@warped umbra are those sprouts trees? Depends on the vibe you're going for, but if you like you could make a square (putting a 4th one), fill the sides with bushes (2 of the same type alternating colours, for example) and on the inside put some flowers, all of the same colour for example. It's similar to something I did around my house, but I didn't use trees and the shapes were more irregular, but it looks cool

@woven drift I've seen decent ones if you have it as a vertical bridge (since it hides the fact that it's not a real bridge). You'll just need to find a good custom path + use metal-looking fencing

^ other than that you need to destroy rocks and they will respawn in random places in your island. you can look up in youtube ways to put them in specific places

The museum can be just another building down the block if it's city vibes or up on a mountain/hidden away if it's natural, or just close by your house/plaza/shops for easy access etc. I had my museum in the top right corner before as it's own little area with a small pond inside a crator I made, but now I have it somewhat closer to the plaza bc I transformed the museum into a school

@plain forge the vibe of my island is just a cute themed island with pastel colors and stuff (alot of pink and white) and I kinda created a small city area but unfortunately its way too close to the edge of the map so theres not a ton of room. I used to have the museum in the top area of my island but I moved it to put villager homes there

@quick elbow I see; my advice would be to plan out an area first before placing your museum (decorate and put down paths first) so you won't have to spend extra bells to move it back and forth if it doesn't work out. I don't have a map pic rn but here's my current museum, the part where the hedge fencing touches the bottom in the second pic is where my beach starts and I had planned out the courtyard with paths before placing my museum so I knew I'd have lots of room

@prisma folio Usually I go with species related items and their colors. Here maybe a white bird bath (even if she's giant), maybe a sandbox and so on. You can arrange it to look nice. You can also see what she likes to do. For example, my Coco loves to read and drink hot tea. I have a mini library with a chair, end table and a tea set. For Megan, I have a honey thingy and tea set, among others.

@waxen hinge I always wonder if these kinds of islands even look good outside of screenshots. Usually just call them "instagram islands" because in my experience every time I visit one the iillusion is always broken without the filters and the simple panels obviously don't sell as well when you can break perspective with the background.

Hey guys! Any tips on how to make walkways less bland?
@desert prairie there are also codes so you can add flowers to the edges, moss, mushrooms, etc. When you lay them on top of the path they can be kicked away but they still look nice

That's perfect, although I wouldn't reccomend it if you are planning on using a staircase foe something else, if you don't then totally go for it if you want

Maybe if you start it from one space behind? It will take a space from the bridge you made there, on from the lower area, and one from the top layer

I want to avoid taking a space away from my land bridge because it will force me to change all the water work around it
I might end up doing the star gazing on the lower level, not sure. I wish I could make a little picnic area a level lower inside of the octagon lol

You could make a mixture maybe?? Like you could put a blanket and the food but there are star themed decorations around, and a telescope on the front

well u can't because u dont get the island designer app till level 3
so in the beginning i just built on the different levels
but once i got the island designer some areas in the front are raised
but in the back i have this hill where i hide all my flowers lmfaoo
cuz u need like 200 flowers or more to reach 5 stars
so i just hide them in the back hahaa

@idle cave This is really late, but that looks really great, i love the yellow color palette you've chose, something that might make it look a bit more detailed is just adding some small items in the pathway and on the sides if that's the look you're trying to go for, maybe like a yellow portable radio, whatever looks good.
And personally, ive been using a lot of rusted jail bars as fencing, since therye so tall i put them one level below my walkway

FT: I have every furniture/clothing piece cataloged (so if you want anything, just ask), hundreds of NMTs, millions of bells, full diy sets (ask for full list), can also craft you anything (got all diys), buy you a villager (? lol, just in case or you can have one of mine: ungifted & all i’m fine letting go), full sets of whatever you want (museum art? fossils? rare clothing? just ask, i might have :0! )

@woven drift You could have like pillars of land in the middle so people can jump over it? But the only ways to get down are ladders and inclines
@median nymph I would suggest the green mums, but maybe tulips would look good, maybe an assortment of white flowers, it depends on the decorations youre using
