To me personally, the back of the island is the area where i’ve found that I have space issues more than anything due to wanting to make sure the spaces back there have plenty of decor/trees behind them as well, so i prefer starting there and working your way down

Yeah it takes a while! Basically right now I think the colourful lanterns offset the brightness from the stall well, but if you then customise the stalls to darker wood and maybe pinker tops then it could balance better, you might be able to alternate lamps and menus more for example

People come up with those ideas through trial and error. Terraforming and waterscaping are things that require that. Once you get the hang of it then things will be come easier.

Try adding random cliffs in different shapes/sizes around your map, i think thats easier to work w than a flat map. Take inspo from pinterest, literally my islands just a mashup of ideas i see. Once u have ur first area done, youll need to work around however u landscaped it so itll like.. naturally help u determine how to shape the connecting areas

Should I do no stalls or stalls? It's a little mini fishing/seaside fish food resort type mashup and I've got Coco and Zucker's little private area there in the back next to where their homes will be. But I dunno what to do with the beach area here in regards to the stalls.

the only suggestion i can give here is thickening the land around the fences, using bushes and such. youve really given yourself very little legroom in terms of terraforming

Alright so I'm trying to make a sort of zen, chill, aesthetic zone for a little space I want to fill on my island and this is what I have so far, now I think I overdid it with the bushes but I want it to look full (it's meant to be purely decorative not functional) so what do you guys think of it and what would you suggest to improve it to make it look like all that stuff "fits" together?

the tiles are a bit bare, try adding some weeds to empty tiles and scatter some flowers of your choice (custom designs would work well if you can use those). the bushes are fine though if you feel its a bit over done a great idea would be to add more bamboo trees of varying growth stages (stunted). theres more furniture that you can use as well, the bamboo and new moss/vine diys would probably look great in this area!

I need a change and I have to admit, I'd rather follow someone else's advice to make my island better rather than trying to imagine it myself. I'm not a great planner / builder so I try to look online for pretty gardens, flowers layout designs then adapt them to how I like them but I'm stumped and I don't know how to change this. I want to have the villagers pretty much either in one place but in pairs like I've done, the tailors and nook shop together and campsite near the beach as I've done so already. Can anyone help with a nice design for this island? I'd particularly like to have a zen / chill garden, a nice flower / beehive patch, some fun bits and bobs and small porches for furniture for my villagers.

Maybe that? The mont are mountain XD. There is enought place to add a graden or other thing. It's just a plan you can change thing place to make it more personal of course. Hope this kind of help XD.

My thing for yard decorating is to look at the homes interior and take ideas from that. Also maybe consider what they request in HHP, but sometimes those items are unrelated to their home interior or general aesthetic. But that’s just what I do. My island doesn’t really have a theme I need to stick to and consider fitting in everything
