The best place to look at star.
I like the ones on the left :3
Added the little tikes car for the twins to use for deliveries
It goes 5 miles an hour but they make it work
Did you make the roof
Yes, in fact I raised the floor by one level and then I put a pattern on the floor in the same style as the roof.
I’ve never seen anything like that that’s really creative
Thanks !
Asking for help with deciding what to do with my island. I’ve had it for years and just have never developed it. I have a lot of ideas, but I’m too indecisive to settle on anything.
I know I want the area circled in blue to be my campsite, the area circled in yellow to be a farm, and the area circled in red to be a dig site for the museum. I’m wondering if the area circled in green would be good for a neighborhood. Just not sure how to implement it.
I want to keep the heart shaped pond at the top because that came with my island naturally. I also have a path straight from the airport to the center of the courtyard
I’m open to moving any of the buildings that aren’t circled!
Definitely too early to be building a pool deck but I'm doing it anyway 😆 WIP!
current map of solros, been working so hard on the terraforming for days. mostly filler terraforming left and a lot of decorating. wanted to do something that would be both super functional but something that would also look nice ☺️
very cute so far !!
Some pictures of my builds on @steep tide ‘s Slumber island
This game mode has truly been so much fun, and I’m excited to play and practice terraforming.
Also thank you to everyone who’s been sweet enough to host and compliment my work :’3 💕
Hope to post more soon✨
edit: I always forget to take pics so next time I gotta get a proper one of the rainbow garden I made here!
“Whose dish in on the chopping block?”
So along with this idea, I was wondering if there's any 1x1 items than could fit at the corners of castle walls to link them nicely. 2x2 towers are a bit excessive.
Having the neighborhood there isn't a bad idea at all, but I would (PERSONALLY) plan to extend the area significantly :). My thought is, you want 10 houses, each house is 4x4 tiles, and each square on the island is 16x16 tiles. Then add 2 for a yard, and then another 2 for some paths, which would mean 6-ish homes at best there. And it's a bit conservative TBH if you want any landscaping in my experience.
is there anyone i can chat to about island design help? dms open
I'm struggling to fit more than 3 per square but that might be a "me" problem LOL 😅 . I find it super helpful to draw my plans first, at least just the basics, counting tiles per building, and so on. (used https://eugeneration.github.io/HappyIslandDesigner/ above, but Photoshop etc works too)
Help how? Advice, input or full-on help with drawing and "doing" the work?
can i dm
my updated island map! still decorating but I’ll post a few pictures of the actual island in a bit ☺️
a little look at the neighborhood 💕
Which way looks better guys?
in my opinion, gray cube
Okay tysm!
I think with this it'll look better
i wish this fence existed in acnh man
it would fit so perfectly in my way path!
Well there exist one apparently, but i like the iron fence better! What do you guys think? ◕‿◕
I honestly like the iron fence, it's a good contrast from the brick pathing
Any ideas on what I could put or do in this lil gap?
is this busstop area cute? i feel like something is off pls help!
kinda not feeling the stall behind seats. I would get rid of it
great concept tho I like the idea with the pillar and plant
ty!
I don’t think the beaches are big enough so I’m making more
This is so great! I love it so much!
Have you consider the castle walls?
need ideas for what to put on these cliffs
Started my Zelda reference forest :3
Valentine’s Day set up, I should host a party 🩷
Little glowing shrine area for Ione (ignore me hiding behind the tree 🌳).
wow! thats beautiful
I’m looking for a custom design path that looks good over a default path. The way that the corner is sticking out is driving me crazy. I’m not sure if I should just get rid of the default path below it..
this is a cute alternative, but it looks like youre looking for ones with inside corners right?
this one has inside corners and matches the vanilla style :3
glowing moss pond!!
I guess I am looking for ones with inside corners! I never knew what to call them haha
Worked on a little fairy garden this afternoon 🧚
I NEED THAT
i looooove shopping for custom designs sm :D i find most of them off pintrest if anyone else has trouble finding good paths ^-^
Thank you for your recommendations!
Oh that's so good
hiya! I need some advice on what to do with this kinda awkwardly-weird space I have between the hotel/beach and my island's little "shopping precinct" 😅 there's a picture of the map as well, for reference
(the house/s on the beach are all being moved, my island is a wip 🤩)
my island's called Indigo so you can imagine the theme i'm going for.... purple! and blue too hehe, but i'm going for purple and blue accessories rather than everything being the one colour 💀
May I ask what’s the code for the custom design please? Thank you!
That sounds lovely! What about a playground/park? Or a market stall area?
Thank you so muchh
Anyone has a juminocore Island theme?
Trying out a little playground and making a hopscotch
My entrance fountain!! ⛲️
Hi everyone! I'm struggling decorating my islands right side river mouth. I want to do a bridge and waterfalls with my museam on the second level somewhere behind it. I cant find very many options on Pinterest or Google image and I don't have time to watch YouTube videos. Although there isn't very many side river mouths on there either! If y'all have pictures of your side river mouth id appreciate the inspo! 🫶
This is all very W.I.P but i wanna know if this is giving off the right vibe.
What theme does this entrance make you think of? (if it helps i plan to line the cliffs with medieval building sides in Ivory, Blue, and maybe Pink, in place of the castle walls)
-# Ive never really tried a busier theme than like general normalcore so i just hope its getting across well
Super cute! I have never seen a fountain set up this way before. What pattern did you use for the tiles?
@nookling thank you so much! It took me a while to design
for the tiles I just searched mosaic / tiles on the custom design portal - I’m not sure who the creator is
4 years since I’ve played. This is my property
Looking for inspiration for the layout of villager homes .. saw them in a circle, thought that was different!
im still trying to design my island where did you get the fairy type items ?
im still kinda new
Progress on my playground!
So cute!
Kinda diggin' this archaeology site
Very cute! Also I loved your little hopscotch video in the media channel
simple lil orchard, flowers and stuff to be added ☺️
i'm planning to put mine lining the river flowing into my "downtown"
Ok I’m curious what you mean by this, my island flag is a junimo lol
cant imagine the time it took for those rocks well done! very pretty
Juminocore is an aesthethic look it up on Pinterest or TikTok
👀 ah ok! Haha I’ll have to, sorry I’m a bit out of the “core” loop
Its okayy but it's very cute worth checking. Im sure u will like it :33
Used resetti and then flattened my island to start the island I’ve always dreamed of making!
took like all day yesterday to figure out what to do for this… but I did my entrance area and made my plaza look like a castle entrance
omg, that's sooo stunning!! do u have a DA, by any chance?
would love to visit
i do! its 5003-0643-7789 :D there are some presents scattered around the island along with some by the entrance, have fun!
My rock garden that I finally finished after three days
Just finished my meadowcore entrance! Got inspo from Ellen on Pinterest 💚🍃
hi guys ! does anyone have tips on terraforming and decorating islands ? I’m trying to design my fairycore/cottage core island but I’m feeling discouraged because a lot of the inspos I’ve seen are so beautiful and intricate and I’m just a beginner🥺… idek how to start designing a layout either lol
Cat paws with mini cat head water build 😽
After a few days and a couple of changes/redesigns of areas I’ve (I think) finished the basic layout of my island! (I’ll eventually have enough to build all the inclines and bridges lol) ^^ not sure which of the remaining houses I’m putting where yet, and might have to move a few others around but I can’t until I have the last two villagers I want
Hey everyone! Thoughts on my flower walkway to my house, 🖤🤍 or ❤️🤍?
Adding a little color to my beach
Cute!! I love the big vine, I just wish it changed color with the seasons
waitttt! I kinda love the idea of making it a park! Oooh, thank you for the inspo
Would anyone like to kinda steer me in the right direction with my island...I have a lot of bells I can give for the trouble. I can show my campsite to give an idea for the theme if you all like
Does it bother anyone else that the colors of the stones are so different? 😅
made a pretty big neighboorhood lol
The slumber islands are so awesome for planning stuff out even when you don't own all the items you need yet
I loveeee can I use for inspo 🥹
sharing a small part of the beach i've just finished
💛
Hello my dears!
I wanted to design a nice spot on my island for all the Zelda Items 🙏 a spot covered in trees with the master sword in the middle as eye catcher or something like that.
Does someone has a bit of inspiration content? I am not that creative myself 😂😭
secret ladder to an apartment patio
OML THAT LOOKS AMAZINGGG
Istg could you maybe help me with my theme pleaseee lol. I'm going for Halloween and I'm so losttt
These are some cute ideas I found on Pinterest! :>
Oop wrong person
@torn holly
All good
These are before the 3.0 update but I still think you could just add the new items
Is this possible? I want to recreate it
I had another master sword placement idea
Does anyone have a inspo pic with a viewing platform above a forrest?
Maybe it's a slumber island? That many rocks certainly isn't possible on a normal island.
It's probably that since a lot of mods are yet to be updated, and the screenshot has 3.0 items
You can move your rocks in a circle shape with enough space between each, but you can't have more than 6 rocks on your main island, and they can't appear so close from eachother. This screenshot, as Luke said, has been taken on a slumber island.
yesterday i finished planning out the layout for my island (pretty rough) but wanted to hear advice or suggestions from other people ! i would appreciate it alot
🙏 @storm crest @worn mountain Looks really nice. Thank you guys! ^^
Wanted to also add a waterfall, but then I realized if you add one more height-level you can't go onto it 🥲
Would have to destroy a whole mountain 🙃
What size you recommend?
Probably medium. I did this on a small island, and thats fine but there isn't much room to try out anything else really.
Plaza lead-up
I might mess around with a few other ideas, but I like this one so far
Need help with my city entrance >_<
i just terraformed my island with this design, need help planning out where things will go/ what certain areas should be (here’s some inspo) if anyone wants to help out
I know, and like what is the point of Small?
I need island ideas what theme/aesthetic would you guys recommend for villagers like Olivia, Diana, Flora, Gwen, Pashmina, Reneigh, Monique, Gloria, Alli, and Amelia?
Working on a little flea market
Got bored and built Celeste a space area near the museum and put some space stuff on the beach for a bit of a reference to gulliver being an astronaut originally
Lil flower shop
A few parts of my castle
Clay got a little creative 🤭
I’m stealing this idea now and making it an art market instead
I worked on my entrance today and my little flower garden I'm only missing three flowers I'm so excited to finish it and I'm posting two pictures of the train because I'm not sure if it looks good I tried
Also I made the train tracks pattern myself because I couldn't find a pink one that I liked online and yea if anyone can say some input if using the box trucks as the train cars make sense because logically it kind of does since the truck part is blocked by the cliff but in my head I can still tell that theyre box trucks lol
anyone got advice on what to put here, its right next to the plaza. was thinking something practical if possible but filler also works
Oh what a cute little area maybe you can put some small garden like the rock garden or flowers or a community space since it's next to the plaza like a miniature park
It's a really nice spot I like all the variation of vegetation around
that could work, i was thinking rock garden but i can put that in a more dedicated area
and i appreciate it im only like 30% done w my island
It has so much potential to be a lot of different things really I typically suggest people check Pinterest because there's so much beautiful and creative inspirational builds posted there that you can tweak to make ityour own
I found a lot of filler ideas from there because I was stumped on what to put between the more major areas I had pre-planned
well yeah i planned on checking pinterest but i was seeing if anyone had specific ideas then i could look for those and narrow it down
Mhm makes sense ^^ best of luck, it looks amazing so far
A little picnic and movie spot would be cute! Or picnic and crafts, like painting and clay art
Little post/mail spot just beside resident services! Might try to decorate it a little more but eh
i can help
i like to think i know how to decorate lol
Yes pleasw!
wanna dm and discuss more there?
Sures! Im about to sleep but ill definitely sray up a lil longer for ideas
what is that bright blue flower? It's so pretty !
Would anyone be willing to help me with my island?? It's a mess at the moment and I don't know how I want to design it😅😅
It was a gift from someone with the new Zelda amiibo stuff, it's the Silent Princess flower from the games
Which one you guys like better?
React with 🧱 for Silo
React with 🌬️ for Windmill
This is beautiful holy crap
Didn't really do much more to it, since it's a small spot - just a few extra pieces for some extra clutter
Judy’s area finished !
🩷
How did you turn the camera like that?
I'm having such a hard time starting landscaping in winter but I also don't wanna wait months 😭
My little café thing :3
you put the camera mode > right joystick up > right joystick left or right
Doesn’t work : (
Is your switch maybe slightly modified 🧐
nooo haha i have the very old switch 1 🥹
I have a switch lite 😭
Does anyone want to help with the overall design/layout of my island? I suck ass at it and right now it's a big mess
try any camera angle where the camera is higher than your character
Omg ur right ty (idk y ur comment got deleted 😭)
then put the joystick to the left or the right
Can someone help me think of a layout that seems good? I am really bad with terraforming and figuring out what would look best on certain height levels.
Update. Not sure if I made it better or worse
outdoor cat cafe!!
augh i have this empty space infront of my town hall that i have NO idea what to do with 💔 help is appreciated lol
OMG IM IN LOVEEE WOW
Just a row of Storefronts. Adds a lot to the pier
TTYYY
Bob and Raymond walks in
near the front of mine i added some instruments for like a live band set up and sometimes my villagers use them and sing there!! u could also set up a small cafe or make use of a tiny library etc for a small reading area? i also kept some space for christmas trees/easter decorations etc depending on the season
How did you decorate your pier?
i havent added anything to my pier yet i dont know what to add T_T but in fromt of the cafe i added a bistro table + wooden stools and a fortune cookie cart (bistro table on left side and cookie cart on right side) so that the path to the hotel was still clear
Picture?
i can send one soon!! im just eating breakfast haha so i will get back on my switch soon
We went with a similar layout!
yayay thank you!!
thats so nice i like how the umbrella matches
The nostalgia oh my god

Ohhh my god may I use this as inspo? I'd like to make something similar on my own beach

Of course!
i’m starting to design my island but i’ve come to a complete stop. i’m not sure if i even like it anymore so would love if someone could help? or give ideas
How do we feel about my Lon Lon ranch from Zelda? Any ideas?
maybe you could add some plants to it
I might actually do that, i could fit a tree and a couple bushes maybe
sharing this little grove i made recently 💖
im not that good at island designs but i quite like it
hi, it's me again
i think the code is wrong? (i still enjoyed it very much lol, very cute island! but
it wasn't the one from the pics haha)
Working on my hotel dock!
Thank you!! I was really going for a retro kind of peak childhood summer pool deck vibes
@silver jetty omg did it look like this at the entrance? if so thats my old island and i'll have to update my da 😅
how big do you guys make your villager's "yard"?
Me personally I just decorated outside their house a bit and fenced it in. Just 2-3 squares out from the front probs
But I've seen quite a few players make yards from the side and do a 1-2 block gap in the front, 5x4 on the side? If i had to assume
If that doesn't make much sense i apologize I just woke up from a nap
i just gave them a lil stone path and some flowers and called it a day tbh 💀
hi hi, does anyone wish to share pics of their villagers’ yards? i’m currently working on mine after being away for years.
looking for inspo using the retro transportation stop item~
Mine is probably not the vibe ur looking for but.. I just finished my train station entrance :3 so here are a few pics and I can send the inspo I used it’s a totally different theme than my island X_X
Newly built area!
Cute cute I need to get my hands on that lantern arch
Looking for some advice on where to go with this. I think I’m gonna do a museum design similar to image 3 (elevated museum, square design garden area with the historic pillars and cracked pillars surrounding the lower ground square garden area, and above the waterfall maybe a statue (terracotta soldier, david or the motherly statue). But where should I put the museum? Should it be to the left of the village? Or maybe in the top left corner?
I think to the top left of ur village makes more sense, around that little notch that's already in the terraforming
I'm planning out my first real full-island theme 🙂 it's based on hiking trails, I used red to show the intended path, and grey to show where I'll put trees or other things to force pathing. The sand colour on the river is where it'll waterfall (I needed it to keep track of my recessed creek). As I build, I'll make more "unintended paths" and secret little spots. Lmk if u have any ideas or see a good spot for secret stuff
Oh, and the buildings and shops have like streets and it's meant to be like a cul-de-sac neighborhood that has a random through trail behind it
Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I'd really appreciate it if those who want to answer could give me some ideas on where to place my buildings and the villagers' houses because I have absolutely no idea and I don't know where to start, to be honest.😅✨
Depends what u wanna do with ur island~ u could either have them together in a city/neighborhood type thing, or space them out amongst other builds to give them all their own unique build-space
Waterfall seat
Hey everyone!
I believe my island is at about 78% completion
I would love some feedback on everything and recommendations on how to make it better
My island will be open and you can roam every single inch of the island (ONLY THING I DEEPLY ASK is dont take anything from the ground or shake money trees
Everthing is specifically placed and needs to stay in place in order for the island to look its best)
There will be bells on the front beach (welcome area) as a thank you for visiting and helping out!! (Please only take one bag so everyone can benefit from the bells, if you need more you can ask.
Lastly, PLEASE DM ME YOUR THOUGHTS AND SUGGESTIONS!!
Status: Open (DODO - 85TCY)
old build (im stuck idk what else to add in my island yet) but this is my book shop :3
omg this is so similar to my aesthetic i love it, do you have more pictures??
This is my first time trying to make one of those fake bridges, any notes? I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing and am new to this lol, feedback appreciated
i dooo, ill show some here, but some of these are old and kinda change them now !! but mostly just minor things and relocated some areas elsewhere in my island +++ a lil photo of my living room
Hi! I’m planning to build two villages on my island. A blue+purple themed one and a sunflower+yellow+orange themed one. Can anyone recommend me furniture and ideas on what I can do?
Guys, I have an idea but I'm not quite sure
It feels like smth is missing
Nvm I figured it out lol
Does anyone have a train station and/or subway station on their island i could come look at for inspo? 😊
What do you guys think of this?
Very cool
I don't have that many items so I'm doing the best with what I do have
Dream Address? Zelda 1 is lit
This is amazing!
I'm trying to model my island after Koholint Island from Zelda: Link's Awakening, but areas had to be omitted because the island isn't big enough. This is my replica of the ancient ruins where the Southern Shrine is located.
How do you get those half walls in picture 4
theyre partition walls! also i just used camera angles and based the overall room layout on irl examples i found online
u can request the partition walls on the treasure islands or u can get them available once u complete the eight house design in happy home designer
Would that first picture be a replica of Ameyoko?
not exactly but i did base it on the shopping street pics in japan ive seen online, i just mash them all to get a general idea
I have paths like this. I want to make a platform with similar style/coloring. any ideas?
What's the item you use to replicate the entrance to Level 4?
This is the area, this is the best i can make this platform look and jt doesnt look good
SO CUTE
I’m looking for a design code for the rope railing in this picture ca. anyone help?
Made a flower garden with no inspiration from pinterest
I may redo this. Near the beach by the hotel is a large area filled with veggies and pumpkins. The circle island i may moved all my fruits to it in the future. I am not sure what to do exactly.
should i put another pond to the left of residence services
yeah it looks better without
I’m FAIRLY certain that rope railing is actually part of that wallpaper (if you knew that I’m sorry!) (and if you are looking for design code help #custom-design-help🎨 might be able to help you)
Does anyone have a tarot reading build for inspo? Or have you seen one? I’m looking for something that’s more than just a stall with items on it. Nothing too big though either, thanks in advance for any and all help!
My pier design
I'm afraid there's no Dream Adress because it was built in the new Dream Islands. Until Nintendo doesn't fix that, it'll just stay locked to myself and the friends/visitors who want to tour ir.
Our islands would indeed get along really well!
As for the item I'm using for the entrance of Level 4, it's this one:
"Glowing moss statue".
fort gyroid
as you can faintly see in the back they demanded i give them toys in the fort, so i did :P
it’s slowly but steadily coming together! 🥰
Definitely love the vibe
More LOZ please 🙏
Do you guys prefer with or without? The area is still missing items, I'm not done with it-
Hello, I think I logged in on my animal crossing world after about two years. Can someone help me give me tips and tricks I just got my building permit.
Thinking of straight up taking everything down, making it a flat island and starting from scratch?
It may be a bit confusing to decipher, but I tried to plan out my island
Hey everyone, I have a strange question because I would like to lay a road, but I'm a bit lazy and I don't feel like it (LOL). That's why I'm asking if anyone would be willing to lay this road over all this white sand. Of course, I would give you an ID and the price for all this would be 400k (the price is negotiable, I will raise it to a maximum of 500k). I hope someone will contact me and if anyone is interested, please write. Best regards, have a nice day or night :3
hi !! could anybody help me w this ? its a medium-ish spot next to sherbs house and my airport and im not entirely sure what to do w it. ive done a campfire near the campsite which is near the airport aswell,, and a farm is right next to it too so idk. any help would be nice !!!
edit ; found out what to do w it !! added a cliff layer and a table and i like it ^_^
made this little bathhouse beside kabuki's onsen on top of the mountain, adding to the zen area below so it looks like a multilevel house
I say with the sign, but I'm personally not a huge fan of the different color frames on your panels.
What island should I pick
I don't think other people can put paths/patterns on your island
Natural river on a slumber island
i even made a miniature neighborhood with all the play items but still have no clue what to do for my own neighborhood lol
Ooo I love this
Currently planning out the island- any ideas for teraforming or adding visual interest to the housing area?
I'm not either but I can't pick which frame to go with
I've tried both and still couldn't pick so they're mixed until I make up my mind lol
Thanks!
Would you guys say it’s worth flattening my island to start fresh? I saw someone planned out an island and it looks incredible I recently reset the island so it wouldn’t be very difficult to take out the trees and any furniture I have put down but it’s going to be difficult for moving houses etc
Money isn’t a problem either I do have a lot of money from turnips so I can easily sort out buildings and bridges/inclines
:3
hey does anyone have a japanese themed island i could take inspiration from? i'm planning on having both urban and rural parts to the island 🙂
Progress
I made an impulse decision. 💀 Anyway, im between the top left and bottom left i think?? What would y'all choose? Im going to be going for a fairy garden vibe when I eventually decorate
somethin about top left is doing it for me, i like that alot
Yeah i think im gonna go with that one, the vibes its giving are giving vibes
I would choose that one too, something about it gives me a vibe
If you're in a good position for it and you feel like you have the patience to do so, I say why not? Seems like a good opportunity, but also there's nothing wrong with not having a super aesthetic island :)
It's faster to use Resetti to reset everything, you just have to demolish any terraforming you made prior
Even though he's costly
If you haven’t done much on your island then it could be helpful if you want to make plans! Just be wary some people get overwhelmed when it’s completely flat because the blank canvas puts people off altogether
Trying to figure out what to do with the right river circled in picture. Not sure if I should connect it to the top..
I like the butterfly lake!
looking for some house exterior ideas, like terraforming
im scrolling pinterest for like 2 days and can't find anything..
just gave me anything yall.. im desperate at this point
Thank you!! I just found it on google today!
Okay, this has been me the past 4 days.
It’s been hard. I need to work on getting Leopold to leave though
Does this look like decent terraforming for my first time?
i did reset of my island last month and since last month i cant figure out how to terraform and decorate my house exterior
lowkeyim getting tired
fr
Hi lovelies, I’m in search of some more ideas for my island. At the moment I’ve made a village area, museum foyer and park space in front of. But am now a little stuck on what else to do in my island, there isn’t much space between the airport and residential office space any tips or sketches would be greatly appreciated 😭❤️
Does anyone know how to make a fake house that I can still decorate?
Add another person on your switch and in the game, they will have a house to decorate under that profile and once it’s decorated you can just not log into that profile
Trying to build a Renaissance Faire island. Anyone got any design ideas or anything that could help me make the best ren fair island ever?
I want to reset but… I have soooo much stuff that I don’t want to lose
How does “adding someone” to your island work? First im hearing of this.
Play with a different Account - One Switch only has one Island, so other profiles join as "Villagers" with their own house on the Island of the main profile User
Ooh ok
Hii, I'm picking up the game again after like a year off, anyone have ideas on decorating my neighborhood? The pathway down it is 4 tiles between the houses and the canal
I might borrow that canal idea I love it-
It's super pretty! I'll try to get a good picture of it but it leads up to my shopping and a post office area I'm working on
I’m gonna try and do a waterfall behind my town hall
Thoughts?
There's a little tip spot infront of the raccoon statue kinda like those neko ones
super cutex3
with restiti you can reset your island and keep your stuff 🙂
guys what do you do when theres two island themes you wanna do. I started a pink christmas island awhile ago and didnt get very far. now I really wanna start a japanese island
dude how did i forget you can customize fences (not my image, found on pinterest)
My christmas island i've barley started, but I dont wanna reset it bc its the only island ive ever had with a perfectly lined up entrance lol
So I can still decorate that house?
But will the house be on the main island to once I add the profile?
I went through the process of starting a fresh island on another switch. picked out a name and all that. then I realized the process of starting over with no furniture sucks so bad. i'll just start decroating on a slumber island for now
I know but, I want to move my Resident Services too.
Almost have my museum area completed!
Any ideas for an island theme? I decided to flatten and my island name is Ruellia from when I tried Japanese island. Ruellia is a type of flower so the first thing thats comes to mind is plants, nature and outdoors etc.
I wanna try a Japanese island for my first time, so here’s what I’ve been cooking on a slumber island
Lk forgot about the slumber islands
But I like that! I might try it leaning a bit more into the plant side of things
i get it, had the same problem 4 years ago before my first reset, i completed most of the nook tasks, did all hotels in pradise planning, i had many MANY diys, but i was soo bored i still did the reset. rn im on my 4th island
set resetti loose on my island so im redecorating - worked on the entrance to my island tonight (terribly difficult to get it all in frame but this gives you the main idea), thoughts?
My little wip outdoor onsen. Does anyone have any codes for an extension of storefront wood planks thats NOT the only one i can find on pinterest? Its bugging me that theres so many different wood colours 😩
Loveeee it!!!!!
This is the current version of Denm-Arceus. I’m not fully satisfied with the quality of the artwork, but the main issue is that I can’t place the second cliff tier directly next to the ground level.
This means I have to sacrifice a lot of the light-green color for the medium green, which hurts the overall quality of the images...
does anyone have any springcore island ideas besides froggycrossings 30 day challenge from 2022? 🥲
I'm not sure what to do with my island but I'm leaving the higher parts of the island as natural wildlife takeover ( plants trees and a small area of a stargazing area I have) does anyone have any advice?
i did the same in one area at the back and made it a ruins type of place with castle items and vine diys~ the zelda items really added to it too imo
Thanks im going for a bit more nature look, also im on the original switch so i dont know if I can get the zelda items ( I dont any amiibos and so on) sorry for late response I took a 4 hour nap.
I’m a beginner at this island design stuff (I’ve been playing for years tho) and I have no clue what to do in this area. (I just hope it looks decent)
any ideas for rivermouths? i don't have much space near my river mouth for a bridge but wouldn't want closed mouth either...
what i did was putting stuff like a log table, some log chairs, a fire for roasting marsmallows, you know, the things you have if you go camping. Ive seen some very cute ones with the kids tents, pinterest has some inspiration
Thanks!
np, happy to help while i browse for ideas lol
hi there! i'm working now on my island and i have a big doubt about two houses.
The first picture is how my island looks now, the second is "what i am going for".
i am uncertain about those two houses under the ponds on the right side of my map. the only thing i know, is that i want those two houses to be separate from others, as my two fav piggy villagers are living there
but as it is on the path of a plane, i'm not sure if those houses are the thing i want to "showcase"
do you think it's a good idea, or should i move them somewhere else? if moving is an option - where?
would be gratefull for any advices!
I’m getting somewhere lol I marked down where my paths are but they’re just default paths. I’m gonna design some sort of paths and customize it more but otherwise haha
I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on how to make my terraforming mostly just in this area look more natural
I’m trying to make it like a little hidden cove with some glowing moss but I literally just unlocked terraforming like yesterday or the day before 😅
Slumber island thing
cute!!
Started over from scratch. Love how my island is turning out
Working on my island renovation
Kind of at a roadblock rn. Somewhat burnt myself out
Kinda of a similar vibe to what I want, looks cool!
What if u took those two rivers, connected them and had a little heart shaped island to match your heart shaped pond?
Sorry for crappy penmanship but I imagined like this
Obviously not that messy and big but YOU GET THE IDEA
Oh yeah i should have mentioned I don’t have terraforming unlocked yet
YOU GOT THAT HEART POND BY LUCK???????
Hi everyone! So I'm an absolute moron, I decided to indeed have Resetti get everything off my island and now I am completely clueless where to start and have no motivation to do so. I plan on leveling the whole island (~75% done) and decorating it from there. Only problem is I am unsure how to place builds/areas without them being super awkward and out of place. I've never been the best at terraforming or decorating, but I'd love to learn, I'm just not sure how! If anyone has any tips on how to place builds, make paths and trinket items look good, how to place buildings well, make realistic cliffs and rivers or any sort of wishlist items/holy grails for decorating I'd be very very greatful!! If anyone has a lot of tips/items to share please don't hesitate to dm me <3 :)
This is so peak what the heck 😭
How are you doing that 🤯
So much time spent looking for path codes and design inspiration on Instagram and YouTube. & then I just went for it and didn’t stop!!
Anyone have ideas for where to put villager houses?
The red circles are where I dont like the location of; that blue dot is where my 10th plot is going.
I dont like punchy being all alone on that cliff on the left, but if i put another house there the left side of the house would be in line with a cliff.
Any ideas?!
I haven't done much terraforming or water scaping yet, im just hoping to get buildings placed and then do that after, but happy to edit to make a house fit, I just want to avoid spending hours terraforming at this stage lol
Maybe put the 3 houses below the top set? So thare all close together like a little neighborhood
Yeah I was kinda going for like a fairy garden type situation so I dont want it super uniform but like i also want bridges accessible!
Like if I add another house on that first cliff near that first set of stairs, it'll block the view of the house behind it😭
Ill circle where I was thinking
Mm what if you do them in a circle like how the circle of mushrooms are related to fairies, the name is slipping my mind ATM lol
So i was thinking I could terraform the cliff and pond to be able to fit one of the houses on that yellow X, but then theres the one up on the cliff, its directly in line with my bridges (see yellow path) so it makes it annoying to go around, and I haven't even decorated around it yet!
Wait maybe?? Lemme try
If you wanna dedicate a large area to your villager houses you can add in a moon pond and have the houses circling it with the mush items and the star items, that would look pretty
Like that??? I could make the pond smaller but I just dont know if that bottom house is gonna block view of the one behind it
This would be so pretty 😭
I kinda wanted to do something similar for the museum
That would look super pretty to
I might just put these 3 houses on the beach and go mess with shiiiit😭😂
Honestly mood
Cause I could make the cliff side on the left bigger, make the highest cliff bigger and boom
I put all mine in 2 lines of 5 and called it a problem for future me
Hahahahah
My last island was very small town city vibes so I had a suburb; this island i want a giant garden
Ok this is what my brain has come up with but again idk if that X on the very left is gonna block view of the house behind it, id have to have it far enough in front
I think that might work, tho you might have to trial and error placement until it doesn't block
Yeah I think so, and then punchy is still up there alone 😂
What have i done lol
I hate how the game has you place sooo much before you can terraform
Frr and then how everything is centered on a like 2 center tile and the museum is 3 across so it doesn't line up with a 4 tile path
Dont even get me started😂😭😭😭😭
I had to go and redo like half my island just cus of that 😭😭😭
Finally remodeling my entire island. Mountain areas in the north (plus campsite and neighborhood), city proper in the south.
Moving houses and relocating it is gonna take DAYS since I don't time travel in this game
I’m not sure how to turn this into a sunken in neighborhood some of my villagers cuz I want them to have their own sections as well
How the heck am I supposed to use custom paths???
I feel like something about my pond is off? The center part has a gazebo on it but I might swap it out
Finally feeling inspired enough to redo parts of my island!
did this area earlier.
Maybe pond around the gazebo
my flyover as of rn :)
How do I remove the snowmen when I'm reshaping my island?
You gotta let them melt away first unfortunately
Renovations for today. I expanded the carnival and relocated the seaside café and honey stall.
nooooooo 😭
Thank you anyway 😄
Daisy Mae, Annalisa and myself out shopping on the market!
What’s the fruit bowl item called? 🤩
Yeah haha
I only have two stars unfortunately
Time to slap down furniture until you hit that golden 3 lmao!!!!
I’m trying to remodel the neighborhood area I had cause it looked rlly bad, I have this much space but Im struggle with ideas for what to do there since its next to the plaza
There will be 4 houses over there btw
this is my island plan + current island! suggestions for filler builds are welcome, its kind of forestcore/normcore vibes i think idk what those words mean tbh. anyway
Tryna think of new areas to put on my island now that I'm remodeling it. So far I got a pond, park with playground, zoo (dont worry about it 😈), zen garden, astronomy area, toy store, bakery, and orchard with farm. I still have room left... any ideas?
You could do a post office I had one on my island and it was really pretty
Ahhh i wanted to but there's no way to move villagers mailboxes. I guess it could just be mine but eh...
I got the school lockers and a custom design that looked like mail boxes and made it as a place to get larger packages
Thats honestly adorable. Good idea
It was super cute I'll have to rebuild it so I can get a picture to send here I had to move it cus of the museum
The item is called Fruit Basket 💓
I am currently reorganizing my island into 5 distinct districts
i have my post office with just mine in, i can send a photo if u want?
I have the Emojis mark what is each circle gonna be. Purple is Town/City Core. Red is gonna be a Japanese garden mixed with a Western Cathedral that is a mash-up of a Japanese Castle. Blue... an amusement park with an orchard/farm field
like why do I always end up with making farms next to theme parks
That is so cute omg
I like the immersion of the inside and outside with the Storefronts
I suggest some windows and a back to support it
Try Market Stalls
i was thinking that, but if u see underneath there is going to be my market stall area, i want them to look distinct from eachother
i really like it!!! i like the distinct themes for the areas u got going on
i really want to do something japanese-style but i just cant wrap my head round how to make it look nice
Forest
Hey hey! So I'm finally starting to design my island, I like a more natural look but I'm also enjoying having little areas/sections like a outdoor cafe (merengue being the baker and Tia being the drink seller)
I have an orchard as well along with a garden by my own house
I'm really wanting to make my villagers a part of these areas too, but I'm a little stuck thinking on some ideas
Once I have kabuki on my island I'm gonna make a bamboo and sorta Japanese themed area as well
With Ione I'd love to create a more starry like mythical area
Don’t know if this helps, but here are some of the villager areas I’ve made: Lily’s lily pad garden, Ione’s starry shore, Blanche’s bamboo forest, Genji’s sugarcane farm, Coco’s picnicking area and potato garden, Chester’s flower fields, Maple’s bear reading nook, Octavian’s orchard.
Ooooo thank you for sharing! They're all absolutely beautiful :0
I love seeing people's works for inspiration :D
Oo do you have the design code for the ones with the letters sticking out? Ide love to use them!
I’ve been doing that haha im a little nervous with getting terraforming bc im a horrible builder and I don’t wanna ruin my island
Does anyone have an idea of what I could put here to fill this space? I’m terrible at designing
Here’s what I’ve been cooking on a slumber island. This is my experimenting for my pink Christmas Island. What do we think? I did the area on top of the inclines last night
A fountain!
Expanded my kpop shop to a kpop store I love it!
Can someone tell me what this is behind the string lights and pitcher
beach fair in the evening
Storefront!
A fountain or small garden area, seating area!
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8P7raCs/ hey yall! i made a tiktok dedicated to builds on my island. drop a like and follow if you like
Storefront
got some more work done
I should try and do a normcore island one of these days lol. Play the game like normal. Don’t use treasure islands to get my furniture and stuff lol
I’m trying to fill a space with a pond/lake, but I want to make one in a unique shape that isn’t a heart/moon/star/etc. Anyone have any grids or inspo?
Hello all which one looks better?
Zen bridge for sure! It fits the overall vibe :3
The zen bridge, in my opinion.
Thanks guys!
Especially with the rocks & the flowers nearby!
Zen for sure!!
anyone from/visit santa cruz, california? i'm trying to make my island inspired from there and am struggling to make a layout because i have two southern rivers! from one local to another sos ❤️
- can pay in bells/nmt/etc. in exchange!!
Sorry for some not so great photo angles lol
Anyone able to give me feedback on my campsite??
If its terrible please say so😂😂😂
Im learning!
Also wanting any advice/feedback on my airport entrance!!
It looks so pretty! How about adding some bushes?
fence might be nice too
For some reason I can’t get these bridges to be symmetrical, does anyone know how to fix this?
I swear I must've forgotten bushes existed😂 yes great idea thank you!!!
Where would you add a fence do you think? Like along the front of the cliff or?
Would it be okay if I draw over your photo to show you?
Can I see y’all’s produce garden designs? I need inspo
I have so many bell bags just laying around my island LMAOO
I mean, now that we have Slumber Island and can make up to 4 different Islands, I might just test run a couple different ideas before resetting my main island.
this is so pretty
what’s the code for the custom design on the wooden signs?
I made it hehe
I haven’t made the custom design creator ID yet, so I’ll do that later and let you know!
oh wow!!
that’s so cool! that sounds great, thanks!
some of my fave spots on my island:-) (ignore how i’m still missing a bridge in pic #2… im doing inclines and bridges last LOL)
lmao i forgot about slumber islands feature
yes hold on!! so sorry this is late
Done with my Great Deku tree and Sword area :D
(I'm not that good at decorating like other people but I tried ;-;, it's 1 of my 2 decorated areas...)
Ghis looks amazing, I love the stone 'path' and the Great Deku tree looks perfect
:D
I need build ideas for my gothic/horror island! So far I have
-Graveyard build
-Abandoned buildings/shops
-Black flower garden
What I need
-Filler builds
-Big builds
-Entrance idea
If you have any pictures/idea I’d love to look into them.
What item is the deku tree? I think it looks fantastic!
If anyone needs beach inspiration, this is what I've done on my shores
a custom art thingy I found
What item is the custom art on?
I don't remember what it's called but it's a wooden thing thing with a hole and you can stand behind it and look like something depending on the image
you don't need the item, you get the image and just go to designer and display it
@sullen anvil
trying to find a clearer image
Oh! I see thanks
yw!
Hey I'm looking for the Castle Items to catalog
also hoping to find someone help me plan a design for my island! i can give as many bells/flowers/furniture, etc!
If I really can’t figure out a layout with my current island, that I like, I’ll have to reset.
That would be amazing!!
good luck
No problem! Tysm!
Does anybody have any cat cafe inspiration? I'm working on a design for one but it's not coming together how I'd like. 🙁 (unfortunately I'm basically out of design slots so I can't do a ton of custom stuff, womp womp)
It’s not a great drawing but how about this?
Is anyone able to help me plan a design for my cottagecore island? I really want to try to get a start on it but I’m really bad at planning a design 😅 happy to help with other services in return!
can anyone share some ideas of an entrance where the resident services is pretty close to the entrance & to the right? thanks
Thats a good idea!! Thank you❤️❤️❤️
my stargazing neighborhood (judy, ione, ruby and julian's houses) is coming together nicely, but i have no idea what to put in this empty area in front of it. does anyone have any space filler ideas that would fit? i'm not super happy with the terraforming/shape of the area either but i'm completely drawing a blank here 😔 where to add stairs is also undecided
Im in awh over how you captured perspectives with the river
can someone tell me why my last rock isnt spawning…..
ive looked all over my island thrice i cannot find it
Can someone help me come up with designs for my island? I feel like the island is so big idk where to put everything to utilize the space the best
My design idea on paper
Thank you
Thank you thank you! I’d love to see some photos of your island so far!
I have done something like this on my island and I used a lot of glowing moss and glowing moss items like the big pond to make the whole area glow in the dark✨️
Could someone help me out with a waterscape drawing map?? Id like to keep the layout (minus shops, can move those)
I like the idea of a river surrounding the museum because I want to do an ancient ruins vibes. Campsite needs to stay where it is along with the houses near my red marker
If anyone knows anyone who does this even as a commission im happy to pay!! Can also pay in bells or NMT :))
Minimal moving of bridges would be great but also willing to move them, ive just found naturally getting around the village the bridge placements are good
My entire island is completely empty right now besides the campsite and the airport entrance
Not as talented as most designers but here are some of my main areas
Gigajock Outdoor Gym progress
My WIP island 🥰
Looking good so far! :)
GOATED VILLAGERS
What's that bridge item in the first picture? I've never seen it before
From the Sanrio set!
ah thats why Ive never seen it 😭😭
Progress update
Im thinking im gonna re shape the piece of land the museum is sitting on by getting rid of thay bridge and finess the river
God this is tedious how do yall do it
Ah yes, it’s coming together nicely
I need help with my entrance! Island is simple forest themed with fairy, mushroom, and ancient tomb themed areas already. I have been removing my downtown section that was in this area, with shops and museums, could be replaced with something new or revitalized. I’m not super into forced perspective builds. Please someone send me an inspo pic or good idea!
This is mine! Its not perfect by aaaany means but I have the same kind of theme!
THANK YOU!!! wanting to replce Shino with Bones but otherwise I have all of mine
Map update, this is taking me so long 😅
these are mine
mini heart island looks so cute!
This looks so cozy!!
Thank you
Renovation's still ongoing. Managed to build a natural gazebo park where the fruit orchard and Cookie's house previously stand (she'll be moved to the new neigborhood area in the cliffs soon).
Also reworking on the meseum area.
still not finished but there u go
DA-8596-3549-7412
here's my dream adres from my first island, u can check it out
Not talented at all but here is a work in progress
Chat I have an empty space to fill. Shoot
Maybe a sitting area with some benches? Or since it seems very city core maybe bikes laying around. ORRRRR you could make it seem like the trash hasn’t been taken out, and there are garbage bins and bags over there
Yo guys what path looks better
- Suburban street
- Gravel
Gravel.
I like the 1 one more, adds more dimension. The second one looks flat :/
Yeah 1st one definetly
The leaves make it fit really well
Is anyone able to help me plan a design for my cottagecore island? I really want to try to get a start on it but I’m really bad at planning a design 😅 happy to help with other services in return!
My little picnic area that Im working on for my island
any ideas for museum area? 😵💫
This is the current state of my island. Not sure what I wanna do next as far as villagers locations/river locations. Any ideas would be niceee. Feel free to draw mockup ideas on the screenshot
The Nook twins hilltop for when they’re off work
Try to use planner websites. I haven't used them since 2020 but you can draw on some ideas of layouts on the animal crossing map using them
Can anyone share their shops placement/design? This is my map and where they are right now feels random.
I have mine in a hole (?) I'm not sure how to describe it but I place them on level one and then terraformed up around them
Slowly working on my island design but ive found something I really adore. Thoughts?
Anymore pics?
I fear this is about all I've done on the slumber island
I need some island design help
it’s split into 4 seasons. terraforming is subject to change. red shows what I’ve already planned, white is parts i don’t know yet.
i know I want a turnip farm somewhere but i can’t decide between winter, spring, and summer
i think spring would fit the best
i don’t want them right in front of resident services though, should i reserve that big plot next to it? or split it into turnips and smth else?
bamboo and turnips could be nice
ooo maybe I could do a sakura entryway, bamboo forest next to it, and i could maybe drop the turnips in that summer area at the front?
since it’s a nice rectangle
i’m really lost for fall and winter though
The problem is I’m not a visual person by any stretch so even if I use a website, I’d still have no idea what to do
Otherwise I would!
Island updates!
I cant tell if this needs another cliff right in that circle or if that would be too much lol
Or maybe trees and bushes instead of flowers?
I need help trying to flesh out my island😞 my first time trying to fully design it
Hey Guys I'm searching for some DIYs:
- Bamboo Bento
- Fruitbasket
- campfire Cookware (In case its DIY otherwise to catalog)
- Iron Coathanger
- Log Bench
- Fire Wood
And in case anyone has the Cornucopia double I would like to get one
It's best to search for DIYs in #diy-trade
I have a cornucopia I’ll dm you
Thank you for some reason it wouldn't show it to me i selected it again thank God its Back 🥲
How i decorated my dock/hotel 🚲
I feel this
You should have a place where all the fruit trees can grow like an orchard area
i'm looking for someone to design my map for me i have a list of thing i want on my island but really struggling with layout, can pay with pretty much anything in-game 🙂
I designed this for fun if anyone wants to take inspo!
What is the white shed item in the second photo?
Hey,
I am working on a fairytale island. Any idea how to create a Hensel and Gretel scene on the island? Or doesn’t anyone know any codes for creating the gingerbread house?
Wooden storage shed:) you can get one through nook miles after you've upgraded your house storage, and you can customize it
It allows you to access your home storage from it!
Hey I Just joined cause i wanted to start makeing my island look pretty i was wondering dose anyone have any tips for makeing your island look nice
First time decorating ✨💓
Looks so nice!! Love that second photo…so cuteee
Wanna be able to get this shed so badly but alas the debt 😭
When I get on later I can see if I have an extra if you want!!
Does anyone have any Ideas for island designs around the player home...I have decorated every last inch of my island except what's in the outline box and I just cant come up with anything to decorate around my house
Wheat fields or something
Unfortunately I already have a farm with wheat fields 🥀
Whats your island theme? Maybe terraformed waterfalls and a Japanese garden with lots of lanterns and flowers?
Ooh that's a interesting idea
Lots of objects for it for sure!!
I don't really have a theme tbh
Id surround the back end/outer right side of the house in cliffs like a backwards C shape, and do like a little pond with "stepping stones" (squares) in it to get across to the garden in front of your house:)
Omg wait… our island layouts look similar.
ty so muchh!! im new to this so kinda nervous posting lol
not mine but saw some ideas on tiktok
second flower garden i reached the image limit
a couple gap fillers ive done for my island, rebuilding after letting resetti go wild!
Oh that would be awesome!!!
So real!!! I’m new to it too and only done minimal decorating but hesitant to share. Love that you took the leap!
Does anyone want to come to my island for a little inspo? Celeste is here tonight & there are shooting stars as well! If interested dm & I will share code thx 😊
Part 1 of many areas of my island:
'Alice in wonderland' inspired.
(The art used isn't my own - it was various pieces I found through the customs designs portal).
Skyline update
some little bits of Inkreet Jungle
This is still very much a work in progress, but is it giving apartment building?
Are you on? I have an extra DIY:)
i fear i may be flopping with my island, i have no idea where to put things. At least i have some iconic dreamies
Felt😂 im completely lost on what to do with 90% of it
this is what i have for now sigh
Guys what could i put on the ruined pillars to make them feel more ruined castle- like? I wanted to put the golden candlestick but it't too shiny and polished
maybe gyroids?
idk, i wanted to make kind of a realistic looking castle :// thanks for the suggestion tho!
i'll try, thanks!!
I have such bad decision paralysis about my island entrance and res services area aaghhh
what can i do to cover that corner
I think there is a small pot that you can customize to be brown and green
you could try to find some furniture to cover that up, like a chair maybe
my only other idea is just to move that entire section over by one 😭
Here's my slumber island that loads of people helped to design :]] (can't credit everyone bc there was so many people tho, but they'll know hehe)
I wasn’t 😭 was asleep haha. Not sure about your time zone but would you be ok DMing me next time you’re on?
Make a wish in the Faeriecove fairy forest ♥️
Progress in my apartments!
Wanna show this off to all the splatoon fans. Artist is Maddeningtrash I recreated her work in animal crossing but she deserves the real credit
Some pics from before I reset my island
Yeah for sure! Probably around 8pm est, Im a night owl 😭😂
Hi! I got ACNH for Christmas and have been grinding ever since, haha! So I'm still a newbie. I have this area at the back of my villager street and I'm not sure what to put. I thought I could do trees, but I didn't realize they won't plant without more room (the very back is only 1 tile). I like the height that the side trees provide, but I'm at a loss for what else to put there (if I even can). I still don't have a ton of items yet, but I can keep my eyes peeled for suggested items! TYIA!
Anyone have any ideas on what I could do with the rest of my island/villagers.
Can anyone suggest how I can replicate the Catfish's Maw from Zelda: Link's Awakening in my lake?
Also, is there anything I could use as a replica of the mermaid statue, The Mourning Mermaid?
how close together are yalls villager houses?? this is my og island from 2020 and i like how the houses are lined up but i think it left me with too much empty space that i didnt know how to fill. Ive just started a new island on a different switch and am not sure what to do with it
Took a crack at properly updating the docks to welcome hotel guests.
not sure what to put on top of this thing
Hahaha all good. That works for me
can i see some other peoples rock gardens?
not functional but i made it to be pretty (idea from tiktok)
Just finished decorating my campsite ☺️
If anyone wants to visit my island for a game of fruit checkers and take a photo with these cutouts that I stole from Pinterest, lmk ☺️
Super happy with how this whole area came together
My rock garden isn't functional but I used them in my museum courtyard
Decided to fix up my 2020 island and that started with decorating the front "town" area a bit better
People of discord, please tell me if this is a halloween, 'horror-esque?' entrance. It looks fantasy, and should I knock it down??
mineru already enjoying my new farm
Hi !! I'm trying to recreate this pic and I'm not the best terraformer, which one is it?
I have spent the last several days using Happy Island Designer to plan my island! I am going for a magical forest/nature forward vibes with a medieval/castley vibe for the buildings. I have never done something like this before and I am so excited! ... Just need to get terraforming access first lmao
Add more decorations. Skulls, iron and stone fences, black roses, black cosmos, black tulips etc. maybe red pansies and red roses to look more bloody
Thank you, will keep in mind! I wish i can pin this lol! 📌
Can i ask how you got the boardwalk in the last photo? I want to use custom designs myself but im so bad at finding matches (amazing island btw!!)
hey! i can send you the creator’s code when i get back on in a bit if you want. i like to place them down more randomly and in the leading direction, as it looks and feels more natural in my opinion :)
Personally, I made my own private discord for note taking. I've got channels for certain games or topics and then threads if I need to deep dive. I forward pics of people's DAs that I want to visit later but will get buried in a week and I'll forget otherwise.
if you have any idea for a fitting island name, I'm all ears 🤙
Is anyone who has fully decorated their island doing island tours? I need inspo
my island is sooo bland im bad at that part
Needing opinions. Bottom picture is reference.
City of Uruk
(Fate Anime Anf Historical)
this is an awesome idea! very smart the way you’ve colour coordinated anything. is there anything in particular you’re looking for opinions on?
you can try in #island-hangouts🛩️🏝️ if you haven’t already!
I’ll check, thank you
I guess just anything lol. Im still fairly new to the animal crossing world
I've started to actually build on my island and this is how it's going so far! (The house covering Nook Cranny's will be moved eventually lol) (Also the entrance might look a bit weird due to the plants/saplings not being grown yet.)
Hello everyone! How do you move the community center?
i think it looks pretty solid to me. - if you’d like to recreate the vibe and look of having many many buildings like it looks in the picture (unsure?) - there’s plenty of ways to use items to give that effect! & also using castle items going through the island . attached some examples in case you were interested!
apologies if they’re not buildings i haven’t got my glasses on but 😭. either way the rock items, panels and building items are good to look into!
if you mean resident services, unfortunately it cannot be moved
I think, this is the thing I meant, thank you! good to know that it is not possible 😄 Thanks!
My campsite and a flower shop that I finished a while back
Completed my campsite for my first visitor ☺️
i literally had a dream about this map layout so i decided to make it real lol
(edit: if anyone's got any ideas on how i should decorate this island - i'm open to any and all suggestions!)
Are these like fences and stalls built together with hills?
there’s simple panels with custom designs, retro transportation stops & storefronts and then the medieval building sides! they give off the effect of a building by being placed on hills and then in front of them yes 😌
Awesome
What are we thinkin looks better? I can’t choose
Small, simple build. But I like it! Open to suggestions to improve it!
Rural shino house, open to improvement
Finally made a land bridge!
Winter: ice skate rink?
oh my god you’re a genius
maybe I can set up a hot cocoa bar too
can anyone show me their neighborhood please? i’m having a lot of trouble on how to make one :( i’d like all my villagers together on the back cliff
Yes either here or dm would be perfect thank you!
Mirkwood
When towncore starts to feel more citycore
I was wondering if someone could help me how can I redesign my island to fit 3 cultures in 1 island
I was experimenting with some items on my Slumber Island and came up with this layout in a few different colors and I think it’s really pretty!
I think it’d be great for an entrance and could work with a bunch of different themes and be customized even further than this
Would love to see if anyone recreates this
Items used: Pergola, Colorful-lantern arch, Plain party-lights arch, trees
Give me the name of the character and I can suggest you an island name
it's Legolas from Lord of the Rings!
legoland lol
The whole island idea was born to celebrate the new LEGO and Zelda series introduced with the 3.0 update, and Legolas tied everything together perfectly (he literally has lego in his name and he’s an archer elf, just like Link).
Then I also realized that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and Cupid is famously known for shooting arrows as well.
How am I supposed to back out now?
wait my idea is actually good then
Bookcases. You can either turn them around, and put the simple panels in front or have them open like normal bookcases
The most convincing name I’ve come up with so far is Lost Mirk(wood), because it bridges Lost Woods from Zelda and Mirkwood, which is the place where Legolas comes from
Loupid? Legolas and Cupid?? Idk
Pronounced 'Loo - pid'
thank you, I'm taking every suggestion in consideration 🙂
I'm gonna start the terraforming soon
Wish you luck!!! 🌴😉
Plan for my island now I’ve unlocked terraforming.
Hello all, any suggestions for Coco home/yard?
finally finished my house area
Can someone please help me with the names of these items, and how I can get them please. Id love to make this apple bees on my island
(I saw if on pinterest)
I'm actually happy on how this came out here with this little pond I have! I wish I had a little more items.
Hi! I need someone to give me ideas to help design my island Idk what to do with it. 50k bells to help out 100k if you can give me things to help decorate
Holy shit
store fromts, stadium lights, maybe construction scaffold turned around, lots of simple panels big and small, sign, partition plants, cypress plant, medieval building turned around
I make stuff with items l, it's easier than you think
Gyroid village!
Wait omg thanks a lot.
Wow this is so impressive. I wish I had a creative mind of my own
Where can I get the medieval building?
nooks, depends on colour
Before vs after taking a short break 🩷
Thx so much
I had no idea you could create like this on here, lol. I've just been winging it, lol. Very cool.
Yippee yay yay
how are we decorating our yards😔 idk what to do around my house!
Aww that's such a transformation i love it 🩷 🩷
The current WIP of my map! Just laid out all the porches and plazas-- tomorrow is waterscaping and walking paths! (The area below the museum/above the houses is my orchard and rock garden LOL)
Made a stage (couldn’t figure out the spacing on the boards, even with several attempts 😭) and I made a free recipe drop bc I got the idea from another member in here
progressing more today determined to get most of this island done
The houses in the back, in the last image, are photoshopped right? 🤔
it can be created by adding more accounts/human houses on the island and upgrading them, customising and then using items
Looking for castle and palace info/items 🫶🏼 I’m building a European island and need a palace for Versailles and castle for London!
oooyea ur right! thx, forgot about the mutiple accounts.
Outdoor library.
And a doctors office since these people be taking advantage of me.
Can I have some ideas for a pink cutecore kawaii themed island please? I want my island to be as pink as possible
I've been trying to model my island after Koholint from Zelda: Link's Awakening, and I've been modelling Martha's Bay by trying to replicate the Catfish's Maw. Here's a screenshot what I've done so far, but I can't help but think it looks more like the level's boss than it's entrance. I'll put pics of what I'm trying to replicate.
Does anyone have any ideas for a bamboo area?
Looking for Sea Goth inspired items!! If anyone knows any my DMs are open 😁😁
Why, just why can't I move the residental service when you cannot even make the path in a way that it is in the middle of the path! 😭
Is it giving Pinterest yet
I really like how my new island is turning out
I procrastinated redoing my island because I was already going for that european/mediterranean vibe. But I‘m happy now making all the little shops/bakeries/restaurants.
Can I have some ideas for a zen garden
I’m new to the game, but maybe you could get cherry blossom paths from online and use lots of hardwood trees bc they’ll turn pink soon. There’s some limited edition valentines items in the book shop. Maybe get all the villagers that have pink houses (if you don’t already have the DLC)
I like having a path like this to one of the neiborhoods but I’m not a fan, any ideas on a more natural path?
I kept making little tweaks, but I think I’m finally satisfied with my house build.
campsite work in progress
Here is my finished "Europen Town" Island! https://youtu.be/IvX-a90e5dY?si=3N6LpfDqThSDfFEG
Welcome to my finished 5-Star ACNH Island Tour! 🏝️ This European-inspired town features the best ACNH island inspo, custom designs, and a full Dream Address reveal for you to visit right now! After years of building and refining every detail, I’m finally opening my island to everyone. In today’s video, I’m taking you on a full aesthet...
I want to create a small waterfall here... Why isn't it possible to create one?
try putting two more cliffs at either side on the back maybe? I think the back is too small
THANK YOU! It worked!!
every building on my island +shops because im proud of them
wips
outdoor bookstore + clothing shop! gonna make an area for nooks cranny too hehe
Doing my shopping district and finished Able's today ! Now I just gotta wait for all the trees to grow
does anyone have ideas for this space? 🤔 I wanted to try something with the rocks but I don’t think there’s space 🥲
here's the latest version of the Festivale island I'm working on. I tried to improve Pavé’s artwork by making it more detailed, and I added the sprite of his Pokémon counterpart, Quaquaval
As always, I’m very interested in any kind of advice from you on how to improve it, whether it’s about terraforming, the name, the flag, the tune, or the villagers; anything, really. Oh, and if anyone would like to help me in the process in the next days, feel free to message me and I’ll tell you where to find me on Twitch (I'm still quite new to it though)
Lighthouse!
you could arrange the rocks in a circle and place the leaf mask in the center to emulate a Korok like in Zelda
kinda like this, and you could use Garden rocks or Ruined seats to complete the circle
As I've said before, I'm modelling my island after Koholint Island, the setting for Zelda: Link's Awakening. Here's my island's map.
Mabe Village is in acres D2&3 and E2&3, Animal Village is in E6, Martha's Bay is in Acres E4&5. The town hall is acting as Marin and Tarin's house, Nook's Cranny is in the place where the Mabe Village shop would be, the campsite as the Dream Shrine and my house is Kanalet castle.
This is the Mabe Village fishing hole and the fairy's fountain in the Mysterious Woods.
cool! I’ve always had a soft spot for tileset-based maps. Did you just go with the flow, or did you follow a specific (grid) map online?
Last time I posted on here, I was talking about recreating Martha's Bay and the Catfish's Maw. Here's what I done and a screenshot Zelda: LADX to compare. Although, my Catfish's Maw looks more like the Slime Eel, the boss in the dungeon to me. Only thing missing is the mermaid statue. Shame they cut it out of NH.
what a coincidence, I also remade the interior of Marin and Tarin’s house just yesterday
I went with the flow. I had to cut some area out because of the size of my island.
Fantastic! Wish I thought of that.
it's very spot on, well done
My favorite area on Koholint is the Ancient Ruins, where Link found the mural on the wall. I put most of my energy into replicating that.
super atmospheric, nice work 👍
I recreated some of the other dungeons, too. This lighthouse is on the north-eastern most mountain to replicate the Eagle's Tower.
This is Angler's Tunnel before you open it. I don't think I'd be able to replicate the big fish relief cut into the cliff face.
If only I could make or get snake statues, I could make a Tail Cave on the beach.
btw are you aware that the Catfish is in New Horizons? You could place the fish or its model somewhere near the entrance of the Catfish’s Maw
or you could place a Rock Head next to a custom design that looks like a black hole to emulate the Savage Labyrinth found on Outset Island in Zelda Wind Waker
what can i do about this?
i saw someone put an outdoor wedding there and it was adorable
first time ever rlly design and pre planning my island via happyisland designer and im not sure yet about this, in general i want a nature/mountain/hill kinda vibe so yea im a newbie, any feedback would be nice
forgot my own house as well as campsite to add
A little bookstand by the street
Does anyone have any campsite ideas? I'm seriously struggling with the entrance leading to it and I would love any ideas or advice. :)
(I'm currently taking a break from playing rn and I forgot to take pictures)
working on my neighborhood
move the house back or add another row of cliff in front
no idea what to do with my island!! any design ideas or suggestions?
Anyone have any design ideas for a temple? Pictures I'm finding online aren't great. The furniture I'm using are the ruined arch, the pillars, broken pillars, maybe some castle walls, goddess hylia statue
not my idea but I had fun making it
Which of these spots is the better option to place the museum?
I love this idea
I think the higher point is better so you can have that spot be for just the museum. Adding benches, fountain (if room) extra fossil parts, etc.
Do you have to have houses built for villagers to move to your island?
You have to have a empty plot for villager to move in. 🙂
new transitional path ✨️ i wanted a more 'natural' vibes for this side of the island
would the able sisters fit between resident services and the spot for the nooklings shop or no?
please use the trafe channels! #furniture-trade . this is a channel for posting pictures of your island designs.
OMG sorry i thought i was in that chat 😅
no worries! 🩷 thank you for being understanding
Does anyone have a land lay out idea that I can use and a creepy house inside and outside ideas for me pintress is hindered it acnh house section useless
The train is incredible! I think I use the same street code btw xD
Dont know if you already found/tried this but I just looked up 'acnh storefront code' on google and found this! :3
What are the benches you're sitting on?
My rock garden so far! I feel like its missing some things though?? Anyone have item suggestions? I still want it all to be acessible but something feels unfinished
I love your star theme!! I wouldn't say it's missing anything(I don't usually make rock gardens), maybe more cherry blossoms on the path? I wish they scattered more
Ooo yeah youre right!! Thank you❤️❤️❤️
I’m not the best at decor but i did these today
helloooo, i was just wondering if anyone had any idea (dream islands / paths / items) thatll match this concept? i want to do my entire island based on this photo but im unsure how to make it work
that is an awesome theme
i think definitely the 'ruined', 'vine', and 'mossy' diy items, and maybe the castle walls/gates/towers
I need help deciding which homes should I move next so I can finish terraforming the neighborhood area. Sherb will be where my house is in the 3rd tier while Pietro will be alongside Groucho's and Tasha's. Who of the two should I get their house relocated?
I made my decision I'm gonna relocate Sherb's today, Pietro tomorrow
What pathway code is better to connect the two? 😩😩 I’m struggling
Your moon area is beautiful!!!
the blueprint for the Mario Tennis Fever island is ready. Now I just need to find the right name, any good ideas?
added a mushroom amid the latest Mario doping rumors…
rock garden!
Hey everybody, i need advice (i hope its the right place), I'm doing a normcore island with the basic bricks path but I don't know what fence to use :)) Do you have ideas ?
Does anyone have a land lay out idea that I can use and a creepy house inside and outside ideas for me pintress is hindered it acnh house section useless
Really proud of my layout idea
It looks amazing. You did a beautiful job with the layout
Hello: can anyone help me figure out why my zen bridge won’t fit. I have an incline right there but I have seen designs where the bridge and incline are in front of each other so I’m trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.
Looks like its because of the cliff on the left 🙂
Unless youre trying to do vertically across?
Oh yeah then thats prob why!
I have redid that water 8364846382 million times but hopefully making the cliff wider is the issue.
I really think thats it! Otherwise your bridge would end at the very end of the cliff and you wouldnt be able to get off of it lol
Grid system 🙄
Omgggg whyyyyy 😭😭
the river's too long, try shortening it on the other side by one tile
WIP! Idk what to add in that extra missing area for now so I'll probably finish it tommorow
I did that 😭
I will try again.
yeah try again - from what i can tell the river's 6 tiles long and the max for a bridge is 5
thank youuu
For my villagers neighborhood im wanting to do more of a Japanese garden vibe, does anyone have this theme going on? I definitely dont want to do city vibes, but im waiting pretty lights, and leaning more whimsical
does anyone else map their village this way lol?
it helps keep track of WIP parts for me, the city, camp 3 and gyroid village is WIP rn and i can remember that easily with a map like this
What incline should I put here?
how do you guys find inspiration or know how to plan out the layout of your island? i know what i want to do with it (a star/space themed island, magical vibe, yay), but i dont know the ins and outs of planning and sectioning off areas..
I genuinely make it up as I go 🤣 I know some people really plan things out but I’ve kinda just sectioned things off accidentally and then changed how they fit together over the years, my personal opinion is to not overthink it too much, and start with small bits at a time and your island will slowly come together. Also if you have a theme in mind picking up furniture and items that go with that theme any time you see them will help you update your island as you have time. That’s my two cents anyway
I added my own touches to this fish market I found online
Finished the majority of terraforming :]
Pinterest for me 😂
love the planning!
I had a lot of free time during the last week of my architecture internship haha thought I might as well
I like how you did ur terraforming ! If you make a dream address id love to see
Trying to lean into more natural terraforming.
I'll be sure to share one once everything's moved into place (and a little cleaned up lol)!
Is there a statue of a snake in the game? Something I can use to replicate the entrance to Tail Cave from Zelda Link's Awakening?
tried to make what i think is a unique island layout on one of the pinned websites. it would be my first time venturing super far from the base ones the game gives you, but i think it'll be a fun journey!
Hey- I'm pretty new to island design and whenever I've tried in the past I've completed sucked and given up almost instantly. Could anyone here give me some advice to get started? My idea for my island is a natural theme with some sort of bee quirk to it.
- Plan first. If you are gonna dive in a specific theme you have to plan which items you wanna use, which custom designs etc.
- Try out a mood board,
put together some items and see what you like - Get most of the items, flowers and trees/bushes you need and THEN start decorating, this way you won’t get stuck in the process
- Pinterest and Instagram are your best friends, start by copying stuff you like and then make your personal changed and reinterpretation.
- Start with a less cluttered look if it’s your first time, this way you won’t have to bear with too much balancing problems
this is my insp for my island (not 100% the same) is it good? i’ve currently completed a good portion of it, but what can i add?
feel free to save the pic and add some edits it’d be really appreciated ^^
I want a design like this so bad. I love the organized look but the 4th one is when I try 😭😭 it looks terrible I have no idea how to do this
If anyone knows how to make stuff like the first 3 I would appreciate tips
because they all most likely used custom paths so the maps had to be drawn, the actual in-game map would be just a lot of green i think
I more so mean the actual layout, I was just trying to plan something LOL I really want an organized island like the first ones
like I need a plan of what to build but I’m having trouble making it look as organized as the other ones I see
maybe cus I don’t have enough building ideas but I dunno I’m kinda bad at layouts
ooh
like very bad
i usually think of the bigger builds first involving the buildings, then just connect them
i have map progression that may help?
that would!! thank you!
I think I may need to look at them closer to make a better one plus mine doesn’t have nearly as much stuff
It wasn’t done but it looks really bad so I gotta restart LOL
this is my more organized island
Oh my gosh this is super helpful and ur island is SO cute! Thank you!
you're welc!!
two areas i’ve part worked on today need a bit more added thooo
Here’s areas ive added/upgraded since then
Soon i will have a five star island, i hope…
A (sort of) hidden mountain bath I made in my slumber island ^^ lemme know what yall think!
does anyone see the vision ?? 🙏 (and tips? i have problems w the left tree so I can't put water there xd)
I definitely see the vision! The symmetry with the waterfalls looks great, even with the tree
Park
thanks! ofc there's a lot missing but i'm so glad to hear this ^^
So, I did this today! I am actually restarting playing now, I am actually doing the clothing shop area :>
My first “finished” area in my island and first foresty type of area, I have a hard to placing items randomly usually 😅
I love this.
I really struggle with making my island more dense, if that makes sense. I have a lot of open space and it always looks bad.
Yep same here, I’m trying to build a Pinterest list of build inspo so I can eventually host my island for ppl to visit
Omg this is so cute
How'd yall build your online trading areas? I usually trade big orders. Curious to see how others have done it.
Hii, anything else I can add to my museum front to match the Pic on the right?
Bushes, more signs
oooo maybe connect it to that bridge i can see not far away on the little small map view thing but to end the hills off turn it into the waterfall stuff (if that makes sense i know what i mean and then across that houses
I finished my clothing shop area!
so i did this yesterday! it looks so much better in the nighttime
I absolutely will connect those! thank youu
Just saw your map appear on #bellboard💰 .This is brilliant! Great work!
Same. I love the feeling of open areas, but I want to be able to fit more little hidden nooks and crannys
I suck at terraforming and I keep second guessing my progress
my entrance is starting to look like something 🥹
Lol that hippo was a tourist for me yesterday. Entrance looking good so far, I like the path you chose
tyy! the hippo kept blocking me when I was building
Buddy, move!
Hey guys- any ideas what I should put here?
I'm going for a foresty/natural island with a implementation of bees
Looks cute
Thx
But how did you swim on that little island
Wdym
There's a bridge if that's what you mean
Oh sry I'm new
No worries
Got any tips for me?
Loot as much as you can from your first / any nook mile islands you go to- don't sell any materials from rocks or trees though and save them for the shop & villager homes
Even later game I don't sell my materials
Also imo don't buy bridges/inclines early game. Especially since later game you may not want those bridges in the same place if you teraform your island
:))
Love this idea!
Going to make this on my island just south of the neighbourhood I’m making
A little park
It’ll be roses for flowers as I have an abundance
is there some keyword i should use if im looking for rock inspo that's not the 6 rock circle, or a 2x3 rectangle? ive tried natural and asymmetrical but the first one just gets me rock circles with nature items near them
i still want to be able to have the 8 clear tiles around
What should I add to my Valentine’s Day area? I’d like to get the picnic basket item but idk how
If you want the picnic basket item you could find a picnic blanket custom design and make a cute spot to have a picnic
Love this idea!
And it could be for a set of villagers or another profile make it your boyfriend or something a romantic date
My brother is proposing to his gf soon. His friends held a little wedding ceremony in the couple’s favorite game. This is one of their other favorites so I thought I’d set up something nice for them to visit ☺️ I also added candles and plant decorations after this pic
Yesss
Very cute! Aquarium date!
Only problem is my brother is newer to the game and doesn’t want to spoil everything you can do in this game by seeing my island 😭
You could build it and if it’s on the rock it will be harder to see
Cause it’s on the side of the map
And then show him later
Might ask his gf to log him in and make him stand at the altar before giving him his switch 😂 then that’s all he sees
Yesss
I wanna make a cute junkyard of just items I don’t have enough storage for but idk what outdoor items would look cute
So cuteee
Thank you 🥹🥰🥰
my rock garden is not a circle and i placed the items so that i just have to angle myself in front of them to get all the rock materials
would this be a good spot? it's kind of hard to see, sorry xd
personally i’d make sure you could get across with a bridge first
behind the tree you can jump over the river, could I make a path towards there and then make them stepping like stepping stones?
i see ur vision but make sure its easily accessible
Hello lovelies, is there anyway to stop the rough square points around this small river im trying to make by this cliff?

well, crud.. Thanks for replying!
My new entrance and outdoor cinema area
Fill in where the red boxes are and then destroy those same blocks. Do it one red box at a time (fill and destroy). It should create an edge where the dotted white line is. To create the flat edges you need to create large points like where the yellow outline shows.
Decorated the hotel dock / pier🧳
So basically I need help with designing. Anyone have forest or fairytale theme? 🌞
Just unsure what theme would be simple and cute!
I'm trying to lock in with my island but I just can't seem to find a start point yet.. anyone here who could help me into a simple, normal theme? Mostly looking for something similar to cottage but WAY more simplier, kinda like "this was once a deserted island" vibes
Not too modern looking yet not too "no technology" looking either
lf: someone to help me design my island / parts of it!
ft: nmt, bells, items, whatever!
i have a fairy theme forest? would that help?
LF: Someone to help me design my Map Layout/Island/Entrance
FT: bells & nmts
Hope this helps!
Anyone have general tips in designing islands? I am in the process of moving villagers' houses to make a designated "neighborhood" but am now faced with a lot of empty space that I don't know what to use for. I also prefer to have everything lined up in a grid-like system, but am a little worried about over-terraforming and ruining any natural looking terrain 😅 I'm early-ish game so I don't have infinite bells to move around houses. I do know however that I don't like my current layout
(I also don't have any ramps yet, only ladder setups bc im broke)
