@half moon there's two approaches really. You could use an island designer and plan the whole thing, or you can start with one area you want to do, then once you're done with that you work on the second and so on

personally, I like the second approach. Start with an area you're particularly inspired to do. Also work on what kind of stuff you want to use across the island for paths and decoration in transition areas

It can be your entrance, or the RS area, or a villager's house you particularly like, but just work on that one area to start with till you get your theme down

(island stories help me with themes and visualising things by the way) so, island story is that everyone’s a valuable part of the coven/have some kind of trade/artisanal thing they do and then sell at the market! e.g molly is the beekeeper so sells honey and tends to the flowers, muffy is a fortune teller and helps keep the aura of the island clean! etc etc! so, artisanal, cottagecore, natural forest vibes are what i’m going with! 🌸
