Hi all,

Mac used: Mid-2012 MBP
Model Identifier: MacBookPro10,1
Version of MacOS: Ventura 13.3.1
Method used to install: OCPL

Issue:

When attempting to use the following:

  • Zoom
  • Google meet via any browser (Chrome, Firefox & Safari especially)
  • Other non-Apple apps which require use of either the camera or microphone

I run into the following issues:

  • When the app attempts to use the camera, the green light next to the camera flashes up briefly and then goes out. It then instructs me that I need to allow Zoom access to my camera and microphone. See attachment 1.
  • After going to Privacy & Security in System Settings, I find that there is no option - or in fact anything at all - in either the camera or microphone sections. See attachement 2.
  • I have attempted this fix numerous times - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253690030 - without success.
  • I have also attempted a PRAM reset without success.

HOWEVER

The camera and microphone work completely fine in Apple facetime and other Apple apps or features which require access to the camera and microphone.

Does anybody else have any ideas what is going on here and what I could could do to fix it please? Thanks in advance!

Solved:

  1. Follow this - https://superuser.com/questions/1779925/macos-ventura-cant-give-permissions-opencore
  2. Download tccplus
  3. Follow the codesign step if needed. I didn't for Zoom.
  4. Run the tccplus [identifer] step and use us.zoom.xos as the identifer.

Please mark this as solved if possible.

The bundle id for Google Chrome isn't the app path

Try com.google.Chrome instead
