I dont have a forest, but I have the big brontosaurus thing behind my museum with the trex and triceratops flanking the entrance. If you do something like that then mix in some trees and raptors and those little cutie dinos....maybe put some poo partially behind a bush.

I would keep the big guys closer to the museum and just scatter the little ones among some trees. use bushes and maybe even the grass standee to hide the display stands if you like?

U can flatten ur island and start with a blank canvas, I haven't tried it personally but I think it helps remove all the cliffs so u won't have to knock them down 1by1

But of course, building everything back up will be time consuming, either way there's no "fast" way to do this

I flattened my island & was doing good with the redesign for like, 3 months. Then, nothing.
You take all the character out of the island & could potentially loose the inspo. My personal suggestion is to not flatten, it's way more time consuming

Honestly, terraforming is a pain, but once you get it how you like, it definitely feels good! You just have to take it a space at a time. Also, know that if you skip a line of cliffs like 0X0X0X0 and demolish the x first, you won't have to click twice on each cliff face, because it won't round out.

If you're done looking at your current design then it's a sign it's time to change. And yeah, it's hard parting with something you put so much time in, and possibly still like. At the beginning I use to worry about regretting too, but so far it seems like I always like my new designs more. Cause you've leveled up your building skills so you're a better builder now. So I say trust yourself. You're gonna like your new designs ;)

I had a main island theme of natural/cottagecore but I gave each villager there own area/ theme which really helped me to fill up space and use a variety of colours (which was one of my main aims for this redesign)
If you want I could help decide some themes for certain villagers if you'd be interested in a similar idea of layout

The other option is making a neighborhood which there are lots of links about in the pinned comments but would take up less space

I like cottage, fairy and Japanese cores but I definitely think cottage is the most popular and easiest since its mainly just moving things on your island around. If I were you I’d also pick a specific color for your flowers (on my island they’re pink). Or instead of making your island all one theme just decorate outside all the houses to match their themes. You can put the houses on cliffs too so they don’t clash with one another. And keep it simple, too many diys makes it messy looking.

first i would probably get the max amount of villagers, or maybe get some diys via the washed up beach bottles, villagers, balloons... as well as saving up! once you get enough of everything and progress with your island, later on you could terraform it and change the layout

ah, i get that. if you have terraforming, you could make the rivers bend a bit so it's still natural, otherwise just remove water from the area you want to use.

so if you're getting rid of the waterfalls on the side, (if i misunderstood, completely ignore this lol) maybe make some sort of restaurant or café, or even a bar since it's near the campsite. if you go with this idea, i suggest using lots of wood/log items especially to match the campsite theme. i'm very sorry if this makes no sense or doesnt work for your space, i'm busy thinking about other things as i type this and i may be no help at all haha

okay so i have this garden/flower crossbreeding area behind my RS and beside NC, but i was thinking about getting rid of it and surrounding my plaza with cliffs for my cottage-core theme. i'm also really unhappy with my plaza decor rn so i think the cliffs will make it easier. i was thinking about making this whole area cliff and putting inclines on either side then put a path and flowers to get across. thoughts?
