Today I'm focusing on the right side of my island. Campsite (top) is already done, but I need to redesign my residential area to be more natural. I was thinking putting one path on a curve going along the edge with houses on the side of it. That way I can have more area up at the middle for a park area. What do yall think of that idea? I'm a big fan of yards btw.

@indigo ravine I'd suggest planning out what kind of neighborhood you want (spread out/together) then just clearing out said area you want em moved to, make sure to keep yard space in mind (if you want a yard of your villagers) then you can think about what you want to put in their yard; just cut up the task into smaller more digestible pieces

@main wren @rocky anchor Don't restart unless your resident services / river mouths are the issue. Nothing else will be fixed by resetting. My advice would be to just keep changing things little by little - eventually you'll find that you've created something you like (: It's a lot of trial and error honestly

@rocky anchor I think the extra pop will come with time. When you see islands that have that wow factor, those weren't created the first time or probably even the second time through renovating. The creators of those islands have put in a looooot of time and effort and done a lot of experimenting to figure out what pops for their island.

I have a big winding dirt path like that on my island and it always bugged me until I realized that natural paths are winding because they’re navigating around obstacles. Maybe add a pond into that dip in the path and it’ll feel more realistic to have the curving path!

yeah! a lot of mine is divided into nice areas because i tried to keep my natural layout as much as possible. i like having areas that feel grouped. so the whole left side of my island is "party beach" ... surfboard rentals, beach chairs, sandcastles, beach balls, basketball court, my shell bar, and it's where my jock and peppy live since they feel like they'd want to live in the center of activity like that

Anyhow no offense to anyone who wants to play this game in a vegan way, but! with cooking possibly rumored to come along that may become more difficult. Stardew valley is more vegan friendly because you can choose to not raise animals according to some vegan friends of mine.
