hi, i wanted to know if someone here has ever played animal crossing lets go to the city, ypu know the one for the wii, i dont know if it has another name. The thing is that one day i got a new hairstyle that i never had before with Harriet, and in the same day i tried to get it again with the rest of the villagers and i still got it, no matter what i chose on the convertation with Harriet. But then i couldnt get it anymore, i tried all the possible options and if you look in the internet there isnt the possibility of getting this new hairstyle, it was two braids. My favorite is AC WW and the original. I love the ambient themes of WW and how the soundtrack accompanies game play. I found NL music very different from the other soundtracks and don’t enjoy the instrumentation as much. The NH soundtrack is like the music at malls that gets you to try to buy or be active and it kinda bugs me. Except 5-7 pm

IIRC Ive had some instances where villagers have been in boxes for 2 days, but not 3

I've got one:
If you're thinking about getting bamboo in your town (Somewhere in the future), Be prepared to prevent it from growing out of control (I would know. It happened to me). Dig up any bamboo shoots you find (If you want more keep them) If they're left in the ground they'll start to grow if you find to much bamboo growing. Make sure you have an axe (Get quite a few axes) so if any unwanted bamboo grows you can cut it down and dig up with a shovel.

You start with one fruit, and you get more by writing letters to villagers. And coco nuts are found on the ground by the beach. Flowers are sold at nooks and you need to place them near the same species to get hybrids, and they can wilt and die. So you need fo check in to make sure you keep them watered and healthy

You can get all the fruits but you need to be diligent about sending letters with a small item like sea shells or native fruit

It’s a slower paced game than ACNH and is much more like Wild World than any other game. That being said I think it’s one of the best due to it’s balance of older and newer mechanics

Like the observatory and city are very fun. You get pro designs and lots of storage space despite the limited custom design slots.

Town layout, like where your bridges will go are pre set, also where villager house plots are sometimes ruin the flow of my pathing. Also the gates to the town come in 3 different styles iirc. I got a castle style. Then just house placement.

Basically the grass only regrows when you log in. So if you log in, don’t run anywhere, close the game after saving and then change the system date, you can get the grass to grow quickly

I think they strike a perfect balance, they’re sensitive and will get angry or sad much more often than in ACNH but not insulting calling you “fatty” and such in as in Ac GCN. I think it’s some of the best dialogue because of that

Ooh also villagers have comparability that’s more complex. If I recall correctly they also have species affinities in ACCF

It is kinda tough to keep the town perfect but it gives you reason to check in. I have nothing pressing on ACNH so I rarely check in

@pastel crow ACCF grass management "expert" chiming in
If you want to heal a particular area or tile's grass, plant flowers on the tiles you want to heal, then water them; this makes it go a lot faster
The grass is fragile in the middle of winter and hardy when its summertime; you might find that you can make an area go from grassy to a fully bare path in a few weeks in the winter, while you can walk all over the place in july with little concern for grass health
The amount of grass deterioration doesnt affect perfect town status afaik, and expanding on what arbutus said, getting perfect town status is much easier than in NH while maintaining it is slightly harder

And some other tips:
Like arbutus said, its sort of the "bridge" game between the classic vibes of GC and WW, and the modern feel of NL and NH
While bridge layout isnt very important since you can donate money in the town hall for more bridges (as well as other goodies), pay attention to where your ramps are located; having badly placed ramps can make travel across the town or to secluded areas inconvenient (also, as I mentioned above, you can get a town with a river island if youre patient; having one increases your total bridge count by 1)
You can still play online via the unofficial wiimmfi servers, which dont even require modding to access (I personally prefer the internet channel method you can find on youtube)

Ive noticed that long-time fans who bought wild world at or soon after its launch tend to dislike it, people who got city folk as their first game tend to like it, and the opinion of those afterwards is either mixed or they dont know it exists

Sometimes its considered the black sheep of the mainline games

But personally, I love it for its unique quality of feeling both modern and classic, and my playtime in city folk is probably more than that for both NL and NH combined

I think that if you havent played it yet, now is the perfect time to revisit it while we wait for the next game, since its lifespan for the average player without time traveling is about two years

As of 2019 I had almost 1000 hours, and Ive played a lot more since then, thanks to setting long-term goals for myself and starting a new character every once in a while

Yep! Bought it around 2010 when it wasnt overpriced as a collectors item and still play it

Its never been rereleased as a virtual console game or anything like that, so you do need the original disc
You dont need a gamecube though; if you have an early model wii you can play it on that

Also have DnMe+, Im planning on dumping it [for personal use only] so I can emulate it with the english patch, whenever that gets finished

If you mean like placing furniture items, no you can not do that in New Leaf. Instead, you're limited to exclusive furniture items called Public Works Projects. These can be like Street Lamps, benches and other types. But you can put paths just like New Horizon.

The only downside is you're very limited on how many you can put on your town.

I believe your villagers would tell you their about their siblings/skill/goal when you talked to them around the day or something and then on April Fool's Blanca would dress up as your villagers, and you'd have to use this information to figure out which one is the real villager! So for example if Blanca became Whitney she could say that she's the youngest of 6 kids, but then Whitney would be like no I'm the oldest of 6 kids, and you'd have to choose the real one based on that

Wild World also had a exclusive event called Flower Fest. During the event, your villagers would make their garden by planting flowers around their house. It could also be that happening at the time. But yeah. Villagers in WW will plant flowers normally by their house.

I’m half shitposting but in general, AC’s sound director Kazumi Totaka is really damn good at composing (or getting whoever he’s working with to compose) stuff to fit a specific vibe; in NL’s case you’re the mayor so there’s a more elegant and more orchestral feel to things (although it’s more of a chamber orchestra), whereas NH’s music relies on acoustic instruments to accompany the “easygoing” and “free” setting of the deserted island and evoking wide open spaces, as well as the fact it’s pretty easy to play linking well to the DIY aspect of the game. Treating the AC soundtracks as interchangeable ultimately undercuts that a lot of thought’s gone into them, imo

To earn bells the easiest legit way is to go to the island and hunt rare bugs and sharks

To pay off the loans: go talk to Nook as soon as the house has been built/upgraded and he’ll tell you to use the ABD to pay off your loan. Go to the ABD in the post office and withdraw bells, then choose the pay back loan option and pay off the amount. Go talk to Nook again

That's probably my biggest complaint about New Horizons. New Leaf felt like a love letter to the entire series, like someone who genuinely loved the franchise got to make a game of their own or something. But New Horizons feels...I don't know, incomplete? It definitely got better with the 2.0 update, but I can't help but feel that something is missing that wasn't missing in the other games. I don't know.

No I 100% agree! It's actually something I struggle with articulating when I complain about the game because New Horizons DOES have a lot of things to do, items, new features, etc compared to the older games, but despite all of that it still feels...lacking to me? Maybe it's the WAY features are implemented and not the features themselves that bother me? Like having Kapp'n come back was great, but I don't feel like his return is as exciting because he basically does what the dodos do. And it's just little things like that, I think.
