Sorry to hear about that. But to make the most of it, try to incorporate as many zodiac items as you can and maybe use some other white/ gold items to make up for it. Maybe also add in some white/yellw/gold/pink flowers to accent it better.

Also you could break up the whole are making a dedicated place for each of the imtes and making each area themed around it.

Pro tip: best way to make bright colors work is to provide contrast. so stone and white incline with a normal fence would also work. just leaving my two cents on the matter.

I’m going for a tropical theme which means mostly coconuts and the occasional fruit tree but that really limits what I’ll have cause I won’t have many non fruit trees let alone pines

This is true. I set up a farm/orchard on mine where my fruit trees live. Also the highest inaccessible peak is where I'm keeping my cedar, hardwood, and money trees. It's to the very back of the island so unless you know where to look, they don't show. The rest of my island is coconut trees with some bamboo groves more inland.

Now that I think of it, I may try scaling down how many fruit trees I have to just one of each fruit, and just store fruit for later if I ever want to plant more. Would give me more slots for bamboo and coconuts without harming my 5 star status. It's hard to fill big spaces though! I'm slowly running out of ideas that fit my tropical/realistic theme.

there are three main path styles that i tend see: base path style, custom path style, eclectic style. while you can easily mix between all three whenever you like, i'll speak about them individually and how to use each style.

I've struggled with laying paths too. I'm relying heavily on a scattered stone custom path for my island because of how frustrating it was to do diagonals. Though maybe be able to pull it off by having your separate paths go vertical a few squares, horizontal, vertical, etc. to get where you want. If you can hide some of the weird bends with trees/buildings/furniture/bushes, it may look more natural?

@woven drift if you want a neighborhood, here's a good guide to help you plan the structure 👇 if you want them scattered, I would start sectioning off general areas where you'd like your villagers to be and decorating around it

@zenith ginkgo rather than flattening your island and getting overwhelmed by the giant space (as many people do), I'd suggest to work on one section at a time. For instance I always start on my entrance and work my way upwards, so I'd only destroy/flatten the bottom, or 30-40% of my island and start building

@primal tartan for sherbs yard I’ve seen people make the moon furniture (nova lights, moon, and crescent moon chairs) with overall blue/white furniture and flowers but I’ve also seen people make playgrounds. For dizzy I would make elephant slides and kidcore items. For lolly I would put the cat tree, cat grass, and maybe the pet bed with gray/pink furniture, and for Dom I would make him like a pink aesthetic gym!

I feel like I've kinda plateaued in the game and the best part of it was setting up and terraforming the whole island.

Maye I'd move the whole neighborhood somewhere else. Focus on either 3 small spaces for the whole island insted of my poorly thought up scattered thoguhts

But I always find myself unhappy with most of my other ideas.

@dreamy zealot hey if you're still looking for ideas you could add fencing that leads to a bridge or add little falls/cliffs beside your entrance so it doesn't seem so empty! You could also do a little airport waiting area thing with chairs and a stall/clock/vending machines

Sorry if it’s too late but for happy island designer I’d just recommend figuring out which block is which and take your time with it and have fun! Also, happy island designer is a great way to plan out sections for your island but also sometimes it won’t be 100% the same since you might wanna change things in a certain way while working on that section if that makes sense

@echo anchor I think the decorations around ables look great! I'd start filling the area now with trees, cliffs, and/or other structures, and add pathing for a fuller look!

place furniture all over the place and you'll eventually get 3 stars, once you get terraforming you can clean it all up

@glacial narwhal From playing on my own time and blind. What I found out is that you need 10 villagers to get above 1 star. I also had no issue with the flowers because I had already begun breeding for hybrids, so that's an easy way to get the flowers. Fruit trees are great for adding more trees and it doesn't take a lot of furniture to reach the requirement from my own playtime

Really? That's kinda weird... I could never get above 1 with fewer than 10. But the day I got 10 I was instant 3 stars

I was stuck at 2 stars. Got my 6 or 7 villy. Got 3 the same day nothing changed on my island except villy. Same for 4 star. Got it the same day as 7/8 villy

Huh. That's very interesting. From my talks with Isabelle she always said I was at 1 star and always said the island needed more villagers. Kept it clean, kept breeding flowers. wasn't cutting any trees down. Had furniture here and there. Even at 9 villagers, 1 star. But it's interesting to see that. Congrats on 4 stars btw. I can't stick to a single plan and I'm probably 2 or 3 stars right now with my half-destroyed island XD
