My first Mac I’ve ever owned. I’m 33 and have used almost entirely macs all throughout school growing up even back in 2nd grade on “Macintosh’s” lol. I loved them. Never had any tho. I recently bartered and purchase one second, maybe third hand, online locally and was happy seeing the condition she was in too when I got it. Early 2009 MacPro 4,1 upgraded to a 5,1. I suppose via flash be a Im completely ignorant to so much of this still but was still able to figure my way around open core usb eventually. I’m just posting here to share. Grats man and welcome to the club, with the 4/5.1 I recommend swapping out one of the hdd for a 2.5 ssd (you can go pcie ssd but lil more expensive) for cost and performance, and get the BCM94360CD card to upgrade to bt 4.2.

Thank you I’m gonna look into this. I’ve recently ran into A little bit of trouble and am having to figure out building s a new usb because mine became I guess updated by open core by mistake instead of hard disk and it stopped working next boot. And I purchased mine. Never built one yet

I just got the mac back up and working again but I ran into a space issue so I bought a 4tb ssd and am having an issue with switching to the ssd once installed on the larger capacity device then swapping to said device and I get nothing. It’ll either not appear or say I need to initialize said drive I just installed once I place it internally. What do?
