I like taking it day by day or my other friend taking the time, because they've been doing time travel. They always do it so it's a bit easier. We put both our bells into it then I buy the turnips then sell them, rinse and repeat.

@fresh citrus You could take a tour with Kapp'n or use a Nook Miles Ticket to go to an island that has rocks. Occasionally you can shoot down balloons which will contain iron ore, but it's not ideal because balloons can contain so many other things.
