Okay I need help with my island. I don’t like it AT. ALL. and really want to kind of redo and reorganize everything. But I’m a little sick. So I have an orchard where my heart ponds are, and then one to the right of my marker. So I’m thinking of moving the house to my left so that I can reserve the space for more orchards but then I don’t know if I want to redo my neighborhood by moving everyone to the top left or if I want to redo the bottom right and move people there. Either way some people will have to be in both areas, I just don’t know if I should start with the area that has tons of space or the area that’s super full and has a fuck ton to do first...

@hushed tapir It's pretty but maybe lacks a bit of character? I don't know what the rest of your island looks like but you might want to try and pair it to that so it's uniform. Like if you're going for an Asian theme, add a bit of imperial or zen fencing, bamboo, lion dogs, lanterns. Or if you want something more rustic the evergreen trees, log benches/fence, stumps, camp lanterns and signs... and so on.

@round storm There are some custom QR paths that can reduce it, but unfortunately even then there will usually be a thin line of grass. You might just want to use the actual pool item with stone or wood or whatever under it if you don't want to see it at all. (https://villagerdb.com/item/pool)

@languid jungle I know some people who have actually traded out villagers they like for someone else, then hunted down the original character again to get their "real" house instead of the crappy starting ones. Might be worth? If not you could just work those into a "normal" neighborhood area with cute little yards/flower gardens and such.

I think a lot of your curved paths in your new design won't look as good in game. Since you can't make actual diagonal lines, they're more like rounded corners that don't look that good in a row. Otherwise looks neat

@gleaming storm depends on where it is, if you want trees lining the sides I like 3 wide more cause then you won't have tree in your face, but I also really like 2, so it's a preference, if you use 2 you'll have more space for other stuff in your town

hi, i was just hoping for some idea suggestions, i want my island to have a theme of secret government experiments done there. i am planning to leave most of it as nature with only a few parts having scientific equipment type stuff. right now my favorite part is that ive caught ~50 fish and stacked up their tanks in one area, so its like test subject storage. besides that i got satellite dishes, solar panels, caution signs, a generator. ive only been playing for a week so i dont have much items yet, the only other ideas i have are to make a helicopter landing pad, orchard with biohazard signs, maybe some sort of alien stuff. if any ideas come to mind that fit this theme, please let me know, thanks 😄

this is what i have for the beginning of my island so far. i’ve been lacking in creativity but i was able to muster this up.
i know that i’m still missing the rest of the blue/white roses to cover up the fountain area and the flowers to outline the path as well as some more decoration near the museum/able sisters are, but i was hoping for some feedback
