I’ve been renovating my town for the 1 year anniversary, this is my new sports park that will change sport with the seasons. Spring-Baseball, Summer-park will become a food stand destination with fishing pond, Fall-football, Winter-Ice Hockey.

Try placing iron garden benches there and customize them to either white or black, depending on if you want them to blend in with the white path or stand out against it. If those don't look right, try wooden garden benches instead and customize them again to either white or another color

My theme is a town

so i was thinking about getting rid of this area since it's just in the middle of everything (a cliff, photography pond, a small intersection, and a bridge from the rest of my island) and replacing it with one of those cool apartments people make. BUT that would also mean lots of trading to get rid of my camellia shrubs. which is fine, because i dont like hydrangea and camellia that much lol. what do yall think? i'm thinking about making a fancy castle-type area since the pond beside it is more space/star themed, so i think it'd work. honestly i dont think there's anything i can put here for a cottagecore island, so i might just do a rustic castle-type area. what do yall think?

For me personally on my first island I didnt really have a theme, but i made a list of areas i wanted to include, eg diner, town centre, library, laundrette etc. Then when I unlocked terraforming I started at the entrance and built out with a rough idea in my head of where i wanted the bigger areas in my list, then the smaller areas i squeezed in between

imo I found inspiration from islands and didn't really take what they built as inspo, but how they did it. I made it my own sorta? idk if this helps

It helped me to just start from the Resident Services Center. Build the area around it first! Do you want to put fences around it? Maybe even cliffs to make it look like walls? Or do you fancy a river around it more? Once you enjoy the area around your resident services, you can just kinda expand from there. I personally have one specific style of decorating my paths and rivers that spans over the entire island, but, of course, some might fancy a more diverse design more. The easiest way to find your own style is to just try stuff out that you think might look cool or that you've seen on other, multiple islands! It is not copying, but inspiration! I recommend just looking around dream islands!

If you plan on doing terraforming ide start by moving your house and villagers to the beach and flatten everything thing out also the museum tailors nooks and campsite so you don’t have to work around them

Silent hill? You should do like a housing strip on the right, and even have some houses going up the incline and make it a little spooky area

I personally don't think a phone box or street lamps will distract from the misalignment due to the line in the middle of the road. I would forego the bridge and also remove the three (maybe even four) squares of sidewalk at the top and curve the street into the parking lot so that it's a street corner. Add a manhole cover in the middle and add sidewalk along the river. Just my two cents but I usually gravitate towards a different aesthetic than most here, and I just started in Feb., so take it with a grain of salt. (I too have roads on my island though which is why I responded.)
