in my opinion dirt gives a more controlled look, so it kind of depends what theme you’re going for

Agreed, if you're going for more of a wild/natural look then no dirt, but if you're creating flower gardens, dirt under the flowers them makes it look more organised and garden-like I think

Second of all, I think that you are overwhelmed by the infinite choices and how big your island is. Take. Your. Time!!!
You dont need to finish it in a week, in a month, or even a year! Start with an area, focus only on that area and from there on if you ever finish it broaden it!

@kindred temple i'd read through the guides and look at dream addresses you really like. unfortunately plotting stuff isn't exactly my strong suit, but I would think about your island as a series of walkways if that makes any sense. i'd recommend starting by figuring out a couple things you absolutely have to have on your island (i started with the beachside campsite bc it just felt like the ultimate chill spot) and started working backwards.

I can totally relate. Before I started terraforming I teared everything down, every tree, every flower (what a cosmos nightmare, from that day on no cosmos can be found on my island), all the rivers and all the cliffs

@lusty bay so i actually started thinking about my island in walkways. i'd actually highly suggest walking around dream addresses to figure out what you like and don't like 🙂 once you figure that one, figure out the placement for one thing. for me, it was the campsite. i wanted it on the beach so i picked the biggest part of my beach and started going from there

@fossil crater it’s all trial and error. If they allowed people to actually build your islands for you it discourages imagination use as well as uniqueness for each island! So just take your time and look at some YouTube 5 star island tours and #dream-addresses🌜 for inspo!

There's a really cool thing live coastal oaks do that support shallow root plants around it. It's an interesting pyramid of plants around it with the oak at the peak, and descending bushes and flowers around them. Also, dry creeks could mimic the look too without having to terraform water ways.

I’m thinking Rhonda more too, I’m gonna make a list of everyone’s skill and home request and try and figure out who would fit best on the beach. I think Rhonda probably because she wants a relaxing island getaway as her home request so that makes sense lol but honestly I’m keeping everyone until I get their pictures then depending might let them move 🤗
