But if you do time, travel, don’t travel more than 3 to 4 days front and back

but avoid ingame daily events like able sisters and redd tulips so on

I do it a couple times a week where I’ll skip to the next day so i can get more things done in my game time. I don’t go backwards when I’m done though lol

In the end flimsy tools are the way, cheap, help you to get achievements when breaking or crafting more. The upgraded and gold tools are just fancy. Of course more useful in specific mystery islands since they're more durable and some mystery islands does not have renewable resources.
