Hello. Question, how exactly does one build enhanters? I've found myself to like using champs like Sona, Janna, Lulu, etc and I've been having some success with it and reaching peak Master 2 but I'm at a point where I think I need to actually think about building items based on matchups instead of just using the standard build or copying the top 3 which from what I've heard is not really ideal.

Tldr, what exactly is their core builds and how does one adjust said build? Or should I just stick with more or less the same items every time.

The standard build for enchanters are usually harmonic echo ardent censor and imperial mandate. Those 3 core items are very common because most enchanters have some form of shielding or healing to help the adc stay alive.

You usually build harmonic echo first on most of the time unless your adc is a hypercarry (the ones that ultilize attack speed really well) like Jinx, Vayne, or Kaisa, etc, then you swap to rush ardent censor instead

You can also build Seraph’s Embrace to gain more value for yourself because it gives bonus mana and a shield when you are being attacked and got to low health.

Below image is a standard build I see alot of enchanters go, not just sona

I’ll be referring to items as numbers i labeled.

Most enchanters I know go number 1 first, number 3 second into number 2.

Again If you are with a hypercarry, go number 3 first then number one.

Always rush the purple boot, which is also referred to as mana boots by alot of players. As for runes, it’s pretty standard based on your preference and playstyle. Usually supports go this setup to avoid being bursted out while providing value to their adc.

I hope this basic overview helps!
