If you really want to flatten the whole thing, I’d go in with a plan in mind. It’s a pretty bare canvas otherwise. You could just redo small sections at a time and it would probably be less stressful?

I think the design around your plaza is pretty cool! Great use of design there! The tiers might make it a little hard to look into, so maybe less front tier? One of the things that I’ve realized about AC is that it’s best built back-to-front so that your tallest stuff is in the back and doesn’t block other things.

Your home (upper right, yeah?) is pretty far away from the action, you’ve got a long haul to get to some of your island features, so I would ask what features you use most and either move near to them or move them closer to you. On the same front the villagers are also far away from the action, and their yards will stack in on each other visually. I’d consider spreading them horizontally instead of vertically so you can see more space.

You also probably want another bridge that crosses the river directly west of the neighborhood, because it’s difficult to access

Ish? I’m pretending it’s Harvest Moon and all my villagers are farmers / people who work in the village. Renee does pumpkins nad pears, Tank does oranges, Julia’s the teacher, Chevre is the beekeeper, that kind of thing

Depends on what you want to do. Most layouts can be used for anything but if you want straight and angular designs it can be annoying if things are just a little "off".

It's a bit hard to see if a straight 2 tiles wide path from the airport would meet up with the plaza corner perfectly or clip it (so that one tile of the path goes outside of the plaza area and the other hits the plaza). The first option would be really nice if you want to make/change to a more angular design, while the latter would be terrible in that case. If you want to make something more free-form, it doesn't matter.

Can I ask what made you dislike resetting/flattening so much?

I thought Id be able to make the perfect island from a blank slate

What I ended up with was a flat piece of crap with no trees, water, hills, or literally anything and I hit a ten foot thick concrete wall of builders block

What should I put here for the overlook? The area is behind blather bookstore and some apartments and to the right in the picture is a k.k. record shop with a little band meet up behind it. Farther to the right is the rest if the shopping district. I'm thinking that this area will be inaccessible so purely decorative suggestions are fine! I considered a lake with a moon in the middle? I was too!!! Then someone suggested me to start with a lil neighborhood! I placed two house close to each other and started decorating their garden. Then I moved to the entrance + plaza as they’re v important! I’ve also checked what was the view from my fly over and « fenced » it all to have a better idea of what would be my island’s first impression

Hey guys, I would love your opinion on something real quick. I just started my residential area, and the whole bottom right hand side is going to be a foresty cottage core style. I want all my villagers to have a little some space to decorate outside their yard but I don't want to do squares or grids

So I just set up the first one and I realized I messed up where the ramp has to go

so the part where the brown path is is where i wanted it to go. but then the ramp would be extending really far into the market area. so my question is, should i put the ramp vertical, where the stones are? or should i just shift the demo yard into the corner so i have more space?

Depending on how developed your island is, it can take a long time. When I redid my island, I just did parts of it at a time and decorated those to make sure there was no random empty space. But I also kinda figured out where I wanted things to go, moved nothing (put pathing where the shops/houses would be to make sure I was sure), and then put everything in place slowly to not waste bells or burnout from a whole revamp

What are you trying to do? Move the rocks? If so, then you're not using nearly enough mannequins. You need to place them on a grid pattern, every 3 spaces horizontally and vertically

Basically, you use custom paths and mannequins by placing custom designs all over your island with an area set up for all of your rocks to appear, then break them every day until they appear there.

This way the rocks are organized, near each other, and easy to farm while also adding flavor to the island depending on how you place them.
