I disagree with that. You can climb with any role as long as you have good knowledge of the game,what to pick vs enemy team and how to play according to tempo. I main adc and i pretty much only soloq and i climb consistently, atm 3 games away of gm

I highly advise tho to play adcs that dont rely heavily on support. For example i play Caitlyn and Ezreal when unsure if my supp is any good. I wouldnt pick Vayne for example that needs very good synergy with supp to be effective

And all challenger adc mains I know play duo q with a support

It's exactly not impossible to reach challenger solo q adc but it's 20x harder
