Use mushroom and natural DIYs like the natural log bench, leaf campfire, rocking chair, etc. Flowers everywhere, choose 2-3 good colors that work together 🙂 And shrubs too. If using fencing, don’t do a solid “line”— maybe use like 2-3 of the country fences, interrupt it with a tree or shrub or furniture, and repeat. It ends up looking way more natural that way!
I followed the cluttercore mantra of no bare soil— so where I have a walkable space, I put down a decorative little custom design or weeds. Like a clover patch, a mushroom fairy circle, etc.~

I usually go for the cottage core theme but I’m wanting to do more of a cottage core meets city because I don’t like how cottage core islands are just all cliffs and waterfalls, I want actual things on my island like a post office, concert area etc. so like both of them combined. The photos attached were some ideas that I was thinking but idk I don’t love either of them

I couldn’t do cottage core cause there’s so many areas I wanted to make that I hardly have rooms for many cliffs and waterfalls

Wow yours is super pretty I love the mix of pathing in there. I was thinking of doing the 2 path way thing at my enterance like yours because having a single path at my enterance might get annoying if I want to go left but have to go right because it’s blocked off. And exactly!! Cottage core is pretty but it gets boring when all it is is waterfalls and ducks on cliffs LOL

You are lucky as! I’ve always wanted to do a complete city island as I think they seem pretty challenging however I’ve seen some really beautiful and well made ones, my current island doesn’t really have a specific theme

i’m kinda going for forestcore so i’m trying not to do as many cliffs, the townhall looks really good surrounded by trees so maybe you don’t even need an elaborate entrance, just do heaps of trees lol

Hey guys, I'm always stuck at laying down the villagers houses. I aim for the houses to be spread out on the entire island but I just don't know where to put them and how to terraform around them. Does anyone have some tips and suggestion about that? Maybe you know a Youtube video or something like that. Or map inspo. 🤗

For some of my villagers, I make a small hill to put their houses on top, and they have their little yard in front of their house as well. But the hills are spread out, they’re not connected.
