Hi, I have an early 2008 macbook with version 10.6.3. Many apps and websites are incompatible with this version. How can I upgrade to a newer version? I'm ok with risk, since this is a secondary computer with nothing important on it. I mostly use a Windows 11 PC.

Download an OS X 10.7 lion installer, put it on a flash drive, boot into the USB, select your drive without wiping it, then let it upgrade.

#

You can then use Chromium Legacy to run a modern web browser

You can install Windows (Vista/7/whatever) via Bootcamp

@sage gull I have 10.5. Do I need to go to 10.6 first?

No

Can you give me a link to 10.7 installer?

I can't give you a direct link due to legal issues, since apple sold OS X Lion.

OK. I found it but it's an iso requiring a DVD. @sage gull

My 2006 MacBook send it’s better days. It’s been running Ubuntu for a while, but just recently the keyboard went out.
