here i think what's missing is something this i like to call "symmetrical asymmetrical clutter"

just throw random stuff onto the place and look what works best

look for a more "crowded" look (lots of flowers, small items (if you have some spare ones), even stuff like gyroids can work magic to make something look lively and coherent

If you're keeping your museum down there, then maybe you could do a large area dedicated to museum things. Like a dig site, a general research area, ect. Around that, you could leave it natural and make hiking trails, or you could develop it more and make fake shops, something in between like maybe farms, just anything. Sorry if this isn't helpful

Depends on how close your town hall is. If it’s pretty close, a lot of people like to do a little street section in front of their town hall. If it’s further away you could do a bit of a plaza with benches, flowers, fountain etc

Maybe benches infront of the pushes right by the airport on both sides w/ trees behind the pushes plus a mix of flowers and other plants. You could also make the waterfall go up more levels and put different streams splitting off from one another going down, with statues on the land plots that cut off the water.
I'm not a professional though so take my word with caution, might be a bad idea lol. ^^

(Sorry for the late response, I didn't get a ping) Honestly just play around with terriforming. It's okay if you don't like the result, as long as you're willing to put in time to play around till you get it right. (Honestly the number of hours I've spent terriforming one area on my island is insane) If you don't have a lot of DIYs just make an idea of what you want and leave a little space. It's always okay to also place then remove later if you find something better. OR Look at item catalogs online and make a plan from the get go if you're not much for experimenting. I drew a pictures of areas I wanted to make before I made them, even if I didn't have the items.

Ive been able to terraform most my island to have this secret part inaccessible, but i cant figure out what to do in this spot here? I suggest looking at a lot of inspiration on YouTube, Pinterest, etc., even if the person isn’t doing the same theme as you. I do this a lot whenever I start a new theme. My resident services is close to my entrance, so it’s hard to figure out what to do a lot of the time.

something i did on an island once (also had super bad plaza placement) was that I built a large elevation first and made it so that there was a tiny entrance plaza (maybe 3x3 or 4x4 with an incline to the side that led to the elevation; you could take up this idea and terraform a river ONTO the elevation ( or maybe one river and multiple small streams) and then lead the massive elevation around the plaza so that you come onto the plaza from the side (i can do a quick sketch of what i mean if you want to

i don’t think there’s any way to customize an arch so it has a sign on it but there are two options i can think of

use the floating blocks with some sort of customizable item with your logo on top (you can also put an arch or your preference in front of it to hide the brown block colour if it’s not preferable)

put an arch of your choice and then put two standing banners on either side with your logo to create the illusion that the banners are attached to either side of your arch

i would suggest looking on pintrest, there are a lot of flower breeding guides that can be styled for decor as well as function!

I think putting the table down the middle would make it look like there’s more space and make it seem more like a castle. The rugs are a nice touch! You should try turn it into one long rug down the middle too tho and see how it looks and compare your two designs to see which one you prefer 🙂

Yeah, I haven't actually put the time in to change it to that, but I rly should, esp since the bottom of the castle is exactly 6 blocks across between the tower pieces at the corners. So that makes 2 gates fill it perfectly, so if I switch to tables in the middle, the gates will line up with where you're running if you're just running through the build

You need to find a custom design for the flooring and then put it down after you can do terraforming. You can do walls using simple panels customized with a design.

Working on my canal ! You can see that it’s divided at the end of the canal, I think that I will create a café with an entrance on a side and on the other side I will create a fake building and a roof so I can continue the café and making it a star café ! With the stars items and where you can observing stars on the roof since it’s the limit of my island, I think that will be the perfect place to observing stars !

The azumaya gazebo actually doubles as an arbor in a garden. And the bamboo slat fence is commonly used irl as a decorative backdrop in Japanese gardens with tea ceremony areas. The center bridge is a zig-zag bridge, common in gardens of Asia where there’s an old belief that bad spirits cannot travel in straight lines, so you can leave them behind by crossing criss-crossed bridges over water.

Tl;dr I’m having a lot of fun researching everything haha wish I had more room! Probably going to expand the gardens west and east, but the southern areas of my island are populated already

Hmm you could so seasonal decor that you could change up every season. A little seating area or garden. I also think that a some terrforming could work if you needed/wanted some height. If it was me. I think I would use some rocks, and trees to kinda me a half circle with the area to close it in. using the two trees you have across the street as reference if that makes sense

You could consider a big park/plaza feel with a center piece and seating then add some little popup market things in there. That would add to fill in space. You could also divide the space with trees, other spacing, houses, shops and make it more of a transition area. you could terraform it to add elevation for some more interested to make a view of resident services. Just some food for thought

@winter wave General tips for kidcore is to keep things bright. Most will have things in loads of different colours but it is possible to keep things monochromatic. Personally speaking kidcore is built up on good patterns. Have a variety of items especially those of childish nature e.g toys. Have a variety of trees as shown in some images. 😘

I’d suggest making things look kinda “artifical” like it looks fake but like it still could be real, iykwim. Also I’d say just have splashes of color, but don’t overdo it.
