I dont suggest a restart... I would highly reccomend you put the campsite on a higher layer and move the museum seperate from Resident services so that they arent too craped. The housing district is good but keep a consistent distance with your houses

you need to pick up all the items, plant flowers, place every single furniture item you own outside, plant different type of trees (apples,cherries,coconut, etc.) have at least 8 villagers or more

Flowers flowers flower, make crafts sent up little stations and once u can make paths it will look a lot better this is going to be expensive tho if you want real change also maybe work on oublic works projects i.e bridges etc

Your layout is inconsistant, without terrain tools it will be much harder to make your island perfect by your standards.
You got 10 houses which has wasted unplanned space, at best, it would be wise to place decorations, flowers, and trees like mad so that Isabelle says it is good!

I feel like the island was rished at the start which is a big fault, you just have to take time and think on what you want your ideal town to be

bridges arent needed, they are cool but you dont need them for a 3 star. u only need that log bridge you craft when placing the 3 villager plots!

but i think the best thing to do is first pick up all of your items, plant trees, get you bells from shaking them, and plant losts of flowers, make sure to make lots of diys and place them i recommend basic sectioninhg until you can have paths and teraforming

Try making a lil parking lot I’m on the side and put the bikes there then do some flowers and paths

i would change the ground into maybe a brick pattern (i have codes if you need) and then i would craft background into a cafe type look or use those little stand i cant remeber the name then i would switch the vending machines to an ally way and then add more tables and seating add candles (from the wedding set if you have it) and then maybe add a small white picket fence if you have room could look cute.

i think an added pop of color could be cool so maybe a stone pathway area underneath it and then the booths with a fun pop of color

so what Im saying is that you can take the 2 stands to the left of you and make a cliff behind the stands. Then you can find a good roofing tile and customize the tops of the stands and the top of the cliff, making the whole thing seem like one lsamll building

I think alot of citycore/ cottage core folks do that trick to make the cliffs look like buildings or stores

For me personally, I place any trees or tall items down first so I know what will be blocking what when I decorate. I also place down any potential items I want there in general in no specific place just so I can compare their heights and colors and that usually gives me enough inspiration to finish an area

you can put short trees with a nursery fruit tree to prevent it from growing more as well i use it to put trees in places that would normally block things

it has to be beside the tree but playing around with it ive found it doesnt matter where it is around the tree just that it is directly beside it and you let the tree grow to the height you want then plant a fruit beside it i understand that it doesnt work with coconuts but i havent played with it to verify that

it should allow you to move it though the fruit sapling must move with it in order for it to stay that size other wise it will grow again i set mine up in a line and let them grow to the desired size then move them into place so my best guess is that you had it too close to something else

i find with paths like those they look better when theyre not narrow. have you tried making the paths into like circular/asymmetrical shapes heading upwards instead of one narrow path? you can still be symmetrical with how you decorate with the items but making it look like splashes /rainbow puddles would be super cool with that path!

You need to have at least 4x3 space of water to build a bridge. You can also build a bridge over a river that is up to 5 spaces wide. You cannot build that is less than 3 spaces and more than 5 spaces wide

Maybe you could add more bushes. Maybe some hibiscus next to the azalea and some azalea next to the hibiscus so the colors don't look unbalanced when one bush is blooming. As far as flowers, ones that match or compliment the bush colors could look nice

Perhaps creating one 'space' of ground inwards every now and again will give it some character without too much curve. E.g picture.

Then you may want to put some weeds/flowers/rocks/items on these little outcrops to make it blend with its surroundings :D
