also, my new island is going to be split in two (a rural/farm japan, where ill also be growing vegetables and stock), and that city/small metro japan. the two river openings will divide the parts, and there’ll also be staircases leading down to imaginary train platforms with the mario pipes that will teleport you to the different sections of the island. what do you think?

So before the update I decided to redo/add to my island’s areas a bit so I re-did my library, added a farm + a little shed to keep a watering can and a shovel and also completely redid my museum area and gave it its own actual space instead of its small corner that it was originally in

Fall seems to be the most popular season for cottage core, when I did it I used a lot of mush diys the red leave pile and cedar trees, warm tones help pull it together and lots of water shaping help

it helped me a lot since I'm also doing cottagecore theme, and inspo helped me out a lot! you can search up different things starting in "cottagecore..." like maybe entrances and buildings! there's also lots of youtubers that you can take inspo out of as well. Hope this helps!

I’d say fill it with flowers, bushes, and other small items that fit the theme of your island. If it’s a long & skinny area in front of your shops, you probably don’t want to cover them up with bigger items!

So my town is gonna be modeled after a city by the river, quaint cozy, like new orleans, i went with terra cotta paths and brick bridges but i cant decide which trees go well with the island, so we got normal trees palm trees and pine trees? Which one is better? Im probably gonna do tea olive shrubs and hibiscus bushes, or should i change the theme and go with a quaint mountaintop city? Full of pines

Honestly, if you can, just make an island of villagers that you like. No matter if it's in Animal Crossing or IRL, there's gonna be a varying cast of screwballs living in a single neighborhood. I think those folks would make quite an interesting island.

However, there isnt a definite judgement of what villagers can fit into what kinda island, it rlly just depensd on how you twist it
