Man it would be cool if they expanded the dialogue with classes or hobbies and stuff

Like the snooty villagers could have a sub-personality, like they’re a rude snooty villager who has exclusive, passive-aggressive dialogue, or a gentle snooty villager who’s more kindly and like an old aunt
Or Lazy villagers could be either childish, acting like they’re way too young to own a home (but live in your town anyway lol) or just laid-back, like they’re just chill guys

Maybe the sub-personalities can share lines and aspects of the main personality, but it also means you can have multiple of the same personality without them feeling too similar

And with hobbies, maybe they yap about certain stuff like fish or fossils
Villagers who are into fashion are more likely to gift clothing, or fishing villagers are more likely to buy fish from your inventory with a higher price

It wouldn’t even take as much work as like, making entirely new personality types lol
I doubt the development team would be keen about having so many

Hi everyone, i wanna start a new save in New leaf (because i dont have money for a switch 2 yet and after i accidentally deleted my whole save data on my 3ds from 10 yrs ago lol) and wanted to ask for some tips for early on in the game

Donate all first catches to the museum

Hope that nook shop has a shovel so you can get your bell rock collection in, once you unlock the island and capt’n go to the island, costs 1k bells but you can make around 200K bells on average on each trip

Also go on the tours, you can steal fruit from those tours to then plant in your village

Speaking of fruit: in New Leaf, each fruit tree in the town has a small chance of spawning a ‘perfect fruit’, which looks different to ordinary fruit. A perfect peach, for example, is a gold colour instead of pink, and you can sell it for more Bells than an ordinary peach.

However, if you do find a perfect fruit, do not make the mistake of selling it straight away! Instead, use the shovel to plant it. It will grow into a tree which spawns only perfect fruit. Planting a bunch of these and shaking them regularly is a great way to make more Bells.

After becoming the mayor and having more customisation options for my character and town, I never could get back into Wild World due to how limited it felt in comparison. Nowadays I play New Horizons, and while I do love the sheer scale of freedom in customisation, I have actually been missing Wild World recently, simply because of how much more interesting it was to converse with villagers and build up friendships with them

That’s very true. I really enjoy New Horizons, but the dialogue feels very limited in comparison to the past games and far less interactive. I remember that talking to villagers in WW felt more like having an actual conversation than it does in NH, since the game would often give the player sliders and options to respond to what the villagers were saying and you would get different responses from the villagers based on how you answered. Whereas in NH, talking to villagers is less actually having a conversation with them and more just one or two brief dialogue boxes of generic pleasantries

Tbf the dailogue in GC feels kinda limited too. I got instances where two lazies, Hugh and grandpa Sherb Sven forgot my names when I talk to them. I also got a few peppies and they always get aggresive dialogue like "DON'T COME NEAR ME" similar to crankies' dialogue. Even the NPC dialogue feels pretty limited.

Yup villagers will randomly decide to move in at random, you can control this with amiibo and the lamp item to summon wisp to use amiibo on to call them to your town

You could also just ask for an item from them if you need to farm meow coupons

Public works projects, trees, flowers, and shrubs is all you get.

Make it count, especially the roost and police station. Those are permanent.

There are ways to cheat the villager house placement system using paths but you do need to check the guides to see which areas do or don’t qualify.

One thing to note about shrubs, make sure you placed them in a spot that they will grow, and make sure you like the spot that you put them, there is no way after placing them to move them, doing so will delete the shrub. Picking up shrubs in new leaf isnt a thing

Instead you build public works projects. Trees and flowers are still a thing. There's a paths mechanic with custom designs but with wifi for the 3ds shutdown unless you have your own skills at making paths- i never bothered with paths tbh

Sit in the mayor chair in the uh. Residents services to start the process. And follow her advice for living there.

A villager who has decided to move will just pack their stuff in boxes without asking, but you can usually talk them into staying if you catch them in time. Otherwise, they just leave and send you a goodbye letter

New leaf has its shops established already, there are 4 upgrades to nook junction, you can make projects as the mayor and build structures or new buildings some of which are unlocked through the npcs, there is a second shop called re-tail which is for turnip selling and just selling stuff in general, and has later hours, dont sell stuff at junction they buy for less. The final upgrade to junction is the largest shop in the entire franchise. The players house is the most expensive in any of the series when adding up all the house upgrades. It has tortimers island that you can catch out of season fish and sharks at and get very rich catching beetles at night. Also it has mini games you do to earn medals to buy stuff at the shop there, its where you get the silver axe, oh and a major difference, tools dont have durability, the only thing that can break is the axe and silver axe, the golden axe is infinite

Btw if you dont have any foreign fruit, send some native fruit to your villagers in a letter, sometimes they will send back a fruit you dont have

i’ve been playing wild world recently, it was the game i played the most of as a kid (i played the GC game a lot from like 5-8) and damn it’s still good in a lot of ways but like. there’s only a few things to do a day. and i’m pretty sure there’s a bunch of stuff i didn’t know about as a kid that i just never did, so no wonder i would time travel constantly 😭 god i miss the emphasis on sending letters, and how much villagers talk about each other. i have lily in my town and im 90% sure she has a crush on walker and she’s jealous of portia being around him

And yeah rain makes them stop from wilting but wont shine, the shine only comes from you watering if you want them to breed

If you never played the older games flowers are not indestructible like they are in new horizons, if you dont water them daily they can and will wilt, after wilting there is nothing you can do but pluck them to get rid of them, but it is how you get golden roses tho, you water wilted black roses with a golden watering can to turn it into a golden rose

Having the beautiful town ordinance will stop flower wilting tho, most people just leave that one on in new leaf
