Does a specific screen pop up? Is it stuck in a loading loop? Perhaps a blank screen?

i heard corruption happens when something inturrupts a loading/save thing. when that happens a file goes missing i think so you cant use the whole game

I pressed onto the game and it said on the screen on a pop up that data corruption was found so took me to a screen to run diagnostics to see the problem

Interesting. Well, as long as you have automatic backups for your island enabled, it should never be a permanent detriment. True corruption can be corrected by contacting Nintendo for a backup of your island if anything bad happens, but if the issue can be fixed with a quick re-download, then things are.. decent.
