Hey everyone! I hope this is the right channel to post in since I couldn’t find one that was closer to what I need. I have a decent amount of time in the game and I really want to start utilizing the rest of my island. I haven’t used much of it because it’s inconvenient and the cliffs (3rd level) are horribly placed. That’s easy enough to solve of course. But my issue is that I’m not sure what I want to do and terraforming isn’t my forte. Any advice?

This is the island design I've been working on so far. I've only just got around to starting to terraform and move everything (I took ages to decide, and now I'm paying so much money to move everything). =_=

The north strip of the island houses the player housing. It also features the museum and will have the camping site in the north-east, just west of the right-most player house.

The south-west of the island will be the residential area. It will house six villager houses, with another three more to the very south of the map and one slightly more north.

The middle I am working out. I am wanting to fit in an orchard, a park, gardens, and a music stage.

The south-east will have all the services moved around there in a more orderly fashion, with room for further buildings if Nintendo decides to screw me over in that regard.

I'm just trying to figure out right now whether I want the residential houses as they are, or have the two rows of three more uneven (so for instance the top row being in the gaps between where I've marked).
I've been using the pathways to try and figure out design.

So far, I only really have the very north strip of the island worked on....
