Is that your secret beach in the back? You could decorate the area for Redd, I've seen lots of people do like mini pirate coves, or little art galleries and such. Mine is just a little hangout area for him with a clothesline and a little beach chair and that kind of stuff :)

The iron garden chairs/tables and also the natural garden chairs/tables work really well! All the furniture pieces are 1x1 so they take up very little space, and all of them are customizable so they can go with just about any color scheme! As for the path, usually a brick or a wooden path looks cute for a cafe 😄 I would first find a path that you like and then customize the furniture to go with the color scheme!

doing a diagonal bridge from the entrance to the town hall can be really cute if your RS is offset but close!

Well since I have that one lump of land on the side, I was a bit perturbed.. I could turn the top into a wider shelf with the museum and ables, but I want to split the village in half on either side of the river with 5 people on each side, I wanted to make the museum shelf a bit sciencey with a observatory theme

@young anchor you’re implying that you wanna keep the current layout and you don’t want the water to go up and around the museum right? I’d suggest bridges, they do wonders. Maybe one right before the museum?
Another idea would be making waterfalls from small cliffs that then connect to the river mouths, and you also don’t have to make every river connect to the river mouth

Personally i (since I’m still in terraforming as well) I just plan where the bridges will go by making pathing for how wide it needs to be and such, and then you can check when terraforming/basic decorations are there what fits
The stones don’t exactly look natural though, since well, it is a stone bridge that looks man made and not like rocks have fallen into water

@woven drift Just take your time with that though, okay? Don't go spending all of your money because of something I said! Until then, I think the only thing you can do is let your mom do most of the island decorating, and maybe suggest compromises if you can? Like "If you don't want this, what WOULD you be okay with me doing?" and see if you can find a middle ground between you that works 🙂

Eh, nothing wrong with that, @dawn stream. I personally prefer less clutter compared to a lot of islands which dumps so much furniture around that a lot of it feels it serves no purpose. Or you can't move around easily without bumping into things

I can understand it if the area is not meant to be accessed by foot. But when it feels like the designer is a minotaur, something's up
Right now... My design is more Rustic/foresty. I am making use of cliffs to create natural paths, and to create a feel of distance. But I try to keep roads clean
And use only enough furniture. Water scapes, I use for only areas where there's no natural visual interest. Like I have an acre thats acting as a cross roads. One area directly outside is plain, and impossible to make appealing without water. So its tied into a river
Too lazy to dig out the microsd
But this is what I have so far. And is evolving piece by piece. When Im happy with the overall layout in a few quadrants I will add in plants and more furniture where needed
