oh wow i meannn ... if you have a friend you could store your current stuff on their island and reset for a better layout or atleast thats what id do. in this case i dont really think diys matter since you probably dont have a lot. only thing youd be losing are your villagers and your fish and bug list

@fierce heron start by designing neighbourhoods. I did my near the airport and really concentrated in one area. Then move on to making a shopping district (able’s, nookling’s museum). And you can design a few amenities along the way

so im using the 'arched tile' path throughout the majority of my island....but i cant decide which bridge type i should pair it with: wooden zen bridge OR the brick bridge....my theme is sort of a european style (big roads, with cafes and seating areas along the water fronts, etc)

@tardy helm i’ve been a huge animal crossing fan since WW and i felt the same way when i started. honestly the way i figures out how to craft my island was watching a lot of island tours and looking at peoples pictures. just remember that no matter what your island is yours and it doesn’t matter if it’s completely decked out or empty. i had to restart my island like 3 times before now crafting it the way that i want.

@chilly sparrow you can't make it "flush" with an angled bridge because there isn't a full tile under the bridge for the path to go to, bc paths can't be placed on half tiles. you kind of have to embrace it with angled bridges. here's how i did one of mine, you might find it helpful.

@woven drift i think the rivers on the bottom level look good, and i like your big splat lake. the rest of the river on the second level doesn't have as natural of a flow, and it ends abruptly on both the ends where it forks off, so i would focus on reworking that part, and be proud of the lower level part!

for everyone that is kinda stuck in decorating, don't think too much about it and just randomly throw objects of a certain color scheme! light sources are awesome for decoration and look great at night, for example snack machines, streetlamps, garden lanterns, floor lights, star clocks, nova lights, tiki torches, lanterns (usually for inside the house but u can use them outside too).

also, i totally recommend using inside decoration for outside corners u guys create (-: for example the complete rattan set is awesome for a spa/waiting waiting/beachy type of thing or the antique set for a serious outdoor library. u can also implement two types of theme so for example rustic with diner set (choose a rustic-ish color) or cottagecore with an outdoor pool gathering place.

@soft belfry for one you should link your waterfalls so they connect and add custom water puddle paths, and leaves, flowers, Bush, you should also add decoy ducks, and make a nice lake at the bottom. To make it pop you can make a middle tile In the lake land and add a statue, to develop that more you could add the lake into two small streams, going down left and right towards the airport, then add 2 diagonal zen bridges, one going to RS, and one to the other side. Finally add bench’s and plants

@robust mist hm, maybe garden lights so it looks aesthetics pleasing at night and if it’s natural make a row of trees leading to the first split of pathways, maybe leave one away so you can put that garden next to the entrance. I’m not the best with entrances but I hope this was slightly helpful

Making a fruit/flower themed cafe, this what I have so far, just found out peach chairs can’t be accessed easily like the Apple chair and mum cushions can also looking for suggestions on what else to add

well, for royal i would suggest using a lot of stone items and the iron and stone fence. looks really castley. the gold chair DIY also would be good. using a lot of dark, richly colored flowers, like the purple and blue roses and windflowers, will help it look more regal. don't be shy with the gold roses either.
for tropical, definitely a lot of palm trees and coconut and bamboo items are in order. find some beach chairs you like and the cypress tub item to create a nice little resort.
for adventurey, don't be shy with trees, especially palm trees and pine trees. getting some bug models to place around would be really cool too.

@robust mist have been trying to make a tropical Resorts of some sorts but im trying to keep everything yellow. I would Like to make big hedge Gardens with statues and fountains etc

I’m completely restarting my island (getting rid of everything so it’s flat) and I have a basic idea for a theme but I have no idea how to terraform it or make a map in animal crossing happy island designer. I also kinda need theme ideas (based around fairytale and creepy but anything else is appreciated) so yeah please message me haha
