gshjdkfkfl i decided to have a resort themed island before the game was even released yet because i assumed with it being island based there would be a lot of tropical themed stuff. HOWEVER that was not the case 🥲 i’m finding it so difficult to style my island in this theme i kinda wanna abandon it all together. there just seems to be way more pwps and items for japanese theme, cottagecore, and pastel theme and tbh most of the designs i see people make call into one of those themes. so idk. i feel dumb giving up on my initial idea but i also feel like my island is never going to look good because i kinda doomed it from the start...

But more formal and city-like WITH a fountain!

You say a train station would be a bit big for your area, but the picture below shows a dream I visited the other day, it uses throwback containers to make mini trains. A mini train station would probably fit quite nicely into your office. (Not forcing it upon you though 😅) otherwise an idea is you could use brown phone boxes in your post office

Ok! Heres how id picture it working!!
So, it follows the shape pictured below.
Brown lines are where a ramp would go, green dots and red lines is the intended path taken, and the orange boxes are farmland. This is the most compact design i could think of, and its also possible to mirror it, and create a double farm. The shape of each farm also means you'd be able to interlock them with one another, meaning that if you so wished, you could make a whole line of them. Hope this helped!

I guess spacing doesn't need to be perfect, especially with gardens since they are so natural. Irregularity can give a space its uniqueness. I did something similar with my walk up to my museum. I didn't measure it out at all, just placed them. but it still works!

You could just throw a bit of everything together! For example, my island is mainly "village" themed, but I also have somewhat cottagecore vibes going on with the cliffs at the back of my island, one of my beaches then is very tropical, another has a huge playground on it, my museum entrance is really fancy and doesn't really fit in but also somehow does, my entrance is SUPER elaborate and over the top. You just have to focus on blending it all together really so that it doesn't look like total chaos

Hmmmm 🤔 ...I might move the bench and place the tourist telescope there instead and then have two benches on either side of it. The only problem is that I already have so many tourist telescopes and the ledge overlooks the neighborhood, which is not the most interesting of sighs to see

Hm too much of a good thing isn’t great! I was the same with the cafe areas. I think it’d be cute if you put a little table with fish bait on top next to the bench, and put some decoy ducks at the bottom to look like a bird feeding area! Might be annoying to walk in tho

yes they can if you do a glitch I believe. I don't know if they patched it but without doing a glitch, they have to have 8 spots around for cliffs and water

It’s ok! The nice thing is that the only permanent features in your town are the shape of your beach, where you river starts and ends, and where Resident Services is so if you hate something you can always change it!

I gave a similar warning to someone else but just be aware that if you put your villager’s homes really close together they’ll have a tendency to hang out in that one part of your town often and not spread out as evenly

If that doesn’t bother you then great! But I have had experience with my villager houses being really close together and not loving it
