Don't worry too much about your island for now, as you can change everything in the future. If I were you, i'd think about how your paths would look, and try and make movement in your island as efficient as possible. Also, there are some websites that let you design your town! I don't know how far you are in the game, but you might have to tear down everything on your island to make a new layout, if you want to

First plant bushes at the bottom of the cliff, put 3 country fences above the cliff where the bushes is

Then plant a cedar tree behind where originally the white tulip is and put the informative stone between tree and incline

Lastly put a log bench instead in front of tree and stone

If that was my island, I'd make the lower right a shopping district with main facilities included. The back would be residential area and left side is camping area and forest. I wish I had the same island layout, I choose two river exit facing south before knowing you couldn't move them. :|

@bold timber my advice is look on Pinterest and youtube. When you find even just one thing you like, figure out where you want it on your island(like a general area, like somewhere in the middle or somewhere top left), then start working on it.

my first step would be to demolish your flower hoard. i found that same problem on my island and when i took the leap and simply trashed any flowers i didn't want everything got easier to handle with all that space

I think it makes the most sense to at least get rid of the flowers you have that are easiest to duplicate. For example, green mums and blue roses ONLY ever produce green mums and blue roses when they're bred together, so they're super, super easy to duplicate. Pink hyacinths when bred together can often produce white or red hyacinths, so they're harder to duplicate. So I keep more pink hyacinths around since they're more difficult to duplicate

I'm struggling to figure out the placement of things, though I suppose that happens over time. My island has an island in the middle which I plan on making my shopping district. @upper bane I have river mouths on the bottom of the map and I find it hard to determine how best to handle the river when it gets closer to the center of my map. Honestly, for me personally I take a lot of inspiration from real life. Like, with the two shops for example I took inspiration from store fronts in rl, and with my villagers yards I imagined how they would decorate their yards not how everyone else does. Then, my orchard takes up a large space so I don't have to worry about that. And my paths all connect which I find makes decorating easier

Well the theme can be a combination of everything you like 🙂 The theme is you! 🙂 So if you like space stuff, my suggestion is to find inspo via google. Also keep in mind that you want a mix of height of items/elevation to add depth and make it interesting. A moon exhibit would be cool which would transition nicely to the museum if you wanted to put it near RS

If it was me I would terraform a kind of C shape around the corner of RS. You can then add an incline and put the museum on the second level or make a star gazing spot/continue the space theme. Trees will be good to make the space feel enclosed. Hopefully these suggestions will help ya out a bit

I suggest something like log benches for the supplies and then any workbench (I’d recommend the simple diy workbench) and for the panels what theme are you going for like do you want it to match with like red, yellow and blue or what

@signal peak if you want to separate the RS more from the airport you can used trees and terraforming to hide it a bit and make the player enter from another direction. My RS is aligned center but I used terraforming so they player entered from the bottom right corner of the RS

@limber shadow add some trees! Yes on those bricks. Well change the one tile to grass of course but then add a hedge or fence in front and it’ll cover it up. Then you can add music players like the bamboo speakers which is thin and can hide behind trees well
