@humble spoke your RS is pretty distant from your airport so you have a lot of flexibility with how you want to design your entrance when you eventually get terraforming. i like how your peninsula is isolated on your small beach at the top right too~

So I’m trying to make an outdoor entertainment area around my nooks cranny, Mira’s and my houses. It is going to be space themed and I’m having trouble with not only space for objects but I’m running out of ideas. I plan on crafting the big rocket and the asteroid and there is a couple other items that I still need to get, I was also thinking of pushing the houses back. Any suggestions?

hi hello! i finally got around to unlocking the terraforming stuff again, and i was wondering if a bunch of trees tends to be standard for most islands? i was thinking about trying a sort of... forested cliff area all around the island, to a "crater" inland full of shorter plants like shrubs and flowers, kind of like a mountain's valley, i guess
does that seem like a good idea, if a bit difficult?

Depends on the theme, if you going more city then leave it. You could add one more up top too or can add just few (1-2) trees or some of the taller plants on the second level to add some more vertical variance though it looks good already!!

With the Star trees: Nintendo could just have another tree that’s more expensive but you can hang stuff in them, that way you get get trees with items in them, but you would need to have all the items, so you don’t actually gain items for them and are purely cosmetic

@spark dune if you want to fill your island but dont have the time, try filling your island by taking lots of spaces like... make a flower garden with 4 of every flowers, add fountains, benches, make it symmetrical, etc. walkways that takes up 4 spaces, and then add terraforming along side it with stalls all lined up or trees or something. its really easy to make it pretty with minimal effort 🙂

I'm looking for some entrance inspiration! I'm really wanting my island to feel dirty, rustic, and in general just very crowded. I'm planning on using a lot of darker colors and having an urban feel to it in spots. I'm a bit stuck on what to do for my entrance though. i love the look of cliffs and rivers everywhere, so I'm kinda stumped on how to incorporate that with my entrance. if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it!

@torpid sequoia different paths will always be separated by a patch of grass unless they are custom design but you can’t even put flowers on those. but i love ur garden!

@torpid sequoia I believe that photo was taken during autumn/fall where the grass is yellow, and even so there is a filter on that photo as well so it makes the grass less noticeable in between the garden plots and tan paths. Unfortunately there is no way to have a seamless transition unless you use custom designs in a certain way~

@raw stirrup I have two streetlamps in that similar spot for mine! Imo the spot looks fine empty since you have things around it, but you can also try to move the two floor lights to that spot and see if it looks good 🙂

@heavy cobalt just did a quick read-up on rivers and ponds. A body of water will become a river if it's: connected to a waterfall, connected to a rivermouth, or is a long, narrow strip of water. A pond is not any of those - so from I can guess, your large pond is likely too narrow and long so it became a river. Try to make your pond similar in length and width :)

@pseudo beacon in places where you use the center piece, put down a dirt path underneath. Its not transparent, so you won't be able to tell a difference. The map will have little dots along your walkways this way

@heavy cobalt yeah, I don't see anything wrong with the outer dimensions of your pond so it really might just be the cross in the middle that's messing with it. When you cast your fishing rod does the bobber move? If it stays still it's a pond. If not then it has turned into a river

Yo does anybody have any ideas on how I can redo my whole island again? Like a whole island layout. I spent 500h on my current island but it just looks awful that I actually feel bad for making it this way. Here's a clean map of my island if somebody got something that would fit with my airport/residents service. I have one ongoing project so i can show that as well but it just doesn't feel good to me and I need some advice
