@near lily go into settings, run a test on the Internet connection, and check the NAT type. The animal crossing servers are really picky about Nat type and connection method. If you've got a Nat type other than A or B, or have a mobile Internet connection, that might be the issue.

@near lily might be the internet provider then. Some carriers put you on a mobile connection whether you're using a hotspot or not. AT & T and T Mobile, for example.

Also, if you happen to live in a dorm or share the Wi fi or live in a crowded area. That could also be a factor.
