeah, I’m definitely taking his lol

Nah dont touch late game champs i would take it from 0/7 adc or tank or just go to wave where is no one, i usually take when i need 200g i just ping item and take fuck them if they ping me

I can pretty much one shot adc who doesn’t build MR after LB

But if I’m ahead i can do it before that

I would go for nuke more heavy, with ludens malignance but its situational ngl this is my "support ap" that i usually go for

But that’s just me, it also hurts when I’m sitting back and wait

Imo getting 8s cdr reduction on ult and almost 1s on every skill is better than 50ap late

The problem is once u used ur boot enchantment and flash… its hard to cc enemy back line who is cautious enough for ur second round

Cuz I used to build LB first item and crown third, but it’s less forgiving when I mess up or someone caught me when I engage

Lb is not as good as ludens in dmg, crown is good i would say its must have i can see why you go for arm pen first but we are not in pc so you just delay your first item spike hard

Its basically pc item that deals mag dmg after you deal 35% of hp in 2s its a lot and basically a double nuke its fun

I don’t really play ap rakan so I don’t have much to say, my build has always been utility focused for peel since my playstyle involves more of running around in teamfights and being a bit hard to kill

I just get oneshot as ap rakan and I’m not as good at seeing pick angles like an assassin

I do play ap sometimes tho and when I do I usually take items like soulstealer malignance and infinity orb

In all honesty I don’t think anyone should care if your playstyle is selfish considering you’re good enough to carry a lot of your games

It’s not like you’re stealing resources and be completely useless at the same time

Your adc will hate you if you aren't willing to give everything to them just because their an adc

What do you think about ap rakan on mid

I tried it one time

Suffer in lane if they know what they r doing, plus have no lane control when ur jg needs help unless u r playing against a early game weak champ like Kat. Ur jg is gonna ping u for not coming to help and u r pretty much doomed when u burnt ur flash

I think mid is doable if u have a jg duo since rakan's utility and burst makes for great gank potential but it's still not optimal
