@woven drift all you have to do to get a three star island is take all the furniture you have stored and put it outside in random places of the island. You might then need to make some fences, but you should be good after that. My placement of furniture didn't look nice, but since I had a lot of furniture set up, it pushed me to a three star island quickly

@sweet lotus Try turning it into a forest area. Section off an area for it with country fences and stuff it will greenery such as pine trees, weeds, cosmos. If you’re willing to time travel you can skip to November to get the mushroom furniture as well. I hope this helps!!
