I also just got a Toby sanrio card from a pack of cards at Target. He's japanese themed. When you scan them in to your campsite it gives you all their items available in nook shop immediately 💜 so far I've done chai the elephant and Toby I'm doing all of them soon

I personally like the armor if you are going for a more medieval/castle vibe. Statues if you want like a more beautiful entrance to a courtyard, fancy mansion. Ultimately both would work it just a matter if you want more elegant or not. Def keep the planters and topiaries they look great where you placed them

I'm trying to make my Island look Japanese with one Downtown and one traditional part, and I just recently got the terraforming feature, I'm still pretty far behind on the game, right now I am building a secret water shrine hidden behind some bamboo, does anybody have any recommendations for flowers in general that work for a traditional Japanese/Asian island?

I need some opinions. My new island theme is Coastal Fairycore (or something like this), and this is the pathing that I decided to mainly use. I really like this code, BUT it’s beginning to look kind of off when I use it like this. I know I should probably add breaks in between the pathing, but I feel like it’ll still look a bit weird. I’m thinking about just using the in game stone pathing since I really like that one too. I don’t know. I’ve never been good at using paths like this one. Should I keep using this path or should I switch to stone?

Noticed a trend lately that just about every island I come across or visit is themed after either cottagecore, kidcore, fairycore, or zen/asian-themed, or some variation of the above. So I threw together a list of other potential island themes. Can anybody think of any more that I'm missing? Also if I were to expand upon some of these island themes (with villager lists, decoration suggestions, pattern codes, etc.) would anybody like to see it or no?

Something that helps me with those paths is alternating with other paths, and also accessorizing with 1x1 custom designs as accents. Here’s an example of what I mean. I have a main flower path, and also made patches with a dirt path and brick path, and I used some small details like planks, flowers, puddles etc to fill in gaps

The only thing you can do is put all that stuff on your beaches until you’re able to upgrade your storage (if you haven’t).

Yes, but the only time frame for cherry blossom trees in the northern hemisphere is the first 10 days of April. After that they turn into regular hardwood trees. So if you’re going to get cherry blossom trees, you would either need to change your hemisphere, or time travel to anytime between April 1-10th

I build pretty much all my "perspective" builds the same way - start off with a specific spot that will be the main picture-taking spot, then keep going back and forth between the background and that spot to edit it in a way that I think looks good. I also start off with the bigger things (bridges, rivers, terraforming), then start including large items (houses, trees, very large furniture), then gradually work my way down to the smallest items like flowers. Here's a timelapse of this build in case it's helpful!
