(Pictures are not mine) I have three main suggestions to pick from for your entrance, 1. A small town/farm 2. A pretty natural path that splits to go around your island 3. A nice communal area for everyone to have tea and relax , and if none of those sound interesting maybe just find some pictures you like and take parts you like from each until you have a result you want, hope this helps!

You could terraform a little bit around it like add some small cliffs and waterfalls to put the flowers on so you can keep them but it might be the more appeal you’re looking for , maybe some vines on the side of a cliff if you do decide to terraform , hope this helps : )

Chopping down all the trees is a good way to reset. I did that to mine and pulled up all the bushes and flowers. And that helped me plan things out and terraform

You could do fencing or any taller items. By varying with height, you can make a more interesting look. If you can afford the extra square I would move the patterns down by one so you have space for trees/fencing/items/etc. to play with.

You have to put mannequins (custom designs of clothing) everywhere on your island so that there is no 3x3 empty spaces except where you want the rocks to spawn. While your doing that break all your rocks by hitting them after eating a fruit. Then you time travel 6 days so all the rocks respawn in their new spot. Once your rocks are where you want them you simply change the custom design you used and all the mannequins will disappear. There's a guide in #garden-science-info

it seems to me, that you're kinda going into a more south-east asian themed aesthetic so i'd maybe work with different bonsai trees, lucky cats, the kerokeroppi hallways (add a nice layer of depth to builds), also decide about how big you want the space around your able sisters to be (especially the part behind the building); by adding more trees or maybe creating a cliff behind the shop, that you fill with trees, bushes, bamboo themed items, etc. you could make the entire build more cohesive; i'd also change the colour of the tables and the table clothes so that they match the colour theme that you picked; try to have some sort of symmetry but not too much of it, so that it doesn't look lifeless; and last but not least, by just adding small finishing touches (especially plants and clothing such as shoes), you can make the build more lively

i actually used to also have different types of farms and tbh i think that the wooden or metal bucket looks the best; something that might also work are water puddle custom designs (check out this creator: MA-3271-3867-8667, NOT mine); or if you wanna go full out, make a tiny pond and work with the pathing around it and add some weeds, so it looks like a small natural enclosure

so i've never built anything like this before but it seems to me, that the person terraformed a double elevation on each side and turned everything into water except for the bottom layer; the upper picture is probably slightly cropped or something because there needs to be a way to get yourself to the mini island (maybe there's some land 3 or 4 blocks behind the island and the person just used a vaulting pole)

to get this effect you just need an ENOURMOUS space and have to do the thing as i wrote above

just decide where the path should be and build the two elevations on each side

i really like the layout of the market but i think that you should maybe try to add more detail to it, especially in the spaces between the stalls; try to use some custom designs (maybe some type of path or some wooden planks), add some weeds, some flowers; maybe look for some custom designs for the stall tops, so you have some diversity in color, texture, etc.; use small items like plants or shoes to bring in some life into the whole build

@woeful surge both have some pros and cons; with mario, you already have a lot of items that fit the theme, though at some point without a cleat idea regarding the nature, landscapes, etc. it might get a little monotone (so maybe decide on a specific mario theme like "Mario in the Jungle" and than you can build an entire story and also island around that thought) + mario is a rather rare theme choice, usually people only have small parts on their islands that are mario themed; horror on the other hand is a quite common choice (after cottagecore, springcore,...) and is more difficult to do, as you really need to work with not that many items that are 100% horror themed, BUT if you manage to pull it off, those islands are usually REALLY good (here, maybe try to also find a subcategory to focus on e.g. "Cannibalism in a Spooky Jungle" or "A City full of Murder")

I find builds go well with a little realism. Not too much, it is still animal crossing, but some. As such, I think you'll have a hard time making things feel Farmy, if you get tempted by the landscaping tools too much. It’s okay to take your time and plan things out! Honestly, I struggle with looking at videos and posts online too because a lot of them can start to feel the same. Scrolling through these channels is a great way to get some more diverse inspiration, and it’s ok if nothing clicks immediately. Islands constantly evolve and change :) maybe start out with just putting stuff down and seeing what works

hey, i have that problem too! i tried lots of times and i keep chickening out BUT i can only agree with what someone said about small sections at a time. for example, what could i put on the beach, what do i need, what would fit to the rest of the island, what aesthetic could it follow? i made a tiki bar first, put it on the beach and gathered the materials for that.
also, try playing around with the island designer maybe and decorate some more with paths. i’m pretty sure everything will be alright and don’t stress yourself too much:) a friend of mine has been playing for years and she still keeps changing it so yea

It definitely could!! Pandora has a very magical feel to it, so a fairytale theme could absolutely work. And cottage core themes are always some of my favorites, so that would definitely work to I think over time the name begins to fit your island, rather than the island fitting the name. So I wouldn’t worry a ton about that! Do the themes that interest you!

Tbh within the game itself. I made cherry park because I cherry the doggo was my OG villager. I decided to make lil japan because Genji was my other OG villager. I made the enchanted Forrest cause I had a lot of wolves and deer, also cause the mush lamps look so magic ✨. I decided my museum needed a next level courtyard of outdoor exhibits cause the flick and CJ models are super cool. I kinda let the game tell me what to build

@autumn bluff Without terraforming, you can use custom paths for the road, and you could do a flower field with beehives scattered throughout as well as windmills so it's like a honey farm. You could add a house too or a fake building to be the farmhouse

But you could do it without custom paths too and just put fencing bordering the flower field so the grass is the pathway

And make a field on each side

I guess you could just do the flowers for now and add stuff later

Without items you can't really do much

I could make you some fences too to keep in the flowers so they don't take over your island

Or you could just do something completely different
