@tranquil laurel I think quite a few people have restarted just because they dislike their layout, but personally i'd avoid doing that unless you have an incredibly close rs (2-4 tiles away) and you really cant figure out anything to do about it since as you said, you'd have to recatalogue and relearn so many items and diy's. I find it better to work with what you have, especially since you can terraform and change so much of your island anyway

i completely agree it’s just idk i feel so demotivated and i haven’t done anything with my island since i bought it on release, it’s been barren forever and it just doesn’t make me happy at all, i don’t know if a restart could help me get motivation or just repel me from the game all together

you shouldn't worry too much about what the map looks like because pretty maps don't necessarily translate into pretty islands, you want to design the single-screen sized spaces on a macro level to give them a cute/cosy feel

I like to make a first floor (something like 10x10 you can alway make it wider or smaller) then cut a path in the middle or something in there, with some twists.

@woven drift our maps are pretty similar (my RS is a bit farther away though). I would try not to think of your RS as the "central" part of your island. you dont need to make a grand entrance from your airport to the resident services~ hope that helps

@static pasture rocks need a 3x3 space to spawn, as soon as you make a space big enough for it it’ll reappear the next day.

@fallen hare definitely possible! i personally like keeping nooks and ables close together out of convenience, you can do a similar treatment as your neighborhood but with the shops instead. if you dont have a plan for the bottom left area of your map that might be a good place to put them!
