I feel like natural islands aren’t that difficult >_< not to sound arrogant. I think natural cliffs and areas are more forgiving because all the trees, shrubs, rocks, etc. will come together in the end, then tie it with a few waterfalls n cliffs around it.

How do you guys get over the RS being slightly off? i've restarted my game like 10 times and i'm legitimately thinking about doing it again because when i restarted last time, i thought it was lined up but it wasn't and layout-wise i'm struggling now because of my mistake and I feel like i can't make it look good. it's been grinding on my fun of playing because looks of things bother me personally, and i don't know how others make entrances look okay with weird resident service layouts

@upper egret you could surround your RS with cliffs and stack them with panels with a skyscraper pattern on them! Your RS could serve as a courtyard to an apartment complex and you can also hide the front of it the same way!

@upper egret my previous entrance (city) had a straight cliff and waterfall that blocked the entire RS, and now as I'm redoing my island I've fully embraced the slightly offset entrance (old wip video) It doesn't look bad imo~ my RS is offset by like 1 or 2 squares haha

eeee so ive been trying happy island designer and i just uploaded my map and marked off the corners, and the rough map i chose from their gallery doesn't match up so i made the opacity to 100 and now i cant see what im doing

@austere nimbus tbh when I tried that site I just made my own map (they didn't even have map options at the time) and it's ok if it's not 100% correct, since it's just suppose to give you a general layout of things you want on your isalnd and when you actually do it, those details will change :> some people just use a green square and add their own peninsula, rivermouth locations, RS, and airport as that's the only thing you can't change!

Many people I know haven’t figured out their theme until they had over 800+ hours on I played animal crossing over 600+ and just the beginning of the month I figured out my theme, it takes time but my best advice to give is to start to work on villager yards with the items you have and diys you have and as you get more items you can change them up

I've seen a lot of people with themes and also a lot without, but rather a general idea instead. Mine for example is foresty/natural looking but I wouldn't class it as a forest theme because there's random bits of furniture all over that don't really fit, but I like it because it's mine. Just do what you feel like.

I eventually time travelled out of winter because it was difficult for me to design things and love how things looked in the snow but I know others absolutely love the way the snow looks on their islands. I wouldn't be too worried about it since winter is inevitable but maybe trying to find some youtube videos will help? Or #dream-addresses🌜 so you can really get a good look at their islands!

Personally I would think that with a forest some spacing would really help as you can put a lot of items and trees inbetween. I dont know if the third tier near your nooks is needed, but maybe having the nooks on that part of land with some benches nearby the edge of the 2nd tier edge + a homey cafe would be an idea? The benches can be used to create an idea to sit down and watch the sea/sunset/dinosaur
