Another idea is turning one of those rooms into the interior of a subway train. I came across this train station build on YouTube and they incorporated a pipe in the train and another pipe in the room of their house. If you fast forward to the 9:50 mark, you'll see how it works exactly. Seems like a lot of work, but if you have an empty room, it's an awesome idea

Finished my island's school. It's a remake of the one from my old island, but with improvements thanks to the HHP catalog and wall partitions!
First though, the exterior w/playground

The center room is the school's hallway, and has public restrooms

The west room is the music classroom

The north room is the computer lab. By far the most expensive room in the house

The east room is a cooking class, for my villagers to learn to use all those cooking recipes

And the upper floor has two more 'traditional' classrooms

and finally the basement, which is the school library

Do you mean exterior coloring and shape of your house? That comes as you upgrade/add rooms to your house with Tom Nook. Each upgrade allows you to customize more things (roof, door, siding, shape, etc). After you’ve paid your final home loan, you can start customizing your house for free.
